Had my family over today; mum and little sis (12) were poking little 'Immie' and she was wiggling around! It's amazing how much mum was able to actually tell me what bits where what i.e this is her back, head etc! I had not idea I'd be able to even tell where she was laying but I can now! (thanks mum)!

I'm looking for a magenta pink top to wear with an A line satin skirt that's dark purple with big magenta flowers; have found thisone but I'm not keen on jjmb sizing, does anyone have any better ideas?

Hope you have had a good weekend? Been extremely quiet in here today which I hope means you have

scully · 30/03/2009 01:14

Hiya, I'm here, have been reading but too lazy to post last week
Big congrats to Piper, how wonderful for you Hope the m/s improves soon for you.
Good that Nemo has recovered Lola. Sounds like you can't live in denial anymore, it's time to start preparing for the baby Mind you, I only starting accepting the reality of the pregnancy after my 20wk scan, so I understand what you are saying What car are you buying?
We might look at a new car next year. dd1 is moving to a booster seat without a back, so we will then be able to fit 3 different stages of car seats in our backseat, although eventually we would like a 7 seater to fit friends in as well, just makes life easier.
Newborn baby seats are different here, the UK ones aren't legal here and can't be used so I didn't bother bring it with me. Good thing is that the ambulance service here has a hire service for newborn capsules, and they fit them into the car properly as well, for $67 for 6mths, one less thing to buy
Wow Teehee, you are so close now, how exciting Enjoy your lie ins and time to yourself in the next week or 2, you'll be sleep deprived before you know it
Georgie, you must be nice and round like me right now Just in the last couple of weeks I have noticed it harder to get off the sofa or out of the car. Not that I'm complaining, this will be my last pregnancy so I am trying to enjoy it as much as possible.
FB is driving me batty at the moment, I have so much trouble adding comments to other people's walls or photos or even when I click on a friend's name or photo is doesn't take me to their page most of the time, very irritating. Ever since they changed things again the other week, I thought it was because Java and Flash needed updating but that hasn't helped either
Hi to everyone else, enjoy your week

cricri · 30/03/2009 07:51

Morning ladies, hope you all had good weekends.
Scully Good to see you and glad everything is OK with you. At least the weather should be slightly cooler as you approach your final weeks of pg I was interested to read that newborn UK car seats aren't legal in Australia - even the MaxiCosi ones which are used all over Europe? I was hoping we could keep Elise in hers as long as possible but she's so long that her head is going to reach the top of the seat by 9 months at this rate!
There's a campaign atm to get the old FB back - let's hope it works because I agree it's a real pain!
Piper Are your twins identical or not, or have you not been told? Two of my best friends are twins
Lola So glad that Nemo is better.
Bella Glad that little Bella is on the mend too - it's been a bad week for pets hasn't it?! No more sick or injured animals now please. Hope you find a nice top to wear - just had a look on the M&P website for you but they don't have anything in the colour you want.
I need to look for a nice bf dress for a christening at the end of May - anybody have any ideas?
Emmsy Lovely to hear from you and pleased little Amy is doing well. Are you weaning yet? I'm going to hold on until 26 weeks (another 5 to go - yikes!) as DH suffers from hayfever and guidelines say to wait if there's a history of allergies in the family. Glad your scan went OK and fingers crossed the results are fine this week.
Mibbes Lovely to "see" you too and glad you had a special mother's day
I'm very envious of all you ladies with expanding boobs - mine are still only a B cup even with bf!
Sparkly How are you? Booked your scan yet?
Teehee I also can't believe you've got just 2 weeks to go! Enjoy these last few days of peace
Fruity I hope you don't end up with a velcro baby like mine who refuses to sleep anywhere on her own - are you co-sleeping at night? Elise was OK for the first month at going to sleep in her Amby nest at night and then that was it, she's been in bed with us ever since and sleeps in a sling during the day. The Amby nest was a complete waste of money, although we are now using the frame at least as they do a baby bouncer to attach to it and I bought that.
She's just woken up so must go - hi to everybody else

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 30/03/2009 10:20

Morning. Bloody hell, you lot have been busy. I leave you alone for the weekend and all hell breaks loose .

Kate and I have been texting to try and get another London/SW meet up before I pop and everyone gets too big! So, if anyone is interested was wondering how w/e of 29th May sounds? Fruity, Bella you around? And of course, anyone else more than welcome too.

Lola Very, very pleased that Nemo is on the mend. Have you test driven a Volvo XC90? It's a very grown up car and also has tons of space. We have one and it's the BEST car I've ever owned; easy to drive, easy to park, not too bad on fuel (we have 2.6 disel). Prices are dropping like stones and you can pick up a relatively new one for £14k.

Bella Hope little Bella is perkier today. Have you tried H&M; their regular range? I got some really lovely tops in their (size 14) that a great for pg. Am sure I've seen magenta colour tops in there recently. And that clip from YouTube was GROSS!!!!! Really made me feel queasy. Which is stupid cos my tummy will look like that in 2 months time!

Fruity Make the most of DP whilst he's home. Hope the lovely Jack (and equally lovely DS1) are behaving themselves. Let me know if you want to meet up anyime soon.

Scully. Hello! Glad to hear that it's not just me that feels 'large'. I still can't beleive that I've got just over 3 months to go. Do you feel that this pg has gone on for ever? Know what you mean about trying to 'enjoy' it as it WILL be the last time I'm EVER pg, but got to be honest, am counting down the days! How are the DD's? My DD's are finding my expanding tummy hilarious. Lots of shouting into it and watching Tedwood kick around.

Emmsy Fingers crossed for your results. Seems slightly unfair that you've had to put up with it all, then wait another week to see if there's anything they can diagnose. Hopefully they can start treating whatever it is soon and you can start feeling better.

Mollie I cannot beleive your work are being so ridiculous. Just seems crazy that they are making you jump through hoops. I honestly believe that everyone is so phobic about making any type of decision these days. Pure madness. I'm afraid I've been out of the workplace too long to give you any good advice. Maybe a good old fashioned strop might work? .

Ei You still with us love?. Or have your w/e activities knackered you out?!?!?

Mibbes Poor Evan. Actually, poor you. Bet you were frantic with worry. And I'm and at the F cups. Mine have gone up to DD from a C cup and they are PLENTY big enough!

Sparkly How's things with you? All calm I hope.

TeeHee I'm going to be the first to say.... any news?! You'll be sick of me by the time you give birth!!!!

PiperPeopleCarrier - Hope the after effects of the drip still working for you. Little and often love on the food front.

I've uploaded some more pics onto my profile if anyone wants to have a nosey.

OP posts:
BellaHarry · 30/03/2009 12:04

Georgie I should be able to do the 29th May. Thanks for the H&M tip, I'll try to pop in to Wimbledon!

Cricri interesting about the baby seats, I think they should always be fitted properly I'm thinking of getting the clip fixy thing for my Maxi Cosi.

Quite looking forward to the prospect of another meet! News here is that my belly button has popped out! hee hee quite gross I suppose as I still have my maternity belly bar in which just looks silly! oh well x

SparklyPseudonym · 30/03/2009 12:11

Have just been to see the doctor who gave me my pregnancy notes and am now waiting to hear from the midwife. We are away Friday-Friday so not sure when I'll see her to be booked in.
We have a scan booked for 7.20 tonight. Am very nervous - still no symptoms argh but want to know is all well/not before going away.
HTGG Lovely new piccies. The girls are gorgeous. Everything calm here except scan nerves.
Cricri Was going to ask you (eventually) about your Amby Nest. Don't think I'll get one (if I get that far!)
Scully Do you use Mozilla Firefox or internet explorer?
Bella Am glad Bella is better.
Emmsy Glad the appointment went well. Let us know as soon as you get the results.
Teehee Can you believe it's almost April...Will baby be here before we start a new thread? At least the pram is ready to go - I remember pushing our pram around the house...
Lola I did it - are you proud? Any news on the car front? Hope Nemo is back to normal.
Mollie I'd love you to come to Cardiff although not to kick my arse . How is the 2WW treating you? Are you symptom spotting?
Ei I'm sure he enjoyed the abuse .
Fruity How are you feeling? How is little J?
Mibbes That must have been a nightmare! at the hospital...you'd know if the blood was coming from your boobs. I hate the way they undermine people. So glad Evan is better.

cricri · 30/03/2009 13:32

Ooh, another meet-up - I'd love to come along at the end of May and see Georgie and Lola before they pop! Can I bring Elise along to meet you all? Any chance of Sparkly, Mollie or anyone else coming to join us?
Sparkly Fingers crossed for tonight but I'm sure everything is fine Where are you off to on Friday (apologies if you've already mentioned this - baby brain!) The Amby nest is great, honestly, it's just that I happen to have the one and only child who didn't take to it and that's just because she wants to be near me all the time. For the first month she was quite happy in it.
I was interrupted during my last post so I'll continue!
Mollie Sorry to hear about the latest news from work. But an 18 month contract at the higher grade will look good on your CV if nothing else, and as Teehee said, you'll have had a baby by then and won't care! How is your DH? Begging for mercy yet How about yours Ei? Mibbes I didn't get chance to say how pleased I am little Evan has recovered. Must have been very scary for you and at the hospital being so rubbish.
Georgie We're also thinking of getting a new car and the Volvo is on the list. Just need DH to organise test drives - you'd think that's the one thing he'd be keen to do!
Bella The base for the Maxicosi is fab, it makes life so much easier. Does your car have the ISOFIX points? If it doesn't then you can get an Easifix base which does the same job and just uses the seat belt.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 30/03/2009 14:51

Hooray. Glad there's so many of you that can meet up. And Cricri, of course you can bring the lovely Elise. Am dying to see her and have a cuddle of course.

Now we've got to decide where the easiest place is to meet.

Somewhere round M25? Or Wimbledon? Or central London? I can get to wherever we decide. And there's room in the car if anyone needs a lift.

Oh, and it's offical. I've started nesting. Which is really stupid as its not my house and therefore a complete waste of time. Doh! Cleared out airing cupboard, re-arranged kitchen and cleaned out cupboards and started on cupboard underneath the stairs. DH thinks I'm certifiable .

OP posts:
SparklyPseudonym · 30/03/2009 15:00

I'd love to make the meet up. No work commitments after May 22nd - is that half term? I'll prob bring DD and stay with friends for a couple of days . If it's warm, we could do a picnic in Hyde Park or something like that.

cricri · 30/03/2009 15:57

Sparkly It would be great if you could make it too A picnic sounds lovely - anywhere in or around London is good for me, although I have a slight preference for somewhere I can drive to if at all possible. Haven't attempted public transport with Elise yet! Also, I've just checked my diary and I can only do Saturday 30th as we have a naming day to go to on the Sunday.
Georgie Can you come and do some nesting at my house too whilst you're at it I've got a whole list of things that need doing and I just never seem to get the time to do them these days!

BellaHarry · 30/03/2009 18:44

Cricri that sounds interesting, I have a Renault Scenic do they have these isofix points?? Also re the meet I too prefer to drive places so central London is not great for that.

So who is coming then? How lovely, I'll be well fat by then lol

SparklyPseudonym · 30/03/2009 21:02

Hello .
Back from scan and all was fine. He did 4D for us and I couldn't believe how clear it was. We saw baby moving its arms and legs. Measuring 2414mm and heartrate 181. Am apparently 9 weeks today (I thought I was 9+2) but he said not to worry because scans can be up to 5 days out. Will have to take photos of my photos to upload

FruitynNutty · 31/03/2009 09:30

Morning ladies.
Sparkly That's fab news about the scan! I can't wait to see your picture In fact I'm going to google image 3d scan at 9 weeks right now....... Awwww that is soooo cuuuuuute! Of course yours will be cuter

Georgie I need some serious nesting at my house! My hoover has broken and I'm struggling to get around on my hands and knees with the dustpan and brush - especially with a nice big wound in the belly!

Bella I'm so pleased Bella is getting better Liking the top btw!

Yes I'm definitely up for the meet up! Anytime as long as it's not the 22nd May and please can it be a weekend?

My little bundle of joy has given me a great big love bite on my nipple [ouch] It was when he was feeding last night and I couldn't see what I was doing so he was obviously latched on wrong. No wonder it hurt so much!
I can't believe DP is back to work tomorrow! How the hell am I going to have a shower and stuff? I'm going to have to leave Jack crying Ah well, he'll just have to get used to it

Emmsy1 · 31/03/2009 09:47

Hi ladies, still no news from doc or education, just a horrid waiting game this weeK!

sparkly fantastic news about your scan, can't wait to see your pictures! X

cricri I have tried Amy on a few foods, but she's not very impressed!Amy seems to prefer her bottle at the moment. The only thing that she likes is chocolate pudding she nearly sucks the spoon in, when she's eating it! I'm not in a rush to get her to try too many foods at the moment, it's so much easier giving her a bottle.(didn't really want her addicted to chocolate at such an early age)X

SparklyPseudonym · 31/03/2009 09:54

I think my profile is set up - can someone check? 4D pic isn't clear so you might have to realy squint!! The photo doesn't do the scan justice at all.
Emmsy Everyone loves a bit of chocolate pudding . Hope education authority and doctor get back to you soon.
Fruity I hope you're taking it easy missy!! Do you use a nightlight when you feed?

SparklyPseudonym · 31/03/2009 09:54

It's not giving me that yellow profile sign but I can still open my profile?

HerNameWasLola · 31/03/2009 10:43

Sparkly YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYY!!!! Told you! Now hopefully you can enjoy your holiday, at least a little bit I can see your photos, but the 4d one is a little tricky to make out! The 2D one is definitely baby shaped though! Less than a week til our next scan... I can't believe that this time next week I might know the sex of this baby! And then a week later I should be half way there!! HOW exciting!

Georgie JUNE!! JUNE!! I said JUNE!! I can't do any weekend in May I know you're hopefully moving in June, so is the last weekend in May the latest you can do? How about 6th June? But don't want to change it if everyone would rather do May ()

Bella what issue have you had with JJMB sizing? The top you posted a picture of is the same as the one you tried on in the shop in the vest version, didn't that fit ok? I have been ok with the sizes I ordered, tops in a small, jeans in a 10 and skirt in an 8, I think we're pretty similar size? Pre pg anyway! The tops have plenty of growing room, the wrap ones are great as you can tie them differently as you get bigger, and the small is ok even over my massive boobs so I would have thought you'd be ok! Not sure how you define Magenta? The 2 tops I have closest to that from JJMB are this one in beaujolais which is a GORGEOUS colour, or this one in fuchsia. HTH!

Fruity hope your love bit is recovering ok!

Well, we got the car! Wasn't too bad in the end, though we can't actually drive it til tomorrow as the tax starts 1st April. It's a beast, an Audi A6 estate, if any of you are interested it's the 3rd one down on this list It's absolutely immaculate, and we feel like we got a lot of car for our money. We part exchanged my gorgeous alfa 147 () (black, tan leather... ) But I definitely think it was the right thing to do. Fingers crossed! We didn't look at any 4x4s Georgie, but I have heard good things about the XC90, think it would have been a bit outside our budget for now though

Nemo seems to be on the mend, though one of his stitches seems to have come undone so I'd probably better go and call the vest now.... Thank you for thinking of him!

Hello to everyone else!

teeheelaydee · 31/03/2009 13:53

Good Afternoon lovely ladies, hope you are all well. Need to ensure I'm not a slacker in the posting department as don't want you all to think things are happening when in fact I am just stuffing my face and watching tele!

Sparkly Yey - has DP put a stop to additional scans yet? Your next one will be the 12 week one? Where are you off to next week? DP and I are trying to think of some stuff to do that doesn't take us too far from home, otherwise we will spend the whole Easter holidays waiting for baby!

Fruity Take it easy - crawling around on your hands and knees - honestly woman you're not trying to get Jack to turn now you know. I'll put some links at the bottom of the post for you and Cricri for bf clothes. I too am at a Christening at the end of may so will need a dress that is mega discreet. Hope they work

Lola Love the new car- I just picked mine up from the garage after it had a some bodywork fixed. They had it 3 weeks - it looks lovely but feels HUGE as the courtesy car was a teeny tiny thing. You'll soon get used to it I'm sure. Glad Nemo on the mend. Been meaning to ask you - have got into Kavannagh QC (oh my glamorous life!) What is 'taking/getting silks'? Has work picked up at all or are you not caring anymore as just dreaming of babies!

Bella Love the Beaujolais top - if the colour works, the too magenta ones are nice too though. Blooming Marvellous seem to have a permanent sale at the moment so it might be worth a look.

Georgie Tell DH that he should enjoy your nesting now as soon the urge to nest won't disappear but your ability to move around too much will and you will be forced to simply sit and point at what you want done/moved and HE will be doing it.

Emmsy She is a girl so a chocolate addiction is kind of inevitable! Sure you'll find some other tempting things for her when she is a bit more interested.

In regards to a meet up I also can't do the last 2 w/e's in May. But honestly it might be a bit too soon for me anyway so don't rearrange on my account. Will be gutted if can't come but will have to decide nearer the time I think and will depend on when and where (and if I'm surviving the bf and babyness in general)

We are off for a curry with the rest of the NCT group tonight, hope it doesn't kick anything off as don't know how to use car seat yet!xx

SparklyPseudonym · 31/03/2009 16:17

We're going to have to compile a list of free dates for everyone. I can do any day after 22nd May (except the day I see Take That but can't remember the date!).

Teehee Have a play with the car seat...trust me, there is nothing worse than trying to figure out how to use equipment when you're tired and baby is here. Nice mild curry for you tonight . DP has banned anymore scans (not really, he's quite soft) but am determined to wait until 12 weeks. I think my scan will be a lot later than this as I'm still not booked in with midwife.
Lola I can't wait to know your flavour! I think you're going to have a girl so we balance things out. You are going to be fine.

cricri · 31/03/2009 16:32

Sparkly So pleased about your scan result and the pictures look great Hope you're reassured and can relax a bit until the next one.
Meet-up I can do any w/e in June at the moment - just let me know when!
Bella If you look on the Maxicosi website there is a list of cars which have Isofix points here Newer cars tend to have them as standard - ours is 8 years old and didn't have them unfortunately but the Easybase is just as good.
Teehee One of my NCT friends went out for a curry towards the end of her pregnancy and went into labour that night You forgot to post the link to the bf clothes - I'm dying to see them! I second what Sparkly said about the car seat, definitely play around with it now. It's tricky at first but soon becomes second nature.
Emmsy Amy is a true girl Love the fact that she likes chocolate pudding!
Well I started weaning Elise today Just a couple of dollops of baby rice but she seemed quite happy. I can't wait to start her on different types of fruit and vegetable purees. DH is the cook in this house so he's going to be busy And it's probably a coincidence but velcro baby has been asleep, in her car seat, since we got back from swimming an hour and a half ago Must be a combination of being exhausted and perhaps having a fuller tummy than normal because she never normally sleeps this long on her own. As you can see, I'm putting this free time to good use MNetting!
Hope everybody else is OK.

SparklyPseudonym · 31/03/2009 18:20

Just as I start to relax I've had a very small amount of brown discharge . Why, oh why can't it just be easy?
Cricri Did you take lots of piccies of her mucky face? Weaning is sich messy business .

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 31/03/2009 18:22

Lola Buggery bollocks. Sorry love. My fault.

MeetUp - Can everyone do 13/14 or 20/21 June? I'm going to be rather big and bad tempered by then, but it's my birthday weekend (on 16th June) and it'd be great to see you all for some ice cream . We're due to move back on 15th June (fingers crossed) so it'd be a nice diversion from packing boxes!

Also, would it be easier to try and meet somehwere that we can drive to, rather than public transport? Just wondering about Sparkly getting to where ever we decide upon as think she might be car-less? I can pick you up from somewhere if you like. or maybe Fruity or Bella can do the honours.

What type of thing does everyone want to do? Picnic in a park type thing or lunch and a walk?

OP posts:
teeheelaydee · 31/03/2009 18:24

As soon as I saw that you were the last person to post Cricri I knew I hadn't posted the links!! Duh!

Sparkly I have been getting really panicky about not being able to get car seat in - so will be practising tomorrow - probably wait til DP is home though as will get all stroppy if can't work it out straight away.

Wouldn't Lola need a boy to even things out as Georgie and Bella are both growing pink flavoured babies. I would also need a boy I think. Mind you our NCT teacher was saying that the previous group - all 8 had girls - freaky!

Right links! here here and a bit pricier here

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 31/03/2009 18:30

Sparkly Just about to write that I'm glad the scan went well.... however, something just popped into my mind. Was it an internal scan? If so, then the probe could have just grazed your cervix and made it bleed a tiny amount. I do remember getting brown discharge after a couple of internal scans. Is DH home? Can you just put your feet up for a couple of hours and rest? The chances are that everything is fine. But I know that your mind can play horrible games.

Cricri I can't beleive that Elise is old enough to be weaned. . Just wait til she starts throwing Petit Filous around the kitchen!!! Bless her. Hope she has a good appetite.

Lola V good choice on the Audi. They are brilliant cars. V reliable and lovely to drive. Can you tell I'm a Top Gear fan? .

Bugger. Have to go and bath the kids. Back later if I have the energy.

Oh, and we're off to Cyprus early on Friday, back 10th April so won't be logging on. Can't bloody wait. Just looking forward to feeling some warm sun on my face. And wondering whether locals will try and harpoon big, white, whale-like Brit woman on the beach . xxxxx

OP posts:
SparklyPseudonym · 31/03/2009 18:35

HTGG Scan was abdominal yday - last internal scan was 11 days a go.

DP is telling me that it would be too early to spot if i was m/cing because baby was fine last night. I hope he's right.
