Here we go a shiny new thread.....

MummyLovesSadie · 02/07/2009 10:47

Shit, I forgot I'd have to start drinking that godawful grapefruit juice again. I don't drink tea or coffee so I'm ok on that front & after the last mc I started drinking caffeine-free diet coke. It feels like everything we do from the vitamins we take to what we drink is all geared towards getting pregnant & then not losing the baby.

MummyLovesSadie · 02/07/2009 10:51

Mollie I think you & Blue are converting all of us non-aspirin takers.

Hoping fantastic idea for Emmsy's hats.

VJaybigpants · 02/07/2009 11:03

Hi, just popped in to see how barbie and mollie are.
mls you made me chuckle finding my thread. I did ask my gp at the time about aspirin, so she did a blood coagulation test and all was fine so I didn't need to take it.
sabs beat me to your lovely booties hoping, I shall need to be quicker next time

Just seen the mw, baby is head down and all is fine, so I'm off to put my feet up, this heat is doing me in

OP posts:
GracieGirl · 02/07/2009 11:10

Vjay i bet this heat is driving you mad. Really pleased to hear the midwife says everything is ok.

No news from Barbie yet?

Mollie is your scan later this afternoon?

MLS urgh - grapefruit juice is nasty!

Hoping Loving the idea of Emmsys graduate hats and bootees.

GracieGirl · 02/07/2009 11:13

Just about to go out for a walk with MrsKate and Dolly the Collie. If there's any news from Barbie will someone text me?

Neeko I've just had 2 nights with no pain at all. I don't know whether to be relieved or scared as last time a major symptom disappeared it wasn't good news. Trying to ignore the nagging doubt and be relieved that I've actually had some sleep.

Joolsiam · 02/07/2009 11:14

Drum Roll ..........

Message from Barbie

"Normal scan. 7 weeks and heart heartbeat ! "

SabsBigPants · 02/07/2009 11:32

thats fantastice news!

cupcakefairy · 02/07/2009 11:33

Wow you girls have been chatty overnight! I went out to see the very lovely Christian Bale and Johnny Depp last night...swoon!

Yaaaaaaayyy Barbie!! So SO pleased for you Really hope you can totally relax and enjoy your time back in the UK now

Vjay great news about baby being in the right position

mermaid thinking of you today seeing your golfer... hope it's productive. I'm not as jangly as I was the other day...today is more of a floaty headscarf day so I feel quite bohemian!

hoping I also LOVE the idea of you knitting away lots of little booties! So cute. I did learn to knit once but it was at snail's pace! Sorry af got you and you won't be my testing buddy next month is the one.

neeko I am desperately trying not to symptom spot, even though I have been waking up v early which I never usually do - I'm putting it down to the heat for now! (But if I'm honest with myself, I'll be totally gutted if we didn't make a holiday baby )
DH was so sweet, he went to a health food shop yesterday and got me more brazil nuts, and a variety of different herbal teas so I can keep cutting down my caffeine intake

MLS glad you are coping ok and that dh is home with you this afternoon (and no longer being an arseface )

Gracie yay for sleep!

Mollie here's another hand for you to hold!

Curly staaaaay! I miss you...

Moon sorry you're finding things particularly tough at the mo - boo to insensitive people!

Hi bakingqueen sorry about the tonsilitis...did you not go to Take That then??

Ok I'll stop before this becomes a mammoth post again!

Hi girls finally feel confident enough to update the list and put on some big pants.........those medium ones were getting too tight tbh. Got another scan yesterday and all looks good, lo was moving and wriggling about like mad. It's amazing the difference two weeks makes, we could make everything out this time. Now have started to feel like this is really happening this time and I am soooo excited.

barbie know you can't read this just now but got your text and fantastic news, I knew it would all be good.

MLS haven't posted on here yet but you sound like you are very brave and coping as well as you can, you go and insist on an ERPC if that's what you choose. I had two ERPCs and at least after them I felt I could begin to move on physically. Love your TTC list.

vjay your in the home straight now girl, can imagine how you are feeling in the heat, I am bad enough just now and I am only 13 weeks.

hoping loving the idea of the hat and booties, what a lovely thought.

mollie thinking about you today but I am confident everything will be fine, it doesn't take much to take us back a few steps. Will be checking to see how you get on.

curly oh I am know how you feel hun with the sickness, it might be an idea to ask your GP for some anti-sickness meds, it took three attempts before they found one that would work for me but it has gave me some form of life back. Mine is gradually easing off now and I am reducing the meds but it really did make such a difference.

blue need to catch up on fb, I think a meetup to compare bumps will be on the cards in the coming months, don't you think. Hope you are good.

gracie glad you have had two nights sleep with no pain, you deserve it, try not too worry too much about symptoms easing off for a couple of days, just catch up on your rest while you get the chance hun.

sabs lovely chatting to you on fb the other night.

Need to go DD is nagging me to go to the park...........oh the thought it's just too hot, going to grin and bear it I guess, feel an ice-cream moment (or two) coming on. Big waves to jools, 4ever mermaid, annie, neeko, kate, iggy, cupcake, baking, moon, lion and anyone I have missed. Take care ladies xxx

mermaidspurse · 02/07/2009 12:05

yehayyyeeeeee just got back to see the good news for barbie bean and dh.xxxx

ok girls this is what my golfer has said on the asprin
as we all know loads of studies have been done he thinks give it a go it can't do any harm. I questioned that I did not have sticky blood but he still said to try. a big part of me thinks he may have been trying to get rid of loon in his office but there you are. so he said 75 would that be ml? or whatever a tablet is, and guessing that baby asprin.
He was very lovely actually, and it has all upset me a bit, horrid how it all sneaks back in. It was young pregnant girl morning god were they young I am talking 14 So by the time I get into the golfers office i am positivley clutching a zimmer and an incontency pad!

They have offered that I can go to St Marys in London..... he said I was not to worry about wasting nhs money (cos I do, have a ds etc) and that they get masses of research grants. He was not hopeful that they would find anything else..... but the research might benefit other women etc etc.
So there we have it 4 mc and no answers, appart from No.4 had tresomy7 of course. He said that with tresomy 7 from day one it was doomed that no amount of coffee, a sip of wine, lifting heavy things, too hot, cold, stand on crack of pavement walk under a ladder nothing could have changed or prevented it. so I guess i feel a little better for that.
Has anyone been to St Marys? Its a bloody long way to go

So I get back out and the nurse just gave me this huge bear hug, it was very touching actually which soon lost its rosey glow as I fought my way back through the smoking pregnant teenagers and their mothers very outside

Have to do some work all behind so love to all.xx

mermaidspurse · 02/07/2009 12:10

mmbigpants we all needed such good news really pleased for you.xx
It is raining and stormy here enjoy the park.

Joolsiam · 02/07/2009 12:11

But did you ask him about his golf handicap ?

I am sure it is reassuring to know that nothing you did could have prevented what happened.

As for St Marys - I never even bothered opting for it as there were no appointments available on choose and book - perhaps they reserve appointments for more in depth research, rather than initial investigations.

From reading threads on here, it sounds like one of the top places to go and if you do come up, I will happily nip down to London f you want (am only 20 mins away) to say hi / help with LO / guide you through the tube network

SabsBigPants · 02/07/2009 12:13

mm and vjay happy to hear your lo's are doing well too!

Joolsiam · 02/07/2009 12:15

Yes, congrats on the big pants MM I'd been wondering where you'd got to

Interesting re aspirin - I've also been told that it could potentially do harm, ie make you bleed out quicker if you do have a bleed and didn't have a clotting disorder ?

mermaidspurse · 02/07/2009 12:20

jools I am such a country bumkin. Last time I lived in London they had handcarts and chestnut stalls I hope operation black basque is going smoothly by the way. I will have to think about 'indepth research' maybe if I book it the rule of pregnancy will happen.
I love the look of mm new name it kindda reads mmmmmmbigpants, I'm using the cadburys caramel bunny voice/ m&s lady voiceover!

Joolsiam · 02/07/2009 12:24

I gave him the night off last night May go and meet him in the pub after work though - every other night is the way to go isn't it

It may actually still be too early - I ov'ed on CD16 last cycle

hopingalways · 02/07/2009 12:31

woo hoo barbie!

verdict seems to be in, will start the pattern drafting for the graduate knits!

umm ladies, question for you about AF after MC...AF has just turned out to be yet more spotting (well, brown CM to be honest), and AF not really due for another week. is this normal? is this AF just being cow and toying with me before she shows up?

Since I came off the pill I've either been pg or mcing so much I genuinely can't remember what's normal...

I also don't want to start thinking it's implantation bleeding or anything, only to be disappointed again

cupcakefairy · 02/07/2009 12:53

hoping I did think it was a little early for you to be getting AF.
It could be a number of things, including implantation bleed...
It could also be breakthrough bleeding which is quite common after miscarriage (and how neeko ended up with her strange cycle reputation!) I would leave it a week and if no further developments, test!

mermaid that made me all about the nurse giving you a bear hug! Bless!

mm yippeee!! More big pants! I love seeing that list grow; totally gives us all hope. Now we definitely need more medium-panters. Let's hope Iggy is getting lots of holiday bd

Molliemooma · 02/07/2009 13:54

Barbie Fantastic news

My scan is at 3.40pm so will be back to catch up properly when I'm not at work

GracieGirl · 02/07/2009 13:55

Woo hoo Barbie! thats brilliant news!! Enjoy your holiday in the UK, have a safe journey.

MMBigpants well done for swapping to Big Pants! I heard from *Scorpio today. She's 15 weeks now, everything is going well and she's due on Christmas Day.

Cupcake bless your DH for going out to buy you brazil nuts and herbal teas.

Hoping I think Cupcake is right, random spotting is pretty normal in the first cycle after miscarriage. If in doubt test next week.

Mermaid the aspirin you are looking for is 75mg. The 300mg tablet is for pain relief.

mermaidspurse · 02/07/2009 14:08

gracie cheers you are the tops
mollie good luck.xxx

barbie1 · 02/07/2009 14:10

hi girls!

Im rushing to pack as i still havent finished wanted to wish mollie good luck...

Thankyou jools for updating for me and the lovely text you sent!

I have a tummy scan, was a bit but she found the bean right away and she let me listen the the heartbeat!! im measuring 6 plus 5 so freaked a bit as i thought i was further on etc...the doctor (who i hadnt booked to see) took pity on me being a crying mess and let me have 10 mins of her time to reassure me. She said i couldnt class the i hour bleed on the 6h may as an af....and that because i got the bfp late my date were no good to me at all.....she is more than happy as things as progressed as much as they should of each time i have been in. She did also say that a tv scan is better for dating but as there was a clear picture and the heart beat was strong she didnt feel the need to do one.....

I cried so much i cant beleive the poor scanner lady got a good enough picture as my belly wobbled up and down!

Right ill catch up tomorrow once safely back in the uk...

jools can you do me one last favour sweetie? can you test me mollies news? as i wont be back here for 24 hours...ta very much, ill buy you a orange juice when i meet you in london one day (no wine as you will be preggers!!!)
