A new thread! This is for anyone who is trying to conceive their first child - anyone welcome!

The current stats list is shown below, UCL means usual cycle length, and CD is cycle day.

In theory the person who starts the thread gets a BFP before the end, but I'll just be happy to get AF turn up again!

Afternoon all. DP has gone to the pub to watch the football so thought I would update the stats & catch up. I've been mostly ok over the weekend but have been a little up and down. I'm thinking of all the positives (inspired by hairy) but still feel disappointed. One of the best things to come out of this is now my mum knows i'm TTC and has shared a lot with me about her experiences successful & otherwise.

I think we will try again soon though I don't think I'll test until my AF is really late though. I would like to be one of those lucky people who don't realise they are pregnant straight away and have therefore made it through the first few risky weeks.

zippy Really sorry about AF Being in hospital maybe wasn't the greatest set up for a BFP last month. I hope you are still feeling positive about your next cycle. Good luck with temping.

oneof8 What a nightmare coming off the pill you have had. It must be hard to not know what is happening. Let us know how you get on Monday and if any symptoms surface.

cavemum Am very jealous of your new jewellery. It sounds beautiful. Have you got your ovulation line on FF yet? It's very exciting when you do

wannamummy I hope you are enjoying your spa weekend.

mrswajs Maybe your cycle's are shortening? My DP always wishes I would ovulate over a weekend as there's more time to SWI. I hope you managed lots & ov is confirmed soon for you.

bellaby Enjoy your new bed!

cherry , evil and lucky Thanks for the hugs.

Hi Lovely Frolickers,

Sorry I haven't managed to get back this weekend to catch up as promised- the epic marking marathon had eaten up all of my weekend and there is still a mountain more to do so I will probably not have time to post much this week. I will be lurking though and will post when I can.

flo-you sound like you're doing so well and it's lovely that you can see the positive in being able to share with your Mum. Will you be going back to work tomorrow? Any thoughts on where you will go on your holiday?

sorry about AF zippys- you too sound positive and am hoping that this is your lucky cycle. Did you get your themometer?! You are going to LOVE temping I'm very sad aren't I?!

Glad you're back bellaby- can't rememebr if I've already said that! Hope your bed is nice and comfy and your DH is now happy! Your parties sound fun- hope there were plenty of sausage rolls and something nice to drink My nipples get really hard and sensitive about ten days after I've ovulated- Where are you in your cycle? Have you ovulated yet? Maybe it's that?

Happy belated birthday cavemum!! Your necklace sounds beautiful- what a thoughtful DH you have! What did you get up to to celebrate your birthday?

Oh no, DH is getting annoyed with me as it is bed time and I'm still here on the lap top writing this and catching up on Holby City!

Wanted to catch up with you all but no time- will try in the week so for now big hellos to you all- wannamummy(hope you enjoyed the spa- am off to one next weekend. Can't wait!) pinkie (glad you and you dh have made up!)oneof8,cherry,mrswajs, evil and aries. We're missing you kaloki and claire!

I've missed lots of you- I award my self the grade of 'Must try harder'!

CaveMum · 16/05/2010 16:01

Afternoon all, hope everyone is out enjoying the sunshine!

haloflo glad to hear you are trying to focus on the positives, though I'm sure everyone would understand if you have wobbly moments.
My ovulation line appeared on FF this morning! It was quite exciting actually! It says I probably ovulated on Thursday which was Day 11 of my cycle. I guess it is just a question of waiting for AF to turn up and then seeing what cycle 2 holds. From reading other peoples experiences it sounds like cycle 2 could well be longer.

Felicity I am a very lucky girl to have such a thoughtful DH. We went out for dinner last night to a Chinese restaurant at the end of our road (which meant we could stagger home without too much trouble ). It is quite a well known place to eat round these parts and is often full of local racing 'celebs'. Prince Harry ate in there a few weeks ago when he was visiting the town to see his grandmother's racehorses and it was all over the local papers!

DH and I are in the middle of a big spring clean of the house so I better get back to helping out!

haloflo · 16/05/2010 17:50

Felicity A work mountain sounds daunting, I hope you get through it quickly (and not just so you can be on MN!)

I am going back to work tomorrow. Not really looking forward to it but it will be fine. The thing i'm looking forward to least is explaining why I was off in case it makes me upset (although I did explain through tears on friday) but I don't want to put it off. I'm not that bad emotionally that I need more time off and physically I'm fine. Am glad I didn't need anything medical doing. As it is its just been like a bad AF.

Am not sure about holiday location's now. Stupid ash cloud is back! I think i'll make airesgirl proud and look into UK based holidays. Just gonna hope for a heatwave!

cavemum I think cycle 2 is more of a challenge as its more natural but mine was just as regular as cycle 1 post pill so fingers crossed yours will be too. I'm now hoping this won't mess my cycle's up. The last thing I want is a long cycle now!

Glad to hear FF picked a day for you. Is it dotted? I think its less sure if you don't enter the other signs.

A spring clean sounds good. I actually love the feeling of throwing stuff out and having a clean house at the end.

Kaloki · 17/05/2010 01:55

I'm back!! Sorry, this thread dropped off my active convos, will try to post more often!

Nothing really to report here, I think I've just OV'd, so now it's the waiting game.

Haven't got time to catch up with everything but sending my love to haloflo, hope you are doing ok.

Kaloki · 17/05/2010 01:56

Ooh forgot to say, would love you ladies advice on my thread here

CaveMum · 17/05/2010 07:20

Kaloki good to hear from you! I've just posted on your thread, I think you have some beautiful selections!

haloflo yes it is a dotted line at the moment on FF. I've only been recording my temp and the days I have bled, so perhaps that is not enough info to be certain in the first cycle. I'll have to see if a pattern emerges for the next one! To be honest I haven't noticed any difference in CM or any other 'symptoms' but may not have been paying enough attention!

Hope everyone has a good day!

takethatlady · 17/05/2010 08:04

Just a quick check-in here ...

haloflo I'm so sorry to hear your news. Good luck going back to work today - sounds like you're doing the right thing getting it over and done with, but remember not to overdo it. And I'm glad you got to talk with your mum

Bellaby, I had a huge guilt trip two weeks ago because I went out for dinner and my dad kept on filling up my glass before I'd finished. I had no idea how drunk I was getting until I got up to leave - I was smashed, and was sick when I got home (after practically raping DH) and sick again in the morning. That was the guiltiest hangover ever. I'm not recommending people should get drunk, and it definitely gave me a wake-up call, but until I have a BFP I won't be totally giving up drinking, either - just making sure I don't get drunk between OV and AF! Loads of us have been there, though, so don't worry (I am on cd5 today, AF has more or less left the building, and I'm going out for cocktails...)

Kaloki your dresses look gorgeous - sorry for posting on the wrong thread but I say number 7. Have you seen Candy Anthony? It's a 1950s dress shop - the dresses are about £4k each but it might give you some ideas for patterns!

Like you Felicity I have a work mountain ... better actually get to it or I'll be dead before my next post...

Good luck ladies
xxxx

womanlytales · 17/05/2010 08:34

Update from my end: CD30 - Had AF symptoms since Friday, tested on Sunday - BFN. Am - not sure what to do next.
halo Keep strong - focusing on the positives - you're inspiring.
cavemum Happy belated birthday We're cleaning up as well since my mil is visiting next weekend and will be here for a month.
Kaloki best of luck - lots of babydust your way.

felicityFlick · 17/05/2010 08:49

Making a small bit of head way with my marking mountain- just wanted to pop in and say hope work goes ok for you today flo xxx

zippys · 17/05/2010 08:50

Morning everyone,

Just a quick post from me this morning. AF is in full flow and quite painful but at least my cycles are now pretty regular. Had a good chat with a couple of close friends over the weekend and told them we were TTC and they both helped keep up my positive frame of mind.

Sorry I have run out of time to post to you all, will come back soon. xxx

MrsWajs · 17/05/2010 16:11

Good news in the Wajs camp today Temp this morning still down (around 36.2) was planning on disregarding it as had quite an unsettled nights sleep (awake since 3.30am etc) but then got up and did OPK and it was positive - HURRAH! First time I've managed to catch a positive for months so I was pretty chuffed! Much babies to be made tonight me thinks! Just hoping now that I get a temp spike tomorrow and it'll mean I've got ov nailed this month, still doesn't necessarily mean I'll get a BFP to follow, I know, but just happy to be back on track a bit. That'll make a second 30 day cycle for me after the long one.
Now swithering about First Responsing this month as I have my friends hen night on the 29th of the month which would put me at CD27 and obviously don't want to go out and get drunk if I'm possibly pg but then again shouldn't really drink at all incase I get a false negative but on the other hand don't want to be sober all night if I'm def not pg!!! Decisions!? God I can feel the 2ww mentalness creeping up on me already and I haven't even ov'd yet! And I've been so good the last 2 months too, oh well I guess it's allowed once in a while!

Anyway s'nuff about me! How is everyone else? I've posted on your thread kaloki very inspired by your dress making plans!!

Sorry AF got you zippys glad though that your cycles seem to be regulating a bit.

Cavemum Happy belated birthday from me too Your necklace sounds amazing! Tres

Halo Hope today goes well for you and thanks for the encouragement recently, it's muchly appreciated considering all you've been going through yourself

womanly Sorry you got BFN

takethatlady Sorry haven't ventured over to EWCM yet - might go after this! ;)

And flick hope you have that marking finished up now!! Think I am going to try FF after all as I'm excited at the prospect of it putting lines and things on charts for you automatically!! I'm a geek! Quite liking temping as well now I seem to have the hang of it!!

Might as well do stats while I'm here, so hello to anyone I've missed and I'll pop back on later

Forgot, can whoever is updating stats next change me to cycle 8. Forgot to say that when AF arrived last.

wakarimasen · 17/05/2010 18:55

Hello,

I am really getting into the swing of this now. I have been temping using FF and its so interesting!! I am so much more aware of my body's signs as OV aaproaches. Think I OV'd yesterday as had a couple of tiny flecks of blood on tissue so went at it hammer and tongs. Just got to wait and see if my chart agrees with that in the next few days. Its like fortune telling - love it!

haloflo · 17/05/2010 20:18

kaloki thanks I've looked at your thread and have no favourites as i'm rubbish at choosing clothes but want to say again how impressed I am with you making your own wedding dress.

zippys Sorry AF is painful. Hope you managed to get through the worst of it today.

MrsWajs A postive OPK! Good news. I hope you are planning/ taking part in a SWI session as I write this. Its totally up to you on drinking for the hen night - maybe see how you feel on the night symtom wise. Personally I'd drink and try not to get drunk/fall over etc, Nothing like boring sober night out to gaurantee a BFN.

Thanks for the encouragement about work today. Same to you flick. It was fine. Same old and only had to relive the experience briefly in a return to work interview. Then could just get on with things quietly which suited me just fine. Am actually feeling much brighter today and pretty sure i'm going to go ahead with SWI this cycle although not sure I'll temp. I have a few more days to decide yet.

womanly Sorry about BFN. I hope its too early to tell. My AF symtoms usually start a week before AF is due so maybe you will get your BFP in a few days.

Re dinky I've not seen her but I don't post on any other thread. I hope she is ok.

wakarimasen Glad you are liking FF and got lots of SWI in yesterday. I hope your temp matches up tomorrow.

Ariesgirl · 17/05/2010 20:22

Hello all. Hope you're all well.

Am in a bit of a limbo non-place at the moment, in all areas of my life.

Cavie I'm very envious of your necklace - it sounds beautiful. MrsW - could you not be designated driver or something? Besides a couple of drinks really doesn't hurt, but it's up to you of course. Hi to everyone else.

MrsWajs · 17/05/2010 22:36

Aries would love to be designated driver but it's not really that kinda night - more of a '25 crazy drunk women in a limo out on the town' night out! Think am just gonna wait and see, as DP kindly reminded me tonight - I am jumping the gun slightly!!

Halo I do believe I was partaking in a bit of SWI when you posted (tee-hee TMI) and will be having a bash at a bit more later on Didn't actually think of my drinking dilemma in that light but you're right, not drinking will almost certainly guarantee a BFN so by the law of sod - if I drink I will get a BFP!! Result!

CaveMum · 18/05/2010 06:58

Morning all, looks to be another sunny day here is Suffolk!

MrsWajs - I recall Reading something that said, technically, you cannot pass anything on to your baby until a placenta has grown. As this takes a few weeks to form you can, in theory, drink without causing any problems. Of course I am not suggesting you should knock back a few bottles of vino every night, but reasonable drinking on one night is unlikely to cause any long term problems.

I know of several women who drank heavily in the first month or two as they didn't realise they were pregnant. No damage was done.

Of course it us up to you. Perhaps you can appoint yourself as the one that orders the drinks from the bar?that way you can ensure you get a soft drink in every now and then. It is pretty easy to pretend a glass of orange juice is a vodka and orange or that a glass of coke has some JD in it, etc.

OneOf8 · 18/05/2010 07:18

Good morning - was going to post last night but a loony was demanding all my attention.

Halo Hope you are doing ok? You sound really strong, and glad you are able to remain positive

Cavey last thing I was brought was washing powder as "it was on offer and you like this one" - errr no, this is bold 2 in 1 we use powder + conditioner... "but the box is the same You are very lucky, and need to pass on the training tips to me (and anyone else needing them?)

Flick How's the mountain? I always thought my marks depended on my teachers mood - how true is this?

Kaloki Dresses are all wonderful - love the styles! Personally love the dramatic necklines in 5 (red one) but think the blue one in 4 would really suit you

MrsWajs I only tried opk right at the start, then realised I had no hope till reg cycles

Pinkie hope your ok - glad things are sorted

Well my big news was I got a BFP yesterday at the doctors whilst asking for painkillers. After last weeks BFN, I have drunk a few glasses everynight, and took ibuprofen all day sunday and Monday. Not the best start, but if any of you do get a second wave of what isn't but could be (iyswim?) fertile cm, this is the only symptom i have. I still have cramps so not sure what this means - but gp said not to worry about the last week.

Still in shock, so will post later x

Congrats oneof8. I am really happy for you.
Thank you MrsWajs and haloflo - I am still here at Day 31 not knowing what's up -- not sure when to POAS... would it make sense to just give it another week?

CaveMum · 18/05/2010 07:37

Oneof8!!!!!!! How fantastic! Congratulations!

If I were you that's the first thing I'd gave put in my post - in big FAT capital letters!

As I said to MrsWajs, I wouldn't stress too much about the drinking.
So, how did your other half react?! Was he the silent, contemplative type or the "Me man. Me impregnate woman" type

I'm so excited for you!

oneof8 Congratulations! Thats brillant news! I did wonder about your increased CM (not in a weird way or anything!) I've read cramps early on are just your body expanding and making way for a LO. Try not to worry too much about everything although its hard. What your next steps? Do you need an early scan to be dated? I'm doing ok, thank you for asking.

womanly Try to hold out as long as you can - maybe til the weekend if a week seems too long away. Remember the longer you wait the more pregnant you could be. You said you have AF symptoms? You feeling anything else?

mrswajs Twice in one night? Thats dedication! Hope you had a lovely evening

haloflo - hope my over-excitement (at someone elses pregnancy - I need to get a life!) wasn't insensitive. I am prone to opening my gob first and thinking later .

womanly I'd suggest you have a look at the 'Step away from the first-response' thread. Someone has posted the stats (I think on the first page) of how accurate the early tests are - I was shocked at some of the stats!

I hope to be back later on to catch up a bit.

Love to all

PS. Marks kind of depend on how I am feeling, although not a conscious way of course ;)
