Mid 30s TTC - Simply The BESH... BESHer than all the rest!

Come on in, ladies. I've had a widescreen telly installed and there's a big cupboard full of 80s teen movies if anyone's interested. New and more secure cages for our prey are being delivered soon. There's a big picture of a desert over the bar, a loudly ticking clock in the corner and bowls of raisins, currants and sultanas on every table; everything the discerning BESH could ask for...

Kim Deal (I don't know who you are IRL either, by the way), I think that is a Gin Palace faux pas! IIRC (and I might not, as I wasn't there) the palace started as a reaction to all that soul-destroying bus/listing business. And we're not flippin starting now!

kimdeal · 25/09/2009 12:46

Have a look at the original thread - it's excellent (aside from the cycle crap, you are right)...

Kinda don't actually find the whole thing soul-destroying since have an interesting life and not sure about babies. Think the thread also started out a bit more "not sureish" and "never wanted them".

Oh well, better go and do some more faux pas ha ha ha ya cunt.

CUNextTuesday · 25/09/2009 12:46

I wouldn't even know where to begin! We all love the IDEA of conception here but I think, for the most part, are mystified as to how the whole thing actually WORKS. And as for the actual HAVING A BABY....

kimdeal · 25/09/2009 12:51

Oh and when I say "interesting life", I actually mean I am sitting in my dressing gown eating peanut biscuits and erm supposedly working from home, the cunt.

CUNextTuesday - god yeah. Why? I'd get the man pregnant if I could. And then of course, 8 years of taking them to naziscouts or whatever they do these days. Then teenagers. Think we may as well just enjoy ourselves and que sera sera.

CUNextTuesday · 25/09/2009 13:00

My sentiments exactly kimslattern I can think of a million things I can do with myself if I don't get pregnant/can't stay pregnant. I'd like to learn to do fencing (sport, not DIY)

kimdeal · 25/09/2009 13:10

Yes CUNextTuesday and so many places to go. So many hours to sleep. So few rips in the gusset. No worries about schools, child care costs, varicose veins, whether you are yummy enough, or have a bugaboo, whatever that is.

Ohh, and fencing.

Think I better chuck meself out of here afterall

RunLyraRun · 25/09/2009 13:14

Don't go KD - I bet I'm less up for the idea than you if possible.

I like my life exactly how it is, don't want it to change at all, don't want to be pregnant, give birth, or look after a teeny baby - and I'm staying in the Palace anyway

RunLyraRun · 25/09/2009 13:33

When I said "soul destroying", I meant for the people who are bothered. Personally I don't like the list thing because it encourages detailed comparison with others, which I find a negative thing to do in all parts of my life as I generally end up feeling inadequate/a freak etc...but maybe that's because I'm an inadequate freak!

I'm just about to take up gymnastics again and I doubt that's a good mix with pregnancy!

VeryAngryGusset · 25/09/2009 14:25

Ooh it's been aaaages since we've had a good list!

I shall commence one....

Fookin' asterisks

Happily completing list and boss came over and showed me something on pc - she must have seen tab open at bottom of page. Argh. Think must have outed self.

VeryAngryGusset · 25/09/2009 14:27

ps - clearly got bored with list after thinking up titles - fill yerselves in.

VeryAngryGusset · 25/09/2009 14:28

or not - whatdoicare....

idealcamel · 25/09/2009 14:35

crazyvaglady Come back. Sit down. Have a drink. Breathe. There, is that better?

I have found a complete cure for my baby hunger and it is the Indonesian 19lb monster child. Seriously, giving birth to that? Nuh-uh.

I have a big decision for y'all. Should I go and see District 9 this weekend? Or Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs? Or should I just sit on my (increasing) arse while telling myself that I should go to the gym?

idealcamel · 25/09/2009 14:36

NB I have kidnapped the lovely Jon Stewart and added him to the comedian's cage behind the bar. He's currently "making friends" with David Mitchell.

laurielou · 25/09/2009 14:52

Can I be on 2 lists? Depending what day it is I'm sometimes in the whatamIdoingonmumsnet camp.

VAG - who you trying to kid? Thought you came across all broody a little while ago? Or have you now come to your senses?

VeryAngryGusset · 25/09/2009 15:25

Dammit, someone's been reading my posts....

Yes, I did have a gawd-I-actually-want-to-do-this moment a few weeks ago. At last, some may think. And I descended into the pit of will-it-ever-happen-madness. And I didn't like it. I'm sort of half climbing out at the moment. Life is nice. I don't want to mess it up. And I love lie-ins and quietness and suiting myself, and doing things on a whim.

I'm thinking of hanging up my SWI Badge for a few months. Argh. I don't know. I think I need to use the jacuzzi of angst if someone can furnish me a playmate?

CUNextTuesday · 25/09/2009 15:37

Hey vag we can then be in a list all by ourselves!!

"Might want one but can't seem to get the bed off my back on a Saturday and Sunday morning"

CUNextTuesday · 25/09/2009 15:38

I am off SWI till December so we can both be in a special sub-section of that group too

Very specialised. Special. Special needs.

idealcamel · 25/09/2009 15:47

cuntyvag Tautologous, I know, but seeing as you are now of one mind...

Shurely not being able to get out of bed at the weekend bodes well for SWI? (Oh, and have now realised that I read that acronym and think swiving. FFS, bastard English degree, pointless waste of time)

Scorpette · 25/09/2009 17:00

Camel, I take umbrage at the inference that there's a possibility that an English degree might not be a waste of time. I didn't spend a mighty chunk of my youth at University only to come out with qualifications that might help me get an actual job. Humanities student through and through, me.

How did you know I was in the 'GIMMEABABY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW' category? I'm fairly sure I've made my position on the matter utterly ambiguous .

BTW, re ripping out of stomach, did anyone see the AIBU thread about wondering if the poster should tackle her supposed 'friend' who copies her, stalks her and keeps saying she's going to kill her and cut her open to get her baby? [massive freak alert emoticon]

OP posts:
idealcamel · 25/09/2009 17:04

No - am hot-footing it over there now to have a look...

idealcamel · 25/09/2009 17:11

Ok - terrifying thread...but do you believe it? I'm not entirely convinced that it's not a wind-up, especially with the flounce-off-even-though-this-is-in-AIBU moment towards the end.

HawaiianCuntShine · 25/09/2009 17:16

Sounds like just another Lifetime Movie of the Week to me - that shit happens here all the time [bored emoticon]

Bloody Mary - again, and yes - droid is due late Sunday or early Monday - the piece of tin never let's me know exactly when to expect him

OK - I know this line was all the way from yesterday but what is kip? I know about rubbers and fags. (ok that bit made even me smile - it did)

after my 52 babyfails - I'm thinking a lot more about my migraines, perhaps all the crying and bitching and moaning would just be too much for my headaches to handle...

HawaiianCuntShine · 25/09/2009 17:17

AIBU?

HawaiianCuntShine · 25/09/2009 17:18

about my headaches (I know that the acronym means)
