Here we go a shiny new thread.....

OP posts:
4everhopeful · 03/07/2009 10:04

Ill check that out Neeko..Hey Annie* thanks for info on grapefruit juice, anniversary wishes & understanding of at MIL!! Glad to hear you are officially entering 'blooming phase'!x

Cupcake I saw that friends! Yes, not sure if we will make BFPs on this part 5, was hoping I would as it would be no5 for me & thought it would be a good sign! TBH the white coats thing made me nervous as altho we all don them occasionally they still conjur up bad images from countless hospital visits for me! Maybe next header could be 'sticky icky babydust BFP central'?

GracieGirl · 03/07/2009 10:04

I really shouldn't spend half an hour casually drafting my post whilst eating breakfast, I've cross posted with 12 posts!!

VJaybigpants · 03/07/2009 10:05

Just popping in to check on mollie and it's good news yey, and you've felt your bean yey again
I've not caught up properley will do later as I'm off shopping again before it gets too hot, but I did see some ice cream from curly, thankyou

OP posts:
Neeko · 03/07/2009 10:06

Good link Jools Blue The rain is stopping here so it's obviously heading for your flowers. What did you think of the end of Grey's? I googled it cos I needed to know what happened next and then was gutted!

cupcakefairy · 03/07/2009 10:09

Yay neeko I'm a big fan of Friends.. dh and I have been going through the whole lot as there are loads he hasn't seen...love it

I didn't bother with the grapefruit juice this month...if I don't get the BFP I may have to go back to it! Honestly, we'll try anything won't we!!

Gracie your GP never got you the week 9 scan then?

4everhopeful · 03/07/2009 10:13

Thanks for the GFJ info girls - and great link Jools!

P'd down last night & threatening again now!

My pg collegaue goes on mat leave today but also cos shes been v sweet & sensitive & lovely.. Maybe difficult seeing abundance of baby gifts unwrapped next to me tho The oth chavvy chain smoking one apparently goes on mat leave day after our wedding anniversary, got an envelope round for her collection, one of the guys in my team said 'what they buying her? 200 fags?!?' He's a funny dude!

Neeko · 03/07/2009 10:14

Lovely and busy on here today
I'm off now though to try to encourage dd to put some clothes on. After initially hating the lack of nappy she is truly embracing feeling the morning air!
Have a good one.
DH is prising himself away from work to take me to dinner at the hotel where we had our wedding reception (anniversary on Monday so double celebration) so probably wont be on for a wee while. Someone please text me if there are any surprise BFP/twin announcements

GracieGirl · 03/07/2009 10:20

I even managed to cross post with 4ever whilst apologising for cross posting, we are a talkative bunch this morning!

MLS thinking of you.

Happy birthday cake shopping Neeko! Have a lovely anniversary and birthday!

Cupcake no not getting a GP scan at 9 weeks. I asked the midwife about it and she said the EPAU would just ignore the request form as its not policy to do reassurance scans.

anniebigpants · 03/07/2009 10:36

Hi gracie, how are you doing? Hope you managing to get some sleep during the night now. When do you go back to work?

4everhopeful · 03/07/2009 10:37

Ah Happy Anniversary to you too Neeko your the day before us! How many years for you? Cant believe its 2yrs for us already!

hopingalways · 03/07/2009 12:30

wow it sounds like we've got a lot of good stuff on the horizon! birthdays (I nearly typed BDs, my usual shorthand, which is totally different here!), anniversaries, and not to mention so many of of you have had good baby news over the last week or so. yay!

mollie great to hear your news!

4everhopeful · 03/07/2009 12:45

Hey Hoping funnily enough I got those leaflets from MA a little while ago! Still not sure re caffiene though as both consultants advised against it for me, and wierdly, although a major chocoholic normally in every preg I go right off it!

Just a quick post, feeling a bit strange cos girl sitting next to me got all her baby gifts as she goes on mat leave today, she got loads of sweet newborn stuff, changing mats, albums, baby 1st yr stuff, about 10 parcels! Our office (about 50 on our floor)gathers round peoples desks for gift presentations so I was sitting next to her with a big fixed smile, then a girl who knows my situation gave a knowing look & I felt it hard not too buckle, but I didnt, Im truly happy for her, but Im sad for me. Iv longed for that to be me getting gifts & waddling wound work, but if/when it ever happens everyone iv worked with for last 13yrs will be redundant & ill be commuting to west end

bluesatinsash · 03/07/2009 12:55

Hey Hoping - yes mad and rambly but in a good way . You know that is so true re: ms = bleugh to tea/coffe which ties in with ms = higher chance of successful pg which then could be coffee = no link to mc! Just think us mc sufferers rule out anything that may cause it to happen again.

Neeko - watching Grey's tonight!!!! Has been pushed of schedule due to tennis but Friday is my Grey's night no excuses not even if Andy Murray's still on court . DS has been naked most of the week, waving his willie about and loving it! We had play date with his wee friend Olivia yesterday and was so to see them running round the garden naked as the day they were born! Have a fantastic birthday and anniversary x

Also love Friends and can tell you which series from a mere 1 second clip . They're currently re-running first series on E4 for the 145 time, lots of big hair and it was the 90s not 80s so no excuse .

Gracie - I think that's appalling that you can't get a scan, it should be a given for anyone who's had a mc .

4ever - had a at your colleague's comments on the fag ash pg 'lady' - ho hum. Glad your windows are in and not long til your anniversary, how exciting! As for your MIL though - note to her - engage brain before opening gob.

Jools - break a leg tonight

Ah well, sandwich eaten, back to work x

bluesatinsash · 03/07/2009 13:06

Sorry 4ever x-post. Well done you for geting through the present giving, you have had to put up with so much at your work with all the pg ladies and comments, its just rubbish. It will be your turn one day and you won't mind if you have 20 or 2 colleagues sending you off as you will be having a baby and nothing else will matter .

hopingalways · 03/07/2009 13:25

just adding to rambly post - taken my white coat around internet looking at medical journals on baby aspirin...conclusion to all studies is that baby aspirin can't harm and might help

baby aspirin is cutting edge RMC research right now!

oh and same studies all showed that in the baby asprin and the control groups between 70% and 85% of subsequent pgs in women with RCM led to healthy babies!

4everhopeful · 03/07/2009 13:46

Thanks Bluesatin just hope the day does come for us.

Yea Hoping as I said, my consultant put me on aspirin last year.

At least I now know gfj helps ewcm cos been feeding it to dh, obviously no need!

Must stop rambling in my posts too cos Im sure I must bore people a bit & are tempted to skip my long posts, but if I cant do it here I dont know where I can do it.. Im feeling pretty shit & just want to go & hide under my duvet for the rest of my
life the weekend...

Hope you all have a good one. Prob wont be around much til mid of next week so wont be filling up the site for the rest of you!

mermaidspurse · 03/07/2009 14:19

hoping Its nice to see you on a bit of a mission, I think it helps not to feel helpless somehow. Thank you for posting that link on coffee and chocolate. now that is bizarre really cos chocolate has caffeine in it as well. When I was pregnant with ds I had awful ms and went off coffee, I bled and lost horrific clots and got rushed off to epu. I remember being sick in the hospital car park on the way in cos they said don't eat, you can guess what they were expecting Anyway I just knew it was ok, I was just so pregnant, so sick I can remember joking about having a fry up to the scan man and him looking all grave saying lets just hold our horses and of course there was my little bean waving back at us Ha and you thought you had rambled anyhoo my point being I coudn't stand the smell of coffee. with all subsequent preg. no sickness and drank my usual 3 coffees or so so there you go.

phew,
4ever Please on your way home pick yourself up some lovely takeaway, nice drink and something sparkly from the sparkly shop just for you cos honey you have had another **$& week. A shiny gold emmsys star for being so unbelievably brave during the baby gifts.
Have a good weekend.xxx

This post is so you don't ever feel bad about rambling

mermaidspurse · 03/07/2009 14:20

oh stupid brain - mls hope you are ok.xxxxxx

bluesatinsash · 03/07/2009 16:14

Mermaid you always know the right thing to say and I hope 4ever is in a sparkly shop as we speak. You both have been through so much, I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must be to go through four miscarriages and remain positive and forward planning - I admire you both so much and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

Didn't know you had such a scary experience with your DS - you must have left that scan room on top of the world (well until the anxiety set in again.. as it always does after early scans are OK)..

'tis raining here which will hopefully blow the pollen away

MummyLovesSadie · 03/07/2009 17:40

Hello ladies, you've been a busy bunch today. Must be quick as preparing for the Scottish invasion!

Just wanted to add my congrats to Mollie & Barbie, very pleased for you both (even if saying inside 'why couldn't it have been me too?')

Had my scan today & am booked in for an erpc next Thursday. Had the best doctor in the whole world who I just wanted to hug. 4ever was going to pick your brain re progesterone supplements as it was something I was thinking about before I got pregnant the last time but now I don't need to. My lovely epu doctor said that as soon as I'm pregnant again to give her a call & she will prescribe progesterone & aspirin as although the benefit can't be proven, there are no side effects & it is definitely worth trying. She also said she would scan me at 7 weeks. She also gave me strong painkillers in case things start happening before next Thursday. There was a young girl there who had obviously just been given bad news who was absolutely beside herself with grief & I just wanted to hug her & pass on Emmy's Angels details.

to everyone, sorry I can't post in more detail but rushing around like a mad thing.

VJaybigpants · 03/07/2009 18:05

mls your doctor does sound lovely and totally clued up, especially giving you that reassurance scan as and when needed, that's just fab.

4ever I hope you are wearing something sparkly, drinking something sparkly and eating a lovely takeaway

mermaid you are so wise

blue please please please send that rain up here, I am sooo hot and sweaty, it aint attractive

barbie hope your journey home has gone well and you and dh are enjoying yourself.

hoping and 4ever I love your rambly posts, keep them coming

OP posts:
GracieGirl · 03/07/2009 18:25

4ever, mermaid and Hoping don't stop the rambling posts, i read every word!

MLS I'm really pleased you got a nice doctor, it makes all the difference doesn't it. It great that your doc will be looking after you next time you get pregnant.

hoping Chocolate every day reduces risk of miscarriage????!!! Well I don't take much convincing! What about chocolate mini milks?? I'm sure they'd be better!

Well done 4ever for holding it together through your work colleagues baby gifts opening.

Poor vjay, its far too hot for very pregnant people.

VJaybigpants · 03/07/2009 18:48

hi gracie I think chocolate mini milks are a fab idea, I've eated loads of them so it must work

OP posts:
hopingalways · 03/07/2009 19:39

right ladies, emailed the pattern off for any knitters out there (though by the looks of it any group knitting event may lead to emmsys graduate dishcloths )

BlueMoon1981 · 03/07/2009 19:58

mermaid haha i had forgotton about pom poms, omg i made thousands of the bloody things, and just what do you do with them once you've made them?!

hoping yes if we do any group knitting marathons i can only offer holey dishcloths but its the taking part that counts right?! good job i'm not knitting hats or booties, you'd have toes sticking out all over the place and hats that are no use whatsoever!

i am interested about all this asprin talk, its something i had not heard of before and will definitely consider it if/when i next get pg.

after my ranting over the last few days someone at work nearly made me cry in a good way today and i have realised that not all people are horrible! my assistant brought in a load of jewellery she had made herself, she was just giving ideas to a colleague who wanted some handmade stuff making for her. i was having a look and complimenting her on her handywork and admired one piece in particular. when home time came, she pushed this lovely necklace that i had been admiring into my hand and said id like you to have this. i had to bite my lip not to cry. and she doesnt know why i was off work or what happened, i suddenly felt bad that i dont have the guts to tell her. she is a lovely lovely person anyway but she made my day today
