The Palace is open and the anti-freeze is flowing - Blue Bols 50p a shot! Two for one on Archers and orange, for the classy BESHies (the ones who keep their hats on whilst undergoing an internal examination).

We have Vampire Bill and Brian Cox in the Dungeon, and David Mitchell and Brian Eno tending the bar....

Muse I'm sorry my timing is so shite. I hope you're ok. I still don't actually believe the sticks.

TwinkleToes76 · 18/02/2010 09:17

Fantastic news Honey!

Will be thinking of you today Muser.

ginhag · 18/02/2010 09:18

honey is not your fault! And like I said always good to hear some good news!

Just means there may be a delay on nekkid dancing (and as there is a blizzard here that is prib a good thing...)

I am officially Sick Of Winter.

iggypiggy · 18/02/2010 09:21

muse as everyone has already said - that's fucking shit am so so sorry - am thinking of you - hope you looking after yourself and that MrM is too. Proper hugs from me too x

Ocarina · 18/02/2010 09:48

Yay honey, it's great to hear some good news.

Muser hope all is uncomplicated today.

News from here is that droid has arrived. So much for hoping for a sensible length luteal phase - 8 days is a bit short right? (Thus far being annoyed about that is masking bigger annoyance of droid having arrived at all)

Scorpette · 18/02/2010 09:57

Congrats Honey

Muesli, hope today is a better day, sweetie. Be gentle with yourself.

RunLyraRun · 18/02/2010 10:05

Muse, so sorry it turned out like this. Three months off SWI and no booze is SHIT, there's no denying it. Thank goodness they've finally found it though.

Honeymoo, happy for you

Ocarina, I'm with you, droid arrived last night - 23 day cycle, WTF??

iggypiggy · 18/02/2010 10:23

Also congrats to honeymoo v. good news

Muser · 18/02/2010 10:29

Please don't let my crapness stop the honeymoo celebrations. I am trying to avoid becoming a bitter hag as well as a barren one.

I'm already in trouble for not being as thrilled as MrM that his other sister is trying. Afraid my reaction was "great, so everyone else will have baybees and I'll be the mad cat lady". Apparently it's not a race.

Headbanger · 18/02/2010 10:44

Muse you're being amazingly non-bitter acksherly. And generally stoic and strong. Although you are sort of honour bound to mutter ferociously at other women TTC, and MrM needs to realise that, fo sho

Ocarina · 18/02/2010 11:03

What Headcase said. At this point the last thing you need is to be supposed to be happy about other people's TTC.

Scorps I like the blaming thing. So droid is definitely due to stressful work person. Lyra what's behind yours? - definitely need something to blame for stupid cycle length.

I currently want to make a hot water bottle and curl up on the sofa with Winter Olympic highlights. Unfortunately the work to do list is way too long to allow that to happen. Grrrr.

PollyPoo · 18/02/2010 11:13

Occy and Lyra sorry bout the metal bastard. There is stuff you can take to lengthen lutuel phase - needs to be 12+ days for the baybee to implant apparently. If you want any more info, just shout - I have loads of website addresses for cheapest drucks.

Or if you have been ttc long enough, go to Doc's and tell em you have short LP. Most of them won't know what you are on about, or you may be lucky and get one who knows about fertility shiz.

Honey well done you!

PollyPoo · 18/02/2010 11:20

Muse what you are feeling is entirely understandable and to be expected. It is v hard to be pleased for someone else's news when you are going through hell. I have ongoing ishoos with SIL over ttc... gar, just thinking about it raises my blood pressure! This ttc lark can be fucking cruel and I know it ain't a race, but if bloody well feels like one sometimes.

skihorse · 18/02/2010 11:23

Muser hang on in there you'll find tons of support here and I can confirm that polly's SIL is indeed a TTC-cunt.

PollyPoo · 18/02/2010 11:39

Hehe, fanks Ski. Biatches, we seriously need a new fred title... Any suggestions?

How about...

Headbanger · 18/02/2010 11:42

Gah ocs and lycra. Sorry bout the droidage, the little rusting fucker.

Am looking forward to new fred owing to terror the OM will identify me before Cunning Name Change & cry for days

pollypoooooooooops I'm sorry you're not feeling bright and bouncing - have a grope for free. But let's have a bright and bouncing fred title or it tempts the bastard fates

Ocarina · 18/02/2010 11:44

Polly more info about the whole luteal phase thing would be great. I'm hoping it's just my body still sorting itself out post-pill and will be fine, but am realising how little I know.

Am utterly uninspired about thread titles I'm afraid.

Sorry Gin, x-post, feel bad now!

LoveInAColdClimate · 19/02/2010 19:25

Scorps - Am sure this has been dealt with elsewhere in the thread (don't have time to read whole thread, sorry) but I have had several colposcopies, and while not exactly lovely, they are fine. Do not read Wikipedia or anything similar on the subject first (as I did) as it makes it sound about a thousand times worse than it is. Slightly uncomfortable at the time, but not painful afterwards (at least not for me), but really fine - I am a total wuss but have been back in the office straight afterwards every time. HTH.
