kaloki Shagging with intent stage

AF over, not yet on 2 week wait. It's like the bit between buying a lottery ticket and waiting for the draw to happen when everything still has the potential to be different

Kaloki · 10/02/2010 13:06

Aah! Makes sense, I'm in the waiting stage, it's highly annoying

WhiteRoses · 10/02/2010 13:27

Hi Fullham - I wish! I'm only 8+2wks. Have you seen the graduates thread, by the way, over on the ante-natal board... Someone (forget who - sorry! ) mentioned you over there yesterday...

Sorry to hear you're not feeling too great. At least February's a short month - May'll be here before you know it.

I love Lilly. Actually prefer it to Lucy and Ruby, and it has the added advantage that it can be shortened. I always hated my name and was stuck with it, cause it couldn't be shortened! But you never know anyway, maybe you'll change your mind when you meet the little one!

Fudge - ugh - did I blank that out?! I hope it wasn't coming from "down there", seeing as they'd aleady cut her too... Had to laugh when baby came out actually - DH asked "what is that?!" When I told him it was the baby, he wanted to know why it wasn't more covered in blood and what the white stuff was... I never knew he was so innocent! Lol! Kinda sweet, actually!

I think, to be honest, I'm not having much time to focus on the pregnancy. Seems like I'm working, sleeping, feeling sick... Can't wait for 12wks, when I'll have had the scan, will know all's well (hopefully) and will start feeling more human again!

Hermya - I'm sorry, missed your bit about failing the practical test... Sorry to hear that, but good news about Mr. Nice Voice! Lol! (Why's his voice so nice anyway, by the way - where's he from?)

Seablue - how can your friend pinpoint so precisely? See, I had EWCM on the 29th and 31st Dec, but going by scan dates, conceived on the 27th at the very latest. (BD'd on the 25th so think that must've been it.)

claireinthecommunity · 10/02/2010 14:31

Hello everyone , as with lucielooo, I've been waiting for AF to pass and getting on with 'other stuff' in the meantime. But the shagging starts here!

I've not been as prominent on here as usual as I want to try and be a little more relaxed about things this month. I find it easy when I've got AF and am in the DTD stage, but that 2ww, well, I just turn into a crazy baby lady! I'm really going to try this month to be calmer about it all - let's see how I get on...

Great to here from the graduates and also great to have more frolickers joining us

I didn't see the maternity ward program but have seen a lot written about it so feel as if I've got the gist.

chalky3 · 10/02/2010 14:51

Hi everyone! I didn't see the programme last night as I had to go to work but I left DH watching it with interest! I'd completely forgotten it was on but he had stumbled across it by accident. Not sure if I want to know that much about the birth before pregnancy, I'm scared it will put me off altogether!

Got lots of 'middle pain' going on just now. I had this last Wednesday night too when I woke up pressing my tum because it was so uncomfortable. I'm not sure what this means as it's supposed to be an ov symptom but that I think about ten days ago. Yet another inexplicable one for the list!

chalky3 · 10/02/2010 14:54

*I think ov happened about ten days ago. I really should read my posts properly!

seablue · 10/02/2010 15:50

whiteroses - she can be precise because they were going through a rough patch and so they only DTD on Day 8 in that whole month (some people - huh?).

But that was after 8 months of trying as carefully as possible. The irony!

chalky - early AF pain? I cramp a bit from O to full-on AF...?

lucieloo - love SWI!

lucielooo · 10/02/2010 16:09

claireinthecommunity I think hanging around mumsnet helped with the TWW this time - though it's the first cycle I've been here. Thinking about other peoples cycles took my mind off obsessively looking for symptoms that aren't there, while still indulging in thinking about getting up the duff if that makes sense!

However, I think everything changes from one cycle to the next to be honest. Am determined not to waste so much money on HPT's this month. If I do get pregnant, I am sure my body will tell me soon enough.

Having said that we're putting a lot more effort in this month (SWI every day so far, so I'm very impressed with DH's energy - he's said he prefers 'Lucie's gym' to the normal one and I should hope so too!) So if we don't get a BFP this month I sense some disappointment ahead. At least so far I've been able to think that we just didn't try hard enough.

Some comments on another thread got me thinking about my friend who accidentally fell pregnant (a bad thing for her) though she was in her 40's, on the pill and got hammered every weekend on vodka and class A's. Makes me wonder how much difference switching to decaf and popping the pregnacare conception pills really does, but there you go, things work in the strangest ways!

chalky I hope your tummy pains are to do with all good things happening in there, although like seablue I tend to cramp on and off from Ov through to AF. But you know best what is normal for you!

NovemberAli · 10/02/2010 16:26

Chalky Or implantation pains, had period type pains 12 DPO before my BFP....

claireinthecommunity · 10/02/2010 16:30

Lol at 'Lucie's gym'. You're absolutely right, some months being on here in the 2ww has really helped me, it's just last month I was a few days late with endless 'symptoms' and managed to persuade not only myself but others on here that I was PG! The disappointment was tough. I've managed to book in several appointments for things during my 2ww this time - to try and take my mind off of things

Chalky, I find it difficult to distinguish between the 'middle pain' as you describe it, as with both seablue and lucielooo, I get cramping on and off after OV - let's hope it's the 'right' sort of pain for you

claireinthecommunity · 10/02/2010 16:36

Lol at November running off!

lucielooo · 10/02/2010 16:42

lol at claire yeah but assuming that you or DH are at work so it's not like you can get on with the business at hand. And it helps to feel like you're doing something. Even if it is just twittering on about nothing on MN

(the twittering is me obviously, not you)

homebound · 10/02/2010 18:28

Just tested on CD 31 and got a BFN...im sad and I cant help it..i know i know..chin up, but I could have sworn....Oh well...bring on the drinks this weekend!

Hermya321 · 10/02/2010 18:29

Evening all! Sympton watch day 8 continues, had the battery acid taste in my mouth this morning again and have had sicky feeling on and off all day. It was actually quite bad this morninng.

Apart from that, I have been a bit of an emotional train wreck today with the instructors again. So I'm off to go have a good old chin wag with a friend of mine and sort myself out.

Whiteroses It's ok, I knew it wasn't gonna go the way I wanted to. I wasn't quite there on some of my areas, but I'll do it again. Mr Nice Voice is from Wales, he is such a laugh and I missed him when he left as he balanced out the group a lot.

Claire Nice to see you around these parts. I'm glad you're taking the nice and relaxed approach this month, sometimes a change can make all the difference.

Fudge I've ordered some tests off of the internet and will test when they arrive in the post. That will save me the inevitable terror filled trip to boots.

Fulham Lilly is a lovely name, thanks for sharing.

Lucieloo I know exactly what you mean, expect stats wise we have more chance of falling pregnant than actually winning the lottery.

Chalky I hope those are good cramps, I've had a few of those this month as well. Fingers crossed.

Lucie LOL at your gym!!

November You can run, but it isn't anything we're not thinking.

Seablue Don't let me shame you into taking driving lessons. Its hard learning how to drive and don't let anyone tell you differently. This course has done me in and I need a car free holiday.

Kaloki · 10/02/2010 18:38

homebound Sorry to hear that

chalky3 · 10/02/2010 19:42

Prob right seablue, lucieloo and claire about early AF pains. NovemberAli, you're a bad influence!

Fingers crossed for you too Hermya. Sorry about your test

Sorry about BFN homebound, at least you can relax about drinking at the weekend!

Lucieloo liking the idea of your gym! At least you'll know you've done all you can this month whatever the outcome may be.

Maybe the secret is to relax about the whole TTC thing. lucieloo's friend managed to despite not trying and the odds being against her. I've a friend who is pregnant just now after several years trying. They had given up hope and she didn't realise for nearly two months!

Hermya321 · 10/02/2010 19:51

Homebound Oh I am sorry about your BFN, I hope at least you have a relaxing evening though.

zippys · 10/02/2010 19:57

Hi crazy ladies. Sorry I have been away a while. I have good and bad news. Good news MRI scan was clear still don't know what's wrong but brain tumour ruled out.

Bad news, had some really bad family news that has kind of taken over the good news.

I am posting from my phone but just wanted to let you know my scan results. I will catch up properly tomorrow.

fudgecat · 10/02/2010 20:35

hi zippys its good to hear that your scan was clear, also that you have has some bad family news.

take care of yourself

homebound · 10/02/2010 21:08

Im surprisingly more upset this time than I have been previously with BFNs. Would rather go without a drink this weekend if it meant i would have a wee bambino in my tummy...but since i dont...bottoms up and back on track on monday for healthiness.

On the flipside to my downer - some encouragement for those trying to abstain from things that are unhealthy and are watching those who get pg without trying and doing all the 'wrong' things - remember that IF something were to go wrong and we were to MC or we have a child with difficulties or is unhealthy...we can KNOW in our hearts and have PROOF in our minds that we know we did the best we could for the baby that was WANTED...not accidentally conceived by a random bloke on a drunken night out...even if we have drinks and stuff or some of the bad stuff.... we all know that when our 2ww is over on that very day that the BFP shows up...we will stop any bad stuff and look after our much wanted babes on the way! DONT WE GIRLS!!!!...HERRAHHH HERRAHHH!!

LOL..i feel like a cheerleader. I must have PMT..i went from depressed to standing on my soap box in one post Someone get the mental van and take me away!!

kurlyvoice · 10/02/2010 21:12

zippys, what a tough time you're having at the moment... Pleased to hear that the MRI ruled some major things out, but so sorry that you've had bad family news. We're here to look after you, so if there's anything we can do just let us know.

homebound - sorry about the BFN but as lucky cycles seem to be odd numbers then bring on number 5!

chalky I do like the relaxing idea - maybe we should turn the thread into a bookclub or share cookery tips to trick our bodies into thinking that we're not obsessing over every twinge and flutter...

lucieloo I properly LOL at your SWI and am determined to call it that from now on. My DH calls it practising (as I don't want to do anything real before having at least one AF).

hermya keep us up to date with the sympton watch as it does sound promising. As for the driving test, here's wishing you lots of second time lucky luck - don't they say first the worst and second the best?!

and as for fudgecat, I didn't hear a tearing noise and definitely don't want to think about it! Not least because DH has an absolutely enormous head and knowing my luck it'll pass through the genes...

Off for an early night now - two days until half term!

Kaloki · 10/02/2010 21:57

Too true

So, hopefully, we're moving into a new flat on the 20th. It's the perfect size to raise a family. Wish me luck that this doesn't get fucked up before then (psycho letting agent trying to mess things up - and we aren't even using his agency!!)

lucielooo · 10/02/2010 23:15

Homebound what's your usual cycle length? I thought your symptoms sounded promising too. I think unfortunately we seem to get rouge cycles like that where everything seems right but....

And you're absolutely right. All this good behaviour and abstinence is good practice for a)pregnancy (9 months with no wine is still pretty much unimaginable though!) and b)motherhood!

Hermya Thank god there is! But worth remembering that for a lot of people it's just a matter of time, and if not then there are things that can be done to help but not a lot you can do to help you win the lottery! Sorry driving test didn't go to plan but I'm sure I heard somewhere that all the best drivers don't pass first time ;)

Zippy really am pleased to hear that the MRI was ok, and so sorry that you have even more on your plate now and can't enjoy the good news and have other things to worry about.

kurlyvoice I pinched it from another thread but much prefer it to any of the other names for it!!

Kaloki Best of luck with the house move! Perhaps the new home will bring lots of luck.

As for me, am pleased that the Hammers won their game tonight as I figure a Happy Hammer DH will greatly assist our chances of conception ;) Though I forgot that means staying up till 11.30 to watch the highlights yawn

lucielooo · 10/02/2010 23:17

Homebound If you're wondering what a 'rouge' cycle is, it's a bit like a 'rogue' cycle but spelt wrong

claireinthecommunity · 11/02/2010 00:32

Zippy, that is good news about the scan being clear Sorry to hear of the bad family news.

Homebound, last months AF arrival (two days late ) really got to me more than other months had - no words of wisdom, just letting you know I've been there too, we'll (all) get there soon

Good luck with the move Kaloki.

Hermya, symptoms still sounding good.

Chalky, imagine that, two months gone and she didn't even know! I can't imagine that being the case for any of us
