Claire, I know what you mean with the 'hole' I've just wanted to curl up and tell everyone to leave me alone too
Been so horrible to DH as he's trying to cheer me up but I just really don't want it I just want to be alone and feel sorry for myself that I'm not pregnant again! I'm starting to feel better today though and slowly pull myself together. anyway, big hugs, we'll hopefully get though it all together!

Calyx and seablue sorry AF hit you

chance lol at you getting upset when a boy dropped his glove, I think it's quite sweet!

Well, for all you ladies complaining about DH forgetting valentines, I don't think mine even knows it's coming up, however if we do have a bonkathon then it'll be all forgiven

I hope all your theories about 1,3,7 isn't true because I don't know if I can hang on another 3 months to get a BFP! I feel so emotionally drained at the moment about TTC and part of me feels like giving up
I guess I need this holiday more than I thought, flying off tomorrow so, can't wait!

Kaloki · 05/02/2010 12:16

mumnerves You'll get through it, we're all here for you

zippys · 05/02/2010 13:39

I was just having a quick catch up but no time to post but cant leave your post Mumsnerves I think a holiday will do you the world of good and as Kaloki said we are here for you. If it helps, I have had months like this, but each one affects you differently, dont get me wrong everyone is dissapointing but some are easier than others. I cant find the stats but Yorkshire posted them about percentages and how quickly people fall pregnant, they made me feel better when I felt like you.

Quick update from me, scan early next week, still feel sick, and GP pushing to admit me as it getting worse but managed to avoid it at the moment. So if I go quiet I have been admitted . - I also dont know how I will feel if it is really bad news, I will try to come on and let you know but if its really bad it may take me a little while to get used to it first

lucielooo · 05/02/2010 13:56

Been following this thread but not had much chance to respond but just wanted to say big hugs to you zippy - will be thinking of you, and hoping everything goes ok with the docs.

claireinthecommunity · 05/02/2010 14:26

Thanks so much to everyone for the words of support, I am feeling much more myself now and ready to face the world

Sorry to read of AF's arrival calyx and seablue.

Mumnerves, hope you have a fantastic holiday, looking forward to hearing all about it

Zippy, thinking of you, take all the time you need - we will still be here (well, some of us will of may of graduated, but ykwim )

Hope everyone has a great weekend, whatever you are doing!

kkas · 05/02/2010 14:51

zippys still thinking about you sweety and i echo claire in saying we are always here for you!

claire glad you're feeling better today.

i'm back from nyc/dc today after the dreaded overnight flight. luckily work is not too pressing today so i was able to take my laptop home and am catching up on mn goss working from home. i was at a conference so it was pretty full on, but i did get some lovely client dinners in (there must be some perks to this job!) and visited victoria's secret in preparation for this month's bonkathon

i had cramps earlier this week too seablue so i feel your pain. hope you're feeling better soon. remember chocolate helps!!!

hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

hairytriangle · 05/02/2010 17:48

What is 'cd' pretty please!?

I had my test results. Everything in the 'normal range' but i have yet to have my 21 day progesterone test.. feel chuffed!

mumnerves · 05/02/2010 18:37

kaloki and zippys Thanks for the lovely words, they made my eyes leak a bit Kaloki, you're right, some months are better than others and I think because this month I've been so ok till now, I just cracked I will try and pull myself together now, just knowing you're all there really helps!

claire will try and pop in for updates from everyone in between and let you all know how it's going

Hermya321 · 05/02/2010 18:53

Evening all! Great news, I passed all three of my theory exams today, only one more theory test and a practical drive to go. So things are looking up. I've bought some wine and some posh cheese and will be scoffing the lot of it tonight.

Seablue Oh ow I hate AF, she's always such a horrid visitor. BTW the mascara did work, I had a much better day today. I'm buting into the prime number theory as well.

Calyx Sorry about AF.

Claire Glad to hear you're coming out of the hole. I know what you mean, I'm normally quite bubbly but when AF hits. I retreat into myself, put on my hazard warning lights and wave people past until I feel slightly human again.

Mumsnerves Sorry you're feeling a bit down, we'll all get there but until then you know you can always come and whinge to us. We're all on the good ship TTC together. Enjoy your holiday my dear.

Kkas Go you, seduce that DP for all he's worth!!! Enjoy!

Zippys Thinking of you as well at the moment!

I know that TTC is a hard graff, and I don't think we really realise how hard it is on you emotionally and physically until you're in the middle of it all surrounded by graphs and books telling you what to and what not to eat. This is why places like this are so important. Otherwise who would you tell, you can't tell family because everytime you see them you get the 'well are you, aren't you' conversations. You can tell friends, but unless they've been there how can they understand what that the monthly roller coaster of emotions is like. I love this little thread, it's become an important part of my day. I put my temp in FF and then log on and see how everyone else is doing. It's lovely and I'm glad its here.

I mean lets face it, where else can you have an indepth conversation about CM and how tender your boobs are without getting funny looks and a hasty change of subject.

Hermya321 · 05/02/2010 18:54

Oh hairytriangle CD is cycle day which means how many days it's been since you started your period.

maamalady · 05/02/2010 19:09

Well done on your exams, Hermya!

My DH is back from business trip, has been ambushed already

Sunnyandwild · 05/02/2010 19:58

Hi all.

I'm new to posting on mumsnet, though i've been on it a couple of times (ovulation info ) Just been reading this thread...
I've thought for a while about going on mumsnet to talk to others about ttc but have resisted because wondered if it would make me think about it even more than I do... but then just thought well, its good to speak to other people in a similar position... might make me feel not so lonely in it somehow ...

I've been ttc in a semi relaxed way (e.g. not focusing on it but just seeing what happens)for about a year and a half, maybe a bit longer. i have regular as clockwork af's haven't done any tests yet, trying to stay relaxed as on some level i believe it will happen when its meant to...A few months ago i was getting quite focused on it and feeling upset every month but now i somehow don't feel so bad.. moved a few months ago and started a new job so that's a great distraction!

But anyway thanks all for posting, it helps just to read everyone's very familiar thoughts!

Sending good vibes out to you all...

Hermya321 · 05/02/2010 20:08

Evilgiraffe Thank you!!! Go you with your ambushing!!

Sunnyandwild Welcome to the thread, it is good to talk about TTC with other people even if it is just to have a bit of a moan when your period comes knocking at your door. I'm glad you're feeling relaxed about the whole issue. Come and get stuck in, we're a friendly bunch.

fudgecat · 05/02/2010 20:18

Yeah its Friday

sorry to hear about the AF calyx and seablue mumsnerves have a fab holiday

sorry to hear your not feeling good zippys hopefully you will get some answers from the scan

hairy CD is cycle day - eg the day AF starts is CD1, the next day CD2 so on and so forth. Well done on the tests.

well done on passing your tests Hermya what a great start to the weekend

welcome sunnyandwild this is a great place to be, we are all in the same boat so can relate to what the others are thinking\feeling\doing

Sunnyandwild · 05/02/2010 20:24

thanks for welcome messages... yes it seems a good place to be

bunnygirl80 · 05/02/2010 21:57

claire Glad you're starting to feel a bit more like yourself again. Strangely, I never feel that emotional when AF arrives, but I do around ov. Poor DH gets screamed at and then ambushed

zippys like everyone else, I'll be thinking of you.

hermya well done on passing your exams. You and I have the same routine - I check my emails, put my temp on ff, then come on here and see what everyone's been up to!

welcome sunnyandwild do you want us to add you to the stats list?

kkas Hope DH enjoyed your purchases

I'm trying not to symptom spot, but failing as usual. So far I've got:

  1. Feeling a bit emotional. I cried at the news yesterday, but it was a really sad story about a man whose wife and children were killed in the bushfires last year. Then I cried at Neighbours
  1. Am convinced my nipples look bigger than normal, but can't actually remember how big I thought they were!!! Am not going to ask DH to check as he will think I've gone mad
  1. Temp this morning is the highest I've ever had.

I'm off to a conference all weekend. Not really looking forward to it, but it's a good opportunity to meet people who do the same job as me. But why oh why do they have to have them at weekends?!

OP posts:
YorkshireTeaDrinker · 05/02/2010 22:38

Evening all,

Welcome sunnyandwild. It sounds like you have a pretty good attitude. TTC can turn out to be a fairly long haul for some, so its good to try and take it as it comes as much as possible. We'll try not to wind you up and get you frantically symptom spot!

Congratulations on passing your exams hermya

Sorry to hear about the AF calyx and seablue.

Clare and mumnerves glad to hear that you're emerging from the AF pit. Rotten isn't it? Hope you feel better after your holiday mumnerves. kkas sounds like you had a good trip - hope the victoria's secret goodies do the trick later in the month!

zippys thinking of you. We'll be here whenever you need us. xx

Just a reminder of those TTC stats again (taken from the NHS Choices website)

About 85% of couples will conceive naturally within one year if they have regular unprotected sex. For every 100 couples trying to conceive naturally:

  • 20 will conceive within one month,
  • 70 will conceive within six months,
  • 85 will conceive within one year,
  • 90 will conceive within 18 months, and
  • 95 will conceive within two years.

A couple will only be diagnosed as being infertile if they have not managed to have a baby after two years of trying.

I am currently deriving some comfort from the fact that we have another 8 months to go before we'd be considered officially infertile, plenty of time yet...

Kaloki · 05/02/2010 22:48

sunnyandwild We4lcome, this is my favourite thread on MN, very friendly and supportive! (And coincidentally I've never got annoyed with any of the other lovely ladies on here like some others outside of this thread)

Bunny crying at neighbours eh? Now I'm not trying to symptom spot or anything but that's a promising start...

Hermya321 · 06/02/2010 10:04

Morning all!! How are you this fine frosty morning. I had the house to myself last night and treated myself to a glass or two of red and watched whatever I wanted to on the TV. It was lovely. My nipples are still sore and my boobs feel a bit heavier than normal. Plus a wee bit tender as well, although that could just be me poking the damn things. I read on the tinternet that you can become emotional around the time of OV which could explain the last few days. I had a very disturbed nights sleep last night as well, I had some very vivid dreams mainly about going to work and driving (I need to get a life). I also randomly woke up at 1am this morning sweating up a storm and feeling like I was boiling to death. Had a go at DH for turning the heating up and he told me that he had in fact turned the heating down .

Bunny Crying at Neighbours?? I think they have conferences at the weekend to torment people, maybe the the people who organised it felt a bit wronged by the world in general. I often thought as a teenager that the people who put together the exam papers were like that.

Yorkshire There is time yet. Thank you for your congrats! Thanks for the stats as well.

Fugde Thanks for your congrats.

hairytriangle · 06/02/2010 10:12

Thank you My cd today then is 12 and I think I am currently ovulating ( I have a spot and a mucus cascade LOL)

chancewouldbeafinething · 06/02/2010 10:18

Hello CrazyBabyladies! I cant help popping back to say hi and see what you are all doing (might also be because still getting my head around the BFP...daft i know, but my mind still thinks we are ttc sometimes and then i realise)

Hermya great news on passing your tests, good luck for the remaining practical one!

mumsnerves & Claire glad to hear you are coming out of the hole hopefully this will be the last one for a while (if you get a BFP this month)

kkas well done for getting the most important shopping done hope you are over the jetlag

zippys fingers and toes are firmly crossed for your scan, we hope to hear from you soon

bunny crying at neighbours??? I would be testing if i were you (not encouraging you or anything )

yorkshire 8 months is a long time...plenty of BD to be done

I will be going to the docs next thursday to beg for my early scan, will let you know how i get on. Oh and i cant remember who asked but i did 3 tests all together this month. Hope everyone has a great weekend

Hermya321 · 06/02/2010 10:52

Weirdness abounds, just been sat here and have just had a really sharp pain in my tummy. I've had the odd twinge the last few days and had a similar thing yesterday as well.
