Hi All,

New thread, a new beginning...

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 01/02/2010 11:38

I like comedy names for chickens:

eg: Leia (Princess Leia - ie. layer) or Shelly (like egg shell innit)

Joolsiam · 01/02/2010 12:02

aaahhh Iggy - that freaked me out somewhat - you mentioned the login name I use on another forum - thought I'd been tracked down by someone who knows me in RL for a minute !!

yellowflowers · 01/02/2010 13:32

Yes, so good being able to talk about this without being known in RL. I constantly have to remember not to sign off my message with my actual name or, whenever my name is mentioned on the baby name thread, to chip in saying how nice it is!!

iggypiggy · 01/02/2010 13:53

jools sorry - unintentional! Although we know each others RL names anyway

yellowflowers · 02/02/2010 09:50

Maybe it was an implantation dip as temp back to quite high again. But have also just started spotting so guess period on way

Joolsiam · 02/02/2010 09:56

Yellow - its not over till its over A lot of people get confused and see spotting when AF is expected - then assume the worst and AF never gets going That is what happened to me in Sept 08.

yellowflowers · 02/02/2010 10:34

Hi Jools - thank you, and here's hoping. What happene dtoday is I woke up at 6.30pm, tossed and turned for a bit and then took temp. It was 36.63 (High was 36.92 and yesterday it was in the 36.40s. Then I went to loo, had a drink and went back to bed for an hour putting on an extra blanket because it was cold. At 7.30 I did it again and it was 36.83 which is pretty high for me and would have made me very optimistic except for fact I had gone to loo and also had extra blanket which probably changed things. Also our loo is up a flight or stairs from bedroom so it's bound to have impact on temp right?

yellowflowers · 03/02/2010 09:21

14 dpo today and another temp dip. Expecting af around teatime. Grrrr. Still waiting to hear about nhs iui. Just want to know so I can book private iui if not. Ideally we'd then be able to give it a go for April cycle.

daisydotandgertie · 03/02/2010 18:48

How's it going Yellow?

And Jools - how are you doing?

Am loving the chicken name suggestions - but am too cowardly to visit the baby naming board. I can't ask about chickens there!

Not much going on here - I'm not temping, nor counting. We're going for the lots of shagging approach and waiting to see what happens. I'm quite sure it won't work and I can't face the upset of working myself up by examining every symptom and hint.

Iggy - are you still just looking fat? Surely not?

yellowflowers · 03/02/2010 19:20

You should name change and pretend you are having quints teehee!

How about meg as in m(egg)

and Henrietta shortened to hen

and beadie

and um, can't think if any more. Queenie? And Mercy (as in please don't eat me!)

Was a bit excited this pm because for about an hour my boobs were burning. Not the nipples but the top half of my boobs. But that's stopped now and I can feel my period in it's initial stages. Avoiding the loo as I don't want to see it!

Joolsiam · 03/02/2010 21:00

Yello - fingers still crossed for you. Burning boobs are good, and I've seen loads of symptom spotting sites where people are convinced AF is going to arrive and it just never does ...

10DPO here - my horrid cold has come back with a vengeance, my boobs are sore and bursting out of my bra, I feel really hot, I had backache for a couple of days with mild cramps and keep telling myself that I am imagining other feelings of nausea and dizziness, but I got so dizzy when out last night, I had to grab on to the back of a chair

Am trying not to get too excited and just wait for AF, but I just can't help myself

yellowflowers · 03/02/2010 22:27

Thanks jools. Boobs normal now though and am sure af will be here by lunchtime tomorrow at latest (and of course I've dipped into my stocks of cheapie tests and all negative). But also tell tale sign is no cm at all and I am always dry (tmi!) just before af and it's more cm not less that is pregnancy sign isn't it. So afraid it's very unlikely for me.

Everything crossed for you though jools. Sounds really promising. Is there anything you can do once you get bfp to encourage it to stick?

Much love. Xx

yellowflowers · 04/02/2010 09:11

Well pretty sure af started now. Proper spotting. But I have come to realise that for me it's vaginal dryness that is the real sign it's on it's way (temp still above cover line) so I knew it was coming. I think earliest we can get iui even if private is April cycle as dh away a lot in march.

yellowflowers · 05/02/2010 11:27

Hello how are you all? Any more symptoms Jools? Have you named the chickens Daisy?

I am writing this on a train up to see my nan in Scotland battling af pains and trying not to moan out loud! Think of me... Wondering whether a second kitkat will help?

Joolsiam · 05/02/2010 11:43

Hi Yellow

I think another kitkat, or a family sized bar of galaxy would definitely help

I have an absolutely awful cold now but daren't take anything for it just in case

Symptoms could be related to being ill or could be PG symptoms - dizziness, nausea, tiredness etc. I've also been having quite vivid dreams and raging insomnia - often a symptom.

A few days ago, I had bad backache for a couple of days, and I've had mild cramping and odd sensations in my abdomen on and off. Oh well - I will know either way soon enough, but wish I knew now so I could have a lemsip !!

yellowflowers · 05/02/2010 12:00

I thought paracetemol (lemsip) ok in pregnancy? Or is it ibuprofen you can have. Hope the symptoms are pregnancy though.

I feel strangely ok about af this time. Wonder why. No crying fits yet. It's also bang on 28 days. Post hsg my cycles have been textbook.

Joolsiam · 05/02/2010 12:37

Hi Yellow Yes, paracetamol is OK and I will take some if I need to. Lemsip contains caffeine and other stuff to dry up snotty noses etc, so you can't have it. I know I'm being paraniod, but after 3mc's, I'd rather suffer for a bit than take any risks

yellowflowers · 05/02/2010 16:24

Don't blame you Jools - everything croseed. Tell us how you get on.

Am now at my nan's, internet working (wahey), heating on, preparing for hot bath, hot dinner then hot toddy. Aren't nans great.

Joolsiam · 08/02/2010 09:30

Hi CD1 here after a horrifically emotional weekend - sudden death of one of DP's close friends.

Ironically, I'm STILL feeling nauseous and nearly threw up at the smell of petrol from a motorbike on the way to work this morning. Hormones in overdrive and just want to crawl into a corner and hibernate

yellowflowers · 08/02/2010 10:14

oh jools I am so sorry - that is so sad. Big hugs to you and your poor dp.

Sorry it is cd1 too. xxxx

yellowflowers · 09/02/2010 15:27

how you feeling jools?
x

iggypiggy · 12/02/2010 14:13

yellow and daisy how are you both?

jools hope you ok too xx

yellowflowers · 12/02/2010 17:52

hey iggy - how are you and the bump?

I am okay - about to enter the bd every other day stage. Still not heard back about iui - is getting very annoying.

How you jools and your dp too. Must still be in shock.
x

daisydotandgertie · 13/02/2010 17:08

hello ladies.

So sorry to read about your DP's friend jools - I can't imagine how awful it must be for you.

iggy - come on, tell us how you are. And how your bump is.

yellow - the IUI appointment will arrive. Try not to stress about it. And in the meantime go at it like rabbits - tiring but fun. That's our motto.

I'm on CD 21, and have been paying as little attention to my ins and outs as I can manage. I took Clomid on days 2 - 6, and again have felt a bit shit with it, lots of aches and pains; my eyeballs have been so painful, and have done plenty of shagging from day 6 onwards.

My average cycle length is 28 days, so in a week or so I will have a clue whether or not this cycle has been successful.

I am studiously ignoring any 'symptoms' because they seem to mean feck all. I am trying to wait until the beginning of March to test. Ha bloody ha.

yellowflowers · 15/02/2010 09:51

Hi daisy yes that's the plan but also booking private iui appt today because letter came and basically said wait for another letter to tell you if you qualify - so it's as if I am on a waiting list to get a letter not even the waiting list to get treatment. I just fear by the time we get answers guidelines may have changes again and all the time I am getting older and it's just never going to happen so we're just going to bite the bullet and go private.
