A new thread! This is for anyone who is trying to conceive their first child - anyone welcome!

The current stats list is shown below, UCL means usual cycle length, and CD is cycle day.

In theory the person who starts the thread gets a BFP before the end, but I'll just be happy to get AF turn up again!

Evening all, here I am slightly less shaky & ready for a full post. I just the test on a whim after work and was so convinced it would be negative that it really took me back.

Firstly thank you so much for your congratulations. It feels good to share the news. I will pop over to the grads thread later to introduce myself even though it feels totally unreal (apart from the nausea - that is defiantly real)

lucky I'm coming with you this time! Only a few weeks behind you. I had lost hope on Monday so thank you for saying my temp dive wasn't to bad as that kept me going. Your CBFM is defiantly lucky! I was going to email you about returning it although I am happy to send it on if that's ok with you. I actually have 14 sticks left so can send them on to the next person too.

flick CBFM's work!!! I know we said low temps happen after bad nights sleep clearly I was just being paranoid after Monday's and Tuesday's being a little lower. I think I may put the thermometer down tomorrow as I don't want to panic myself with a fluctuation.

womanly I've only been temping one month too but I would suggest you haven't yet ovulated. CM might have indicated impending ovulation but your body might have had other ideas. My post ov temps have been 36.5 - 36.9 and my pre ov's were 35.9 - 36.2 so very similar to yours. My temp dipped on the day of ovulation but just for the one day. Try not to pressure yourself over SWI'ing, I think you still have time this month.

cherry Its kinda sinking in but I just want to fast forward a few weeks so I know everything is more likely to be ok. Thanks for the congrats

aires and kkas fingers crossed that good things come in 3's for frolickers!

kaloki good news about the back specialist. I really hope you get your diagnosis & then some steps on how to feel better.

pipsicles Do you have a BBT thermometer now? I think you do need one although it can just be to one decimal place, not two. You never know when ovulation will happen, maybe just around the corner. I also hope that the hen weekend will be more fun that you think right now.

I've decided to update the stats - scary stuff.

pipsicles sorry that you're feeling down. I think we all go through times when we feel like nothing is going right. Hope things start to look up soon.

Aries there is no way we're letting you forget about Adrian!

hairytriangle · 05/05/2010 20:50

Thanks all of you, I'm SO glad I have found you guys (via my wonderful sister who is expecting her first baby ) thanks for all of your wonderful support.
x

luckyseven · 05/05/2010 20:58

Yay! haloflo my former cycle buddy will be a baby buddy too!

So the CBFM eventually worked for me and after lending it to haloflo it worked for her first time! If anyone who has regular enough cycles wants to give it a try next month then send an e mail to [email protected] and haloflo can forward it to you with sticks and I can get an address and telephone number so that i get it back again to use in the future.

For more info on it have a look here

Florin · 05/05/2010 21:11

Can I join you lovely ladies?
I am 26 and gave up the pill at the beginning of January. We were going to wait a few months before trying but then couldn't wait and started in February. Had my first af on 12 February and then the next one wasn't until 01 April! Still haven't had another one since then so feeling very fed up as no idea where I am. Does anyone think this is a problem or is my body just settling down after being on the pill for the last 10 years? I am pretty sure before I was on the pill my af was quite regular but to be honest it was a long time ago! As I am sure the rest of you are I am desperate to get pregnant and all this waiting and not knowing is driving me made and seems to consume my ever waking moment, I even seem to dream about it! Anyway hope I can wait it out with you all!

Ariesgirl · 05/05/2010 21:15

Um, am not sure these things will happen in 3's. Think I feel AF approaching. So gutted.

CaveMum · 05/05/2010 21:21

Aries keeping everything crossed for you. Lots of positive vibes coming your way.

Florin welcome! Of course you can join in! Plenty of ladies on here have had to endure irregular cycles after coming off the pill, so don't worry too much. I think they say it can take 6 months for the hormones to completely leave your system. Not liking the sound of that myself as I only came off the pill last week!
If you post your stats I'm sure someone will add you to tomorrows list.

Florin · 05/05/2010 21:37

Thanks for the welcome Cavegirl good luck with coming off the pill. For me it meant my boobs reduced a size (a good thing for me!) and I had mood swings skin was a bit changable too cleared up and then was awful, but guess that is normal with the hormones going up and down. Hope it all goes smoothly for you!
Be glad to hear of anyone elses experiences of coming off the pill!
Its not over till af turns up Ariesgirl. Friend of mine at work was telling me that when she was first pregnant it felt like her af was due any minute.

Florin · 05/05/2010 21:40

forgot to say my stats are
Florin TTC#1 Cycle 2 UCL ??? CD34

LankyLegs · 05/05/2010 22:16

Halo that is absolutely brilliant news! Congratulations and enjoy every moment of the feeling! Am so very pleased for you.

You girls are all really nice and supportive ? it?s great to have this thread to check into and read/contribute to.

Hairy - good luck for tomorrow! Hope it goes really well ? sounds promising 

Hi Florin and Waki I just joined the other day too so welcome!

Kaloki pleased about your good news too! Hey ? it?s just as important getting you back sorted. Takes ages to get referrals on the NHS

Good luck to everyone else waiting for BFPs 

LankyLegs · 05/05/2010 22:18

Oops -sorry about typo's below!

MrsWajs · 05/05/2010 23:08

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!! Congrats to Flo I had a feeling this was your month!! Sooo chuffed for you!! Now get that CBFM in the post to me thank you please!!

And also wow for hairytriangle keeping everything crossed for your bean to stick!! Surely your positive thinking on the whole matter has paid off!

Just a very quick post as is bed time for me!! Nighty night girls.x

MrsWajs · 05/05/2010 23:12

Oooh just noticed the rest of lucky's post, are we really gonna be posting the lucky CBFM around the country?? If so you can be expecting an email from me in the morning!!

felicityFlick · 06/05/2010 05:49

I?ve been having a shit morning (sorry for my language!), feeling like crap, hating work, blah, blah, blah so I thought I'd give myself a bit of MN time to catch up with the goings on whilst I was asleep and what do I see?!!!

OMG so much good news that I am fully cheered up and about to burst! Huge congratulations to flo I'm sooooooo pleased for you!! I just knew it but didn't want to get you too excited!!! Yay for you and CBFM! I can't wait to crack mine out in June now! I think it is so lovely that the lucky CBFM is going to be jet setting round the country. You are such a love lucky to lend it out xxx Please don't leave us though- we need your TCOYF advice. Although we will now where to look for you if we need you!

hairy This is fantastic news- fingers firmly crossed. My good friend bled all through her pregnancy and everything was fine. I was also reading a thread about it the other day. I have just gone to get the link to the thread and seen that you've posted on it already my friend has posted on there with her positive outcome. Fingers firmly crossed for you.

kaloki great news for you too! That must be such a relief to be finally getting somewhere with your back. I hope that your appointment comes quickly and that you're soon feeling better.

Welcome to florin- Everyone is so lovely here. I really enjoy logging on each day and catching up on all the goings on. I hope that does not make me a sad cyber geek ??!! I came off my pill in Nov and my cycles have been a bit all over the place since then and are just seeming to settle into a pattern now. I found that tempeature charting really helps me see any patterns and at least makes me feel like I am doing something! It is so frustrating feeling like you don?t know what your body is doing so I really empathise with you on that one.

Mrswajs- congrats on your DP?s new job! Really pleased for you. Fingers crossed that this cycle will be lucky for you and that it is a short one too. Is the ash cloud coming back again then? Oh no- I really hope not. I still shudder thinking of that horrible time when we had the pils stuck with us! I hope there is no more disruption caused. Whereabouts are you going? Sorry If you?ve said and I?ve missed it! Are you on FF yet? I think you?d like it as it shows you on your graph when you?ve ovulated so you don?t have to worry about it yourself.

Aries- Sorry to hear that you think AF is approaching. You always hear stories that people are certain AF is coming and then go onto get their BFP so it might be part of the symptoms? I really am sending positive vibes your way and hoping for a positive update today.

Kkas- hope all still well with you and that you?re not so tired.

Cave-How?s temping going? Are you still excited?!! It feels liks such a nice secret when you come off the pill doesn?t it?

Pips- Sorry you?re feeling blue. I feel the same when I hear about pregnant people. I think It?s only normal when you are trying yourself. How did your DH get on with his interview in Kent the other week? With regards to temping, are you using FF? Like I said to mrsw it?s the best way of recording the temps I think as it looks at your chart and then decided when you have ovulated based on all of your signs. I think I would get very muddled if I was temping and trying to interpret them myself but then again my brain is not good with numbers My temp only increases slightly after OV so I am not sure if I would notice if I was recording the temps myself but FF picks it up (and has bene pretty accurate with AF arriving the correct amount of days after)so maybe you have but were expecting a huge rise and it was only a small one? I hope that youa re able to relax and unwind at the hen weekend! I should be on one too this weekend but as I am not in the UK I have to miss out

Oneof8- I agree that setting yourself small TTC milestones is the way forward. I also am very puzzled by my body as it seems to ovulate (according to FF) anyday between 11 and 19 so it?s hard to predict a pattern. At least I?ll have my CBFM to help when I start trying ☺ am very excited about this- especially after all the good stories I?ve heard! I understand you frustrations!

Zippys- Hi! Hope you?re ok

Hope you?re feeling better pinkie and haven?t thrown up anymore. Have you still been teaching when you?re poorly?

Hi to Cherry and Claire and all the grads and anyone else I?ve missed. Hope you all have a good Thursday and that the approach to the weekend brings us some more BFPs

xxx

felicityFlick · 06/05/2010 06:13

Oh sorry- I meant to say Evil, I'm really glad that your doctors are taking you seriously and that you're having more tests. Great news that all seems normal so far too- keeping my fingers crossed for more good results next week and hoping that AF will turn up before then

CaveMum · 06/05/2010 07:08

Morning all! Hope you all remember to vote today. Think I shall go on my way home from work as I can't be arsed to get ready to leave the house 15mins early

Felicity you are always so good about posting a reply to everyone! I'm rubbish, I try to commit a few things to memory and then muddle people up! It doesn't help that I post from my iPhone.

Anyway, yes you're right about my little secret! The only person that knows, other than DH & you guys, is my best mate. She was so excited when I told her. I hadn't meant to tell her right away as she has so much on her plate with her mum being ill, but she kept asking questions so I gave in! Obviously I have the breaking point of a KitKat!

Anywho, Aries hope all is well with you. Fingers and toes are firmly crossed for you and hairytriangle - hope your appointment goes well.

Right must go and wrap these presents for tomorrows baby shower as I won't have a chance tonight. In the end I went for a selection of newborn bibs for baby and a Sanctuary set for mum.

Have a good day!

SaorAlba · 06/05/2010 07:31

Hello all

I've been lurking for a while and have made the odd post over the past couple of months. This post is just to introduce myself.

I started my last pack of pills on Saturday, then we're having a month of condoms so I get a proper AF rather than a withdrawal bleed, then we'll be TTCing.

I'm ridiculously excited

If someone could add me to the 'waiting to TTC' section of the stats I would be very much obliged.

felicityFlick · 06/05/2010 08:18

Here's today's stats:

I've added florin and SaorAlba and I've moved starberries to the grads as I saw on another thread that she had had a BFP although am not sure when it was.

Droid arrived

Can we change my stats to 29-32 days? I would do it myself but am too miserable.

MrsWajs · 06/05/2010 10:15

Awwww Aries And awwww kkas too

Bloody stupid periods and negative tests!

CaveMum · 06/05/2010 10:16

Aries and kkas sorry to hear your news.

OneOf8 · 06/05/2010 11:57

bastard negative tests - maybe we should try and sue - we buy these products to see BFP's so surely under trade description they are not fit for purpose??! Seeing the BFN is always such a bummer - even when it is what?s expected.

Sorry Aires Give the witch a little slap to knock her off the broom - hopefully that will teach her??!

Only dipped in to see if any news from Hairy - This is the one benefit the office has over swimming - I have the PC all day!

Hi everyone else - I am rubbish at proper catch ups. Will pop by later

felicityFlick · 06/05/2010 12:16

Sorry for the af aries I can so imagine how gutted you are. Hang in there kkas xxx
