Hi All,

Hope you like our new home!

Hi cindy - scan is part of whole host of tests fertility doc ordered to have at my first appt that I need to have before second appt. Just so happens it is this afternoon.

Now I am not (that should be I AM NOT) symptom spotting not least because I am on roughly cd4, but I just had a nosebleed. This is not something I usually get. It wasn't a big one but was entirely unexpected - nose felt wet, put hand there and took it away with lots of blood on it... (on other hand dh headbutted me a few days ago in the nose - sounds like I am a battered wife but actually he went to kiss me as I turned to look at something so maybe that caused it...)

kittycatcat · 26/05/2009 11:14

Woo hoo Wasabi your news has me grinning from ear to ear. I have been in a huff this morning - menstrual i think, and you have cheered me right up. Am absolutely thrilled for you, and yes keep us up to date every step of the way. When do you calc you are due? [beams]

Hi everyone )

C1NDY · 26/05/2009 11:34

As I said Yellow my money is on you this month. With a nosebleed remember to lean forward and not back it will stop the bleed quicker! (my training as a First Aider, has really paid off eh!). Let me know how you get on.

Has anyone heard from VillageMum, she went off the radar about two months agao.

yellowflowers · 26/05/2009 11:42

thanks cindy - everything crossed. Trying not to get hopes up though and can't test for at least a week (and that would be early). However I have 30 internet cheapies so if I do crack then it is not going to cost me much!

queenie1 · 26/05/2009 12:03

Just popped by to read up on how you were all doing...HUGE CONGRATULATIONS wasabi!!!! Such fabulous news - you must be so delighted!!!

I hope the rest of you are all doing okay and enjoying the BDing as much as you can? Me and DH have gone quite easy on that front through an irrationl fear of causing any harm down there. I so miss it now!!

I'm coming up to 16 weeks now and beginning to develop quite a little bump. It feels increasingly exciting and real. I have an appointment with my midwife in a couple of days and she's going to listen to the heartbeat. I'm so excited and so in need of the reassurance too, but I guess that nagging worry is never quite going to go away.

Love to you all
xx

lucygrif · 26/05/2009 12:29

hey ladies - fantastic news wasabi!!

baby dust to all those in 2ww, fingers crossed for you all x

I am now CD7/8 can't decide which day to call the first but just finished my last dose of clomid so back to consultant on friday to no doubt be told once again to "look on the internet for an IVF centre"

C1NDY · 26/05/2009 13:11

Lucy Welcome to the thread! How long have you been trying ?

OP posts:
wasabipeanut · 26/05/2009 13:44

Gosh its been busy here this morning! Thank you all so much for your congratulations and kind words. It means a great deal to me. I'm not entirely sure how I would have got through the last few months without you all. I will defintely stick around - after all it is a long time until my 12 week scan!

I am trying to envision my little peanut and am tslking to him and her and eating oodles of veg and salad to try and nourish it as much as possible. I usually fall back on a slice or two of toast at lunchtime as ds wears me out but I am making more effort now.

So sorry AF arrived Jools. At least it was roughly on schedule and you know that you are in working order as it were! Fingers crossed for a BFP again soon x

C1ndy This was the 2md month I had temped and I found it really interesting. I was assuming I ov'd on the day the OPK went positive but I wasn't - it was happening a good 36 hours afterwards. Temping is the only guaranteed way to tell when you ovulate although you can only see when it has happenned rather than when it is about to IYSWIM. Although some women (including me) get a dip in temperature just before. My pattern was positive OPK then the next morning I would get a drop in temp and the morning after that it would go up a little and then the next morning it would shoot up.

I bought a little kit from Boots with a thermometer, charting book and little folder to keep them in. It was about £12 I think. You need a proper thermometer so you can record to .00 of a degree as the variattions can be quite slight.

Yellow good luck with your scan this pm. Hopefully it will let you know what is going on in there! You have done a sterling job this month - I am exhausted just thinking of your schedule!

C1NDY · 26/05/2009 13:59

Wasabi thanks. I am sooooooooo happy for you. We will be all joining you soon on the other thread, so you will be in good company all the way....

I have decided that I may start next month to warm up to my ttc in July as I have no patience!! hehehe!! also, I want to give the temping a go with the OPK sticks. As the OPK are so flipping expensive. I know the internet one's are cheap but I always doubt how good they really are. With CM spotting and temping who knows...

Wasbi will pop along to Boots... I did buy a First Response monitor thingy but when I got pg I am not sure where I placed it, so in the mean time I will get a proper temp pack from Boots as you have suggested. I was using a home temp which I suppose is no good. Will get one on the way home. I am going to pop temp on FF as I heard that they work out a lot of your data for you??

OP posts:
wasabipeanut · 26/05/2009 14:04

C1ndy FF do work some stuff out but really, once you start seeing your chart you don't really need FF to work anything out. It all becomes quite obvious.

And internet OPK's are fine, really. Try zoombaby.com. That's where mine were from and they have been quite accurate!

C1NDY · 26/05/2009 14:26

Thanks Wasabi I brought some from Amazon and am not sure if I was ever happy with them. I use to always by Boots or Clearblue and check on them if I was in doubt. Okay will give yours a try. l

Hello. Scan ok I think. Sonographer said egg reserves look fine (had no idea they could see that). Said can't tell for definite whether ovulation occurrd as to do that they need to do two scans a week apart but that the follicle looked like I had ovulated and it correspondent to fact I think I ovulated this weekend and had twinges in left side so that is good. He said there were cysts (pcos) but didn't look too bad though he said that needs to be looked at at same time as blood test results to know whether pcos mild or not. All in all though he thought things looked ok and that it is pretty probable I just ovulated as thought. Phew!

yellowflowers · 26/05/2009 17:17

Corresponded, not correspondent. My ovaries are not journalists!

C1NDY · 27/05/2009 10:14

Yellow Good news, could they tell if you hit the egg? did you ask? I am nosey eh... well its good news, so it must be a load of weight off your mind... (is that how the saying goes?)

Big waves to everyone inc pinky Jools funtime and anyone else I've forgotten to mention xx

kittycatcat · 27/05/2009 10:30

When is the best time to test? Morning? Or is that a myth? Thanks x

iggypiggy · 27/05/2009 11:02

kitty First morning urine is best because it is the most concentrated - so the hormones should be stronger, and you more likely to see a positive. otherwise - try to hold on for as long as poss and try then

Would suggest first thing tomorrow tho... prob best

kittycatcat · 27/05/2009 11:05

crumbs. I will be stunned if i am what with the non productive month i have had. Naturally my body is playing more tricks on ,me now cos my mind is getting carried away. Af will have me by the end of the day . Betay

iggypiggy · 27/05/2009 11:13

Is a pain cos the symptoms for AF and PG are so much the same i was convinced that I was PG one month and washn't and was convinced AF was coming when I was... I guess maybe distract yourself and do test tomorrow if AF not here?

kittycatcat · 27/05/2009 11:16

yeh, have pelvic scan later. Booked last month cos i had spotting after period ended. Eeeek. x

iggypiggy · 27/05/2009 11:20

Good luck for scan xx

yellowflowers · 27/05/2009 12:47

Hi cindy. They couldn't tell if egg had met sperm alas! I think he thought I was mad for asking!

Everything crossed for you kitty.

Thanks wasabi. I hope so too.

Pinkyblue123 · 27/05/2009 13:46

Congratulations Wasbai I knew that you would get BFP this month, you had all the signs going on. Make sure you get plenty of rest (as much as DS will allow!!!)

Hello to everyone else, I am just popping in DS is on half term so am out and about a lot this week.

wasabipeanut · 27/05/2009 14:50

Thanks Pinky - enjoy half term!

Yellow I'm glad your scan showed that everything was as it should be and that yoor egg reserves are good!

Kitty what on earth were you doing testing last Tuesday missy? Repeat after me - early testing is the work of the devil and the marketing departments of First Response and Clearblue. Try again tomorrow morning as Iggy suggested. It's sounding quite positive! Best of luck with the pelvic scan.

It's all very quiet here. Had a few stitchy/crampy sensations yesterday and today and boobs still sore on and off. Other than the odd little stab of nausea this morning before I had breakfast I really wouldn't know I was pg. I have to keep reminding myself to stay calm and that I hadn't even tested by now with DS and my mc.
