OH forgot to say thankyou to everyone for all you good wishes xx makes it easier and lots nicer xx

heffieanna · 30/10/2009 08:12

Hello all. Sorry to hear about AF bubbalewy. She is such a pain when she arrives. Well I'm CD 21 (just checked this morning). I had peaks on days 19-20 and now high. Only BD-ed twice though as poor hubby is ill .

How many times do you have to realistically BD before you know.....it makes me laugh that these youngters on like Jeremy Kyle have a quick fumble after copious amounts of cider and it's job done!

Shmoo75 · 30/10/2009 08:19

Bubba Sorry the ole hag bag witch got you. Its so awful when she does. here's to the next cycle hun
heffieanna i think the booklet says DTD when you get High's and Peak's to cover all basis. when did you DTD? remember that sperm live 3-5 days inside you and, there are plenty of women who only did it once or twice through out the cycle and bam next thing they know they are pregnant.

I have a question for all of you who have been using the CBFM for a few cycles. From cycle 2 onwards of using the CBFM did you find you got less High days than you did the 1st cycle of using it?

heffieanna · 31/10/2009 09:22

On CD22 and got a low on the CBFM. Had my peak on days 19 and 20 so on the dreaded 2ww now........

Hi Shmoo -BD on CD 18 and 20 and according the the magic machine I peaked on 19 and 20. Like I say OH is ill at the moment so was not up for much action!!

On the 2ww now.....went to Boots yesterday to replenish the sticks and then thought no....I'm not paying it! I've got some on order from amazon a lot cheaper but what with the post strike I might not see them in time. I'm hoping I won't have to POAS tomorrow! Nearly forgot this morning....

Happy Halloween

Is there anything you tend to avoid / not eat etc during 2 ww? I had a beer last night as I'd had a sh1t day...what about strenous exercise?

heffieanna · 31/10/2009 18:40

Everyone out trick and treating?

Shmoo75 · 01/11/2009 10:41

heffieanna I tend to cut down on the booze drastically when I'm in my 2ww. I might have a small glass of wine with my dinner a couple of nights a week but, nothing more. I avoid drinking too many mugs of tea at work and home and try for more water ect. I would cut down on the exercise only as I have had 2 m/c's in a year and, I personally wouldn't do anything to risk it but, that is me.

I got my 1st High on my CBFM this cycle(says CD18 but, I say I am on CD19) this is due to AF showing up after my testing window and closed. So I will hopefully be in my 2ww by Wed 04/11 and testing on Mon 16/11 if, I can wait that long but, seeing as I am a poas addict and I have loads of internet cheapies to use you just know that I will!

Amberc · 02/11/2009 12:18

What's POAS by the way?

Hi All, - hope everyone is doing well. I am on day 11 today and should be on a peak day if my last two cycles have anything to do with it but am still on low. Not even a trace of the second blue line. Isn't that odd? Still we have our appointment at the clinic on Thursday so DP has to abstain from tomorrow onward. Looks like this cycle is a no go then which is a shame.

I don't abstain from anything on the 2ww. I am cutting right down on caffeine generally though and taking folic acid every day just in case though.

Amberc · 02/11/2009 12:19

Oh Bubba - sorry to hear about AF.Fingers crossed for next cycle!

Vikks · 02/11/2009 12:24

Amberc - POAS is pee on a stick
Good luck at the clinic on Thursday, I'm at mine too! Fingers crossed.

Shmoo75 · 03/11/2009 06:54

Hows everyone doing?

I just got my 3rd High so hopefully will get my 1st Peak tomorrow and, be in my 2ww on Thurs. Means this cycle will be a bit longer by 2days so, heading for a 35 day instead of 33. Never mind as long as it results in a BFP I don't care!

Amberc · 03/11/2009 13:48

Bloody typical - too tired for BD yesterday and was on a low day. Got peak this morning and can't BD as DP has to abstain for 2 days before our tests on Thursday!!!!!! I wonder if we did it Thursday afternoon it would be too late - what do you think? PS Got my redundancy through today so as of 24 december i'll be unemployed! Eeeeeek!

JustShaggy · 03/11/2009 15:11

Damn! Had a spare test so just used it up. BFN.

I suppose I am still on Cycle 1 but not feeling very hopeful now. The last time I was staring at a stick it was after my MC and wishing the BFP would go away. Weird to be doing the opposite now.

I was tempted by the fact my boobs feel twice the size they normally do. But I've always been so useless tracking my cycle (why I need a CBFM!), that I don't know if this is a normal cycle symptom for me or not. And last night I had really strange cramping in my side....

Oh well: JustShaggy TTC#1 MC June 2009 Cycle 1(CBFM) Age 38 UCL 29 CD24

How soon after ovulation can one expect to get symptoms?

amberc I tend to get two peaks in a row, and ovulation is supposed to occur sometime after the peak - isn't it? So keep your fingers crossed... maybe...! BTW - I was told fibroids are very common and very rarely anything to worry about. So I'm not going to worry. If you ask about them at your Thur appointment, I'd be interested to know what they say to you.

Amberc · 03/11/2009 16:16

Well justshaggy they are going to do a pelvic scan so we'll see whether things have worsened from the last time I had one a few years ago. Sorry for the BFN - it's really early for testing though isn't it?

JustShaggy · 03/11/2009 17:05

amberc - I was also told that Caribbean women were especially prone to fibroids and some of them had really 'gnarly' wombs (their word, not mine). I think the issue depends on where the fibroid is located. But the obstetrician said to keep in mind they shift position as the womb changes shape ... I almost laughed: one of those pieces of info that you don't know if you should worry about or not. Good luck with the appointment. Fingers and toes crossed for you.

I don't know if it is too early to test? I thought implantation could take place 7-10 days after ovulation and that after that happened hcg levels rise. (Sounding all knowledgable when I actually don't have a clue! )Nine days after when I think I ovulated....? I won't test again and will wait and see.

Vikks · 04/11/2009 09:59

Well I?ve been injecting myself for 6 days today and my scan is tomorrow to see if it?s worked. I?m not feeling too confident; POAS is morning and got ?low?. I felt sure I would get a ?high?. I?m now worried that this weeks been a waste and I?m gonna need much stronger Meds. I guess all I can do is wait??

JustShaggy ? I think it?s better to wait until about 14 DPO to be sure it?s a definite BFN. It sooooo hard to hold out until then, but better for your sanity! Good luck, we?re ready for another BFP on this thread.

Amberc ? Probably a bit late now but, I?d be tempted to move DP test until you?re on the 2WW to maximise your chances this month. Is DP freaking out about the test or taking it all in his stride? My DH was ok with his first one because he could do it at home, but he?s got another one next week at the clinic in the ?special room? and he really doesn?t like the idea of that! I have no sympathy for him after everything I?ve been through !!

Shmoo75 ? Did you get your peaks?

Baby Dust

Amberc · 04/11/2009 12:18

Ha Ha - DP is fine about it but said i might need to 'help' - I think they have 'literature' to speed things along!!

Amberc · 04/11/2009 12:19

Vikks - what have you been injectivg and what does it do? what are they scanning for?

JustShaggy · 04/11/2009 12:47

Vikks and Amberc - May I ask how the two of you reached a point where you realised you needed this extra medical attention?

More techie stuff..... As well as using the CBFM, I also log everything on this site - www.mymonthlycycles.com. (So I can print off stuff to take to the doc if I need to). I had to pay a teeny bit for the fertility part.

You can track cycle symptoms, and I am realising this is one way to get through the boring 2WW and also build a history to look back on. e.g. I remember when I got my BFP in April my breasts were unpleasantly painful at that stage (17 DPO), but they aren't now. Looked back to this sort of time in the cycle in April and saw that I had logged my boobs as being larger and moderately sore..... made me think that if things go the same way in this cycle I'm still sort of on track.

Anyone else doing this?

I'm actually OK about the BFN, was Cycle 1 after all and I am seriously ancient. I now have another dilemma... the thought that it is likely a BFN has been put in my head and there's a bottle of wine just sitting there in the fridge in the evening. I find that harder to resist than the tests! But holding firm.

JustShaggy · 04/11/2009 13:05

Ooooo. Just found this site - helpful for someone like me: Pregnancy test calculator. I put in my details and got this in response (assume ovulation is one day past the last peak..... is that right?):

At 10 DPO and 5 days until your next period, there are no home pregnancy tests that can be used this early.

If you want to test this early, consult with your medical doctor immediately regarding a blood pregnancy test.

When will a HPT work? Review your fertility calendar below. Note the countdown days to your next period. There are home pregnancy tests that will work starting on 4 days before your missed period.

Answer Quick & Simple® : 4 days before
Clearblue® easy : 4 days before
Rite Aid One Step Pregnancy Test : 4 days before
Clear Choice? : Start day
Certainty® 1-Step Pregnancy Test : Start day
First Response® Early Result Pregnancy Test : Start day

Hello all

My goodness me, it seems ages since I last managed to post! Things haven't really calmed down at all so this isn't going to be a long one either... Have got dad over looking after ds who's on half term at the mo, and so am hardly able to come on the computer...

hello to all the newbies It's nice to see new faces on this thread, hope you're not here for long tho, iykwim

Am now on CD 28 - AF due Friday I think going on 10 day LP... No symptoms, so not under any illusion that I might be pg

Good luck to everyone coming up to their testing window, we could do with some BFP's!

Have to go now, but just want to say well done Vikks for being so brave and doing your injections, it must be horrible! Good luck with your scan tomorrow x

Good luck to everyone else too, and I'll try to come back and post properly soon!

Vikks · 04/11/2009 20:14

Amberc ? I?m injecting FSH which makes your follicles grow and mature. The scan tomorrow is to check the follicle sizes, they need to be 18mm. If they?re the right size I?ll give myself a trigger shot which means I?ll ovulate within 24-48 hours. If they?re too small, more FSH and then another scan next week. But if I?ve got too many growing then no BDing for the rest of the month (high risk of multiple PG?s)! So tomorrow is going to be very interesting. Hope it goes well for you too.

JustShaggy ? DH and I decided to get medical help after 9 months. We knew that there was something wrong with me because my cycles were really long (one was 120 days). How long have you been going now? Are you worried?
I also track my cycle online, I use fertilityfriend.com. I record temp, CM, Meds and monitor readings, it predicts your AF and OV too. They?re great for understanding your body. Anyone else using them?

Monkeybumsmum ? Hello again! Fingers crossed AF stays away for you. The injections are not too bad and I really shocked myself at how well I coped with it. After a few times it?s almost easy! Let?s just hope they do the trick.

Amberc · 05/11/2009 14:02

Hi all! We decided to go for proper help after trying for 8 months. I am 37 in a month. We have been doing everything right so not sure why it wasn't working. I have also had a c section and thyroid problems which can affect things.

Appointment today was seriously strange. Like it's admitting we have a problem. My scans came up normal but the consultant said he wanted to check on my hormones (another test which tells you about the quality of your eggs). That needs to be done on day 2-3. The I need to also check the finger bits on the ends of my fallopian tubes as they can be damaged after a c section if there was even a trace of infection afterwards. I have to have dye injected into my womb nd then an XRAy. DP got a semen analysis - not great. He was borderline in terms of number and mobility but had too many antibodies and something else that I can't remember which kill off the good ones - hmmm.

LucyAngel82 · 05/11/2009 15:16

Hi ladies,

Mind if I join you please? I am CD15 (UCL 28 days) on my first cycle using CBFM. I have had highs since CD11 but no peak yet...I really am hoping I get peaks this month! I always thought I Ov'd CD 14 but maybe not...

Me and DH have been TTC since Jan 08, in Feb 08 we had a m/c @ 5 1/2 weeks, then preg again straight away which ended in a mm/c @ 91/2 weeks May 08.
We didn't conceive again until Jan 09 which was our little Lucy, sadly Lucy was born asleep at full term 24.09.09 due to a suspected concealed placental abruption. We get our results back on Dec 14th.

So 2 years of trying and no baby in my arms yet . This is really important to us so I really hope this little gadget can help us get preggers again quickly and we have our happy ending this time!

cyncan · 05/11/2009 20:30

Hi ladies!! I am writing you all from Ghana... had to come here on an emergency situation... one of our projects is in deep trouble. So now stuck in Africa... trying to repair what is broken.... not much fun.

AF got me on cycle day 35... Four months and still nothing! I am starting to worry. We have been bdding like maniacs. Hopefully now on my way back from Ghana things happen...

Hope all is well with all. Lets keep our hopes up ladies.

xoxox

monkeybumsmum · 05/11/2009 20:56

Lucy I am so very sorry to hear about what you've been through. I don't know how you are finding the strength to try again, you are obviously an amazing lady. Welcome to our thread, and I hope with all my heart that things work out, and you do end up with a happy ending.
Wrt the CBFM it does tend to surprise - I thought I always ov'd on CD14/15 with a 14 day luteal phase, but no that's not the case Hopefully you'll get a peak tomorrow... I normally get between 3 and 5 highs before I peak.

Cyncan Gosh, I hope you've managed to sort things out over in Ghana. Have a very safe journey back, and here's to fifth month lucky

Amber Hello That's good that they're looking into things thoroughly, and if they've found problems with your dh then at least they can try to help. Did they mention what they might possibly do? One of my friends DH's had his sperm 'washed' then inserted, I think he had antibody problems too. Good luck!

CD29 here, and convinced AF coming tomorrow. Have been having twinges of period pain, so am definately expecting it.
Being v boring tonight and am off to bed with a mug of hot milk and the latest Cecelia Ahern to read Lovely...
Hi to all I haven't mentioned, hope you're all ok x
