Vikks · 26/10/2009 15:49

BFN!! No big surprise there.

bubbalewy Good luck! When are you testing?

Amberc · 26/10/2009 17:22

I think the hormone levels say that you 'should' be ovulating.Whther an egg makes it down the tube is another thing I guess. Also whether the eggs are ripe enough when they are released - there are so many variables. I had a blood tests with my doc at day 4 and 21 which are more reliable to tell you whether you actually have ovulated or not.

Just Shaggy - I have not been through it myself but my sister has had 2 mcs at 9-10 weeks and one devastating one at 20 weeks when she was carrying twins so I know what you must be feeling. She is now pregnant again and petrified every day of waking up with blood in her knickers. It won't go away but you get through it day by day. Maybe some councelling would help?

Amberc · 26/10/2009 17:28

Oh sorry missed the last page - Bubba that does sound positive - I only had one shag when I created my first. Had a horrid accident yesterday and ended up in A&E so finding it difficult to type. My little one poked me in the eye and tore my cornea so I can't see and have horrid goo to putin my eye 4 times a day which hurts like hell. Children eh - who'd have 'em?!

bubbalewy · 26/10/2009 22:36

eye eye AMBERC hope yr feeling better soon, bless the little children huh? lol

I not sure if i should test or not yet, im being so cool about this! for a change
Ive still got very small pink look downstairs
I usually spot for 1 day then nothing till 3 days later when AF comes so it is different this cycle.. Or am i just over symptom spotting?? answers on a postcard please lol

Would a cheap pound shop test show a BFP yet anyway?!

MONKEYSBUMSMUM Have fun in Wales

Shmoo75 · 27/10/2009 08:32

Hi all. i am feeling like poo today so calling in sick then going back to bed for a little while. CD13 and CBFM still showing Low so, fingers crossed this Fri I get my 1st High and, I feel better so me and hubby can DTD all over the weekend and all next week. Here's to being completly knackered by next weekend

Vikks sorry it was BFN hun. When is the ole witch bag due for you? Could it still be too early?
Amberc hope you are feeling abit better. Bless the little ones!
justshaggy welcome. I have had 2 m/c's and it doesn't get any easier I can tell you. I just know I am going to be a Mum one day so, I can't give up trying can I? Here's to all of us getting our sticky BFP's.
Bubba hows the pink tinge going? when are you going to test?

JustShaggy · 27/10/2009 11:53

CD17 and I CBFM dropped back to a low yesterday on CD16. I think I might have messed up - I assumed yesterday that once it hit a low it would stop asking me to test so didn't even bother to check this morning - but its asking for a test. Why is that?

Thanks everyone for the kind words about the MC. I was utterly clueless about pregnancy, conception and everything prior to that MC so being pregnant and then the impact of having a mc took me and DH totally by surprise - was the shock of our lives, I think. When I say clueless, I really mean it - can't believe I reached the age of 38 being so thick about all this. I have since learned that only 5% of first pregnancies end in miscarriage, and I was one of those, so am worried about possible implications of that. The odds of me having a second mc have risen to 20%. I think DH and I are both now trying to prepare ourselves for more mc's - don't know how many we could endure though.... We're going into TTC unbelievably nervous about what may be ahead.

Amberc My heart goes out to your sister - what am absolute nightmare. I would have thought counselling for something as devastating as this would come as standard, but no...
Vikks I'm so sorry. btw, I must say that 'toxins' is my non-medical way of describing whatever it is that sperm give out when they die that then impacts on live sperm... it seemed better than saying 'rot' - bleurgh.
bubba fingers crossed x

Shmoo75 · 27/10/2009 16:10

justshaggy Is this the 1st cycle you have used the CBFM? I think it asks for all 2o sticks to be used so it gets an accurate record of your cycle. You also need to switch it on every morning even after it has stopped asking you for tests as, you need to re-set it for the next cycle if witch shows up and, it records your cycle length so, it knows when to start asking for your 1st test. As I got my Peaks last cycle on CD20&CD21 this cycle it started asking for a test on CD9 instead of CD6. Hope this makes sense.

Schmooo do stay in... and relax.. you will feel better soon

I had a question for all you ladies.... I have been reading about this but wanted to get your opinions...

Do you know if having a yeast infection can interfere with ttc??

Thanks!

Broodymomma · 27/10/2009 17:53

Hi everyone.

Room for a little one? It is my first month using the cbfm and i am so confused by it. I have had my highs and peaks roughly when i expected them but my peak ended 4 days ago and its still asking me for tests every morning - is that right? Going to cost a fortune every month lol.
We have been trying for a second child since oct 07, my gorgeous 2.7 year old son was a result of our 3rd ivf. Since having him we have done another ivf that failed so have decided no more treatment but we are going to use the monitor just to make sure we are giving ourselves the best chance. Good luck to you all x

me:34, dh 33, ds 2.7
ttc no. 2 since oct 07
ds conceived through ivf, 3 failed ivf and 1 mc
UCL 28 days
1st month of CBFM currently CD21

Amberc · 28/10/2009 10:24

Hi all, personally I think that when you get to the low again you needn't bother doing more tests and this is CBFM's way of extracting more cash from you! Thing is it does 'memorise' your cycle so it wants you to do 10 tests per cycle depending on how long it is so it gets a full picture of the whole cycle.
Vikks I am now on cycle 3 of CBFM and day 6 - I think that's my stupidity as I am 25 days between periods - doh!
Af just coming to an end. We can't really properly try this month as we have our app at the fertility clinic on Thursday and DP has to abstain for at least 2 days. Will be days 9-11 then for BD. Hope to get a peak on day 11. It would be typical for me to get preggo this time naturally when our app at the clinic is costing £440!
Welcome broody!

bubbalewy · 28/10/2009 12:56

Hi all, Ive found that my cbfm will sometimes ask for 3 more sticks after my 2nd peak day usually with 2 highs and a low then it wont ask, otherwise its just 2 sticks, The first month it will ask for more to get to know you
I usually use about 7/8 sticks tops when my cycles are ok.
Oh and im still having bit pink/brown spot, feel like af on way i think, im due on 2mo so im being good and will test fri if af hasnt shown ive no symptoms so im not hopefull

bubbalewy · 28/10/2009 12:59

Oh i did get a headache yesterday !! think im a bit overboard on the symptom spotting

JustShaggy · 28/10/2009 13:46

Shmoo75 I actually used it for the first time in April - and got a BFP positive straight away but ended up in a MMC. I started using it again after my MC - even though we were not TTC - just to see if my cycle was stabilising. So this month is Cycle 1 of TTC rather than Cycle 1 of using CBFM. I will check every day though - didn't realise I needed to so thanks for alerting me to that. Today, CD18, it didn't ask for a test. Hoping schmoo is feeling less poo today...

cyncan Yes, I think it can. I read something to that effect a couple of days but can't find it now. My doc told me creams and pessaries are safe to use in pregnanacy but my Canestan box said otherwise for both pregnancy and while trying to conceive. You def can't take the thrush pill thingy while pregnant (sorry, I forget the name of it).

I can't remember now how many sticks I had to use the first time I used the CBFM, but I use between 8-10 a month, I think.

Heading off for an appointment about fibroids now - cr*p - hate venturing into the medical world, but have to.... ugh!

Shmoo75 · 28/10/2009 15:31

Bubba Got my fingers crossed that witch doesn't show and you get to test on fri and tell us its a BFP

I'm feeling much better today not 100% but much better. my cough is hanging around which is very annoying. Me and hubby didn't DTD last night and wont tonight as, need to start DTD every night from tomorrow night until at least next Sunday to be sure. I hope I get my Peaks on Mon & Tues so, that it mirrors my last cycle.

bubbalewy · 28/10/2009 15:38

Thanks shmoo, glad your feeling much better them coughs that hang on are so annoying good luck for your peaks. I will so be letting everyone know if its good news as i would be in shock !!

Amberc · 28/10/2009 15:41

Ha ha Shmoo - you and I will be peaking together

just shaggy - I also have fibroids so interested in what happens at your app. Good luck

bubba - fingers crossed for you

PS my sister has just had thrush whilst preggers. She was allowed to use the pessary but not the pill if that's any help.

Shmoo75 · 28/10/2009 15:58

Amberc i know what we both will be upto all weekend this weekend this also means we will be testing buddies on about 16/11 if we can hold out that long that is
Bubba will be thinking of you on Fri morning and logging on whilst at work the afternoon to find out if you are up the duff. I so hope that you are hun.

My hubby is getting annoyed ith our freeview digi box at the mo. By the sounds of it he is about to punch it to death!

heffieanna · 29/10/2009 16:29

Hello all! Can I join please?

In 6th month of trying. 1st month using CBFM.....got a peak today and yesterday and some highs leading up!

So is this contraption any good?!

mamabelli · 29/10/2009 18:39

hello ladies

so sorry have been MIA but i got my bfp at the beginning of august and i have been sooooo ill i've hardly been online at all.

it was a bit of a surprise tbh as i had a m/c the prev month so basically i managed to get preg only 2 weeks later!! big surprise, specially at my age lol.

good luck to all you cbfm-chicks this month - hoping for bfps for you all x

heffieanna · 29/10/2009 19:54

TTC # 1
Current CD 20 (or 21 can't remember)
UCL 34 (roughly)
Months trying 6
1 month with CBFM

Vikks · 29/10/2009 21:56

Heffieanna & Broodymomma ? Hello and welcome! Hope the CBFM does the trick for you. We?re all big fans of ours on here; it takes out all the guess work. Good luck!

Mamabelli - Hope you?re feeling better now and the rest of your pregnancy runs smoothly.

Amberc - How did it go at the clinic?

Bubbalewy - Good luck testing, I?ve got everything crossed for you. X

And my news?.. I'm starting my injections tomorrow! One week of FSH and then a scan and then maybe some more FSH until I?ve got (hopefully) 2 lovely 18mm follicles. Then a HCG trigger shot and loads of BD! The longer you stay in the TTC World, the crazier it gets. Wish me luck with the self-injecting (I need it ).

PS. Still got my CBFM on!!!
