Hello MrsKate Congratulations!!!!! Let's hold hands and get past our last dates together. (mine was 9+1 so timing is just about perfect) Despite being missing-in-action the lovely MLS was pleased by your news too.

Gracie Bet you're soo happy to have such a good friend to share your pg with.

Barbie Hope you're ok today.

Vjay If those pains don't give you the kick up the bum to pack that bag, I don't know what will You're running the risk of your DH packing it for you

Annie Hope the back's better soon.

Cupcake Lucky DH After our bonaza my poor DH has hit a drought. He says I just used him He's right

Blue Where are you decorating?

Moon Hope you're off somewhere nice today?

Hoping How's the kittens now?

Buddha (spelt it right this time) Hope you're back's better soon too. Halfway? Exciting!

I dug out my preganancy bible (What to expect when you're expecting) the other day but it feaked my out so I put it back In the interests of my new embracing approach I dug it back out today and read the pregnancy diet part. Quite proud of me!!

Curlywurlee · 26/07/2009 20:50

Just checking in to see how barbie is and to congratulate Kate and as usual it has taken me about two hours to catch up with the jibberjabber

barbie how are doing honey? The day before scan is always worrying and it is natural to think the worst, I love the word horrormones, very very apt Just hang in there to see that little jumping bean. I will be holding your hand and thinking of you. What time (uk) is your scan?

cupcake well done on starting such a lucky thread. Hope it brings lots of good news. Tell your DH he has made me cry Birthday bd'ing is good, I'm still too scared to have sex so not quite sure how we will celebrate dh's birthday which is coming up

Kate our first BFP on the new thread, let's have loads more. I am so made up for you and was so pleased when gracie texted me the news. Now put your feet up and let that hospital know that gracie's new desk will need an extra chair

Moon I am so pleased for you and DH honey. YAYYYYYYYYY, I think it will really help ok, grapefruit juice CHECK, bd every second night from day 8 CHECK , sexy underwear CHECK. I think we're ready... Hmm, maybe I am getting too involved, back off curly

gracie keep those medium pants on - at least till I catch up It's a funny time, isn't it. I was dying to tell my hairdresser on saturday but held back. I guess the fear will never totally leave us. I've told all my sisters now though

VJ Time for a new extra large strap-on then.. sorry couldn't resist

blue lol at you on the training course. I was in a meeting the other day and they took out a massive plate of rolls and mini-quiches. All I could smell was egg and I had to leave the room and pretend to get some water They were all so busy scoffing it down that they didn't even notice I wasn't eating

Where is jools gone? Are you okay honey? And where is the lovely mermaid? xxx

A big plea to the stork /fate/bfp fairies from me too for hoping fingers crossed for you this month honey xxx

Neeko I decided exactly the same - to think positive for this one. Strangely I have been a lot calmer, with the exception of the occasional panic pre-scan. I just don't want to miss out on this precious time. Of course I'm still making a bit effort to not bond too much just in case I still smile everytime I remember that you've got a bfp, I am so made up for you

How was the airshow annie? Hope the rain stayed away!

buddha hope the back is a bit better. I think I have let work get too busy again, it's hard not to but I finish work on wednesday for two weeks holidays so will take it easy after then

4ever thinking of you today and hoping beyond hope that TEW has stayed away xxx

Big waves to sabs MM ginger iggy sophable baking MLS becks lion and scorpio

Neeko · 26/07/2009 21:14

Evening Curly Nice to hear you sounding so chipper! Glad to hear you have a holiday coming up. It's good to be able to sit back and breathe. Can't believe you of all people can't think creatively for DH's b'day if a BD is off the cards[wink}

GracieGirl · 26/07/2009 21:30

My DH has just asked me if i'm actually happy that i'm pregnant cos i've not seemed very excited about it so far. Men really haven't got a clue have they!!!

Neeko · 26/07/2009 21:34

Oh Gracie he clearly has his doctor's head on! I think it's sooo much easier for them to switch off while we obsessthink about it every second minute.

SabsBigPants · 26/07/2009 22:00

Hello ladies, hope everyone had a good weekend

First of all congrats mrskate SOOO happy for you!

hoping ive got everything crossed for you for later on this week

neeko i like your positive thinking about embracing your pg

moon sex in the shower I remember the days! I've forgotten what sex is!

budda half way already, wow! Your scan is on my 5th wedding anniversay! I bet you cant wait.

cupcake that is sooo sweet of your DH!

barbie hope your feeling a bit better hun

annie how was the airshow? I've been suffering from bad back pain as well at the moment. Hope you're not suffering too much either vjay. My midwife told me not to start raspberry leaf tea until 37 weeks...

Talking of bigpants, how come only vjay annie lionstar and myself have actually changed our names to add bigpants

I know I am in such a fortunate position to be at 31 weeks / exactly 2 months away from my EDD but I'm at the really uncomfortable stage now where I'm feeling sorry for myself. Luckily the flu is much better but I'm now suffering from low back pain, upper back pain because my boobs are getting bigger, last time I got measured I was 38dd, i cant be getting much bigger than that can I! I've also been feeling sick, loss of appetite, hot and thirsty all the time and nothing fits At least I can wear indian clothes (salwar kameez) at the weekend which is much more free flowing than jeans and t-shirt. On the plus side I only have 2 weeks and 2 days of work left! So sorry if my moaning has offended anyone, I promise I wont do it again

The builder came yesterday to fit the extractor fan and do the tiling in the bathroom. He was meant to come back today to finish the bathroom and tile the kitchen, but he didnt turn up! We want to start antenatal classes on saturday mornings but cant until all the work in the house is done, as DH needs to be around at home. I escaped to my mums. Went to buy more unisex baby clothes today - no more now!

Sabs waves to gracie curly mm jools mermaid and sorry for missing anyone out

bakingqueen · 26/07/2009 23:29

Hello ladies finlly I have escaped from my nights! Well sort of did not get up until 12 today after not being able to sleep until 4! Anyway hope all you lovely ladies are having a lovely day x

Kate- congratulations am so pleased for you just hope the pains settle then you can enjoy your bfp that bit more

Sabs - sorry to hear your getting more uncomfortable just think wont be long before you have your baby to take away all the memories of this discomfort

Iggy - Jury duty sounds exciting! Hope its an intresting case for you and not something mundane like car parking tickets!

Gracie- So pleased things are going well with you how exciting looking at baby things. Loving the desk job idea as well 9-5 must be a novelty!

Moon - try not to worry about the bleeding am sure it is just your body settling down

Barbie - Just to let you know am thinking of you and wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow am sure you will feel 100% better to see a healthy bean on a scan

mls - sorry to hear you are leaving us for a while you will be missed hope you come back soon

hoping- get a goog feeling this could be your month have my fingers crossed for a bfp for you this month and this thread

Blue- glad to hear you are continuing to ttc would not be the same without you here

Vjay - sorry to hear about the back pain hope that gets easier for you

Neeko- Congratulations on your bfp too am so pleased for you

Buddha- half way there that must be very exciting hope it flies by for you

Cupcake - how sweet is your dh!

Nothing exciting to report here passed all the exams I sat in June so can now continue back at college in September as well as going to work! Took my last clomid this morning for this cycle have an uss on Friday to look at follicle size and depending on taht scan may get an injection - not sure of what or another scan in a few days so a bit nervous about it all. The clomid has given me hot flushes which keep happening at the most random times so hoping they will go for the rest of the cycle. Lots of bd actions coming up in the bakingqueen house I feel over the next few weeks. However will be on a 3ww after bd action as told cannot do pregnancy test until day 37 as cycle length could be affected. It takes all my strength to wait until day 27 never mind an extra 10 days! Will be needing you all for thae extra wait.

barbie1 · 27/07/2009 05:43

hello girls, im running late today....totally slept in. I was attempting to take my mind off the scan, so the longer i slept the less time i have to worry think about it

Scan is at 3.20 my time....so 12.20 your time. Its a 45 min appt, if it all goes well it will double up as my first midwife appt too.

I promise i will update asap, and will focus on you girls more once i pull my hand out of the sand.....

Speak soon xxx

MrsKate · 27/07/2009 06:22

im doing a gracie been up since 4.30 with bloody back ache and feeling sick . seems a bit soon for all that yet . .

hope everyone is ok

thinking of you barbie for scan xxxxx

barbie1 · 27/07/2009 08:15

kate if you remember i had the worse backache in the early weeks, so much so that i would lie on the bed and cry. Thats one of the reasons i went to the doctors so early on. There is a gel you can use that is safe in pregnancy and it kind of relieves the pain...working in a and e you will probably know what i mean, its worth a try! My back ache is back now so i can totally understand where you are coming from! xxx

SabsBigPants · 27/07/2009 09:01

Good luck barbie for later on....Thinking of you....

Neeko · 27/07/2009 09:05

Morning girlies!

Barbie Thinking of you today and really hope you get the good news you deserve.

Kate Hope the labs are analysing your blood right now and then sending you home.

Sabs Sorry to hear you're feeling uncomfortable. Do you have a birthing ball? If not please buy one. Mine really helped my backache either by sitting on it or kneeling on the floor and sort of leaning over it. Your ante-natal class will probably also show you some exercises to do on all 4s which stretch and strengthen your back. for you that your tiler went awol. Hope you release the pg woman hormones on him when you see him next BTW moan away on here. this is your thread too

Bakingqueen Congrats on the exams - clever you! I'm quite excited for you with the clomid. I know a couple of women who've used it and were successful on the 1st attempt. Fingers crossed.

Happy Monday morning to everyone else.

My silly pg dreams have started. Last night Gracie and I were running away from swine flu!

cupcakefairy · 27/07/2009 09:23

Morning girls! Just to say thinking of you lots today barbie

Hi braveCurly who has told all her sisters!! that's so great. (How many sisters do you have by the way? I have 2, sisters are great aren't they!)

neeko to the dreams and to your dh feeling used bless 'em!

gracie to your dh asking if you were happy. Just so sad that none of us feel able to be fully 'happy' about being pregnant now. Hope he gave you a nice cuddle after you explained your head was still in the sand!

baking hello! I'm v excited about the clomid too but to day 37!! You poor girl.

Can't stop so just waving hello to everybody, especially mermaid and jools and MLS if you're lurking. xxx

OP posts:
GracieGirl · 27/07/2009 09:30

I wish I'd have know MrsKate was up at 4:30am. I got up at exactly that time for a wee then didn't get back to sleep till after DH went to work.

I'm worrying about MrsKate, she'll be with the doctor now. At least blood tests come back within the hour at A&E.

Barbie thinking of you for your scan too. Will your DH be able to go with you?

Sabs you rant all you like, everyone on here is allowed to rant whenever they choose.

BakingQueen good to hear your nights are finally over. Waiting till day 37 will be tough, but hopefully worth it!

Curly good to hear you have 2 weeks off work coming up soon. Yes I'll definitely wait for you before moving to big pants.

Neeko LOL at your silly pregnant dreams! I'm getting the most ridiculous dreams everyday, all sort of slightly stressful (running away / doing an impossible task). Last nights was having a day to pack up a whole school that was closing into little cardboard boxes incuding all the plants which I had to dig up and lie flat in boxes.

Come on Kate any news yet?!

Neeko · 27/07/2009 09:34

Cupcake Hope you're rushing off to do something exciting. I'm of your 2 sisters. I've always wanted a sister although I love my brother to death.

Gracie glad it's not just me on the silly dreams. Seems I'm dreaming about your work and your dreaming about mine!

GracieGirl · 27/07/2009 09:38

X posted Cupcake. You're right its sad we don't get to enjoy our pregnancies after a miscarriage. I think he understands more after our chat. I just can't go through it all again from being happy in the first place. Somehow if I'm a bit reserved about it I have less far to fall if it goes wrong. I know that theory doesn't actually work and I'd be just as devastated if it happened again.
My friend who is about 30 weeks pregnant now with her 2nd child and has never had a complication in either pregnancy, asked me when I was about 8 weeks when I was going to start bonding with the baby as I could have attachment issues if I didn't bond with it soon!

Neeko · 27/07/2009 09:41

Gracie You HAVE bonded with this baby. If you hadn't then you wouldn't spend such a lot of time worrying about whether it's ok or not. Deal with your pregnancy how you want/need to. There's no right or wrong way and you're being a great mum already by protecting your lo in the only wy yo know how.

bluesatinsash · 27/07/2009 09:45

morning all,

Barbie - will be thinking about you at 12.20pm today, sending every positive sticky vibe my lovely x

cupcake - I have two sisters too! I'm the baby of the family still at 38

Buddha - well done for getting half way!! Lets hope time speeds up for the second half

Vjay - you are so nearly there, less than one month to go, its so exciting!!!!

Neeko - we're doing up the hall/stairs/upper landing as the magnolia painted walls just aren't cutting it anymore . We moved here 4 years ago (Persimmon new build) and I've gone into serious nesting overload. I did the same as you re: giving DS a 'tour' of the house when we brought him back from hospital a la 'baby whisperer' (more of that later).

Gracie - DH and me are only now starting to believe. He cuddled my bump for the first time the other day .

Hey curly - hope to see you dipping your toe in the big pant pool shortly . Egg still gives me the willies unless its fried and on toast - yum!

sabs - the last bit is tough especially in the wamr summer months. Try and keep busy and shop, shop, shop!! Have you bought any baby routine books? I would recommend 'The Baby Whisperer' its a great read about getting baby into a routine and avoiding bad habits but not as strict as Gina Ford (although I liked her's too). I've not changed my name as last time I changed my name at xmas I mc the next week .

bakingqueen - lovely to hear from you.

4ever - how was the footie on Friday?

And finally mega congratulations to Kate - may the next 8 weeks fly in x

Neeko · 27/07/2009 09:50

Morning Blue
The decorating sounds good. Yay for the nesting instinct kicking in. Sorry to hear you were in big pants at you last MC. I had no idea you were as far on as that

Have just joined an ante-natal thread in keeping with my positive attitude. Feel like I've just stepped off a cliff into thin air.

GracieGirl · 27/07/2009 09:53

Well done Neeko - I still haved looked at an ante-natal thread yet - far too scary! Maybe i should have a quick peak, then run quickly back home to Emmsys before anyone sees me.

bluesatinsash · 27/07/2009 09:55

Neeko I thankfully wasn't in big pants, was 'only' 8 weeks. we changed our names at xmas to be xmasy i.e. Vjay was vjaymerrilyonhigh.

I've swithered whether to join ante-natal but am on another long running thread where alot of us are now due @ the same time so will just stick with that and this one of course

Right better get down to some work to pay for all the decorating.

Neeko · 27/07/2009 09:58

I know what you both mean. This thread will always be 'home' for me too. Hope I haven't tempted fate I'm off to do some work too - housework!
Fingers crossed for Barbie and Mrskate
