Come on in ladies, the bar is fully stocked with Advocaat, Bailey's and novelty Xmas drinkies and the slaves are wearing Ann Summer 'Santa's Hat' posing pouches. Have also festooned the place with plenty of festive tat and lots of v un-eco and tacky Xmas lights and shit because I know we all love getting Xmassy dead early. There's a fireplace so you can send your wish list to Santa up the chimbley, platters of wooden spoons and coconuts on the mantlepiece and 'Mulled Wine' scented candles lighting up The Pit of Despair. Make yourselves at home!

Curly re. HCG...tell me about it re. HCG levels...I had a bonkers thread on here months ago trying desparately to figure out whether my HCG level was left over after m/c, or indicated a new pregnancy...that was the longest couple of days ever, waiting to see if levels doubled over 48 hours!

If I look on the optimistic side, I have never got a positive before driod due, and with the sensitive internet cheap HPTs, only ever got a faint line anyway.

having said all that, I am feeling a bit droidy now, so who knows...29.4 hours before I can test!

Scorps Bugger off with your 'little miss organised' early christmas shopping . Last year, the boyf and I decided we were going to charge up the laptop, take it to a nice bar with wifi, get in a nice bottle of wine, then plan and buy all christmas prezzies etc on that day...it didn't work out in the end, but I think that is what we will do next weekend

ChoChoSan · 24/11/2009 13:13

What does YBUFWY mean anyway, Ski

kimdeal · 24/11/2009 13:21

Nice palace grls.
Limoncello on ice all round.
And hark, is that not 'Last Christmas' on the stereo? V good idea slaves in santa posing pouches, Scorps.
Just to say Happy Christmas and a merry new POAS to one and all.
PS ChoCho I think I had implantation bleeds (aka prune juice) on week 5 or 6 or summat crazy, so anything is possible....

givecarrotsachance · 24/11/2009 13:22

Cho, Cassie sorry for the erroneous information re lines . I thought you'd got a better one, cassie, coz you're usually telling people to WAIT not PEE. But I DO maintain it was an implantation bleed, so there [sticks tongue out emoticon].

Straw poll - do we say "tung" or "tong"?

skihorse · 24/11/2009 13:24

ChoCho My apologies, I actually got it wrong the 2nd time I wrote it, it should've been YBIFWY (Your Body Is Fucking With You).

ChoChoSan · 24/11/2009 13:39

Ski my body is fucking with me, but i think it is merely following the example of my mind this month.

Okay, I have decided I am deffo not pg this time (my tits went up 2 sizes by the time I tested positive in the past - not this time tho')

So...what to do now> I am supposed to have one more IUI before Xmas, then IVF in new year if IUI fails.

I am wondering if I should just give myself a month off and go straight to IVF in January.

Pros: 1) I think it's more likely to work. 2) I can't stand the emotional drain of babyfail anymore.

Cons: 1) All the drugs 2) Time off work 3)If I get pg and m/c again, I will have used up one of my IVF 'gos' before they even start investigating m/c 4) after this month I will have had 3 x iui, one of which worked - not bad success rate, eh?

Can we vote on this please?

iggypiggy · 24/11/2009 13:48

Cho i dunno - is v. tricky choice... I tend to fink go what is better for your menkul health... which sounds like it might be IVF in Jan. BUT... would you then be thinking 'if only I had tried IUI on more time'?

sorry no help...

ChoChoSan · 24/11/2009 14:02

Hi Iggy, well, I would be thinking that, especially as I know it has worked. I just don't know if I can stand the babyfail anymore tbh. I am sure I will feel a bit better in a couple of days, but I am entering new levels of insanity and misery these days. I suppose that I have become mroe hopeful about getting pregnant this year, since it happened twice, but perhaps that's what make the failure hit me even harder now.

What ever happens I will do IVF in January - but do I give myself a rest from iui and just have a pissed up/hair down Xmas? Or will I regret it in the cold light of day?

TwinkleToes76 · 24/11/2009 14:17

Cho - I don't know very much about assisted conception but if it is on the NHS will they let you go straight to your first IVF attempt without exhausting all of the 3 IUI being offered to you? Your success rate on IUI is encouraging though isn't it? What if you got pregnant and didn't MC next go! Totally understand your 2 pros though. Not sure what I'd do, but as Iggy said, you wouldn't want to feel any regret for not having that last go at IUI. Difficult decision.

Muser · 24/11/2009 14:18

Can you give yourself December off, do IUI in Jan and then IVF in Feb if it doesn't work? If it's possible that's probably what I'd go for, as in the grand scheme of things another month isn't so long.

iggypiggy · 24/11/2009 14:20

I fink you need to wait until you either get droid or babywin this month - hormones just before are not good for basing decisons on... Really only you know what is best for you.

kimdeal · 24/11/2009 14:42

Cho - hope you don't mind me blustering in again - this new room is santagr8 - but more to the point wanted to say I think iggy is right bout the 'mones. Plus about only you knowing what's best for you - - note how many more cons you have listed... Seems IUI wins.
Muser has a v good idea. Is this possible? Allows you to hopefully relax over the holidays.
Talking of, in the meantime, here, I've stolen all the chocs from the advent calendar for you.
Headbutts.

ChoChoSan · 24/11/2009 15:28

Thanks all , yes, i will probably feel different in a couple of days. I think I could probably bump my iui to January - NHS are keen to save money, but also they are thinking I need to get stuck into IVF now I am 38. I think they will let me do whatever I choose though, so I will poas tomorrow, then call them. I will book in my first scan for CD9 anyway, and then cancel it if I decide to have a month off.

If I do go ahead with IUI in december, I will probably poas on 23rd, so at least I'd either be pg, or able to drink, by Xmas eve!

ChoChoSan · 24/11/2009 15:38

I am going to shut up about all this now (at last...sheeesh, pass the G and T's round to celebrate), but I will post tomorrow to let you know what the poas said.

If I get this menkul again next time, please will you all ostracise me/slap me?

Muser · 24/11/2009 16:09

Now someone slap me as I have just been poking my boobs in the loo to try and work out if they're still big/sore/there.

Muser · 24/11/2009 16:13

Awww, icklebabysisterinlaw has had scan. Baby has a heartbeat and is 2.5cm long. 2.5cm! I am now having a little sob at the idea of the tiny little baby with a tiny little heartbeat.

Sap.

CurlyCasper · 24/11/2009 16:42

Just saw that bouncingblueberries, who was with the BESHies for a time, is on the August antenatal thread. Did I miss this on here (or earlier thread - she was a BESH Monster) or did she run away quietly??? (congrats to blueb if you are still lurking)

givecarrotsachance · 24/11/2009 16:43

muser is that the 12 week scan?

chocho May I say POAS on thursday or friday? Just as I said, took 2 days for my line to show after bleed and I'm still holding out for it to be an implantation bleed...

Muser · 24/11/2009 16:50

8/9 weeks carrots. I think she gets an early scan due to scary medical problems.

Medee · 24/11/2009 16:55

evening ladies. The twitching has settled down, and there are no other symptoms. I think I can last till Monday

ChoChoSan · 24/11/2009 17:33

Hi Carrots,

I have to poas tomorrow as my fertility clinic will be waiting to hear from me.

Evening Medusa, is that wombular twitching that you refer to, or manic facial ticcing, like Herbert Lom in those Pink Panther films?

Medee · 24/11/2009 18:21

just wombular - I'm not ruling out other twitching though.

Scorpette · 24/11/2009 18:23

'Aha!' thinks Scorpette's Body, 'I see she's mentioning on MN that she never has to start worrying about the Pink Panther until DPO9. Well, it's DPO8 today - I'm going to teach that lazy bitch a lesson about waiting to fill me with babies until it's too late and fill her pants preliminary babyfail'. [stockpiles paracetamol]

Cunningly covered tearfulness on bus by pretending to have appalling cold. All that Am Dram in my teens was not wasted

Cho - I look in the shops for stuff to buy folk... then go buy it online much cheaper. I'm skint so have to be organised. Old, fat, skint, babyless. Bah Humbug!

OP posts:
PandoraBraithwaite · 24/11/2009 19:55

Scorps - . Sorry to hear about the Pink Panther.

ChoCho - LOVE the wifi Xmas non-arguing bar shopping! Gonna try that out! Will be waiting to hear news of POAS tomorrow.....

Muser · 24/11/2009 21:40

Fucksticks Scorps, really sorry to hear that.
