Poor camel - as one wise puppet once sang, it sucks to be you. Why oh why should our bodies be against us like this ? [feckin' annoyed emoticon]

extremesitting · 07/08/2009 16:06

Its a cake like a shoe...it's a SHOE CAKE! Is no one else having mid nineties flashbacks to Vic and Bob? I'm sure they went on about shoe cakes....

YES!!!
(watch from about 2 mins in) I remember something from the nineties!!! Hurray!!!

extremesitting · 07/08/2009 16:12

Really Sorry ideal have a little cuddle..

Scorp I fear I need to remind you that I sit around my house in my dressing gown covered in toast crumbs (contains folic acid) and fag ash (contains poison).

skihorse · 07/08/2009 16:46

camel all those years you were trying not to get pregnant - RTOD was regular right? I wouldn't write yourself off just yet... a 7 day LP is "odd".

I too would like some chocolate if there's any going please. I'll also eat chocolates fashioned into turnips/sprouts/broccoli etc.

Oh and I am so annoyed with my life "today" that I've decided to blow our last 50 quid tomorrow by going skiing. huzzah!

Scorpette · 07/08/2009 19:46

Camel am blinding myself writing this on my mobile whilst in car just to send you a big hug. Keep telling yourself will be useful for that diff-holiday

Extreme shall we get matching quilted housecoats? Hell, quilted housecoats for all!

Scorpette · 07/08/2009 23:30

Got home about an hour ago (5 hour journey took 7, magic) and rush to the loo, only to find... rustiness. So no diffedness for me Bah, 2 weeks or more to go till I can get my hopes up. In the meantime, am convinced I have no eggs left. Cheggars, you've got 12 - any going spare?

idealcamel · 08/08/2009 06:05

Scorpette Am returning the sympathy. Evil tricksy bodies.

People, ta for niceness yesterday. ski The RTOD has done this to me once before - I spotted for a week before it finally arrived, while convincing myself it was an implantation bleed. Trying not to do that this time .

Off to France now. See you in a couple of weeks! Hopefully I will be able to find the new home...

Scorpette · 08/08/2009 12:29

Thanks camel . Enjoy La Belle France - maybe the change of scenario might be just what the old lady-workings need? Fingers crossed Have I missed summat about you moving to France? Is it a hol or a move? Whichever, good luck!

I dunno where my weird symptoms came from earlier this month - defo had odd flutterings that I have never experienced before Maybe the egg fertilised but failed to implant? That's what am telling myself, anyway

Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh, so nice to be home again. As we walked round from the car park to the front of the apartment block, we saw the local chavs have knocked down all the 'For Sale/To Let' signs around here and the private garden was strewn with fag ends, lager cans and fast food wrappers. Brought a tear to my eye, so it did. However, TYF did have to physically restrain me from shouting out of from the window later on, as was stood watching 2 teen girls at the bus stop outside, one of whom had a baby with her (its face was so dirty it was visible from my 1st floor window, with only a street lamp lighting them), drinking alcopops and bellowing obscenities - only stopping to yell at the baby which kept crying. It was 11pm. Cue much deranged muttering of 'how come they can get pregnant and I can't?' (slightly OTT when it's only 1st month of TTC, but hey, I'm pre-menstrual!)

extremesitting · 09/08/2009 10:28

I'm out again this month too

Bollocks is what it is.

Scorpette · 09/08/2009 11:26

Absolute bastard buggering bollocks extreme. This RTOD seems to be gearing up to being a truly evil one - just hope that somehow means I'll ovulate properly and pop out a cracker of an egg.

Every mag and paper I read or just so much as glance at in the shops seems to be chock-full of either articles about child abuse/neglect OR women falling pregnant with triplets or summat after being on the pill and using condoms AND their husband having had a vasectomy (I may be slightly exaggerating). TYF ran into the living room thinking I was injured yesterday after I yelled incomprehensible noises of fury at an article about a 19 yr old who'd had 6 abortions cos she didn't like using contraception or making her partners use it either.

I'm even more deranged than usual. As I say to TYF, I just want to get updiffed so I can start being neurotic and weird about pregnancy and birth, instead of being neurotic and weird about fertility. Can I get an 'Amen', my BESH Sisters?

skihorse · 09/08/2009 13:03

Scorpette - that's because condoms are mingin' innit!

I am feeling very zen this month as I have decided that I am barren and I've not even worked out my dates yet.

triggerhappybaby · 09/08/2009 13:36

I'm Back! And Bronzed! And trailing a very weird RTOD in my wake which has literally been on one day and off the next for the last week. Has not spoiled my hol though not one bit so I'm refreshed and ready for drink (maintaied relative sobriety whilst away even though on all-incl. Thought I'd give my liver a break as well as my brain!)

Sorry to be so bone-bloody-idle, but can anyone give me a summary of where we're at? Is anyone pregnant? Does anyone think tey are? Or have we all, in fact, sychronized our RTODs like we live in a convent or summat?

skihorse · 09/08/2009 13:46

TROG you're back!

I don't think we've got any new preggos since you've left. Everyone thought they were then their bodies fucked with their heads. Poor longwee had a very early-mc so she's still on the cocktails.

extremesitting · 09/08/2009 14:00

AMEN!!!!

Welcome home trig!

longwee · 09/08/2009 14:43

Right, it's the Observer to trot out the old BESH bashing line this morning unfortunately. Why would I expect more from them? Sample phrases: "fertility TIMEBOMB", "...her chance of conceiving naturally is biologically in freefall". Freefall??? Agggghhhhhh quiiiiiick everyone, your chances of having a baby are falling out of the SKYYYYYYYY. Not very helpful language, I would conject. Grrrrr.....

When did anyone last see an article that says MEN should pull themselves together earlier, stop acting like overgrown teenagers, find a nice girl and darn well make sure they settle down by the age of 25. Anyone? No of course not, coz it's not them that's the problem is it? It's us, selfish careerist slatterns that we are, rebuffing the hordes of men desperate to have babies with us, who are hugging themselves and weeping, begging us to commit to them so that they can fulfill their lifelong desires and produce darling little bundles of joy....

Any chance of some balance from anywhere in the media...?

triggerhappybaby · 09/08/2009 14:46

woop woop!! longwee my sincere commiserations, you are in refined company for that kind of thing though I must say. I brought some Cyprus sand home to chuck in your eyes by way of sympathy...

Ah it's good to be back. I burnt my knees on the last day, in case anyone's interested. And I have white triangles over my boobs the way porn stars tend to these days

longwee · 09/08/2009 14:52

Cheers trigsy, shit innit? I spent 2 days blubbing but have pulled myself together now...

Was nocoffee pregzoid when you left coz she is as far as I recall...

Scorpette · 09/08/2009 14:58

All hail the return of Trig! ski is spot on with her analysis: we all thought we were pg but collective madness has turned to collective RTODing.

Anyone not wishing to think seriously of stockpiling paracetamol and razor blades should NOT read the lead article in today's Observer about, yes, you guessed it, BESHes. 'Women at 30 urged to test for fertility' is the headline. Those strong enough to cope - and able to get past opening quotes such as "They think 'It won't happen to me, I'm 37, I go to the gym twice a week, I don't drink, I don't smoke, I'm fit-everything about me is young'. Well it is, except for your ovaries'" - without looking up at the ceiling and wondering if the light fitting could hold a noose, can torture themselves further read on here: www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2009/aug/09/fertility-mot-children-nhs

The worst thing is, substitute the 37 for 36 and that's exactly what I've been telling myself since my last birthday. Well, that's my day fucked Convinced it will never happen now. Am going back to bed. Harumph.

Scorpette · 09/08/2009 15:00

Haha, longwee, great minds an' all that?

triggerhappybaby · 09/08/2009 16:04
