Hello world!

OP posts:
gailforce1 · 29/05/2010 20:39

Think I read somewhere that you are supposed to salute Magpies and say "Good Evening" but that would mean uncovering your eyes/unblocking ears!! Or get someone else to look for a second one then uncover/unblock!!

hippychick66 · 29/05/2010 20:45

Have decided to add the two together - no one can say it was defo the same one twice. Thus the one earlier and this one = joy!!

There sorted.

Anyone out there watching the Eurovision Song Contest (probably not you gum).

I have to say that i'm not watching but one of my sad friends is!!!

rainbowdays · 29/05/2010 20:48

hippy hey, great news, so happy for you, and excited too, this is it you are pregnant and you must think lovely positive dreams of your baby to come.

Just to clarify the chemical pregnnacy thing, a chemical pregnancy is one that can be detected chemically by blood or urine tests, but is too early to be seen on the scan. Once able to be seen on the scan it is no longer a chemical pregnancy (but brain can't remember what it is called after that point!). The baby can normally be seen on the scan somewhere between 4 and 5 weeks. Most chemical pregnancies happen before the period is due, but can be upto 5 weeks. After that it would be called a miscarriage.

However, we are not going to even think of such things while we have good news here.

I love hearing of all the bfp's we get here. And yes diege - who is going to be next?

rainbowdays · 29/05/2010 20:48

Sorry hippy, I forgot to add my 's

hippychick66 · 29/05/2010 21:10
  • right back at ya rainbow Thanks - you're all fab!
Diege · 29/05/2010 21:50

Psychic powers aren't renowned I should say, though I will wear the title with pride . Used to work with Kieran who does GB's Most haunted and he told me I was the most unpsychic person he had even met . Still, I've broekn my duck now
Right, better get back to score card.Only 2 songs left before the excitement begins! My money is on Cyprus!

randomimposter · 29/05/2010 22:01

arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I have been climbing the walls waiting for DP to return from London with laptop (yeah we only have one too, actually there are two but he seems to monopolise both ). Read your news Hippy on my phone earlier but couldn't post!!!!!!!!!!! Virtually wrestled him to the ground as he walked through the door!!!

SO happy for you my lovely - as they say may the next 8 months be dull, dull, dull.... What terrrrrriiiiiifffffic news!!!

Right have another batch of brownies in the oven so can't stay, but quick floury wave to all xx

PS happy birthdays to Diege and Polly too - sorry forgot before

PPS cheers Alba x

rowingboat · 29/05/2010 23:27

Hi all,
finally sitting down and checking in to see Hippy you did it you crazy chick. I'm laughing and DP is looking at me as if I'm plotting a coup.
I did think your symptoms did sound very convincingly like pg symptoms, particularly over the past couple of days.
I agree with Jollster

So who's next then.

Actually I'm now in a grumpy mood because you are all going to bggr off and leave me here. [looks very sorry for self indeed as everyone skips off to pg threads, waving]
It's nice on here at the moment with this group, don't you think!

[Slopes off to hut of doom so as to avoid ruining the fun.]

Is anyone voting for a song on the Eurovision?

ghenghismaam · 30/05/2010 00:27

Hippy YAY you (and your DH) did it!! Fab news - I may need to get out the hoop earrings too, as at the time you were posting your news I randomly thought -'I wonder if Hippy's posted her BFP news yet...' I then buggered off and didn't check until now!
Been to see Sex & the city 2 -fab fab film .
Rowing I'm not going anywhere unless have acheived immaculate conception type thing this month.........

gumblossom · 30/05/2010 04:08

Oooh! Hurray for Hippy!!!I just KNEW it would be good news. Congratulations! So happy for you. Relax, hydrate and enjoy!

I feel so positive about my own chances seeings I'm also a "66" baby. Can't wait to be pregnant with you all.

I went out for drinks at a wine bar last night with my "knitting" group.I just started the group. None of us brought our knitting!!!Just had a pleasant evening with lovely glasses of wine. Next time we'll bring knitting. And next weekend I'm flying off to the city for my girl's (read 'old women') weekend. Looking forward to that too.Feel like I have a new lease on life, so look-out DH, the SWI will start in about a week!

hippy I hope this is the start of a run of bfp's.

So, come one Mystic Deige, who's next?

gumblossom · 30/05/2010 04:29

Oh, P.S. Hippy, have you been doing anything, taking any supplements etc to boost fertility?

Just in case there's something else I could be doing....

clareanna · 30/05/2010 07:16

hippy jolls told us your news o the mc thread- soo pleased for you - congratulations - wishing you no magpies and a stress free 9months x

hairytriangle · 30/05/2010 18:03

oh Hippy congratulations I am so pleased for you!

sorry not to name chec everyone, but been busy and feel yuk.

Day 11 in the big bleeding house, and I spoke too soon - bleeding tapered off, went brown and then came back accompanied with cramps, with a vengeance and is now red again could this be AF immediately following MC?

hairytriangle · 30/05/2010 18:05

PS: no sure what you meant on Friday about 'discussion of the day'?????!!!

Diege · 30/05/2010 19:42

Hello! Hairy, look to the right of the page and ypou'll se you discussion fromAIBU re: 40 tr old mums under Discussion of the Day . I'd not worry too much about the bleeding yet - see if it settles. It may will be af though - must be confusing but hopefully things will be clearer during next few days x
Gumblossom I will need to have a list of runners and riders for the next month before I cast my mystic eye over the thread
Genghis, so SATC2 worth a watch? Really enjoyed no.1 which I only saw a few weeks ago so nice to have a sequel come around so fast
Rowing I predict you have every much a chance of joining the pregnancy threads as everyone else, although I agree it is nice on here
Hello to everyone else xx
Very tiring day today, but have dds and ds in bed so hopefully we can veg out in front of tv. Dh has other ideas though and even though it's only cd 8 have to show willing iyswim. I just hope he doesn't peak too early as he has a week full pretty soon!

rainbowdays · 30/05/2010 20:25

hairy - sorry you are bleeding again, unfortunately m/c's can be very stop-start, and last a long time. Many people mistake it for an early af, but it is just the finish of the m/c. But hopefully it won't be too much longer for you.

rowing - is that negativity about being left alone from pmt coming from you?!!! or just early preggo signs

rowingboat · 30/05/2010 21:57

Hi all,

Hairy, not sure what that bleeding is, but the hormones do take a while to settle after this kind of thing. I suspect you will have to weather the storm (rather boring though, waiting for bleeding to stop).
Sorry you are feeling yuck, have a nice cup of cocoa or something like that.

Deige are you at the predictions again! Madame De'ige, tells your fortune, step inside!
Bless your DH, better make the most of it before he crawls home on all fours next week.

Rainbow, who know! I do know that I have never eaten so much in 48 hours, it's like being possessed. Feel a bit moby dick now!

I'm hoping to get it together tomorrow and do a bit of cutting back on the stodge - have to really, there's no food left in the house.

Hippy how's the hippy family Mexican wave going around the sitting room?

Ghengis I meant to ask you about your school situation? Are you going to have another go at appealing or find an alternative school?
Does your area keep a little cache of extra, catchment places for after school starts, for children moving into the area?
It's a nightmare all this school stuff, but to be honest when we applied for our second choice I did think that it would probably make no odds to DS, but it was I who would miss my mates from our 'nursery' school.

rowingboat · 30/05/2010 21:58

Hairy I meant to say, I did see your thread and it's still there in the top 5, unlike the UK's song at the Eurovision. Was that last place we secured!

OP posts:
hairytriangle · 30/05/2010 22:09

fifteen minutes of fame then!

Rainbowdays apparently MC bleeds can last a very long time. Just when I thought it was ending and I could get back to normal... however, I am learning all the time, and will just have to wait and see ... and won't trust any less than a complete stop from now on!

rowingboat · 30/05/2010 22:48

Hairy I know, I was going to post, just to say 'I know her: Hairy'. Or on some other thread to say 'have you seen MY MATE Hairy's thread?'
Fame by association.

hairytriangle · 31/05/2010 07:11

LOL LOL wow I feel really important LOL! and I'm still a newbie!

On another note, I've just read up on molar pregnancy - partial miscarriage, slow rising hcg, big bleeding and a drop to 100.

I really, really hope my hcg is down again on Tues, but I POAS yesterday and it's still positive.

Website I read said molar pregnancy needs a d&c

Diege · 31/05/2010 11:02

Morning . Sorry you're feeling so down Hairy . You need to stop googling though - is there any reason from what the medics say to suspect a molar pregnancy? Would'nt your hcg levels initially have been through the roof if this was the case? Sorry if I'm stating the obvious/you've already been through this with the drs. I really hope you can get some answers and peace of mind soon xx
Quiet day today (though often the hardest with everyine at home!). Ocado van highlight of the day, then must try and get some more bits listed on e-bay. Hope everyone's ok x

hairytriangle · 31/05/2010 12:33

Diege thank you - I just read up that if you have a short bleed, followed by a longer bleed about twenty days later, it could be Molar, but usually, it's accompanied by MASSIVE hcg and I've got teensy hcg. They saw absolutely nothing on the last scan (although I do have worry that something is hiding in my tilted womb). I'll chat to the docs tomorrow when I have my HCG tested again.

And yes, I need to stop googling! LOL

and Rowing don't worry I bet I'll be here longer than you!! LOL!! xxx

Diege · 31/05/2010 13:29

No probs Hairy . I'm no expert, but what you said about your hcg levels didn't fit with what I've read about molar pregnancies. A very good friend sadly had 2 molar pregnancies, one after the other, so have picked up a little from just listening really.
Well, the weather has picked up here so we're off out to the local park which also has a children's zoo. Dh is keen to SWI again tonight (although only cd 9 ) and while I am quite stringent with my 'every other day' during fertile times, I suppose it wouldn't do any harm to bend the rules this once. Bless him,he's being extra nice too...I've said as long as he can fit it in in between double corrie and GB Got Talent, then I'll think about it..
Ds just woken up, better go!

hippychick66 · 31/05/2010 14:40

Hello all. Did another test this morning and guess what ... still pregnant. The trouble with the digital ones is that the words disappear after 24 hours and you begin to wonder if you had imagined the whole flippin' thing!

It still says 1 -2 weeks but I am NOT going to let that worry me. I don't think they are that acurate and I'm probably only just over the 2 week point.

gum i've been taking B6 to lengthen LP - never worked but 'ho hum' and pregnacare pre-conception. today I went and bought the ones for once you are actually pregnant(little things please me). I'm sure the young spotty lad at the checkout in Tescos was thinking, what does an old bird like her need these for????? haha

hairy step away from the molar pregnancy stuff - it will do your head in. I started reading all about them after my mmc. Unless someone very official in a white coat tells you yours was a molar pregnancy you do NOT need to be worrying about it. Please, I know how hard it is not to read up on this stuff but even my GP told me to get off google after i lost my last pregnancy.

rowing I'm not going anywhere honey (I'm dead comfy here). I am certainly not ready to graduate anywhere to the moment. Plus I really like this thread, we are all at different stages of ttc and we all have different stuff going on - the one thing that links us all is that we are all children of the 60's (apart from those whipper snappers diege and polly!!!!)

Oh by the way rowing - not long after i ovulated (somewhere around inplantation I would guess) I had a day when I couldn't stop eating and even the girl who sits next to me at work laughed about how much I was gnoshing!!!! Just a thought .

Love to all, especially our famous hairy who needs extra hugs(please change that name!!!!!)
