So here it is... our shiney new thread... hope you all see it soon or i will be here all on my own.

OP posts:
Sunnydale · 28/06/2009 21:10

Hello all. Hope everyone is well. Been watching Glastonbury on TV all weekend and wishing I was there. Issy, can't wait to hear all about it. Can I just take this opportunity to say: HOW HOT IS BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN??! Not a fan of his music but by jiminy, you've gotta admit the man looks good for 61.
Ahem, sorry about that. Headfairy, thanks vv much for the reassurance. I feel much better now, but it was pretty hairy for about four days back there. Like you, I think I knew all along it wasn't morning sickness. I called my nearest EPU on Friday and was all set to take myself off for a scan, until I realised I'm not even 6 weeks yet and therefore the exercise would be pretty pointless. Might get one done at the end of next week, though.
Bubble you're welcome to obsess on here as much as you like if it helps! When did you BD? Did you go for the day on, day off approach or the full-on daily? (if you don't mind me asking). This month I did a day on, day off from CD 13 - CD 23 (when I finally got a + on the OPK) plus an extra BD for good measure on CD24. And it worked! I remember saying to DH "well, we can do no more" after the final BD... and indeed it was true. Anyway best best best of luck, I have everything crossed for you.

HeadFairy · 28/06/2009 23:51

Righty, it's a night shift, I have a scary film on Channel 4 to keep my heart pounding and lots of news to catch up on so here goes...

Bubble isn't it hot at the moment? did you see any of Glasto? what about poor Jacko? Have you seen the pelicans at St James's park? That last one was what my mum always used to say whenever we started a conversation about a touchy subject I can't stop you symptom spotting but I hope you find something to distract you this week. Meanwhile I've got everything crossed for you, and what amazing news about your dh's sperm count. That's one less thing to worry about

sunnydale glad to hear you were reassured. It's always better to err on the safe side and get it checked out, but these things usually don't cause any problem. I was convinced my mc at Christmas was caused by that rotten flu that was going round but the mw at the EPU assured me that it was really unlikely and that it was just a pregnancy that wasn't going to work.

Whenever I get worried about these sorts of things I always try to remember abigail witchalls who was stabbed in the neck and paralysed and only later they found out that she was 8 weeks pg when she was stabbed. They'd given her God knows what drugs when they were trying to save her life, and only a couple of weeks later did they find out she was pg. Amazingly the baby was totally unharmed and was born healthy. It's amazing how the body protects your baby.

Blue that's a shame Boden don't do maternity. Surely they're missing a trick? All the Bodenites I see where we live have hundreds of children and seem to drift about serenely in pretty perfectly clean and ironed crisp white cotton. Mind you, they're all so tiny they probably don't need maternity clothes, just wear a size 12 instead of their usual 6!

I'm looking forward to hearing all the Glasto news Issy... hope you're not feeling too sick and tired girl and all those suffering from ms, suzi when's your next scan? I hope all is well.

Well I'm officially in the second trimester now. 12 weeks feels like it should be but apparently according to my EPU it's 14 weeks. That's the point they no longer will see me as it's no longer considered early pregnancy. It's a nice feeling, but I can't wait now for my first mw appt in two weeks when I get to hear the heartbeat. Last time I think I had a mw appt at 12 weeks, but I was feeling a bit blase this time and said I was happy to wait until 16 weeks when it's easier to hear the heartbeat. I'm starting to wish I hadn't been so confident.

Aaaaaanyway.. I'm off to snooze work all night, have a good one. I hope you're not all sweltering too much. We've got a giant freestanding fan in our bedroom and my nap this afternoon was bliss. I can highly recommend

ta-ta xx

Sunnydale · 29/06/2009 08:59

Blimey Head, what sort of hours are you on at the mo? Is it harder, being pg and working nights? Hope you are not too knackered. Huge congrats on officially reaching your second trimester. You are officially allowed not to worry now! Or at least, worry less.
A very positive sentiment, thinking of poor Abigail Witchalls. You are absolutely right.
Hope everyone else is well

SuziBhoy · 29/06/2009 09:03

well girls ive now started spotting and im soo upset... got my scan tomorrow and i think things could be bad... not sure how im going to handle losing another pregnancy!! this is so crap

HeadFairy · 29/06/2009 09:04

sunny I'm on 11pm-11am for four days this week. I would normally be expected to do five nights but I decided when I returned to work after ds that I couldn't face them anymore. It's a 60 hour week, overnight, it's hard enough when you don't have children. It's pretty blooming awful when you're pg, it's downright horrendous when pg with a toddler! Still, one down three to go. I've just had a bacon sarnie so that'll give me the energy to get home and fall in to bed!

HeadFairy · 29/06/2009 09:05

suzi I'm so sorry, I x posted. I hope the spotting turns out to be nothing. I've had two episodes of it this pregnancy and it scared the bejesus out of me, but all was fine. Keeping my fingers crossed the same is true for you. Can you bring your scan forward?

girlwithacurl · 29/06/2009 09:19

Hi all, firstly thank you all for the congratulations, not sure it has sunk in, you guys are the only people I have told (apart forn DP of course) so I have yet to say the words "i am pregnant" to anyone, and DP and I are too paranoid to say it to each other. Will make appoint with Dr this week so will get to say it to her... Sorry for going awol we had a lovely weekend away in Devon for a wedding, was hard not to drink (and to make excuses why I wasn't as I am normally a total lush!) also the veggie option had blue cheese in it, so had to do my best impression of a spoilt little girl and say I didn't like it (when really i LOVE blue cheese!)

Next... CONGRATULATIONS sunny this truly is the luckiest thread ever!! we are so nearly there now! bubble how are you doing??
irish sounds like you are all set for this month, you can do no more. The one thing I did differently this month was use preseed, I don't know for sure if that was what did it, but in a very non scientific way as it was the only thing that I changed I think it must have made a difference!!

Suzie fingers crossed for you, really hope it turns out to be perfectly normall spotting!!

I have absolutly no symptoms except for sore (.)(.), no MS no nothing, I know I should be pleased but its really hard to believe while I have nothing thats saying to me "you are PG"... arrrg

Hello everyone else, head (bloody banks!!), jelly, Blue, Issy (hope Glasto was brill) Wasabi, sif (wave)

Sunnydale · 29/06/2009 10:03

Oh Suzi hang in there, it might well be nothing. Spotting can be normal - do you have cramps too? How heavy is it? Do you have an EPU near you? How many weeks are you, do you think? Sorry for so many qq.

Would it be bad to update the list with due dates? Is that tempting fate? I feel confused as to what stage everyone is. But I'm not sure I even want to commit my due date to paper at this early stage. Thoughts?

Head that is an impressive marathon for any person. You well deserve your bacon sarnie. My job requires me to work long hours sometimes and it's not fun at any stage, pg or otherwise.

Thinking of you Suzi

girlwithacurl · 29/06/2009 14:30

i really want a bacon sarnie now... and I am veggie!

wasabipeanut · 29/06/2009 16:02

Hi girls

Long time, no post. Have spent all my time either asleep, house hunting or looking after a hot and bothered DS. Am feeling it a bit but am gritting my teeth and getting on with it as we women do! I am feeling positiveish due to feeling like crap all the time IYSWIM but am still trying to book another scan for a week on Weds for extra reassurance. 9 weeks today just 3 weeks until the magic 12. Saturday was the equivalent day in my last pg that the bleeding started so I sort of feel as if a milestone has passed. I keep having dreams about it though Anyway, enough of my blathering.

So, firstly Sunny Yay for you! Huge congrats to you and Mr Sunny. Feel free to join me and many others in the 4 weeks and bricking it lounge in the pregnancy forum. I have found it a great outlet for my neuroses! I hope the tummy has sorted itself out also. Also sorry to hear about the burglary ? that seriously sucks.

Irish Korea looks amazing and your little menagerie at home are also seriously cute!

Bubble I?m so glad your husbands swimmers are up to the job! At least that is one part of the equation you don?t have to fret about. Happy symptom spotting!

Blue Hope the hayfever isn?t hurting you too badly. Enjoy browsing the IO brochure ? that is about as far as I will get with it this time round I think unless they have a seriously kick arse sale! How are you feeling generally? I was sorry to see that one of your other thread pals had miscarried. I hope you had a nice chilled weekend with your dh and ds by your side.

Head You have my total admiration doing nights. I think it might actually kill me seeing as I can barely stay awake past 8pm. Hope the nights fly...

Suzi Are you ok? I am of the opinion that although spotting more often than not seems to be harmless it should be checked out to stop the mother going loopy with worry. Have you called your EPU?

Right, am off to wake ds as he has had a marathon 3 hour snooz and at this rate he won?t sleep till midnight. I should have also snoozed but have spent the afternoon on the phone to estate agents. Knackered now. Will I never learn?

Enjoy the sunshine all x

bluesatinsash · 29/06/2009 16:32

Afternoon Ladies,

Hot and bothered at work but have secured a fan so now being blown about and its lurverly .

Suzi - really hope the spotting is nothing, I had some every day for 5 weeks and used to dread my morning loo trip. Sending you and your bean masses of sticky vibes for your scan tomorrow.

wasabi - time is marching on now - doesn't seem long ago that you were a BFP and your now 3 weeks off 12. Hang in there and get some rest - that's an order!

Head - hope you're getting plenty rest during the day after you mega shifts. Welcome to the second trimester I'm already in my comfy pants but not yet my post-natal size 16 chin warmers although they do look sooo comfy.

Sunny meant to say I thought the way you told your DH was lovely, on Father's Day no less, wrapping the HPT in a tissue - you big softie!

Girl - glad you had a lovely weekend away and managed to avoid the blue cheese . enjoy your lack of ms while it lasts!

sif - what's new with you? I'm still a bit inbetweeny with clothes too. Mat trousers too big, jeans too tight so wearing hipster ones which hang below bump. All my new BM clothes arrived and are being ironed by my Mum as we speak (bless her she does my ironing whilst looking after DS every Monday ).

bubble - really hope your symptoms are baby and not clomid related

Irish - have you got all your digital OPKs yet?

and finally Issy - hope you're all showered and fresh now - tell us all about Glastonbury!!

Think that's everyone! Later ladies

SuziBhoy · 30/06/2009 09:48

hey everyone, thanks for all your support!!

i went for another scan today. my bleeding got heavier this morning so i expected the worst! the sac is still there but they havent identified a yolk yet! there is some bruising that could have caused the bleeding but it could also be the pregnancy failing, so i guess im just waiting for something to happen! my bloods were taken so will get the results from those later!! I will keep you all posted! x

girlwithacurl · 30/06/2009 12:17

oh suzie have everything crossed for you, this is the worst bit, i really hope it all works out ok, my thought are with you!

JumpingJellyfish · 30/06/2009 12:28

Hello all! Wow so much has happened here in the nearly 2 weeks I've been offline..

Suzi keeping everything crossed for you- do let us know the blood test results. What a rollercoaster you poor thing xx

Sunny HUGE congrats! So so happy you got your BFP, but so sorry your hols were quite a bit less relaxing than hoped. I too got a very bad tummy bug only days after my BFP, which lasted 24hrs and was both ends. Weirdly with each pregnancy I've caught a bad bout of gastroenteritis in early first trimester, and each time it's worried me greatly, but all has been fine. Hope you feel better now.

girl Many congrats on your BFP too! Wonderful news!

irish so sorry TEW caught you again. Glad you are managing to stay upbeat though- I'm sure this is a super lucky thread and you'll be getting good news soon.

issy so glad all was fine at your scan, and hope you've had a fab time at glasto. Can't believe how the medical staff treated you though. Glad you have the sense to ignore them!

blue hope the ms does start to ease soon, it is so miserable

Big hello to wishing- well done for getting past 19 weeks, halfway there now!

bubble glad the drs put you at ease re. your DH's results and will let you stay on clomid for a while... Good, good luck!

Another big hello to Head, sif & wasabi- hope the heat isn't making you melt too much!

Well we got back from our whilwind tour of rellies yesterday. Was lovely to catch up with so many and packed in quite a lot so the kids were kept pretty busy too, but we've all come home exhausted- the 540 mile road trip each way was pretty arduous though have to say the kids were great really. I'm feeling huge all of a sudden, and can feel the baby kick quite a bit now, which is lovely. Got a mw apt later to check blood pressure...still a little confused about my dates but somewhere between 17 and 18 weeks now I think! The tiredness has eased a lot this past 10 days, which was good timing with the holiday! Anyway should be able to check in only once a week or so as still no internet at home (hoping to finally move house in a week) and only have childcare now 1 day a week for PhD purposes only... Have a job interview on 8th July so come August may be increasing work hours again, but plan to spend as much of July as possible chilling out with the kids and lapping up this unusual sunshine!

girlwithacurl · 30/06/2009 15:37

something just didn't feel right so I went to the loo... spotting... feel like I have been punshed, supposed to have a meeting in half an hour, but really want to burst into tears.

SuziBhoy · 30/06/2009 17:15

well looks like im going to miscarry!! hcg dropped and ive started to pass clots!! Heres to the next time!!

im so sorry girl but it aint over til its over... there may be a reason for it and it may not mean bad news... fingers crossed for you!! x

girlwithacurl · 30/06/2009 17:49

Thanks Suzie... I am so sorry for you! Hope your DP is there with you!

Sunnydale · 30/06/2009 20:19

Oh god, I'm so sorry Suzi. I'm so so sorry. Please be kind to yourself, and I hope you have a good support network too. Please keep in touch though I understand that being on here might not be the best at the mo... there are loads of mc threads and I'm sure you'll get support there, too.

Girl I'm thinking of you too, let's hope it's just spotting and no more, which many people have, and that it means nothing. I hope you didn't go to the meeting. It's so incredibly hard to carry on with life when you feel like you do.

Jelly lovely to hear from you, and glad you're feeling energised and had a lovely time seeing family. Enjoy the sunshine, indeed. It's so rare in this country.

Bubble, how are you? Any news from your camp?

Issy, please surface soon, I'm worrying like your grandmother would! What is wrong with me?!

Head hope the night shift isn't tiring you out too much and that the bacon sarnies are getting you through.

Well my father in law passed away and the funeral is next week when I'm supposed to be working abroad. My work will kill me for not being able to go. I am dreading telling them. I'm thinking of coming back for the day, but all that travelling... oh lordy what will a funeral be like when 7 week pg? I cry at Charlie & Lola, never mind an actual funeral service. Am terrified. Then am disgusted at being so selfish. DH needs me, this is not about me. Sorry. Ignore me. I'm all over the place. Hello to everyone else.

bluesatinsash · 30/06/2009 21:05

oh Suzi . So so sorry to hear your news. Its just shit . Hope your DP is giving you lots of support and it passes quickly.

girl - really hope your spotting is of the harmless kind. I too used to 'feel' something was up, one time at church which resulted in me knicker checking the second I got back to the car (which was parked in a quiet spot thankfully) and lo there is was brown bleeding. As I've posted before I had it every day for weeks and it floored me every time.

Sunny - so sorry to hear about your FIL passing, your poor DH . Feel for your quandry re: work and emotions and snuggling bean. You just need to talk it all through with your DH...

Jumping - welcome back and lovely to hear from you. Glad your break went well and great that the kids were fine in the car - its sooo stressful when they're not/ Lovely that you can feel baby kick too !

Hey to everyone else x

girlwithacurl · 30/06/2009 21:50

Thanks blue and sunny, it really helps to hear your experiences! TMI alert, but it's mostly brown, so I just need to wait to see what happens over the next couple of days.

Sunny, blue is right talk it through with your DH, I am sure I will understand what ever you decide! Was it unexpected? Not that it makes a difference really...

girlwithacurl · 30/06/2009 21:53

He, not "I" obviously... It's been a long day!

irishmumwannabe · 01/07/2009 09:21

Hi All,

Suzi I am so sorry to hear your news - I really hope that you are taking care of yourself and that your DP is giving you as much support as possible.

girl I really hope you are ok and that your bean is sticking in there - sticky vibes going your way.

Hello to everyone else- work mad busy but said I had to post to support Suzi and girl - talk to you all later.

wasabipeanut · 01/07/2009 14:21

Suzi I am so sorry to see your news Blue is right - it is just shit. All I can do is add my voice to all of those who have said to give yourself some time to recover. I'm sure your dp will be there for you x

Girl Any news? I hope this turns out to be a temporary hiccup rather than anything more meaningful. The psychological torture of early pregnancy after previous losses is just the worst isn't it? I still knicker check every time I go to the loo and if I feel any wetness (TMI time).

Sunny This hasn't been a good few days. I am so sorry to hear of your FIL's death. Your poor DH must be devastated. Yes, he does need you but that doesn't alter the fact that you are pg so go easy on yourself at any thoughts you may think are selfish. I doubt they make you selfish - jsut human.

Jelly Gosh, 17/18 weeks already! I'm sure for you it has crawled by but it seems to have gone very fast. I think there is an iron law which states that the pregnancies of others will always fly by at least twice as quickly as your own! Glad you had a good time rellie visiting and that you have been feeling your bean having a little workout!
Enjoy the sunshine and a bit of relaxation.

No news from me really. I am feeling a bit worried at the moment as things seem awfully quiet symptom wise apart from tiredness and incredibly uncomfy norks. Next scan isn't for a week so it may be a long one. Nausea seems to be barely showing itself at the moment which is very much unlike my first pregnancy which does, of course, worry me.

Anyway, I am going to try and stay positive - seems that there is little else to do.

Bubblebell1 · 01/07/2009 17:41

Hey all,

suzi im so sorry... sending you hugs and thinking of you xxx

girl im sending u all the sticky vibes possible.

how is everyone else?

So........... the clomid didnt work this month. progesterone level of 1 .

OP posts:
girlwithacurl · 02/07/2009 09:03

Thanks Girls, still getting a brown smear, but no fresh blood, and it seems to be subsiding... trying to stay positive.

bubble glad the GP hasn't taken away the clomid, but sorry it didn't work this month! fingers crossed for the next!!

wasabi i have no symptoms either, apart from tender (.)(.)... which come and go a bit. I know I should be pleased I don't have MS, but I kind of wish I did, would make it feel more real! hang on in there!!!
