A new thread! This is for anyone who is trying to conceive their first child - anyone welcome!

The current stats list is shown below, UCL means usual cycle length, and CD is cycle day.

In theory the person who starts the thread gets a BFP before the end, but I'll just be happy to get AF turn up again!

Pee On A Stick!!x

MrsWajs · 01/05/2010 17:20

Just a quick post as I am meant to be getting tea ready and have a hungry stepDS trying to stick crayons in my ear!!

Just wanted to say sorry to Kaloki for AF arriving and also to hairytriangle for MC but as everyone else has already I am really impressed with the way you are handling it all!
Aries hope you are feeling less emotional soon but also hope it is a sign of impending BFP!!
Flick & Halo am continuing with the temping so far but think I haven't really been consistent enough with it this month, shift work makes it really hard and my times are allover the place, plus have had 2 nights when I was drinking and temps were high next day so not sure if they should have been disregarded or not!? Going to try a bit harder and might consider Fertility Friend again as sounds a lot more informative than the charting site I've been using! Also halo no it wasn't you that put me onto the hypothyroidism thing - I'm always cold (despite my high BBT's) and got a bit carried away with google! I thought I had some of the other symptoms too but DP informs me I'm over-reacting!! Oh and wanted to ask you too about what all the biphasic, trisphasic thing is??

Right off to cook!!!

haloflo · 01/05/2010 17:32

Biphasic is a normal pattern during your cycle, low temps before ovulation, high temps after. Triphasic is when there is a third stage of higher temps. You get them with some pregnancies as after implantation the progestrone causes your bbt to increase further. It's generally considered a good sign but there are no guarantees. Also only about 12% of pregnancy cycles go triphasic so it's not a bad thing if you don't get this on your chart.

I've found FF good for charting although it's worth mentioning you get a free month of VIP extras when you first sign up. My VIP trial is about to expire just when the extras mean something so maybe wait until you are a week or so into your next cycle before signing up. You can pay for VIP but I'm going to try & resist.

How are u feeling this month? Any idea when af might be due? ie when you are going to POAS?

CaveMum · 01/05/2010 18:18

Hi ladies! Back from the races and sad to say my horses didn't win, but I backed another in the race called MAKFI who won at 33/1! Rather pleased with that!

I also entered a prize draw to win a car at the course and got a call from the organisers to say I'd won a runner up prize of £100 free bet! Marvelous! Will have to plan what I will use that one on!

Hope you've all had a good day.

cherrycobbler · 01/05/2010 22:06

hello everyone!

halo - triphasic - ooooooh- I am REALLY excited for you in a completely low-key-trying-not-to-freak-you-out-way.... . Did you go for the VIP FF membership in the end? I joined it this month to record my temps and my VIP membership has just expired. I don't think it got my ov right - put it a couple of days later than I would have (not much of a temp rise but I get sore boobs from ov onwards and started getting twinges earlier than the second temp spurt). But I have to say I am really liking the temping, I like seeing a bit of a graph, and makes the cycle feel like it is less just waiting - if that makes sense? MrsW - you should definitely try it out - its free, and makes it all very easy to use. Hope cooking was a success and you escaped from the murderous crayons!

homebound - don't think we've met but congrats! have fingers crossed for a very happy and uneventful next nine months (well and beyond too).

Have been very lax at keeping up so going to be lazy and just say - large slice of chocolate cake and glass of wine to everyone feeling a bit rubbish - and aries hope you have perked up a bit (your symptom spotting sounds promising to me - any more signs?). Kaloki sorry about AF's arrival. Pinkie - can't believe you are still waiting, and doc was so unhelpful. When you are exhausted from running around a multitude of your overactive DC's (yes, when), you will think back on your long wait and envy your former self being able to have lie ins and go to the loo by yourself and without a little one...

Cavemum - £100! What are you going to spend it on?? If its winnings its not sensible money... so many exciting options!

Nothing exciting from me. Pre-AF cramping has started for me, I have POAS'd and it was negative, so am resigned to AF's arrival tomorrow or Mon and getting myself feeling positive about next cycle. Sigh. Having breakfast with my best friend tomorrow morning though at a cafe that apparently do amazing pancakes so at least I can look forward to that.

cherrycobbler · 01/05/2010 22:08

ps also wanted to say - sorry hairtriangle to hear about your MC, but as everyone else has said - what an inspirational attitude. Hope you're still feeling ok and focussing on the positive xx

PinkiePoo · 02/05/2010 08:43

hairtirangle wow....of course i am echoing everyone else but your strength is incredible, i think we can all learn something from your attitude. I am ever so sorry that this has happened though.....and it will happen again soon my lovely x x

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words re docs. I am ok about it, and lets face f**k all i can do about it, so i will chill out and enjoy the freedom i have. Haven't read everyones posts yets, as about to shoot off to teaching (yes i know its sunday, but those pesky kids apparently like dancing ), and the OH has only buggered off to X FACTOR audtion today in London....will keep you posted.

Will pop back on later to read nosey on everyone else. xx

PinkiePoo · 02/05/2010 08:45

hairtriangle just re-read my message to you...when i say it will happen again, i mean falling preggers. Hope you know that.....and carrying full term x x

CaveMum · 02/05/2010 08:53

Morning ladies! A rather cool and damp day in Suffolk today. Going to the races could be interesting!
cherrycobbler the £100 I won is being put into a betting account for me so I'll have to plan how I am going to use it. I don't have to spend it all in one go so may just have lots of small bets and have some fun with it!

pinkie hope today's lessons go well - as well as your OH's X-Factor audition!

hairytriangle · 02/05/2010 10:46

Thaks PinkiePoo yes I realised that LOL thank youuuu! x

takethatlady · 02/05/2010 15:00

Hi everyone,

Woah this thread moves fast. I haven't been on for a couple of days but it looks like there's been a lot of action. At my end it's now day 21 of cycle 1 ttc. Sick of waiting to test, but had really bad cramps like period pains all day yesterday and on Friday evening. I'm sure this means absolutely nothing - probably just some dodgy prawns I had on Friday night!

Fingers crossed for everybody
xx

takethatlady · 02/05/2010 15:07

Whoops - it's Sunday, so that means day 22. Yippee.

Ariesgirl · 02/05/2010 15:10

I'm on day 28. No sign.

felicityFlick · 02/05/2010 15:28

aries.......

hairytriangle · 02/05/2010 15:58

ariesgirl

Ariesgirl · 02/05/2010 16:06

Please, no more ...I'm waiting and seeing . Last cycle was 32 days but I think it was anovulatory...or whatever the feckin word is! This month I definitely ov-ed.

cherrycobbler · 02/05/2010 16:28

aries ... i ain't saying anything but.....

AF has arrived for me today - but had lovely day with friend (breakfast turned into whole day of chilling out) so feeling fairly upbeat.

pinkie - hope audition went well for OH!

hope everyone has had lovely Sundays

CaveMum · 02/05/2010 17:56

Aries I too am saying nothing ..............

mumnerves · 02/05/2010 18:00

junglebob, claireinthecommunity kaloki and cherrycobbler sorry about AF arriving.

hairytriangle big hugs for you. So sorry to hear about the MC, as everyone else has said, you've got such a fantastic outlook, it's really inspirational!

pinkie good luck to your OH for his audition. I'm just catching up on last saturdays show now Sorry to hear you feel so down, the journey is hard but you will get there eventually.

claire196 I love rooibos tea too Not sure about the vanilla but not seen the chai one, sounds nice so will keep my eye out for it!

aries keeping my fingers crossed for you!

kaloki how lovely to get married in a zoo! That was my ambition but we couldn't afford it at the time. Our wedding was low key and we only had 11 guests but it was lovely and cozy and if I had to do it again I wouldn't change a thing! I got my dress over the internet and it was better than any dress I've seen so far, so good luck, it's your wedding and good on you doing it how you want it

haloflo I'm 8 weeks now, thanks for asking. Can't wait to get my scan appointment to see if my bean is ok. Hope the temping brings a good conclusion for you this cycle

Welcome to all the newbies and have a lovely weekend everyone!

Cherry Sorry about AF. Glad you are feeling positive. I think if when AF comes this month I'll just see if as a temping learning curve. I've not gone for VIP membership on FF although I am missing all the perks already so watch this space! Are you going to get it? One thing I didn't like was the way it encouraged symptom spotting like: 25% of pregnant women had this sympton, and early testing: 40% of women got a positive test before whatever dpo.

mumsnerves I bet that's really hard waiting for the first scan. I'm always jealous of people who only just find at 8 weeks or so - lots less waiting around! Although least you can work on looking after your bean though whereas they might not have been. Good luck when you have it.

cavemum Well done on the £100! With a combination of your luck and meticulous planning I reckon you are going to get your BPF first time!

takethatlady I'm not sure i've said hello to you yet - so hello! I know how you feel with symptom spotting , I hope your cramps are a good sign.

aires Fingers crossed!

As for me - plenty of symptoms, most likely PMT but fingers crossed they aren't. nausea, tiredness, off my usual Saturday night beer and suddenly I'm convinced my wee smells (sorry tmi if you are eating your tea)

I think I might bring testing forward to Thursday, if no AF by then & my temps stay nice and high. (That would be CD 28 & either 14/16 dpo) I actually foolishly did an OPK as a test earlier and it was very very negative. Clearly that means nothing but has done enough to get my inner crazy baby lady down.

CaveMum · 02/05/2010 20:15

haloflo here's hoping your symptoms are of the right kind.
This thread has had a quiet spell on the BFP front so here's hoping homebound has started a trend!

Fingers crossed for everyone due to POAS in the near future.

Kaloki · 02/05/2010 20:55

OOh aries.... fingers crossed for you!

zippys · 02/05/2010 21:14

Posting from phone, but just wanted to say huge congrats to homebound.

And also it looks like we may have a few more bfp's to come over the next few days. Keeping my fingers crossed.

cherrycobbler · 02/05/2010 21:20

halo my VIP membership ran out yesterday and I am also missing all the perks! I was thinking I would "treat" myself to it for cycle 6 if no luck in the next two cycles. My life is SUPER fun. And - keep the symptom spotting coming! You have to hope each month - and at least here no one will think you're completely bonkers to obsess about mild nausea/ funny smelling wee/ boobs that are only sore because you've prodded them so much to check if they are more sore or bigger than usual. I have my fingers crossed for you and your triphasic chart anyway And thanks for updating the list!

Just back from cinema (Iron Man - completely escapist fun!) and may pop out for a Sunday drink with DH - I really do love Bank Holidays.
