Come in, come in. The wine is mulling, the bird is stuffed and cooked. We have a huge table at which to enjoy our festive feast, and the rippling Ricky Whittle is the centrepiece, draped in berries to be removed by whatever method you choose.

A bottle of Gin and an elf-man in a box awaits each and every one of you. Just make your wish and when you undo the bow he will appear.

There's a nativity tableau in the corner, for praying to the baybee Jebus and, most importantly of all, Santa has been asked to deliver the gift of exceptional fertility, so that each and every BESH can enter the new year with a baybeeee in their tum tum.

Oh, and I've let a few cats in to aid with the 2WOOFL menkulness.

Now, let's get together and get the tree up!

ignore me - just had another bit - tastes perfectly as expected.

LittleB · 11/01/2010 12:53

Hello, Can I join? I'm 33 and taking my last pack of pills so will start TTC next month when I turn 34. I already have dd aged 4.8, so will be a largish gap but I'm hoping that will make things easier. I've just had a swine flu jab too, as GP reckoned it was a good idea to get it done before I conceive.
I'm a bit worried that this time won't be as straightforward as last time as last year I had a chunk of my cervix removed with pre cancerous cells, this shouldn't affect conception but may affect pregnancy, could lead to pre-term baby, but hopefully they will keep a close eye on me, thats why i have to wait until Feb to TTC, to give my cervix enough time to recover. Can't wait though, very excited about having another dc and know that it could take alot longer to conceive now me and DH are a few years older. My consulatant said easily 12-24 mths at my age, but my GP reckoned it should be quicker as I lead a healthy lifestyle and dd only took 2 mths but I was in my 20's then. Will just have to wait and see! Nice to be able to join you all here though - I've been on the waiting to TTC thread, but thought I should start the transfer to your now!

Cosmosis · 11/01/2010 12:54

VAG POAS. I had no symptoms other than no droid either.

skihorse · 11/01/2010 12:59

littleB One of the BESHes (CurlyCasper) has also had treatment for pre-cancerous cells and is now 12 weeks + !

VAG My symptoms all disappeared but still no droid - in fact the day before I POAS I got some mild but very fluttery cramps which I thought was a surefire sign of impending R2D2 stuff.

iggypiggy · 11/01/2010 13:04

VAG no symptoms = good....

What I mainly noticed was a lack of pre-droid symptoms... ratehr than any positive babywin ones...

Hello littleB there is a questionaire you need to fill in

laurie shit news about lump - hope all is ok - take an affectionate shin kick - and hope that sods law means x-ray = babywin

Cosmosis · 11/01/2010 13:21

Laurie, keep meaning to reply about lump - I had one a few years ago, was nuffink. cists and stuff is all v common, much more likely to be nuffink than anyfink. Easy to say but try not to worry. How about if we all poke it a bit??

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 11/01/2010 14:03

Newbies - welcome and behold.....THE BESHTEST

  1. Do you like gin? (This is compulsory, you must say 'Yes')

  2. Men - are you a gold digger or a cradle snatching cougar?

  3. Baybee-making - to put a baybee in your tumtum, which hole do you use:
    a) weewee
    b) poopoo
    c) foofoo
    d) none, you just pray to the baby Jebus.

  4. Testing - when someone wonders if they should test for updiff (pg), do you:
    a) bellow 'POAS!' at them non-stop and punch them repeatedly in the kidneys till they wet themselves anyway.
    b) Sprinkle them with babydust and send them hugs and kisses on lickle baby angel wings.

  5. Is R2D2:
    a) an adorable robot from Star Wars.
    b) the source of all evil.

  6. what colour are your walls?

  7. Number of pets?

  8. Inappropriate (read: weird) crush of shame?

  9. Lesbian crush?

  10. What are your views on camping?

  11. How much money have you spent on sticks you then urinate on?
    i) Oh nothing, I'll probably catch first time and then get the doctor to confirm it.
    ii) Over 100 quid
iii) I opened an account on ebay solely for the purpose of purchasing sticks

We like having newbies do the test but tbh we don't much care about the answers (except the gin one) - we're just nosy and opinionated.

Thanks all for bearing with my madness. I will be POASing on Wednesday if the druid doesn't waft by before then. My money's on him beating me to it.

Ocarina · 11/01/2010 14:04

ginhag · 11/01/2010 14:08

I just got a bit upset on the 'how long after 34' thread. People can be fucking insensitive I think.

Am going back to my cave...

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 11/01/2010 14:09

Poor ginster

TwinkleToes76 · 11/01/2010 14:12

Had a follow up scan today at the EPU, they could see an embryo this time but no heartbeat . I decided to opt for an ERPC tomorrow rather than wait any longer for it to happen naturally. So far 2010 sucks!

VAG POAS and make us all happy!

Laurie - hope lump is nothing to worry about.

Hi newbies!

Ocarina · 11/01/2010 14:12

hmm, VAG beat me too it. You could always answer it twice . Talking of VAG, POAS, you know we you want to.

Should learn to post faster.

Am already starting to wonder when droid is going to arrive, mainly cos if I went straight into a 28 day cycle (!) it's due the day before we go skiing. So, am I wanting droid to not arrive then
a) cos updiffed - would obviously be best result but trying not to hold out too many hopes
b) cos droid + skiing = too much hassle
or wanting droid to arrive then
a) cos would mean body had managed a sensible cycle
b) cos danger of droid arriving whilst dressed in way too many layers of ski clothes would be a pain so at least I'd know what I was dealing with

Methinks I'm just too easily distracted by thinking about such things.

Ocarina · 11/01/2010 14:13

Twinkle that's rubbish Look after yourself.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 11/01/2010 14:16

Twinkle - that is crap. Stay strong (I tried to say this in a more BESHie way but couldn't so here's a cookie)

PollyPoo · 11/01/2010 14:43

twinkle that is rubbish. Un-BESHy hugs to you.

VAG POAS POAS POAS. Go on, go on, go on, go on, go... etc.

Ocarina is your ski-wear white? If so, droid will appear as soon as you put on said gear.

Right I'm off to kick some cunts on that other thread

Oh yeah... got me an HSG next Thurs. So looking forward to that.

Bessie123 · 11/01/2010 14:54

Right, that's it. I am sick of our rubbish wombs. Grrrr.

idealcamel · 11/01/2010 15:01

Poll - MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS SOMEONE TO PICK YOU UP FROM YOUR HSG - see how important this is, that I shout in CAPSLOCK.

Seriously. Am hardcore, me. Have been through lots of medical testing on my own. But when lovely husband turned up to meet me from the HSG, I burst into tears. Not because it was that unpleasant - it was nasty, but by no means awful - but because it was so weird and invasive and felt like the start of a long journey and and and. Anyway, feel free to ignore advice. Will be thinking of you, though.

Gin and all the posters on the plus 34 thread - well done. I'm not sure what the point of posting about conceiving in your thirties is - it's a bit like the tell-me-I'm-pregnant posters. Either you will or you won't and it's a lottery and VERY LITTLE you can do will actually affect it and we might just as well all hold hands and get pissed. If there was a magic way of ensuring pregnancy then 100% of IVF attempts would work.

Grr. Have wound self up now. Everyone repeat after me, the plural of anecdote is not data.

Happy Monday to y'alls, especially the newbs. Am not usually this bitter. Actually, I am...

idealcamel · 11/01/2010 15:02

Beshie Has your womb misbehaved?

Bessie123 · 11/01/2010 15:05

Camel no, my womb is keeping quiet at the moment, I'm only on CD20. I just look at all the angst and upset on this thread, it is horrible. It is so easy to take this baybee business for granted until you want one and have trouble and then we are so powerless to do anything much.

Twinkle - I am VERY sorry to hear your sad news.

idealcamel · 11/01/2010 15:09

Twinks Yes, am so sorry, too.

I dunno - the thread does make me a bit sad, but then I think about what it would have been like back in the day when one would have had to be quiet about all this horrible shit. At least we can talk to the real peoples who live inside the internets.

iggypiggy · 11/01/2010 15:28

gin just gone back to the thread and saw what you posted - I started typing the exact same thing - that comment about taking care of yourself fucked me off too.

twinks v. v. sorry to hear you news. I know how horrible it is to go back for a scan and see no heartbeat (I saw one at my first scan last year and not at the second). Please to look after yourself.

laurielou · 11/01/2010 15:32

Poor twinkle I'm so sorry

Who's having the HSG? Its OK, although agree someone should collect you. I also burst into tears on the boyf, mainly out of sheer relief that it was over. He'd thought I'd be emotional so had bought me a gingerbread man .

gin I thought you handled "the other thread" very well. And you didn't swear! Good on you. Would you like to poke my boob too?

I think today calls for a cosmopolitan & some Cadbury's Fruit "n" Nut. Anyone?

ginhag · 11/01/2010 17:42

twink so sorry. Feel for you. I've had erpcs so if you wanna ask anything then CAT me. I know that doesn't make it better,I know nothing can. Have a bearhug x

lorry camel igg... thanks. I am actually really upset by that sort of attitude,it makes me angry! Am surprised to find I didn't swear as am a fishwife. So FUCK! I say. It was precisely The Last Thing I fucking bastard well needed to read right now. I'm low enough cheers!

Also lorry thank fuck someone finally got a round in!

ginhag · 11/01/2010 17:45

Oh and lovelyVAG (now that sounds weird...) thanks for backing me up,and for the bundle. I've gone all teary again today,is shite.

Also for what it's worth I say don't poas til you ready. We all want cheering up but it is your wee and you can piss when you want to.

CUNextTuesday · 11/01/2010 18:01

Reclaim the Wee!!!
