Hi - BFN this morning, but probably still too early (I hope) at only 9DPO.

I think the thread may stay slow all Summer but will pick up in the Winter maybe ? I'd hate to see this one go

yellowflowers · 15/07/2009 23:23

me too jools - I am going to start a thread letting people know we are here if they want to join us.

yellowflowers · 15/07/2009 23:26

right, done it

daisydotandgertie · 16/07/2009 00:08

You're right. It does look nice in here.

Can I join?

engelbart · 16/07/2009 08:28

Oooh I'd love to join too. Feels very warm and friendly in here . I'm currently residing on the clearblue monitor thread but that can get a bit quiet too, and I need all the support I can get at the moment!

Bit of history, have one dd who is 4 soon and ttc number 2. Have been trying really really hard for the past few months with no effect despite doing everything right ie regular bedding, especially around ovulation, given up all alcohol and caffeine (going without my morning coffee is a real killer) and even made DH give it up too, taking loads of vitamin pills and even swigging the odd glass of grapefruit. To be honest I'm not sure what else I can do .

Joolsiam- sorry to hear about the BFN. It's so depressing, I know. I'll be on the 2WW soon and I am dreading it. I know anyday now I will go loopy and start sympton spotting and doing endless early pregnancy tests.

Yellowflowers- thats so annoying about going on holiday during your fertile period, I wonder if you will be able to slip away during the day for some impromptu bedding?

Waves to C1NDY. Hello!

Hello Onlywantsone I'll join you in symptom spotting like a mad woman I retched this morning when scooping the cat litter tray, recoiled at the smell of cat food when I opened it and nearly lost my breakfast when I walked to work through what seemed to be a very stinky high street

A warm welcome to Engelbart and Daisydot too

I'll go off in search of the list - feel free to add youselves

Joolsiam · 16/07/2009 08:52

Moved the list up - have put all our absentees down the bottom. I want to go find our BFP list too - losing that list makes it look like those people are gone and that is not the case - I love having them pop back Anyway, I've graduated twice and come back !!

And by way of introduction to new people:

I'm 31 and ttc number 1. Trying for 18 months. Have just started having hospital tests. Have mild pcos and am overweight. Have hunch I am having a lot of near misses due to lots of symptoms every month that I am sure are not psychosamatic.

engelbart · 16/07/2009 09:15

Hey yellowflowers, sorry to hear you're at bottom of list. If you don't mind me asking, what tests are you having done? I am starting to worry that I have problems too, espeically as I had major infections after dd was born (though no-one told me at the time that infections can cause infertility) also had miscarriage in February and am obsessed that something is still retained.

This ttc malarkey isn't much fun is it?

laurielou · 16/07/2009 09:22

Hello ladies, mind if I pop in?

37 TTC#1, came off pill 2 years ago, although having actively been trying for 2 years (if that makes any sense). Have GP appointment next week for 21 day blood tests.

Question for you knowledgable ladies - I started temping this month. Probably not the best month due to routine being shot thanks to holiday & mine & friends' birthdays so a few drinks. However, I'm on CD 21 & would've expected to see a surge by now. But my temp has steadily decreased since CD1. Any advice would be welcome.

Sorry to stick my head in & immediately demand help.

Vikks · 16/07/2009 09:26

daisydotandgertie · 16/07/2009 09:32

Thanks for the welcome ladies - I've added myself to the list

Joolsiam - AF due 20th July
Cindy - AF due 8/9/10th August - approx. 32 day cycle
Engelbart - AF due 29 July (29 day cycle)
Yellowflowers - AF due mid August

I am beginning to fret! I've taken another test this morning (Boots) and got another BFN. I've suddenly got a really strong sense of smell, am weeing ALL THE TIME and have the oddest shooting pains up my fanjo .

A little bit of history too; I'm 40 and TTC #1, had a miscarriage at 6 weeks in April and not a sausage since. I've been temping & OPKing for 4 months - my temps are still up at the moment.

Bodies!

Joolsiam · 16/07/2009 09:37

Daisydot - I'll be 40 in November and TTC#1 aswell. It is nice to have someone else around who is looking to be a more mature first time mum

Fell PG almost without trying last July - CP. Another BFP in Sept but really traumatic sudden and natural miscarriage at 11+5 (and day of my dating scan) in November - 2 days after my birthday. PG again in March - another MC at just under 6 weeks.

I've had recurrent MC tests done, and the results are coming in now - genetics testing is all clear. I reckon it is just old eggs and I've got to keep cracking a few till I find one that is still in date

I am feeling so seasick today, think I may test again tomorrow. Hopefully yesterday's test was too early.

Vikks · 16/07/2009 09:50

Just added me......

DaisyDot - AF due 3 July (ish) 21dpo
IggyPiggy - AF due 18 July (ish)
Joolsiam - AF due 20th July
Vikks - AF due 5th Aug (ish)
Cindy - AF due 8/9/10th August - approx. 32 day cycle
Engelbart - AF due 29 July (29 day cycle)
Yellowflowers - AF due mid August

daisydotandgertie · 16/07/2009 09:58

jools - Hurrah! Someone else with ageing eggs. I am quite sure mine are almost atrophied and very definitely wizened. I was 40 in February.

I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriages - each one must have been absolutely heartbreaking. You must be very relieved that the genetic testing has come back with good news.

How many DPO did you get BFPs for the previous pgs? I have had a couple of very early BPFs well before AF was due that came to nothing ... I figured that was a combination of atrophied eggs and wizened womb.

There really is no truth in the 'kiss a boy and you'll be up the pole' mantra I was taught when I was young.

Joolsiam · 16/07/2009 10:21

Daisy - with the first CP - I had enormous and sore boobage, but no idea of the stages of a monthly cycle / fertile times or anything else really I think I tested on day 26 of a 29 day cycle, got the BFP and then bled the next day, so AF came early and was heavy and clotty.

The second one was 13DPO as I hate the thought of early testing. I was fairly certain though, as I'd had obvious implantation cramps, a bleed and fizzy boobs

Third one - I didn't test till the day AF was due. Again, I was fairly certain - mild thrush, raging insomnia, night sweats, mouth ulcer and creamy cm post ov.

This time - I've got the creamy cm, night sweats, mouth ulcer and thrush, plus nausea, so am still hopeful. I only tested early because I've been told to contact the recurrent miscarriage clinic as soon as I suspect I am pg.

I may test again tomorrow, as I feel so sick today, but may hold off, as if I don't see spotting by Saturday morning, that will be the biggest indicator that AF may not be on her way.

Fingers crossed !

daisydotandgertie · 16/07/2009 10:45

It does sound as though you should be contacting the clinic, BFP or no BFP. The symptoms are too similar and obvious to ignore really; it sounds a lot as though your body is gearing up for a BFP.

Will they see you before you actually get a positive test? Your history implies they certainly should.

I'm relieved to read your list of symptoms; I have more signs than I thought. I've had buckets of creamy cm and have got v fizzy nips to add to my list.

It doesn't explain why I have no sign of AF, and no sign of a BFP though. I'm a long way past ovulation now.

My DH spent a few minutes with today's test and a magnifying glass this morning before suggesting a trip to the doctor might be in order. I think he's worried I am getting obsessed .

yellowflowers · 16/07/2009 11:24

everything crossed for you jools - and I am so pleased we have some new recruits!

Englebart - the tests ordered were day 3 and 21 bloods, internal scan and sperm test for dh. All done now and going back end of Aug for results. Nextstep after that if not an obvious problem is dye test then after that clomid.

Joolsiam · 16/07/2009 11:28

Welcome Vikks aswell

Daisy - yes, I think I will test in the morning and contact the clinic as I am feeling decidedly odd today - nausea all the time and the bloodhound sense of smell is really making me start hoping again. My abdomen is a little crampy today aswell - not like AF, but some vague niggles that just suggests something is going on in there

I'm gonna feel so stupid if this is all in my mind !! If this is it, then it feels like a good sign that the nausea I'm feeling is worse than it ever got in any of my (failed) pregnancies thus far
