hi - sorry haven't been around much (again!) - just wanted to say that I'm thinking of you jools - hope your gp can get you a scan and that everything is ok.

hi to everyone else

Joolsiam · 23/04/2009 10:34

Thankyou Jardins - and I was so caught up in myself yesterday, I forgot to say welcome from another spring chicken I will be 40 in Nov and haven't yet had any children ..

Have just told my boss why I either have to duck out of an 11am conference call early or not attend at all - couldn't get him on the phone so left him a voice mail that said "check your email" - I didn't want to tell him, but equally didn't want to be judged as lazy / underperforming after not doing anything so far this week

wasabipeanut · 23/04/2009 10:45

Jools I have eveything crossed that its all ok for you. Don't give up hope yet. Your GP sounds like she's being helpful which is something.

C1ndy - after my mc I got my first period exacly 30 days after the last bit of tissue was passed. Apparently this is the norm so that may help you with your ttc planning!

P1nky - have a lovely day out with your ds. Feel free to share if you have any news later!

Iggy - i know what you mean about the unknowingly upsetting comments. I remember when I was bleeding before the mc properly started in January and one of the mums at my ds's Tumbletots class asked me if I was planning to have anymore kids. It wasn't a happy moment for me. She was only being chatty and didn't know at all but I decided then that asking anyone if they are going to have kids/more kids is just not on.

Kitty - good luck on the appraisal. When I had a "proper" job (I must stop referring to it as that) I used to hate them too!

Nothing to report here really. Just entering the 2nd week of the 2WW.

kittycatcat · 23/04/2009 10:52

Thanks C1ndy
Yep started Monday. It's going ok, but not quite settled in yet, have been a few points over, but it's a start.

kittycatcat · 23/04/2009 10:54

Jardins you pass with a gold star - if i knew how to do them on here. lol.

Thanks Wasabi.

iggypiggy · 23/04/2009 11:13

Kitty am fine - just made me think, that's all.

Wasabi the worst thing is I clearly remember asking someone I know whether they wanted any kids - she said 'hopefully one day' then 6 months later I found out that she had just had an MC at 11 weeks after 6 years of ttc... felt v. v. bad... She likes to talk about her MC, which I used to find odd, but I can sort of understand now.

C1NDY · 23/04/2009 11:19

Wasabi as I am having a natural MC... I do have a spot of blood... every now and again... is that normal? with my first MC... I just had a normal AF and then it started again exactly 28 days later. Because I was further gone, will it take longer to settle down? should i see the doctor as perhaps a D&C may be required or should I just sit tight and wait for AF... If it is 30 days.. then it should arrive on Sunday or next week sometime - I do hope so.

wasabipeanut · 23/04/2009 11:25

C1ndy I think a little spotting afterwards is normal - I got it for about 10 days after the main event. I got most of my info on this from the Deanna website

www.pregnancyloss.info/waitingforaf.htm

This section should take you directly to the recovery scenarios. I found it really helpful.

I think if you had anything left there you may be getting pain. Have you done a test recently? My clinic told me to do a test and call them if it was a BFP - this was about 2 weeks afterwards. If it is BFN then I think you can reasonably safe in the knowledge that everything has gone. Sorry

iggypiggy · 23/04/2009 11:37

I just did a test - your post reminded me that I meant to wasabi and was negative - so am guessing everything gone for me - which is good cos it should mean AF should come in a month then?

wasabipeanut · 23/04/2009 13:02

Hi Iggy yes fingers crossed your normal cycle will resume in a month or so. By the way, don't beat yourself up about what you said to this person you know who had the mc. Whats done is done and you can't go backwards. I do know what you mean though. I found out recently that my next door neighbour who has just had her first, had an mc when I was expecting my ds. Several times we had conversations about how excited I was, when I was starting maternity leave etc. It must have broken her heart at the time.

Yet when I saw her big bump when I had the mc I was so jealous and sad. It's swings and roundabouts really. It certainly has made me a lot more careful about what I say.

Joolsiam · 23/04/2009 13:04

Just back from GP, who did an internal exam but couldn't see anything untoward. Given the relatively small amount of blood loss, she thinks there is still hope. I did up to recently as was still feeling nauseous, but my boobs appear to be deflating now ... The abdominal aching is now quite uncomfortable - like a nasty AF. I don't know how much blood and clotting you would see at under 6 weeks ?

Have got a scan - for what its worth - at 10.10 tomorrw. Not sure they'll see anything conclusive anyway.

Lovely GP did put my July CP onto the computer today, so that I can go back to her and get referred to the recurrent MC clinic if this MC is confirmed.

Having told my boss and got a sympathetic response, I'm now off to put my feet up in the garden for a while ...

yellowflowers · 23/04/2009 13:43

Thinking of you jools - in rush so no time to post more or respond to all the messages but will do later.x

C1NDY · 23/04/2009 13:56

Wasbi Thanks for the link. I will have a read in a moment. I did a test and it was a BFN, which is good and has put my mind at ease. Hopefully with my calculations AF should arrive on Sunday or later on next week . Guess this will be the only time I am urging it to start!! I am setting myself to start in July and can't wait to begin again - knowing me I may start earlier, depending on how I feel after the first cycle of AF is out of the way.

Feeling a little tired today.. it must be all the fine weather we are having in London. Went for a walk around Westminster and goush didn't want to come back to work!!
