Me again!

I have just got off the phone to my doctors to chase up my progesterone result and it is great news. The result needed to be 30 to indicate that I am ovulating and mine came back as 60 so that confirms that everything is working as it should be.

The gyney that I saw said that he thought the reason my result was low last time was that they tested too early, and it seems he was right. So I don't need to take clomid after all, we just need to keep plugging away at it, we have been trying for about 9 or 10 months now. I feel so relieved as have really been worrying something was wrong, so now I can relax a bit ( as much as you can when TTC!)

wasabipeanut · 27/05/2009 15:04

Oh Pinky that's great news. Clomid has really helped a lot of people but at the same time it is nice to know that everything is functioning normally!

Great news pinky and yellow wasabi i wasnt being naughty i dont think. AF was due sunday gone and i tested tuesday when i was two days over. Am now 4 days late, and will take yours and Iggys advice and test again in the morning.
Scan was fine. Said looks normal from what they could see there and then. Ovaries working. See doc for result. x

wasabipeanut · 27/05/2009 20:15

Oh Kitty I'm sorry I thought you meant you tested the Tuesday before you were due on the Sunday.

I take my wrist slap back.

I still think you should test tomorrow though!

kittycatcat · 27/05/2009 23:07

Thats ok wasabi you would be right to wrist slap if i had ;) will test in the morning. I feel like i am bleeding and have checked soooooooooooo many times today. is an odd feeling, i dont feel pg

kittycatcat · 28/05/2009 08:48

I did another test this morning. BFN. Confused.com I feel like i have AF, not in a cramp way, but like i can feel its arrived ifyswim!

Pinkyblue123 · 28/05/2009 09:45

How annoying Kitty our bodies do some odd things sometimes. You mention that you get spotting for a few days after AF I do too and have done since my DD was born. I mentioned this to the doc and he said that it was nothing to worry about.

Glad your scans went well Yellow and Kitty it is reassuring.

Well I know I have said it before but this month I mean business, I have bought some digital OPK's (extravagant or what!)Let's hope they are worth the money! DH says he is happy to step up the BD action, and has even embarked on a healthy living regime (let's hope it lasts!!!)

How are you feeling Wasbai

Hello to Iggy Jools Whatsfortea Cindy Funtime and everyone else

yellowflowers · 28/05/2009 09:56

Very annoying for you kitty.

I was messing about with my free opks today. Positive! I def ovulated (scan plus temp rises for 6 days now) so it's not that. Is it just because I have pcos?

kittycatcat · 28/05/2009 10:01

Hi Pinky, it's very frustrating isnt it. I have been regular since i came off the pill in jan, so i guess this is it starting to leave? Good luck for next month!

Hi all

C1NDY · 28/05/2009 10:04

Kitty sorry to hear that you still cannot work out if AF will arrive or if you have got the BFP.... how confusing!! your AF may just be late but I am hoping you get that BFP

Pinky great news on your test. I can see why you are worrying because of trying for nine or ten cycles... what are you using i.e. DP, OPK, CM, Temping??? Are you also using FF??

wasabipeanut · 28/05/2009 10:38

Hi ladies,

Kitty I'm sorry your body seems to be playing annoying tricks on you. TTC just seems to be make your body misbehave - mine does anyway.

Glad to hear you mean business Pinky. Those digital OPKs are quite cool although scarily expensive. If you combine it with temping at least you get to knwo your cycle very very well. I have said the DH that if this one is a worker we will never have to use contraception again as I know my cycle so well!

Yellow to get a positive OPK after you have ovulated is unusual. I think it must be pcos affecting it although the other explanation is that you are pg

I am feeling ok today but time is going sooooooo slowly. It's going to be a very long few weeks. No real symptoms apart from the odd twang from my abdomen and boobs and a crazy sense of smell. Really crazy. The smell of milk and cheese is really offputting at the moment which is a bit of an issue as ds has both regularly.

I noticed yesterday when I was cleaning the house that I got tired more quickly running up and down the stairs and stuff.

I have to keep reminding myself that it is really early and I shouldn't be expecting more symptoms. I think with ds my morning sickness kicked in at between 5 and 6 weeks so if that doesn't happen then its likely something is wrong again.

I am taking some comfort though that I already have more symptoms than last time. Last time was wierd - it was like a ghost pregnancy. No symptoms at all, I just felt normal. And we all know how that one ended.

C1NDY · 28/05/2009 12:11

Wasabi do go for an early scan, I wish I did it last time around. It will give you peace of mind. Just relax and don't try to do too much, the time will fly so enjoy. Try to keep well hydrated and ensure you eat.

OP posts:
C1NDY · 28/05/2009 12:13

Just wanted to add... you have done the hard work, so don't worry about if you don't get symptons etc.. just enjoy your pg and go for an early scan. Whatever is to be will be... so relax and enjoy. You and your little bean will be fine.

iggypiggy · 28/05/2009 13:31

Sorry about BFN kitty - although on the hopeful side - it ain't over till AF arrives!

Yellow am hoping it means you are PG

pinky good news about you not having to take clomid!

wasabi can imagine the worry is just something that comes with having had a MC - I had no symptoms at all really - so if you having more this time it must be a good sign. i have everythng crossed this one sticks. Also agree with C1ndy about early scan xx

Pinkyblue123 · 28/05/2009 16:11

Wasabi I suffered terrible morning sickness with DS and DD (until I was 5 months!) but it only kicked in at 6 weeks both times, I remember not really feeling any symptoms (apart from tiredness) before the 6 week mark. So everything you are feeling is normal. You are bound to feel nervous this time following your MC but just because you have had one does not mean it will happen again so try not to worry.

Cindy it is strange it is taking so long this time for me but it took me 18 months for DS (most of that time we were focusing on TTC at the wrong time of month!!) but I fell PG pretty much staight away with my DD and the one I lost. It is strange. The doctor said that trying for a year or more was not unusual especially once you pass 35. We are trying DP but with two small kids it is not always possible to do all the days. I am temping (have done for two months) and using OPK and FF so feel that we are now giving it out best shot!

yellowflowers · 28/05/2009 16:28

Hi iggy - I hope so too. But have done some reading and think it may just be what happens for pcos. Going to start thread on it just in case anyone else can shed light though.
x

iggypiggy · 28/05/2009 19:25

Oh really? shame... although still fingers crossed

kittycatcat · 29/05/2009 08:06

Morning all

Gorgeous day out.

Thought AF had arrived full throttle yesterday afternoon but just a bit of brown.... same this morning. Will have to see if comes today. Have all the signs.

How is everyone?

Joolsiam · 29/05/2009 08:10

Sounds like it could go either way then Kittycat - The day I got my Sept BFP, I was about to test the day AF was due, but had brown stuff on wiping in the morning so didn't bother - tested later in the afternoon because "AF" never got going and there was the BFP

Conversely, this cycle, I had 1.5 days of brown spotting before the witch got going - grrrr. Fingers still crossed for you.

My old EDD today - I was dreading it, but have woken up in a sad but reflective mood rather than a sobbing mess, so I'm pretending to work from home and will head for the cathedral later to light a candle for my lost LO

LovelyMonster · 29/05/2009 08:11

Thinking of you today Jools. I dont think anything i say will ease the pain but spoil yourself and try to have a good day

Hope everyone else is well. I am on ttw, the joy.

Yellow I went for my tv scan on tues too! And yes I also asked if the could see if i had concieved this month! I think they must get asked all the time! They were very nice about it. Otherwise all my bits seem to look ok, infact the sonographer said my uterus was 'beautiful' (do you hear that sperm?)!

So we are booked in to the doctor next week to find out results of my bloods and dh sperm count (hes a little worried - bless).

I have had a rotten throat infection all week and on antibiotics. Although now recovering still feel like shite. AF due sun/mon but not feeling too hopeful due to illness and only got to bd twice in fertile time.

Hope everyone else is feeling better than me and gearing up for a cracking weekend!!

kittycatcat · 29/05/2009 08:18

Thinking of you Jools [hugs] and thanks for the info....

Sorry you have been pootly Iggy fingers crossed ;-)

x

C1NDY · 29/05/2009 08:34

Jools I am so sorry... I am not looking forward to my 7 Oct! Its hard... but lighting a candle is a wonderful way of remembering (big hugs to you).

OP posts:
wasabipeanut · 29/05/2009 09:13

Oh Jools this was always going to be a very sad day. I think lighting a candle is a lovely way of remembering. I am thinking of you.

Lovelymonster Sorry to hear you have been ill. I had a throat infection/tonsilitus a couple of months ago and OMG it floored me totally so I sympathise!

Thanks for your attempts to make me feel better re early pregnancy neurosis! I know you are right. What will be will be and I have to calm down. Comfortingly I have been exhausted since I woke up and my stomach feels a but odd so I am happier today!

Am making GP appt today so I can get referred for a scan hopefully.
