See you soon. The bar's open!

Scorp if its a no go this month, then also buy some of that Preseed stuff.

Meant to tell you all that my emergency next day delivery pack of preseed never arrived. Was about to call the online shop to scream at them for ruining my chances of EVER conceiving when I realised that they had sent me an email (went to junk mail) saying that my payment couldn't be processed. Turns out that in my hysterical state I typed in the wrong card details Seriously, when I do things like that it is no surprise that I have managed to remain un-diffed for all this time. Perhaps I should visit the doctor to see if we've been putting it in the right hole?

NeedChoos · 31/07/2009 12:08

Hello all

Longwee oooo good luck but GET THEE to the chemist pronto!!
Cosmo well done with interview!! Good Luck..

laurielou · 31/07/2009 12:19

cosmo sounds promising.

For God's Sake long have you been to the chemist yet? I have work to do & can't possibly get on with it until I know. Gosh, some people are just so selfish

longwee · 31/07/2009 12:24

Thanks Laydeez... I now have a piss stick in my bag...

Given how expensive the suckers are at home I thought I would be forking out a fortune for then (I live in Malawi and anything imported is about twice the price it is at home). But instead I was presented with a little plastic thing like a tomato ketchup sachet with a sketch of a glass of pee on the front, rough diagrammatic instructions as to how yes/no/maybe show up and little else. All for the handsome price of about 40p. So I?m not going to be very convinced either way ? plus it?s unlikely to be any kind of fancy early response gizmo so don?t know if it?d be too early to tell yet... Ah well, at least it can mean I get to obsess a while longer if it's a nay. In retrospect I should have bought half a dozen...

So given that there are no instructions can anyone provide any advice about anything I need to do or not do? I think you're supposed to do them in the morning - but does alcohol affect them as I?m gonna need a stiff drink tonight...

PS Ms Scorpy they sounds like symptoms to me....

extremesitting · 31/07/2009 12:25

Dunno if you lot can see the same stuff onscreen as I can, but the column to the right always irritates me beyond belief. Having said that, there do seem to be words of wisdom for a change in the "Tip of the Day"

Read: Lie about your due date. Add two weeks on when giving the glad news, then, if you go overdue, you won't be driven mad by endless Have You Had It Yet? phone calls. frazzledgirl

What a brilliant idea! Most of my friends have called me bawling when overdue, thanks to the whole world wanting to know if they have pushed one out yet. They call me because I haven't called them. Because in real life I am pretending to myself that it isn't happening

This implantation malarky... is it supposed to go on for days? I've had belly weirdness for three days now. If its not a boc then I think I should probably go for a checkup. Perhaps my liver has decided its had enough?!

extremesitting · 31/07/2009 12:29

Poor Longwee

Perhaps you are supposed to pee in a glass and put the ketchup sachet into it, package and all?!

triggerhappybaby · 31/07/2009 12:30

@ longwee - talk about the power of suggestion. Not five minutes after raging about the lack of RTOD, what should appear???

I'M BACK TO NORMAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(annoyingly I'm off for a week in Cyprus tomorrow where Homme and I were going to indulge wildly. Still, that's my life for you - also RTOD waited till I brought a bag to work with me OTHER than the bag that has the nation's supply of mattresses and Super-mice in it so I've had to make do with an emergency stash of regular mice I found in my desk drawer )

extremesitting · 31/07/2009 12:31

Longwee: Any of these? As you can see I've got time on my hands and I am willing to help!

laurielou · 31/07/2009 12:32

I still feel I have symptoms of up-diffidness even though I'm having the RTOD!!! I'm convinced I'm one of those liars freaks who has periods despite being up the duff. Nausea, extreme tiredness, & a large dose of wishing - that's about all my, ahem, "symptoms".

I've taken Evening Primrose Oil for years - I can't stand eating fish so figured I needed some kind of oil in my system else I'd shrivel like a prune. Didn't know in helped in the damp gussett area - joy!

long no words of wisdom re POAS. I'd like to say how hard can it be, but I managed to mess up 2 POAS OV sticks. Fingers crossed for you!

extremesitting · 31/07/2009 12:33

Aw Trig that is bollocks

NeedChoos · 31/07/2009 12:45

at a week in Cyprus! But nice to see you back to normal, Trig.

I will sit quitely in the corner and not get involved in ANY thing technical as I'm simply retarded and cannot follow instructions - some genetic throwback / problem.

But am on the edge of my seat.

Cosmosis · 31/07/2009 12:46

oooh scorps that all sounds most encouraging. (wonders where my life changed so much that I would find someone elses itchy nips encouraging ) when can you POAS??

longwee it's not some weird forgeign type POAS kit is it?? eye of newt and all that?

longwee · 31/07/2009 12:51

Cheers extremie - but is none of those. I'll give it a shot in the morning and decide how I want to interpret the result then!

Don't have much in the way of other symptoms - real or imagined. Have had period like pains for the last week but no period. And I feel a bit sick when I think about the possibility of being pregnant - but that's about it! Ah well, this time tomorrow I'll have a bit more of a clue...

longwee · 31/07/2009 12:57

Cozzy - that's a point, maybe I should go and visit the local witchdoctor... although I would no doubt end up with the local angry mob out at me for being unmarried and sprogless at 34. Everyone else here has at least 7 by my age so can only be considered a dangerous freak...

extremesitting · 31/07/2009 13:01

Maybe you could go back and ask the pharmacist to tell you what to do with it? Embarrassing I know... but...

longwee · 31/07/2009 13:12

Sorry - crossed wires - I'm not too worried about what to do with it - it appears there's a mini piss stick of sorts inside the tomato ketchup sachet - I was wondering what kind of instructions you usually get with these things since I have none with mine - ie length of time you should wait after your last widdle till you piss on it - whether alcohol can affect the result - how early pregnancy can be picked up - that kind of thing...

longwee · 31/07/2009 13:15

Oh yeah - and whether you should drink any more or less than usual before using. I usually drink tons of water but I guest that could dilute the result...

Obsessive, moi?

idealcamel · 31/07/2009 13:20

longweeonthestick First thing in the morning is supposed to be the time when the pregnancy hormone is at its strongest. Most tests will pick it up "from the first day of your missed period" (direct quote because I now know the literature off by heart)so if you're 6 days overdue it should be super-accurate. I'd definitely have a last gin - or many - before finding out for sure...

extremesitting · 31/07/2009 13:21

IMHO if you are 6 days over then you should be able to go POAS now. The one time in my life that I was pregnant I pissed on a stick after having a couple of nerve quenching drinks. It was about 8 in the evening and no matter how many sticks I peed on the results remained the same.

longwee · 31/07/2009 13:28

oooh - tempting to nip to the loo and do it now...! but will wait till tomorrow morning as I guess that will be more likely to be accurate - and if I get a -ve this afternoon I won't get chance to get another test today and I'm away at the weekend so it will be a whole weekend of wondering till I can get another... So yes, will wait till morning...

Yikes....

Scorpette · 31/07/2009 13:34

Poor Trig holiday and TTC bummed out.

Laurie if it makes you feel any better (worse?), my friend's Mum was on her period when she gave birth to her . Had not put on a single lb in weight (was a size 10) and had had regular periods, period pains, the lot, then one day thought she was going to have diarrhoea, nipped to the loo and had a baby instead of a poo. Took her about 5 mins, apparently. She was also in her 30s, so it's a happy BESH story. Well, not so happy for her, as she didn't want kids, but that's another matter.

Thanks for all the support (and interest in my itchy nips - I won't be posting any pics, sorry to disappoint ). I'm prolly fooling myself but I shall enjoy it for another 10 days or so (The Rustiness should be due a week on Monday - stay away, vile stainage, stay away!).

Do we have to wait till tomorrow morn to discover longweestick's result? Arrgh!

longwee · 31/07/2009 13:52

Monday morning actually Scorps - I'm away for the weekend away from internet access... Thanks for the interest though

VeryAngryGusset · 31/07/2009 13:55

I feel like I need to know what itchy nips look like now.

Is everyone else failing spectacularly to make any use of their Friday? I have something urgent to finish for Monday and am struggling.

RunLyraRun · 31/07/2009 13:57

Scorps at that story

Now you know I'm lurking

Missing ginpuddinghag though, hope she's OK

VeryAngryGusset · 31/07/2009 14:00

Re: diffed and periods too - I convince myself this is the case every month despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Loving the idea of no weight gain, short labour and feeling a bit like I need a poo. These stories are what I cling to. Also love the idea of not knowing of pregnancy - cuts out all sorts of angst!
