Oh dear maybe I got a dodgy one - I'll stick with it till the end of the cycle and see - or maybe I should give them a call in the morning - but not sure I can dial their helpline number from where I am...

NewMember · 16/04/2009 18:09

I think you might have a faulty one, def does not sound right! Where did u buy it from?

timmette · 16/04/2009 18:19

ebay - - but it was a brand new one from a reputable seller.

NewMember · 16/04/2009 18:23

Thats very strange! Have you tried replacing the batteries?

timmette · 16/04/2009 18:29

No but I will try that tomorrow when I go shopping and get some it's a good idea.

NewMember · 16/04/2009 18:31

I think that might help! Your maybe better starting on a new cycle tho Just to make sure it works properly!

Ilovebeingamummy · 16/04/2009 21:37

Hi Timmette

On your first cycle the monitor should as for test from Day 6 until you have 2 peaks (or tell it af arrived). Mine didn't peak til CD24!!!

I think it says something in the manual about resetting it. If it were me I would follow the reset advice (you need an old used stick or be prepared to 'waste' an unused one) on the first day of next cycle (f no bfp this month!).

That way you can keep going with it this month (you probably haven't missed peak by Day 12 - how long are your cycles?)

Best of luck ILBAM xx

Well the good news is I got a high today day 15 which is about right I think for a cycle of approx 30 days...does anyone know if that's about right..

NewMember · 17/04/2009 09:43

Yea I would say that was right! Hopefully tomorrow you will get a peak 2!

timmette · 17/04/2009 10:08

Well we bd yesterday maybe he has some very long living little swimmers .

NewMember · 17/04/2009 14:08

Lol, they say they last up to 5 days! Fingers Crossed

wishingwell · 17/04/2009 14:53

Hi guys,

I'm on cd6 and cbfm asked for a test this morning. It was low which is to be expected. Looks like the ttc game has started again for me . I have no idea what sort of cycle I'm going to have this month since this is the 1st cycle after mc. Hopefully will get back to my normal which is anywhere between 25-28 days.

Timmette, glad that you got your peak so the cbfm clearly hasn't missed your lh surge days which is great news and also you save on the sticks as well, brilliant! Enjoy the BD .

ILBAM: how's it going with you? I have a short luteal phase since 1st mc: about 9-10 days but managed to have dd. The dc doesn't think my 2nd mc has anything to do with short LP. Would be interested to hear how you get on with the progesterone.

Also hello to NewMember. Hope this is your month!

NewMember · 17/04/2009 15:21

Hi wishingwell

Sorry to hear about your mc! Hope u are doing ok!

Hopefully the cbfm will bring us all gd luck

timmette · 17/04/2009 16:50

Hi wishingwell I am on first cycle since mc too but feeling positive despite dodgy cbfm - . Hope it goes fine for you and I have saved on test sticks - lol. Plan on plying dp with wine and dragging upstairs when we get the little one to bed - or I will have one glass of wine and fall asleep on the sofa

wishingwell · 17/04/2009 19:13

just remembered have to do the dipping thing with the sticks- is everyone dipping too? what do you use to catch the pee with? . am thinking of pinching a paper coffee cup from starbucks

dh came home from work unexpectedly early this evening and dd was not well today and has gone to bed already. dh asked if i might like to hmm..hmm and without thinking i said 'i'm only on cd6 - not time yet' at me!! have to offer dh a choc creme egg that i've been hiding to say sorry. think i'm forgiven -phew!

Hi wishingwell

Its very difficult trying not to get caught up with the whole pregnancy thing! Our poor partners eh ... deprived until the time is right! HAHA!

I am sure the Easter Egg will sort things!

katlokna · 17/04/2009 19:29

Hi wishingwell. I have been using an old jug from the kitchen. I store it in the bathroom and wash it out afterward. I find it is far less messy and you can keep it up there ready for testing with HPT later .

timmette. I suspect what has happened for you is not a dodgy monitor but rather the ebay seller did not reset it after using it (unless supposed to be new of course). After the first cycle, the monitor 'gets to know you' as it were and so day 12 may be normal for the previous owner IYSWIM.

As for me, I am officially 10 days away from what I hope will not be a visit from AF. The 2WW is bugging me already.

I hope everyone else is working hard (at BD'ing I mean), and I hope to see some BFP posts soon.

wishingwell · 17/04/2009 20:02

hi katlokna only jug i've got is 1.5L and don't think i can fit it in the toilet but now you've given me an idea-might get dh to search in the loft for some plastic cups that we use for picnic

arghhh...the dreaded 2ww. good luck and i hope the witch stays away for you this month

have a great weekend everyone.

timmette · 18/04/2009 07:25

Hi Wishing Well what about an empty yohurt pot - the little ones.
Hi Katlonka your are probably right about the monitor - but I did think I was buying a new one . At least it seems to be working now. Good luck on your 2 week wait - we will be out this month as dp is away for the next few days when I should get a peak .

wishingwell · 18/04/2009 07:34

aww timmette bad luck with dp being away on your peak day. my dp goes away a lot as well and it's annoying when if around ov time so i truly symphatise. bd anyway before he goes, i heard sperm can last up to 7 days. a friend of mine worked out that her dh sperm survived for almost 9 nine days when they had a accident baby

Ilovebeingamummy · 19/04/2009 20:14

Hi all

Back from my weekend away...and no af yet. It was due yesterday but as the progesterone can hold it off it may be that. I did have quite a bit of pink cm (sorry tmi) today and as this would be 9dpo I am praying that the morning will bring no proper af......

Otherwise its Clomid for me I think and the CBFM will have been on for just 1 month

On the dipping - I use an old egg cup!!!

Timmette - I cannot imagine how frustrating it must be for you and your dp for him to be away on peak days (make good use of your highs either side!!)

Hope all surviving this ttc better than me today - I want to cry with the feeling that my hopes for a 2009 baby are about to come crashing around my ears x

Hi Ilovebingamummy hope AF hasn't arrived for you yet - I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Wishingwell - well we managed to bd last night when he was back and cbfm says I have peaked this morning - do I have any chance - as he has gone again untill Tuesday now . Or should I just give him for the month

Ilovebeingamummy · 20/04/2009 21:19

Hi

Af arrived this morning. As did Day21 tests saying that my progesterone was only 2 so I didn't ovulate Am distraught as will have to wait 14 weeks to see fertility dr at hospital and GP won;t prescribe clomid in the meantime.

Am going to have homeopathy and pray hard.

Timmette- sounds positive for you last night could def do it!

Best wishes all

OP posts:
wishingwell · 20/04/2009 22:13

ILBAM: so sorry about your progesterone reading. I know how distressing it can be as I had a couple of anovulatory cycles after the 1st mc but it was sorted out on the 3rd cycle. I knew I didn't ovulate as my body temp was all over the place and didn't rise at all. I've heard really positive things re homeopathy-i'm sure it'll help sort your cycle out. Good luck with that and let us know how you get on with it.

timmette: think you are in for a good chance there as sperm can survive quite long in favorable condition. Since you peaked this morning, it can't be anymore favorable than that can it?

As for me, it's only cd9 and still low on the cbfm. hoping to get a peak/high at the weekend.

timmette · 21/04/2009 08:17

ILBAM - I posted on your other message but it seems like ww is saying a similar thing - maybe you could ask your GP about this while you wait for your referral. I am sorry my crossed fingers didn't work. .
