Shiny new thread for us

The race is on for the first BFP!

OP posts:
VJay · 05/09/2009 17:55

Hello lovelies, I've not caught up with anything yet, just thought I'd pop in and say that we are all fine in the VJay household, if a little tired . Got to go DS2 is crying for a feed, and I've only just fed him . Will catch up soon and add some pics.

MummyLovesSadie · 05/09/2009 17:59

What is his blimmin name Vjay????!

VJay · 05/09/2009 18:18

LOL I've just had a quick scan through the posts and seen the fab names you are suggesting.
DS2 is called Alexander James, he weighed in at 8lbs 6oz and is the cutest wee thing ever

Birth story: I woke up with a contraction at 12:30 am on Tueday, the next one was 8 mins later then they went straight to 3 mins apart . Got to hospital at 2am and I was 3 cm dialated, an hour later I was 10 cm dialted and Alex was born at 04:14 hours, so from the first contraction to him arriving took 3 hours and 45 mins. It was very painful but fab too

We are breast feeding well and getting a little sleep

I will post some photos soon I promise.

Much love to you all for all your fabulous support

Joolsiam · 05/09/2009 18:37

Oooh lovely name Love the super quick birth story aswell

GracieGirl · 05/09/2009 18:46

Love the name Vjay, and the super quick labour.

Neeko · 05/09/2009 20:20

Hi. Just popping on to say well done Vjay. Lovely name and you sound so happy. So, so, sooo pleased for you

Jools Glad you had no hangover. Hope you're making the most of it and have some more to drink tonight

buckler if you're lurking, come join us.

bluesatinsash · 05/09/2009 20:51

Hey Vjay - well done you for finding the time to post! Welcome Alexander James - a lovely noble strong name . Now that's a birth story to strive for - fantastic ! Great to hear the breast feeding is going well, its so lovely and snuggly and remember 'tummy to mummy' .

MLS - your party sounded fabulous and I can just picture the MSND theme - fairytastic . Only five sleeps 'til your scan, keeping everything crossed...

hoping - feeling for you but it only takes 1 little swimmer... Good advice from the others re: avoiding all bd talk and just get down to shagging .

Jools - at your drunken yet hangover-free girlie night. I so love a good girl's night out on the vino....

mermaid - thanks for link, I get all hot and excited at new stationery, have done since school when I used to lust after strawberry shortcake scented rubbers and associated stuff - going to be a big fat copycat and order the 2010 red one for next year - with stickers!

Hey Neeko - always good to come on to a post from you .

We had a lovely lovely time last night, being back in the Castle, having a night out all dolled up (dress was sooo comfy). DH was very handsome in his kilt and we even managed a few dances and I was wearing three inch heels . Bride and Groom were gorgeous too - her waist size would rival Scarlett O'Hara's . Just really relished having some quality time with DH, he has taken the last year hard too and been so worried about me, it was a joy to see him letting his hair down (so to speak - its v. short ).

Saying that he was at the Scotland game today and will come rolling home drunk and post-chinese and will annoy the bejeezus out of me - how fickle we are!

to all x

Neeko · 05/09/2009 21:05

Hi Blue Glad to hear you had a good night last night. My DH was at the footie too but had to work 1st so drove Same final resuly though as he's lying on the couch snoring Great footie result (for a change!)

I am also a stationery addict. Can't see nice pens or post-its without buying and LOVE stickers and stampers for pupils' work. Our budget was cut massively at work this year and I couldn't cope so have ordered £30 of stationery from the school's supplier myself . Guess I might be bringing what's left of it home in March

bluesatinsash · 05/09/2009 21:21

Hey Neekofellowstationeryaddict you should have a peek at mermaid's link - go on, you know you want to... What do you teach? I don't think i've ever asked . I'm thinking English no?

T'was a great result but we'll no doubt get thrashed 5-0 by Holland on Wed. Hope you're going to wake your DH up to go to bed....or not

Neeko · 05/09/2009 21:29

Woke him up to make me a cup of tea Yes, I teach English. How could you tell? i'm resisting mermaid's link for fear of my credit card

Neeko · 05/09/2009 21:35

Oops - just added the link to my favourites. I'm doomed! think we might need a new thread tomorrow so hope someone with some technical know how comes along.

Sweet dreams all x

bluesatinsash · 05/09/2009 21:44

Quite right .

Just had a feeling re: English . Flowing use of language on here, apostrophe's in the right place (I always get your and you're wrong ). Its a great subject and was my favourite by a mile at school especially when we did 'To Kill a Mockingbird' for Higher - best book evah!

Off to bed now, been surfing web since 8pm and am going square eyed..

DH still not home so I'll hopefully miss his return - hurrah!

littlebellsmum · 05/09/2009 21:55

night blue!
evening neeko - yes, I'll be round for a while. I think. Still not decided about wether we need dc 3 or not.
DC1 is 6 on Thursday and so we are currently planning the party ( fairy and elves!) and hoping that Amazon delivers her present in time!!
Hoping - people are all different aren't they? My DH ( at over 40), would probably be up for BDing most nights given the chance
However given your age, once or twice a week is probably more effective then more frequently for us geriatrics!!

Lovely names Vjay - welcome to the world, Alexander. And a lovely quick birth ( my no 2 was about the same speed, you have been warned all the lovely ladies who are growing DC2's!)

Night all - need to check facebook now!

MummyLovesSadie · 06/09/2009 08:52

Neeko & Blue my dh was also watching the footie - thankfully he it was a bit too far for him to go to though so he had to settle for the telly! Blue fab pics on Facebook btw - your dress looks amazing.

Vjay love the name, classic & royal at the same time! Now can we have the pics please?!

LBM tsk tsk, did we know you were a fellow Facebook user??!

Buckler if you are reading this come on in.

Got to go now as getting ready to go to a riot party full of 2 year olds!

mermaidspurse · 06/09/2009 09:32

AlexanderJames welcome to the world
Lovely solid name. Well done on the birth too a whole rainbow of gold stars for you all.

hope you all have a good dayx

BuddhaBellyBigPants · 06/09/2009 10:17

VJay Love the name so pleased you managed a quick post or two Hope DS2 is settling in well
Blue Gorgeous FB pics
Barbie Sorry to hear you have had more bleeding, take it easy and well done on the graduation to join us big pants
Mermaid Love the link, I hope they have you on commission
Neeko Fab news on your scan and an extra week all such good news
hoping wishing you lots of egg catching luck
4ever Good news on your scan too, especially as they could see a little egg peeking round the corner ready to pop out and become your long awaited LO
annie My bump is definately growing, but still B-shaped! Hope the gaviscon is doing the trick
Gracie Hope all is well with you
Jools Any new symptoms we can obsess think about?
Fifi I understand the need to ttc again straight away, all I will say is that I didn't wait after first 2 m/c's in fact got pg after 2nd one before I got AF but it turned out to be a CP or early m/c. Then waited 6 months for tests etc, I now feel that did me the world of good. But each to their own, we all heal and deal so differently
MLS Huge bundles of luck for Thursday, not that you will need it of course

Apologies for my sporadic [sp?] posts but struggling a bit, MW thinks I have SPD so in agony most days and don't really feel it's appropriate to moan here.
Big weekend waves to everyone not named personally and to the lurkers. Promise to keep on top of the posting next week

Joolsiam · 06/09/2009 11:23

Morning Buddha. Sorry to hear about the SPD Moan away though - that is what we are here for, and, as a first timer, I like knowing what to expect / look out for - good AND bad

I thought the same about 4Ever's scan - that follicle about to burst is actually the first ever pic of your LO

No symptoms here - not even imagined ones. Just absolutely zilch - maybe because I've been too busy to obsess, maybe complete lack of symptoms is a symptom . It is still too early really - 6DPO, so I am still hopeful

Had a lazy morning. Booked my place in a 5pm spinning class and, since DP has actually decided he wants to declutter the pushchair understairs cupboard, am gonna help out

bluesatinsash · 06/09/2009 13:40

Morning Afternoon All ,

Jools - keep up with the non-symptoms and then a BFP will jump out and surprise you... FWIW I've never had any symptoms pre-BFP other than raging bad mood two days before which I think was caused by the Progesterone surge as I never really get PMT (I'm just slightly irritable all month long ).

Hey Buddha - can share your pain re: SPD. I had it with DS and had to wear a support stocking type thing round my middle/lower back which velcroed at the front which did help. It's starting again this time but do think wearing fit flops all summer has helped but can't really wear them with my woolly tights! Have you been referred to the Physio? Make sure you take lots of breaks form your desk and walk about too.

MLS - enjoy the party - 2 year olds full of sugar - help ma boab!

LBM - I would love a fast natural birth like Vjay's as had 36 hour labour followed by section with DS...

Any volunteers to start new thread??

Joolsiam · 06/09/2009 14:28

How about "Emmsys Angels in Weeble Land - we may wobble but we won't fall down" ??

More non-symptoms - burst into tears on DP as he got a wasn't listening to me - ended up a snotty mess for over an hour

Operation do up the understairs cupboard is well under way - all crap removed Have been googling for ideas on shelving / racking - think he started wondering about my sanity when I talked about getting some wall racking that we could perhaps hang a buggy on He then asked me when I was due, so I had to let him know dates - he's gone off to the pub to recover now !

barbiebigpants · 06/09/2009 14:50

girls tell me what you want the new thread to be called and where in the topics you want it posted and ill do it

vjay great names...second is dh name so it has to be good! hope you are coping well and enjoying the new mummy feeling!

budda poor you! nobody tells you all the bad stuff do they? hope you feel better soon

jools no symptoms?? are you sure...oh well like you said its early days so we have plenty more time to help you spot them! ps loving the pushchair cupboard!!

blue you looked gorgeous in your dress, very glam not got anything planned for ages in which i can dress up like that..missed the only wedding this year, although by the sounds of it dh made the most of the beer it!

mls how you doing hun...i think it was you who asked? my sis was married for 2 weeks decided on honeymoon she didnt love him. I think they both knew before the wedding things werent right but put it down to pre wedding nerves, sadly the week of the wedding i wasnt much help as i was having the mc she is happy now and brought a new car to celebrate her anniversary! (her excuse was that her 2 seater wouldnt be good for baby and me when i went home!)

curly not seen you for a while, hope everything is good with you...not long til your 20 week scan

mm so many times you have saved me from myself, thankyou again...hope you are not flooded in up there in scotland?

Just back from meeting with manager, im going to five days a week, getting fri and sat off...yipppppeeeeee
Although i have to work an hour extra a day and for the next 4 sats do a course for which i wont be paid for im learning to do a new type of nail extention..so once the baby is here if i dont return to the spa i can at least become a trainer for this type of nail, there will be only 3 trainers in the uae...so ill be free lance and work as and when needed. So i benefit in the end....

happy weekends to you all xxx
