Hi All,

Thought I'd stop by and say hi and boy am I glad I did!!So many promising symptoms...Hermya and Homebound very exciting. Am keeping everything crossed here that they continue to progress well Do you both have a potential POAS day planned?

I feel your pain Kurly, I'm still here (CD51) with no AF. However, i do think I ovulated at the weekend so am keeping my fingers crossed to something will happen soon!

Have a happy tuesday all xx

Homebound and Hermya your symptoms sound very promising indeed. When will you be testing - I'll be watching out for the results!

No symptoms for me at the moment, but no sign of AF either, so I guess I'm still in with a chance! At 12dpo and no AF this is my longest luteal phase since stopping the pill, so even if there's no BFP at the end of it at least I feel as though my body is trying to do what it's supposed to

Hermya321 · 09/02/2010 07:50

Morning all! I'm getting cautiously excited. I kept waking up again through the night as well. I also had a few strange dreams, I had one where my sister stole all my lip gloss. I told my DH and he said 'It's nice to see where your priorities lie isn't it'. Cheek of it, let me tell you. I remember being really angry with her in my dream. I went to bed super early (9pm) as well last night and was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. I was stood by the kettle this morning making a cup of tea and suddenly it was like my mouth was filled with battery acid. It tailed off, but after that I was like 'hmmmm I could be'. So as for POAS I might leave it a few days till the end of the week to give a chance for anything that could possibly be there to get settled in.

Kurly Is there anything that you could take for your migraines whilst you're off the pill?

Felicity I'll have my fingers crossed for you as well.

Right must dash!! Hope you all have a good day!

Pidgin · 09/02/2010 08:14

thanks for the stats bunnygirl Hermya this all sounds most promising! You are a stronger woman than I, I would be getting out the testing sticks already - but I think it is better to wait if you can, because if it's negative you can convince yourself it's a false negative anyway.

kurly just to agree with YTD, I don't think that level of caffiene is at all problematic - I really don't think that levels of caffiene when TTC matter much at all - even when actually pg, there's no evidence that anything less than 200mg/ day is harmful, and your consumption is probably around that at the moment anyway.

Have a good day everyone!

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 09/02/2010 09:35

Ooh hermya that does sound promising... However, you are right to resist POAS until a bit later. Hang on in there until the weekend - then TEST TEST TEST!!

seablue · 09/02/2010 12:00

Good luck hermya!

Deep recognition of those tactical BDing conversations! We were literally standing around our kitchen calendar this weekend working out when we had to be raring to go. We had one disastrous evening last month where we were both so tired it felt like torture - not good!!! So I'm going to have to abandon my vow not to POAS to pinpoint ovulation and pee away with gay abandon. That way we won't be trying to do three days in a row, which is just too much enforced shagging. Fine if the mood happened to take you three days in a row, but really not fine when it's scheduled in there.

Btw - does anyone know what the basis is for the medical obsession with BDing every other day through the whole month? Is it so that irregular ovulators don't miss the golden moment? Or is there some evidence that BDing regularly increases your chances even though most of it is "wasted" in basic fertility terms? Am interested as given that I bleed for nearly two weeks every month (sorry, tmi), our BDing ends up being rather concentrated only on the crucial time...

Seeing newly pregnant good friend tonight. She had endometriosis and all sorts, so it should give me hope! As long as I can contain my envy...

Have a good Tuesday

WhiteRoses · 09/02/2010 13:38

Hi everyone,

Been a while since I last posted so just trying to have a quick catch up and see what I've missed.

Yorkshire - glad to know the nurse was more careful with her labelling this time round... And is that you halfway through your 2ww for results now? Cause that'll be better this month, won't it? BDing, results to say all's well, then BFP - broken up very nicely!

Bunny - you never know with those timings... The month I got my timings all
"wrong" was the month I got my BFP! And as for the boob-jiggling - I'm currently 8wks pregnant and my boobs are exactly the same size/shape/colour as they always were, with no extra sensitivity/pain/anything. So go figure!

How lovely that your friend is pregnant though. Great to go through it all together! I keep looking at my friends and wondering if any of them might be pregnant. I don't think it's at all likely but I'm waiting till 12wks - how good would it be if they were too? (Soooo unlikely! )

Zippys - sorry to hear about AF. See the scan you're getting though, are you able to get that if you're pregnant? I know some scans are harmful. Maybe you'll find it's all working out like this for the beest? (Clutching at straws, trying to make you feel better... ) God, I don't know how you've been coping with the sickness though... That's me had morning sickness for two weeks now and I can't bear it. ...Still catching up and have just read about your scan being early this week. Well, this is Tuesday, so I take it you've had it or are having it... I really hope to see you on here soon, letting us know it's all been something really daft and that they've already sorted it. Will be thinking of you anyway. x

Claire - sorry to hear you were feeling down. But glad to hear you're feeling better now.

Calyx and Seablue - sorry to hear about AF. Cycles 9 and 11 now though so here's hoping! xx

Mumnerves - sorry to hear about you feeling so low too. But I hope you have a wonderful holiday and, you never know, being able to relax might just make the difference. x

Hairy - good news about the results.

Hermya - congratulations on passing your tests! It's so nice to hear that this thread is such a support for others too. Don't know where I'd have been without it! (Thank you everyone! )

Hi Sunny - what a good attitude.

So, Bunny - when do you plan to test?

Kaloki - how could you get annoyed with any of us?! We're perfect! (Glad to hear it though - lol!)

Chance - pffft! Amateur! Lol! I did five tests - six if you count the doctor's! Agree though, it IS an expensive habit... Think I've managed to kick it now.

Aly - I know where you're coming from with your friend. Before we started TTC, I was a bit jealous of my friend, whose boyfriend had gotten her pregnant accidently. However, now, I wouldn't trade places with her for the world. Whereas DH and I are married, own our own home, and are financially secure, with our baby on the way, she and her now fiance live with her parents. She's always complaining that they never get any time together, sharing a room with the baby and with a paper-thin wall between themselves and her parents at all times. Her and her fiance are also working silly hours, trying to save for a deposit on a place of their own, and she says some days, neither of them sees their baby for more than about an hour in the evening. Also, although they both want to get married, it'll either be years before they can, or they'll have to make a lot of sacrifices in terms of what they want... Anyway, I don't think she'd trade places with me either, but it just goes to show, doesn't it? Things always seem to work out the way they do for a reason.

Muser - I'm so sorry to hear your news. How awful. If it's any consolation though, my mum had two miscarriages before having all of us, with no problems whatsoever. There was never an explanation - just "one of those things". As you say, fingers crossed for third time lucky and meantime, I hope you're okay. x

Bella - welcome.

Kaloki - when are you going to test? Were you still thinking of going to the doctor about your irregular cycles?

Calyx - don't worry too much about the EWCM. I don't think it can be THAT big a deal. I've never had very much at all.

Ugh, Aly - just read about your friend drinking. Trying to think of an upside... I guess that you'll know, when you have your baby, that you've done everything right and have given it the best possible start that you could. Mind you, DH and I went all over the top and super-healthy for several months before even starting to TTC. Now that I'm pregnant, it's all gone out of the window. Snacking on crips and biscuits throughout the day (it's about all I can keep down) and drinking lots of Lucozade every time I throw up (recommendation from midwife to keep me from being hospitalized again). Anyway, dunno what my point is... Think I got side-tracked into going on about what a failure I am! But yeh, you'll know you've done your best - that should be a comfort.

Chalky - sorry to hear about your frustration. Joining the gym sounds like a positive step forwards though. x

Homebound - fingers crossed! It certainly all sounds very promising! When will you test again?

Fudge - lol! One time when we were BDing, DH actually had to ask me if I was awake! I was - just! Ahh, the romance!

Hermya - everything sounds so promising! Can't believe you're waiting till the end of the week to test... I REALLY admire that willpower! I couldn't do it!

Seablue - sorry, I have no idea why they say every second day. But I wouldn't stress about it too much. As long as you're doing it when you can and not worrying if you can help it...

This is loooong... But I've been missing for ages!

Hermya321 · 09/02/2010 18:12

Good evening everyone!! I had my practical test today. Now, I didn't pass it. But, I knew that I wasn't quite there with some stuff anyway, so I'm having a few more days and then coming back in a few weeks to have another go at it. I'm actually quite happy with that, I know someone else who didn't pass and she was really devastated.

On the plus side, I'll be doing my next test with Mr Nice Voice as his health issues have now been resolved. It is all good.

I don't get it, full of the woes of the world the last few days and today I'm full of the joys of spring. Madness.

On sympton watch day seven, I had a batch of creamy CM today and my boobs feel heavier. I had the battery acid taste a few times today as well, plus felt a bit sicky towards the end of the day. Plus a little bit crampy, but not as much as yesterday.

Thanks for all your supportive messages guys!!

Pidgin One of the reasons I'm not testing until the end of the week is that I can't get to boots until then and they have a bigger selection of tests than my local Asda do.

Yorkshire I know what you mean about BDing being hard work at times, there were points where me and Dh were a bit 'lets get it over with to each other'. Good luck for this weekend and fingers crossed for good BDing!!

Seablue Thank you!! I think I've heard somewhere that because sperm can survive for 24hrs plus that BDing every two days will hopefully catch any unsuspecting ovum. LOL at the calender moment though!

Kaloki Oh don't, everytime I go into boots I have a broody wibble in the baby aile there.

Hermya321 · 09/02/2010 18:20

Whiteroses Nice to hear from you!!!

maamalady · 09/02/2010 18:27

Sounding good, Hermya! Fingers crossed

This week should hopefully be lots of BD, CD11 today so the work starts here I suppose!

Bellaby · 09/02/2010 21:49

Evening all

Hermya - keeping everything crossed for you!

I'm slowly reading backwards in this thread so it's all starting to make more sense. I love the BD stories - think my DH is going to be in for a bit of a shock when I explain why I have now started to keep a spreadsheet!

Just watching a programe on Channel 4 about a maternity ward - not sure if it is terrifying me or making me more excited!

I keep having dreams about babies too - strange that suddenly we are TTC babies are everywhere!

After the advice on here I am on CD3 (Day 3 of my withdrawal bleed).

Sleep well x

kurlyvoice · 09/02/2010 21:57

I'm watching the maternity ward programme too, bellaby. I thought that it was going to put me off but it hasn't AT ALL. Mad woman, me. Am chatting to my best friend on MSN who is watching it too and goading me because she knows that we have some form of baby plan (she's the only one who knows - not even my mummy does!)...

Hermya321 · 09/02/2010 22:13

Bellaby Thanks!! I watched that programme with DH, he turned to me and said 'I promise I'll be more interested when our time comes' after seeing that Steve guy. I still want to do it though. I did feel a bit sorry for the 18 year lad though. I love my spreadsheet, it makes me feel like I'm done something, even if it's only keeping the spreadsheet up to date.

Hermya321 · 09/02/2010 22:14

Seablue Earlier I meant that sperm can survive for 24hrs plus, sorry.

kkas · 10/02/2010 09:11

hi guys - just checking in to say hi! not much going on here. would like to start the BD, but since i don't tend to ov until Day 20-23, i also don't want to start too early.

whiteroses good to hear you are doing well. thanks for checking in

bellaby hermya kurly i thought about watching that maternity ward programme too, but didn't in the end. i have this weird superstition not to have too much to do with babies at the moment (stopped going in the supermarket aisles/looking at mothercare online). i even have been struggling to talk to my sister about my niece, who is 17 months. but i think maybe it's more that i just get too broody when i think about it and then it makes it all the more painful when i know that i'm not pg... i know i should just grow up and be happy with what i have but it is so hard when you want it so much!

anyway - hope everyone else is doing well on this blustery wintry day!

Was just going to ask on the graduates thread if anyone had watched that programme last night... See a few of you did. See that guy, Steve? If my DH behaved like that, I'd buzz for the midwife and have him removed from the room! And I'm not joking! He was AWFUL! (For those of you who didn't see it, he giggled while his wife was in pain and then, mid-contraction, blew up a rubber glove and started patting her belly and back with it! Prat! Then he called her "narky" cause she told him not to touch her! ) Anyway, did anyone else find it weird that they had their 18yr old son present? I'm a girl and would never have wanted to see my mum like that! I just thought the whole thing was WEIRD!!!

Anyway, good morning!

WhiteRoses · 10/02/2010 10:13

Aww, Kkas - somehow missed your post there... I know what you mean. But not only is it Lucky February, but you're also on Lucky Cycle 7. Won't be long. x

fulhamgirl · 10/02/2010 11:30

Heya guys!!

!!

kkas-Honestly hun it will be your lucky month soon it really will it can take ages to concieve!! As ive posted before it took my firend over a year and I was talking to another lady last week and it took her a year and a half. I know it must be so frustrating I cant imagine what your going through but honestly it will happen so stay positive.

white-Heya hun how are things? U mist be entering the second part now of the pregnancy must be feeling good?
My mum called me and told me about it lol she said excatly the smae as u that she would of ended hitting him lol she said he was awful.

Hope everyone else is ok? Congartes to all the new grads make sure u look after yourselves.

All is well with me sickness starting to kick back in now can u believe it thought I had got rid of it !! Tiredness as well kicking in. Ive still got until May to go so im going to try and work until April and have a few weeks holiday even though I would love to be at home asleep.

Weve decided to call her Lily. Took me a while to get used to as I wanted Lucy or Ruby but I lost battle to DH haha!! Im sure in the labour room he will let me choose the name but everyone is now getting her personalized baby grows .

15 weeks to go getting so nervous after hearing about that programme as well. As long as DH dont start blowing the rubber gloves up I wont hit him haha!!

xxxxx

fulhamgirl · 10/02/2010 11:35

P.S sorry about the typing errors lol im so tired im putting letters back to front lol

xxxx

fudgecat · 10/02/2010 11:42

Morning all

homebound i have had a similar thing with DP, one of his colleagues has become a dad for the first time and often comes home saying things like ?so-and-so was tired today as the baby didn?t sleep well last night? he doesn?t seem put off by it tho so thats good

kurly i remember doing music in secondary school ?i was quite rubbish at it as i have no sense of rhythm but i did enjoy it when we had the steel drums

bunnygirl how you doing today?

hermya i have my fingers crossed for you ? when are you thinking of testing? Sorry you didn?t pass, you have a very positive attitude and im sure you will pass soon

seablue hope you had a nice night with your friend, did you subtly grill her over symptoms?

whiteroses 8 weeks already has it sunk in properly yet?

kkas if you fancy BDing then go for it

Fulham Lily is a lovely name ? thank you for sharing this with us

We watched the maternity programme last night ? the DH of the lady who was having her 4th was a prat. If DP learnt anything from it, it was ?how not to behave? I do have one question tho.. Just before the baby was born you could hear ripping\tearing noises... please tell me this was background noise and not coming from ?down there??

seablue · 10/02/2010 12:06

Good lord fudgecat I don't even want to think about that!

kkas hang in there! It's hard though isn't it.

hermya - sorry about your test, but lots of people I know took a few tries to pass - it's harder when you're older, apparently (which is the excuse I use for not even attempting - you have shamed me into considering having some more lessons).

Feeling quite grown up as I was genuinely pleased for my friend last night. She had a cautionary tale I thought I would share with you all: she had done one ov test, whichs showed she ovulated when she thought she did, on Day 16 when she also cramped every month. Job done, lots of BDing around Day 16. But she knows when she got pregnant - no question. Day 8. Go figure. Now, I use ov tests every month, so I'm sure I'm ovulating when I think I am (Day 14 or 15) but she was clearly ovulating at random times from month to month, but thought it was steady because of one test and the DAy 16 cramping. Food for thought...

Have a good day all

Kaloki · 10/02/2010 12:06

"Just before the baby was born you could hear ripping\tearing noises... please tell me this was background noise and not coming from ?down there??"

I was going to watch it, but now!!

lucielooo · 10/02/2010 12:13
