What do you think?

Sparkly

  1. DP is right. Scan last night not til 7.20, brown blood (= old blood) this afternoon, therefore baby is fine. Am convinced.
  1. Consultant told you there is now less than a 1% chance of mc. That still applies. Hang on to that. And it sounds like he was someone who should know what he was talking about
  1. There are plenty of women on knicker checkers who have had brown bleeding for weeks and weeks with their current pregnancies, everything is fine. It messes with your head, not with your baby!
  1. How about getting the number for the consultant's private secretary (you're a tenacious lady, I'm sure you can do it!) and calling her tomorrow, explaining what's happened with as much detail as you can and asking her to ask the consultant what he thinks and what you should do from here scan-wise?
  1. Spook is definitely a boy, being so naughty!

Keep your chin up lovely, I honestly believe you'll be just fine In about 4 weeks you'll be able to listen to the heartbeat rather than having to wait for scans. Much better. YOU WILL GET THERE!

Back in a bit for a more general post!

SparklyPseudonym · 31/03/2009 19:44

Thanks Kate. I have her email addy (she's called Helen) but DP wants to wait before emailing her (to see if there are any further developments). ARGH!

HerNameWasLola · 31/03/2009 20:30

Email her tomorrow morning. If there are any "developments" which hoefully there won't be, you can email her again. God I'm bossy.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 31/03/2009 20:50

Good luck Sparkly. Try and get some rest. Lola is right. She speak a lot of wisom. Be as proactive as you can be. I'm sure it's just a blip. But a horrible, scary one. The percentages are in your favour. LOL. xx

Lola re the sizing issue, you may remember my (not so ample boobs ) did not fill the top I tried so I am concerned that may be the issue with the one I saw?? But as I said I reeeallly like the one you have in that B.... colour

Sparkly lovely scan and don't worry about the disharge! you may remember I had the exact thing at the same stage!!! and doc said if it's brown and a little, don't worry too much! Are they going to scan you again just to make you feel better?

feeling really today, Ian didn't get in the primary school that his 3 siblings attend, they have allocated him a place a few miles away!

BellaHarry · 01/04/2009 13:09

Emmsy that is ridiculous!!! I can't believe they do that!! What is the school's top reason for admissions then? 'siblings attend' is almost a definate way in to our school I'm sure of it. Make sure you take full advantage of the 'appeals' procedure, ask the school how to do this it's well worth trying as you have a strong case. Let me know if you need more info.

SparklyPseudonym · 01/04/2009 18:25

Evening ladies,
What a beautiful day it has been! (Can you tell I'm trying to be positive?!)
Discharge is now has a slight browninsh/pinky tinge (because you were all desperate to know the exact details of my bodily functions) No red blood, clots, prune juice wiping, pain etc (This list is to reassure myself) and I even took my pregnancy notes out of the car and wrote my name on them (God, I love brackets!!).

Kate I love the calm nature of your posts. Thank you. Haven't emailed 'Helen' but might if I notice anything else.
Ei Lots of luck to you.
Teehee Did you fiddle with the carseat? If not, do it NOW (unless it is dark!).
Bella Thanks for reassurance. Did they find the cause of your bleed? No scan unless I pay again.
Emmsy What a bloody nightmare. You know he doesn't legally have to start school yet? I'd def go for the appeal and push the home educating threat and also tell them you're going to speak to the local paper....if there is anything I can do just let me know. xx
Mollie I want a list of 2WW symptoms to keep me distracted - get a move on!!!!

DD: Mummy, can I have a hug?
Me: No love, I'm busy doing this....

[bad-mummy-emoticon]

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 01/04/2009 18:40

Sparkly Been hoping that you'd post all day. So very glad that things seem to be calming down. Phew. . Hopefully this is just a little episode and you can now go on to have a stress free (is that possible?!) pg. I think you deserve a celebratory glass of wine. I'll pour the wine, and we'll both sniff it, then let our other halves guzzle the whole bloody lot .

We're off tomorrow arvo to my parents (they live 15 mins away from Gatwick) as we have a REALLY early start on Fri morn. Yawn.

So will bid you lovely ladies a fond adieu and I'll catch up with you when we get back on 11th.

xxxxxx

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 01/04/2009 18:42

Oh and Emmsy. Grrrr at you LEA. What a bunch of chuffs. Would def fight for Ian's place at siblings school. There's loads of internet based companies now that deal with appeals. Just google. Good luck xxxx

OP posts:
HerNameWasLola · 01/04/2009 18:51

Emmsy if it helps I've done an Educaion Act appeal (successful too I might add! ), if I can help at all I'd be more than happy to. If you send me a copy of the appeals procedure and all the bumpf the school should provide you with as part of the appeals process I'd be more than happy to draft something and send it to you if you'd like me to.

Teehee as you may gather from my message above, and the amount I'm on here atm, no my work situation hasn't picked up... Am occasionally pretty panicked about it, but probably less than I should be considering the size of our mortgage . Taking/getting silk means becoming a QC btw. HTH!

Bella love love love the colour of that top, hope you like it! And it's all ready to go for bf too! I don't remember the top you tried at JJMB being too big on the boobs, I guess in my normal life (pre my new comedy boobs) I was always used to tops being relatively loose over the boob area! If you're worried about that though you might like their wrap around tops cos you can adjust them over the bust as tight or as loose as you like Hope your cold's getting better.

Ei glad to hear you're making good use of your DH Grrr at the stupid hospital for you though Hope they sort themselves out pronto!

Sparkly glad things are a little better today. I still think it's going to be ok When's your next appointment, who with and what for?

Georgie you lucky girl going away on friday! Shall we sort out a date for the london meet up before you go? We can worry about exact location later. I can do any satuday in June, you're the one moving house, and you'll be the most heavily pg one there too! So you choose what suits you best.

Cricri can't wait to meet Elise!! Mibbes maybe this would be a good opportunity for Evan's first trip in an aeroplane?!? Teehee really don't understand why you think you might not be able to make it - how hard can it be?!? Hope you haven't over done it with your busy day.

I met a girl I work with for lunch today, together with her little boy who was due at the same time I would have been for my fist pg. She bought me the most amazing present, a beautiful HUGE box full of lovely things, Sanctuary shower oil, stretch mark oil and bath soak, a really good baby names book, The Yummy Mummy Survival Guide, a gorgeous cardigan/jacket 0-3 months from Next, some UNBELIEVABLY cute scratch mits, a pack of coloured muslins, some zinc and castor oil cream and a jar of Hipp organic baby food!!! How spolit am I?!?! Can't quite believe it! And I didn't so much as send her a card when her son was born - it was only a few weeks after Thomas was born and I was NOT in 'A Good Place'... Know she understands though.

Love to all, back later xx

SparklyPseudonym · 01/04/2009 19:07

Kate How fantastic - does she need anymore friends ? No idea when my next appointment is so nothing to countdown at the moment. Guess it will be to book in with MW but not sure when as we're away Fri-Fri.

SparklyPseudonym · 01/04/2009 19:08

HTGG Totally missed your post. I'll join you in sniffing the wine! Have a fantastic holiday and do lots of relaxing.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 01/04/2009 20:06

Lola If I had to choose, then I'd say the 20th might be better. We're due to move on 15th, so might be slightly less stressed than if we met on 13th and I knew I'd got boxes to pack .

But, that said, if people can only do 13th, then DH will have to cope without me for a couple of hours!

Let's just hope that Tedwood behaves and doesn't decide to put in an early appearance , otherwise you lot might be visiting me in hospital!

OP posts:
Molliemooma · 01/04/2009 20:09

My you lot have talked lots since I was last on
Sparkly I'm so glad to see all the girls telling you not to worry too, hope you feel a little better now things have slowed down, don't forget to enjoy yourself on your holiday! I will give you my symptoms at the bottom of this post, just for you
PiperPeopleCarrier How are you feeling now, is MS any better?
Lola Can't believe you may know the flavour by this time next week, and halfway there, surely that must be a huge hurdle
Fruity Ouch - lovebite, oohhh
Emmsy Sorry to hear you couldn't get Ian into the same school as the others, I hope you take Lola up on her offer, don't just accept it fight!
EI Glad to hear you are still wearing out DP! Go girl Hopefully you won't need the HSG after all, stupid hospital

Not posted much this week as had a huge migraine started Sunday and still hanging about today, was off work Monday as still couldn't see properly Took some nurofen on Sunday morning then felt incredibly guilty all day as I forgot I was on the 2WW how stupid am I! Anyway my body is being quite cruel this month, just for Sparkly here is my list and some logical explanations

SYMPTOM LOGICAL EXPLANATION

Sore (.)(.) Cold weather?Starving hungry Cold Weather
Feeling nausous Eaten too much & migraine
Tired Lazy
Creamy CM (TMI alert) Can't think of one!

AF due Weds, I WILL NOT test before then, so if I get tempted please shout at me girls! Although I might not confess

apologies for absence but had the worst migraine ever, started Sunday and is still hanging around

Molliemooma · 01/04/2009 20:11

I think I must have inserted text somewhere so apologies for the last line repeat

Forgot to say I won't be able to make a meet up I'm afraid

HerNameWasLola · 01/04/2009 21:28

Mollie so really no symptoms to speak of then?!? Sorry to hear about the migraine, but I really wouldn't worry about the neurofen, the first weekend of my 2ww this time I was pretty much drunk from saturday afternoon to sunday evening! Sorry you can't make the meet up, but do realise it isn't exactly local for you! Keep us posted with the symptom spotting! (posted? geddit?? ) xx

Georgie 20th June is fine for me, how about everyone else? 20th June Ladies??
I would absolutely love to come and visit you and Tedwood in hospital btw, so please don't keep your legs crossed on my account!

Sparkly why don't you see if you can book in with your mw either in person or over the phone before you go away if you explain the circumstances? Would hate to see you have to wait til 15 weeks for your 12 week scan...

What's everyone else up to tonight? I spent a little time indulging in one of my favourite past times earlier, teasing my mother about one of our favourite girls names She's really not into 'unusual' names, and since I told her it isn't in most name books she's on tenterhooks! Bad daughter...

Emmsy1 · 01/04/2009 21:30

Thanks girls, you really are a good bunch!
I have sent an email to my MP (Stephen Hesford) asking him for his support, have also asked for Appeal papers to be sent to me.
Kate I Managed to write a quick appeal letter, while I wait for the 'proper' papers to come though, could you please have a look and possibly offer me any advice? I will need your email address, thank you so much X
Trying to avoid the papers at this stage, was in 3 different papers last time I contacted them, it was when I along with some other parents tried to stop the council from closing down 'our' previous school.(to no avail may I add!) My 2 oldest children went through hell, they had to resettle and make new friends, can't believe the council are expecting them to have to move again! I found out today that 4 places were taken up by in zone parents who picked our school as 2nd place, they have no siblings at the school. 6 parents with siblings already at the school were turned down! Education have told me that I am next on the list that doesn't make it any easier at the moment. I'm a little worried that the other in zone (late applications) will be put in front of me, when they are sorted out. The teachers and the head are very annoyed with the whole situation.

HappyandEiknowit · 01/04/2009 22:21

hi ladies
emmsy sorry about the whole school situation! i a definitely not looking forward to the process with DD as im pretty sure she will be at the back of a long queue for the school attatched to the nursery she is attending at the mo!! they told me when i asked it is children under the care of the state at the front, asylum seekers children, children with siblings at the school in area and out, in area without siblings, all other children!! we are in the last category so no chance i think!! it is ridiculous that there is so much competition!! other people should be more considerate not me obviously lol just kiddin!!
sparkly hope you are ok
mollie looks as if you will be turfing yourself off into the BFP area and leaving me sat on the bench singing "allll byyyy myyyssseeeeeeelllfff!!" sounds promising
georgie have a lovely holiday
hi to lola bella teehee (any news) fruity piper and anyone else lurking or otherwise
still using and abusing DH and also making good use of the pre-seed!! not OVed yet though so its most likely all for nowt as usual
xx ei xx

SparklyPseudonym · 02/04/2009 08:39

Morning ladies,
Ei I haven't even thought about schools for DD yet. I don't think we'll keep her in private education but we might have to if the local schools are full - argh!!!!
Emmsy Am glad you're taking action. Fingers crossed for best result.
Lola The MW doesn't work in my surgery until Friday so won't be able to to anything until she has collected my booking in form. I've left my mobile number for her. Am going to push to be fitted in at 12 weeks.
Mollie Sore (.)(.)s was my first symptom this time from about 8dpo. I also felt like I had acid reflux in the throat - not felt this since. Am keeping all crossed for you. It would make my year to be sending you 20 reassurance and positive texts a day.

Am going to locate my diary today to hopefully mark in meet up.

Fruity Hope J is behaving and that you're taking it easy.
Piper Where are you hiding twinnycarrier?

BellaHarry · 02/04/2009 12:09

Ei Stay positive! positive for a positive

Emmsy good luck with the appeal process, it really does work! And every year in the first term schools lose loads of kids who just change schools so you might get DS in later in the term if not in sept.

Mollie sorry your unwell, sounds crap. I was very poorly (headache etc) three days before I discovered I was pg!! Good luck x

Sparkly they didn't find any reason for my bleed but said it might be 'break through' bleeding although I don't think so as that would have been the week before Anyway, they will def scan you no questions asked at the early pg assessment unit as they do it as standard if you have a bleed! Might put mind at ease? I'm sure it's nothing like it was for me.

Hello to everyone else! oh and I'm really lost as to when and where we are meeting?? xx

SparklyPseudonym · 02/04/2009 12:15

Bella Referral in Cardiff is very different to London. With my last m/c at 10 weeks the GP refused to send me to EPU so we had to pay to go private. Unfortunately, it's near impossible to get scanned at the local EPU, especially because they know I was only scanned privately on Monday. DOH!
