Here we go a shiny new thread.....

OP posts:
mm1509 · 02/07/2009 21:53

mollie so glad to hear from you and the scan went well. What a wonderful moment when you first feel your baby moving, it's very reassuring, enjoy.

anniebigpants · 02/07/2009 22:15

Evening ladies. Hope you all well.

So glad to hear the scans went wellBarbie and Mollie Mermaid-im taking aspirin too, 75mg aspirin, known as low dose or baby aspirin, i started taking it the day i got my BFP, and out of the five pregnancies ive had, this has been the only pregnancy i havent had any spotting, could be coincidental, but who knows?

VJay-Glad babba is in right position, lets hope he stays that way for next 8 weeks or so.

Hoping-I would love one of your emmsys hats, how kind of you. As others of said, make sure you keep some wool for knitting your own babbas hat

Love to all, off to sleep in a minute, im off work for 17 days now, yeyy!!

bakingqueen · 02/07/2009 22:27

So pleased to hear your scan went well Mollie how lovely that you can feel your bean moving x

bakingqueen · 02/07/2009 22:40

Forgot to say very unterested in the baby asprin theory to prevent mc think I might give it a go next time I get a bfp! Loving the challenge of a bfp before this thread ends not sure I will make it before the end with all this chatting! On day 10 should be doing the every other bd but this hot weather has put a stop to that due to rain tomorrow and temp to drop so could maybe start some serious bd after that! Trying to be more relaxed this month after getting so upset about bfn but that could all change in the 2ww!

Curlywurlee · 02/07/2009 22:56

A big forehead wiping PHEW for you Mollie I have been updating the wrong page and worrying about where you are and how things went. I finally realised that I wasn't on the last page of the thread!! I am so delighted for you. Make sure you are thoroughly spoilt over the next few weeks

Fantastic news barbie and don't worry about being seven weeks. I was that six days ago and I ovulated day 13 or something so you should be a bit behind. Also the sonographer said to me that it's really hard to date at this stage which is why they wait till 11 weeks at least. The progress is the important part Hey welcome back to the UK!!!

MLS how are you doing honey? what time is the appointment tomorrow? I'm so glad the dh formerly known as arseface has been so lovely. Big hugs to you xxx

cupcake I miss you too. Sorry I missed your partee but I'll definitely come to the next one!! Fingers crossed for you this month. When are you testing? we need those bfps!!

Neeko lol at your potty training My friend tried bribery with a smartie for every successful em "output" but quickly realised that her little girl was holding most of it in each time and going to the loo up to 60 times a day to maximise her smarties

moon I know how you feel. We told friends of ours (a couple) about it as DH was worried that when we went away with them that they would start making stupid comments such as when are you guys going to have a baby etc? Anyway despite telling them to keep it to themselves, the stupid cow announced it at a dinner party to everyone there. I'm still so angry with her for using our grief as gossip, especially as we knew everyone there but hadn't told most of them It makes me so sad to think of you going through this now, it is such a hard time but it will get better honey xxx

jools Yay for operation seduction. Early is good, sorts out those stale ould swimmers - only the best for your eggs I got a few comments like yours from well meaning people. Like making me feel that the first one didn't count because it was 'only' 5 and a half weeks, or telling me that I should avoid stress next time, as if I had lost my babies because I have a stressful job, and that was something I should have managed better. Anyway, they can take it all back when you're up the duff and proving them wrong

hoping that's rubbish, sorry about the job and about AF. Things have got to start looking up for you soon honey xxx You really are such a sweetheart. I would love an emmsys graduate hat but maybe later on when things are a bit more bigpantish and certain

mermaid international woman of mystery, nosey curly just googled you . What a fab business, totally didn't understand it but lets just say my brother would probably fall madly in love with you I tried to get referred to St Marys for my last pregnancy as it's very handy for Greenwich. They are really well respected for both pregnancy and MC research. If you do get an appointment there, you are more than welcome to stay here for your visit. I love showing off our newly done up spare room anyway

vjay and annie i don't know how you are coping with this heat. I'm sending you some icecream to cool you down. Yay for extra school funds for your lovely little boy Vjay Enjoy your time off Annie

4ever what a cow you are working with I'm tempted to come over and give her a wallop, though that might look a bit OTT seeing as she's pregnant. Ignore her, it will be you soon I won't be able to lurk till tomorrow evening but I'll keep you posted on any news then.

Sabs lovely to see you, how are things going at work? I'm dealing with someone pretty horrible myself at the moment who tries to undermine me at every opportunity. I told my boss I was considering putting a complaint in against this guy for bullying which he seemed to take seriously enough... till he disappeared off to the pub after work with this same person. Grrrr

kate your loved up post brought a tear to my eye It's nice to see you posting again. We missed you

gracie when I was googling for you and saw people with similar symptoms to yours, it was in the early days and I think went after 8 or 9 weeks. This is great . I'm getting another scan on the 17th which is two weeks away. I know it means going for another private scan but do you wanna be my scan buddy and get one too so that you feel more reassured?!!

mm i love your big pants. Thanks for the advice re MS. The doctor has offered drugs but I'm trying to hold out for a while. I just worry about impact on the baby which is silly because my sister tried a number of different ones and had to have drugs right throughout her pregnancy and my gorgeous little nephew is perfect! Hey it's lovely to hear from you. I still smile when I think of you being pregnant, knowing how hard things have been before

blue I just got your email address from gracie, YAYYY I love this sharing details business, none of us are ever without news for too long.

baking there were months that we didn't even bd at the right time but i would still be gutted getting that BFN. The 2ww is really hard but hopefully we'll have lots of good news this month, including a BFP from you

I'm pooped but it's nice to catch up with you lovely ladies. Big hello to lion iggy ginger and scorpio

Curlywurlee · 02/07/2009 22:58

Have I won a prize for the longest post ever?

BlueMoon1981 · 02/07/2009 23:40

wow curly i am very impressed with your post, it must have taken you hours!

have been giggling out loud at maximising smarties - they are not stupid at all are they?!

hope all is well with you and your bean

Curlywurlee · 03/07/2009 00:04

Thanks Moon it literally did take hours knackered now, I'm off to bed. take care honey xxx

mermaidspurse · 03/07/2009 07:45

Mollie first thing I thought of when I woke up was you, even logged on before my coffee had brewed - so very exited and pleased

mls so hoping that you are ok and sending out healing thoughts and hugs.xxx

curly I so always love your posts sorry you are still feeling sick, I hope you are taking it as easy as you can. Thans also for the offer of your spare room dear of you We are letting the idea of st marys drift around.
And why do people have to behave that way? Bullying in the office must be awful. Mind you just wait ill you get to the school gate! you aint seen nothing yet

Moon classic! I inherited all the dishclothes back a few years ago Now did you make pom-poms too?

bakingqueen am going to cross everything for you this month go go go.

annie nice to see you lovely lady and so pleased you are ok you have sealed the deal I am going to go buy some asprin today.

vjay also just reminded to say omg its getting close get buying that raspberry tea soon. and thank goodness for your ds funding, that must be a relief and another stress taken away. Hope the studying is ok and your back is holding upxx

Its already really hot here, going to be naother scorcher big pants keep cool and eat lots of ice cream.x littlepants get that rose in the fridgex

4everhopeful · 03/07/2009 08:36

Morning Mermaid! Was just catching up.. I also was advised take 75mg aspirin by my golfer in last preg, even tho no sticky blood syndrome or any oth cause found at that point. Also advised progestorone supps. I stopped taking it after mc, but have actually been taking it again for the last month whilst ttc, & also cos of heavy AF. Ive heard midwives in delivery suites apparently saying 'oh another aspirin baby?!' So go get em! St Marys is one pf leading MC research and specialist units, recently refurb'd as Save the baby unit. The website made me cry when I researched a few months ago. Trials always good... Thanks for yesterday as well hon.. x

Ditto re the aspirin to you MLS.. Like I said my natural mc was agony & have opted for erpc every time since so if im right in thinking you have docs today try & push for that, or at least a scan to know where you are at.. xx

Barbie soooooooooooooo pleased for you honey! So relieved & was thinking about you all morning.. Now you should be back here in the uk with your tanker of festival equipment

Mollie was on tenterhooks for you too honey & was thinking about you on drive into work! Yay!

Also good news from Mm! thats what we like - keep it coming!

Sorry ms is hitting you hard Curly (but not really sorry cos good healthy sign!)

Thank you for yesterday too Gracie that number exchange really was a great plan! Hope you are getting a bit more sleep & pain is slowly easing off?

Nice to hear from Bluemoon - hope the rollercoaster isnt too bumpy.. x

Go Jools & Bakinqueen on a mission! Im right behind you girls!

Neeko Cupcake, Kate & Mermaid hope the 2ww not tooooooooooo long & drawn out!

Hoping ditto on all points hon!

Big panters! Nice to hear from Vjay Sabs & Annie all in one day! Hope the heat not too awful for you!

Right - know Ive still missed a few of you lovelies so hugs & waves to you xxx

Well, mammoth catch up! My news is windows are done - yay! Will wallpaper over replastered bits on sat & reclaim our bedroom ready for OV & 2yr wedding anniversary on tues! I got AF day after wedding day which turned out (as Curlys mantra) to be 1st day of preg, yet 2 yrs & 3more pg later still nothing so hope to end the cycle to the day if poss.. MIL back from 2w hol & pho being v negative & 'sad & angry for us not managing to get pg this month' its nothing us lot dont say & feel, but she's talking of friends buying prams for grandchildren & thinking 'that should be me', & various other comments & that she has cut out an article on how to get pregnant & we should do it every day, I explained yes, I am shagging your son every day (great conversation with MIL ) & thanks to you girls, know nearly every tip in the book! Its just when trying to be positive you dont need people bringing you down. huff. Anyway nuff bout that. Im on day 10 & am duly POAS, eating brazil nuts, taking aspirin & sanatogen 'mother to be' (they changed the name & i took it as a sign, been on em 2&half yrs now tho ) & glugging grapefruit juice, which I love... Now please remind me, what grapefruit juice do again?!?

Joolsiam · 03/07/2009 09:16

Good morning to our marathon posters Curly and 4Ever Love the smarties story - that is one clever girlie

Mission seduction steps up a gear tonight - wish me luck girls I'm going to be extraordinarily disappointed if AF arrives after successful BD - thus far, I seem to be one of those really really annoying people that manages to get PG immediately IF I can actually get DP to perform at the right time.

I've worked out that, if AF doesn't arrive, I'll be testing at pretty much the same time as I got my first BFP a year ago - is that a sign

Joolsiam · 03/07/2009 09:18

Oh, and hooray for windows being sorted and reclaiming your bedroom 4Ever

mermaidspurse · 03/07/2009 09:30

4ever at the thought of mil telling you how to make babies - and all very hard for you. Did your consultant golfer get back to you? thank goodness the windows are done and you can get back to normal so its go go go for you too

jools lets just keep hidden from your dh that we are all standing on the side lines chanting go go go like cheerleaders think that would be enough to put any man right off his stroke!

mls thinking of you this morningxxxxxxx

Neeko · 03/07/2009 09:32

Yaaay Mollie Great news! So pleased for you especially as you're feeling the lo move. Very reassuring. I have to confess that when I was quite far on I used to put a warm cup on my bump to make my DD kick me if i hadn't felt her for a while!

Curly great to hear you sounding so cheery. Well done on the long post. Hope the ms dies down soon. Definitely not starting the smartie idea now!

MLS You're in my thoughts (as usual) Hope you make some progress today. Big hug to you.

Barbie Welcome home!!!! Are either you or Mollie able to post a scanpic for us to oooh over or is it too early for all that?

4ever Glad house is getting sorted. Ignore MIL - she has to wait her turn to be annoyed about you not having a BFP yet. there's a queue you know! I haven't ovulated yet so not on 2ww. maybe you and I will get a testing party together?

Raining here and blessedly a little cooler. Going shopping later for my own birthday cake as DH started a promoted post this week and is working so hard. It's my birthday tomorrow but my mum is hijacking the day for her 60th party. Her birthday is Sunday (She says I was the best birthday presesnt ever ) Hope you all have a great day and find something to smile about.

Neeko · 03/07/2009 09:37

4ever there's a thread in conception where someoe is looking for info for SIL on recurrent miscarriage. Maybe you could post what you're trying? I don't think the world at large has any idea of your type of situation. I'd do it myself but I'm worried about passing on the wrong info.

anniebigpants · 03/07/2009 09:45

Morning all, a bit cooler here today thankfully.

Jools-Well done on mission seduction. It is indeed a sign, that if your AF doesnt arrive , you will be testing around the same time as anniversary of first BFP.

4ever-Yay for your windows being completed and for 2nd Anniversary on Tuesday. Am very at the comments your MIL made though, there really is no need, she knows the heartache you and DH have been through, and she is just being selfish and thinking of herself!! She says she sees her friends buying prams and she feels she should be doing the same-well does she not stop to think how you are feeling?? Grrr on your behalf at your MIL.
By the way, the grapefruit juice is supposed to increase EWCM.

mermaid-Yes my lovely, i cant recommend aspirin highly enough. I was talking to one of my patients at work who is now 37 weeks and blooming, but previously had 4 mc. all her and her DH tests had come back clear, no known cause for her mc,s. Her consultant said she didn't have 'sticky blood' but to take aspirin when she next got her BFP, she did and now has 3 weeks to meet her LO. We both agreed that all ladies who have had a mc should be encouraged to try low dose aspirin for their next pregnancy.

moon-hope you doing okay hun.

DS is driving me crazy (in a a nice way) he has learned to put on and take his clothes off by himself, cue him getting changed about ten times a day!
Bump is getting bigger now, im coming up to 19 weeks now and feel great, lower back still giving me gip occasionally, but i can live with that

anniebigpants · 03/07/2009 09:49

Happy birthday for tomorrow Neeko. Bless your mum for saying you were her best birthday present, i bet you were as well

cupcakefairy · 03/07/2009 09:50

Morning lovely ladies
Your posts have all been making me laugh so much - especially you curly with your threats to wallop pregnant woman in 4ever's office and moon with your 'filling big pants' comment

mollie soooo lovely you are feeling lo move around- yay! Glad yesterday went well.

4ever how annoying of your MIL...but loved what you said about how you're shagging her son every day, haha! Reminds me of that Friends episode when Phoebe tells Mike's mum that he can 'rattle a headboard like a sailor on leave!' This will be your month!

I don't think this thread will last long enough for BFPs...I'm not going to be testing for about another 9 days... unless babyinacorner, ginger or sophable reappear with some good news??

4everhopeful · 03/07/2009 09:52

Happy Birthday for tomorrow Neeko!!! (& to mum too!) So many July birthdays! Def like to join you for testing party in 2w then hon! Isnt MLS tomorrow too? Funny isnt it, if you girls said any of what MIL said id take it as empathy, with her I take it as an undercover dig.. Sure its not tho, she has often said im her fave girl out of her 4 boys partners..

Good luck to Jools in military attack, I used to be same, PG no prob (4x 16m! ) Now we're on a time limit diff story, but as 2ys coming up since 1st pg & 1yr for you, hopefully it will be agood omen?!

Mermaid i e-mailed my golfer & unlike my NHS darts player who just ignores my queries , my private golfer took the trouble to reply by letter to each point last time, tho took a couple of weeks, so am just watching the postbox (metaphorically as I dont have superman vision to see my house from work!!!) Yea MIL invoked from me yesterday. All I wanted to know was how her hol was!

Im so tired! Had about 3hrs sleep, in bed near midnight (normally 10ish), neighbours friend in garden having row with mrs on pho til 1ish, then house pho batt beeping loudly so had to get up & put on charge, an hr later heavens open & all windows open so run round shutting them & mopping windowsills/walls, then alarm off at 5.25am! YAWN! Half day for me then!

BTW you all prob stop reading my mammoth scrawlings half way, so can anyone answer, what is grapefruit juices purpose again?

Neeko · 03/07/2009 09:59

Oops. Meant to answer that. Grapefruit encourages production of EWCM. can't hurt!

Thanks for the birthday wishes

bluesatinsash · 03/07/2009 09:59

Just a quickie as going into meeting...

Fantastic news Mollie - been thinking about you all night/morning

4ever - grapefruit juice increases EWCM -the stuff that helps the swimmers rach the egg!

Joolsiam · 03/07/2009 09:59

GFJ is supposed to increase the volume and quality of cervical mucus, so you have more EWCM to sustain those swimmers

Drinking lots of water also has a positive effect

To be honest, I'm not sure how much effect it really does have - my last BFP was when I was on the Cambridge Diet, so no GFJ but 2 litres of water per day. I haven't yet gone back to the stuff, but am still drinking loads of water.

Lots of info here - it also mentions evening primrose oil and robitussin cough mixture to add to everything else we are doing !

bluesatinsash · 03/07/2009 10:02

Happy Birthday for tomorrow Neeko!! Its still scorching over here in central belt, wonder if your rain is en route? My flowers could do with a soak .

Neeko · 03/07/2009 10:02

Cupcake Morning! I loved Friends too.I have them all on video/dvd. Your comment made me laugh. Will now need to dig out that episode.

annie Glad to hear you're blooming Hope DS doesn't want you to wash and iron all those clothes!

GracieGirl · 03/07/2009 10:02

Curly Thats an impressive post! I'm giving it some thought about being your scan buddy, though would need to find a day when DH was off work cos I'm not going without him. My NHS dating scan is the 24th July, that's 21 sleeps away which is quite a long time, but my original plan was to try and wait that long.

Curly and Moon I know what you mean about people discussing your MC at inappropriate times. That 90th birthday party I was at a few weeks ago. I'm giving her a bit of slack cos she's 90 and she was also drunk, but she announced that I'd lost a baby loudly to a whole room packed with about 30 people, then followed that comment with "its because she works too hard"! Great, Thanks, make it my fault why not!

Hoping I'm with Curly I'd love an Emmsys hat once things are a bit more big pant like.

Mermaid yay I did lots of Pom poms! Not much good at knitting at all. My Granny used to cast on and off for me and unpick it whilst I was asleep to get rid of the holes!

4ever sorry I didn't text again about Mollie but it was quite late by then and I wasn't sure whether you'd still be up. I'm really pleased your windows are sorted. Boo hiss at your MIL's unhelpful comments! Ovulation and 2nd wedding anniversary - must be a sign!

jools good luck with operation seduction!
