Evening ladies, have had a quick catch up..

piper OMG congrats - LOL at "piper people carrier", I remember that from several months ago !! How exciting having twins - I had NCT friends round today and we have a set of twins, they are gorgeous

Fruity how in the name of the wee man are you managing to post so often when Jack is such a newbie ! You are a star and it sounds as if you are doing fabulously well

Lola I really hope nemo is ok. Big hugs for upcoming anniversaries xx Have you felt any more flutterings ?

Mollie that was soo sweet of your DH to remember you on Mother's day, he is so right that you deserve to be spoiled too xx

teehee how many weeks/days to go ?...

Sparkly how are you my dear ? Hope you are feeling all fat and preggy !

Oh and top tip for BFing from me is to buy stretchy vest tops (I got really good loose ones from New Look) and wear a jumper/top - my cunning plan is that I pull the vest down, pull jumper up and detach bra strap then I can get boob out with minimal flasing of flesh . I have quite ample boobies at the best of times so I found those BFing tops barely had enough space for my Jordan-like knockers to squeeze out which meant they got squished. If any of you preggos or mummies want my vest tops and t-shirt (from Mothercare and Blooming Marvellous) let me know and I'll pass them on - you'd need to be a size 12 with average/small boobs pre-preg. I think I am a F-cup now so if you are less than that they should fit.

We had drama here earlier in the week as DS was vomitting blood . After an overnight stay in hospital and blood tests they concluded that the blood came from me while BFing which is quite frankly a cop out as there is no way that is where it came from - I checked mid-feed several times and there was no sign of blood and my nips are not cracked. I was really annoyed that they ignored me when I refused to believe them but we are several days on now and he seems fine so hopefully whatever it was has passed - he did have a bad cold so maybe that is to blame. Oohh the worry of being a mummy !

Oh and had a lovely 1st Mother's day - DP brought me breakfast in bed, then DS gave me a card and a diamond necklace (which I have since swapped for a Links of London chain as I have a diamond necklace already) and then we had the M&S roast for 4 between 2 of us - YUM !!

mibbes · 27/03/2009 20:59

Oh FFS I knew that's happen - serves me right for being to impatient and click-clicking !

BTW the BF vests were worn once and I never wore the t-shirt so they are as new.

Emmsy1 · 28/03/2009 06:53

Kate I really hope your Nemo is Ok hun? XXX

Mibbes I'm sure that the blood was probably from Evan's cold, poor little thing, at least the hospital have given him a thorough check over, still it must have been really scary for you, give him a big cuddle from me,tell you what, you can have was too!{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUG}}}}}}}}}}}} XX

cricri lovely to see Elise is doing so well! They grow so very quickly don't they. Amy can't sit up on her own yet, I'm sure it's just a matter of time though! She is very strong for her size, when she get's a paddy on,she throws her head back, I have to hold her tight or she would do some serious harm. Think she is going to be a bossy little madam? Do you pop on facebook often? I was invited to play Pathwords back in Feb, it's very addictive! Problem with FB is that you end up getting requests from people you don't really like, I have allowed a girl to be a friend, but wish I hadn't now, she's vile! Had another request the other day from someone else I don't like, this time I ignored the request, going to be strong in future and ignore nasty people! Take care cricri XX

sparkly thanks for the text yesterday, lovely message on FB by the way! Please stop worrying and try to enjoy this pregnancy, I know it will be easier for you once you get past 12 wks, not too long to wait now hunXX

Piper can't believe it lady! Twins! GASP!! A big congratulations to you! That is the best news I have heard this week, give yourself a pat on the back! X
Sorry the sickness has been severe, make sure you have plenty of fluids, I'm sure that there's something the doc can prescribe for you, try and get plenty of rest as the sickness will drain you, hope you don't end up in and out of hospital too much XX
(What's your real name on FB is it Deb Cline?)

Mollie hi hun, great news about your promotion! Hope you and your DH aren't too worn out Are you Emily Davidson on FB?

Fruity Glad you and Jack are doing well.(DP could do with a swift kick up the backside)As long as there's plenty of wet nappies things should be fine!
When Amy was a few days old she went a little jaundiced, I was told to wake her up every 3 hours to feed her, I needed to flush it out! She lost a little weight when she was first weighed at home, and she was on formula!, but she soon started to pile the weight on, the top of her legs are now a little chubby They look a little like mine!! Sure she will even out a little when she start's to get taller!
(actually, think I could do with being stretched a little to help my weight 'even'out!)

Hello to THLD (not long now! and HTGG hope the rest of your pregnancy is a little easier X
Bella hello to you too!

bet I've missed someone?

Have to feed Amy now, she's started to wail!

I'm off to the hospital this morning, 9.45am for my upper abdominal scan, not allowed to eat anything! could murder a cup of tea, have been up since 4.45am probably a little nervous!, not of scan, but of possibly having to take my underwear off have horrible scars under boobs(from reduction, years ago!) And a horrible jelly belly! have a lovely weekend girls!
p.s fruit see you on FB later! X

BellaHarry · 28/03/2009 09:12

OMG!!!! That is fantastic news to wake up to!!! Well done Piper I'm sorry you've been sick though how did they break the news of twins to you?? I've always wondered how they'd do it?? Get well soon and again congratulations!!!!!!! xxx

BellaHarry · 28/03/2009 09:18

Hi to you too Emmsy hope the apt went ok?

Mibbes what a worry! glad things are looking better now.

FruitynNutty · 28/03/2009 09:36

Morning everyone

Well I caved and bought Jack a dummy, unfortunately his Lordship doesn't want it! Just happy to use me as a dummy so another night of him being plugged into me! Ah, well, was worth a try. I'm quite pleased he doesn't want it actually - in fact he's asleep right now IN HIS BED! But why oh why doesn't he want to sleep in it at night?

Piper How's the news sinking in?

Emmsy I bet Amy's legs are delicious! I can't wait for Jack to fill his skin and get chubby! He hasn't even got a bum! His skin sort of hangs off his skin, bless him. I'm so not used to having such a titch. DS had a good squidgy bum from the moment he was born!
Good luck at the hospital! I'm sure you look fine and I'm positive they've seen a hell of a lot worse! Let us know how it goes xx

Haha Mibbes You've got me, I didn't really have a baby. Just had terrible wind
What a lovely Mother's day pressie you got I'm pleased Evan is getting better, must have been terribly scary to see the blood

I'm off to Wimbledon in a bit, I'm feeling almost normal now - except from the tiredness which isn't that bad.....yet!
DP has taken DS1 to gymnastics then he's taking him swimming. It's really nice because they're getting some lovely bonding time together. DP's back to work on Weds though, not sue how I'll manage the two of them on my own

HappyandEiknowit · 28/03/2009 09:41

hi ladies
emmsy hey!! long time no speak!! you missed me off btw
lola how is nemo doing?? hope all is well and he is recovering without a big rubber ball in his belly!!
sparkly hope you are ok
fruity wow you are super-mum getting online at the same time as taking care of your little DS2 i didnt log on for about 3 months after i had DD
mibbes we have booked our stirling excursion for 25th 26th 27th june!! im still up for meeting up whenever you can make it around then lol sorry your DS has been illhope he is doing ok and i would say if you are worried then ask for a second opinion but if he is ok at the minute then maybe it was one of those things caused by his cold. poor little fella xx
hope everyone else is ok on this fab saturday morning!
im off to abuse my DH see ya'll later
xx ei xx

Molliemooma · 28/03/2009 11:10

Piper What fantastic news!!! If they get too much I'll always take one off your hands Hope the sickness starts subsiding for you now.
TeeHee Scared yet?
Fruity I am so pleased that being an on demand booby cow and sleepless nights haven't halted your MN activity I am sure Jack will be piling on the weight now
Georgie Have the magic pills done the trick?
CriCri Glad to hear you enjoyed a little "me" time
EI How are you doing hun, I take it as you are abusing DH that you are OVing?
Sparkly If you don't put your Miss Negative Knickers in a drawer and put on Miss Positive Pants I will be down to Cardiff to kick your arse!!! Get your MW appt booked right now!!!
Mibbes Very scary episode with Evan, can well believe they just fobbed you off, bloody NHS! Will keep everything crossed it was just a one off, sounds like you were spoiled on Mothers Day, good job!
Emmsy Hope the scan went well and you got to keep your clothes on On FB I have the initials KS, will send you a message so you know which is me.

More bad news from work for me unfortunately, the promotion that I got was advertised as permanent but now they are looking to make it a fixed term contract for 12/18mths which means I revert back to the grade I am now and no guarantee that I'll stay where I am may have to travel 1.5hrs away So fed up of working so hard to get something I want and then having it snatched away, seems to be my life theme at the moment. Not trying to let it get me down too much, really trying to stay positive honest

Hi Emmsy lovely to "see" you! yes that is my facebook name . Hope you scan goes well this morning. Its horrible haven to fast

Bella It was funny how she told us, My DH was in with us to and when I was getting ready for the scan he was talking to the lady about our house (nervous chatter ) So during the scan she just asked "how big is your house?" I copped straight away what she meant but poor DH started telling her detailed descriptions

Mollie I will hold you to that , Sorry about your work place, they sound really pants giving you the run around

Fruity Glad Jack is settling in for you Its brill that he has taking to Bf so well. It was always my intention to BF but with 2 on the way I might reconsider

Teehee not long to go now
Lola I really hope nemo is ok
mibbes sounds like you got a nasty fright! Its awful the way they just fobbed you off
Ei Lol at abusing husband
Sparkly I agree with mollie, Time to let yourself feel more positive. You've had a successful scan and heard the heartbeat. Book that mw appointment!

Big waves to Cricri and Georgie

Dh has got our scan picture as the sceen saver on his phone and is having a great time showing everyone

teeheelaydee · 28/03/2009 12:29

Haven't had time to post properly the last couple of days - maternity leave is such a social whirlwind. Hope I remember everyone!

Emmsy Good to see you - hope your appointment goes well today, how long do you have to wait for the results.

Fruity You seem to be doing a marvellous job but the constant feeding must be a real drain, glad to hear you are out and about. I've been doing some searching for breastfeeding clothes as well and there is quite a few good websites, some of it is a bit pricey though but I am planning a combination of normal and bf clothes I think. Can't believe your DP is due back at work already - 2 weeks has really flown by.

Mollie Hope the fact that you haven't been around much this week is because you have been busy with DH Try not to worry too much about the job - 12 months is a long time and you may only want the promotion for that long (as you will be about to have/already have had a baby by then!)

Sparkly Are you feeling any more positive today and any decisions re your £700. Talk of the pram got me all excited and I went and took all the packaging of it and set it up, even checked the changing bag would fit on it.

Mibbes OMG that must have been so scary - vomiting blood Frustrating that they fobbed you off too! It just seems the luck of the draw when it comes to healthcare. I managed to listen to your CD all the way through the other day and the cat was next to me on the bed - he has confirmed he is now ready to 'birth his baby'! What a generous son you have with your lovely mothers day pressie - totally deserved.

Bella Have you cleared South London out of all pink baby items yet? Is DP a bit more engaged with the whole thing now? He sounds it from what you've said.

Lola Poor Nemo - please give us an update - operation sounded a bit scary, was expecting you to say that they would let nature take it course! How has everything else been this week?

Big waves to Ei Cricri (thanks for the bf fashion tips and Georgie (Hope you're not throwing up still)

Well - 2 weeks to go (or maybe one or maybe 4!) We are now officially ready (as we'll ever be) and quite honestly I just want to here now safe and sound but trying to stay occupied and not wish the last couple of weeks of peace away. Occasionally a bit scared of the painful bit but I think I have just got to the stage where to end is more important than the means.

Ei how could I forget my lovely scouse mate! sorry hun, I have slapped my own wrists X

piper have only just looked at your scan photos, they brought tears to my eyes. Truly amazing! One of my DS's is a November baby, (12th) you are due in November aren't you?
Thanks for confirming your ID on FB!X

Mollie Thanks for your advice, it will definately come in handy! X

Bella thanks for asking after me X

THLD got you and Mol mixed up on facebook, now know you are Emily X
Fruity thanks hun.X
Had my appt this am, I was in & out in 10 mins!
I was very lucky, I seen others with gowns on, but I was only asked to lie down and lift my top up! didn't even have to buy new undies! Lady told me she couldn't see anything that stood out but it would be best if I wait for my results? hope I don't have to wait too long!

Made up for fast this morning had bacon, eggs and tin tomatoes when I got home and 2 lovely mugs of tea, thinking of starting another diet on monday!

I will find out if my 4 year old son will get into his primary school this week. The letters get posted on 31st March. My other 3 children are in that school but we are out of zone and I believe that more than 30 children have applied to start reception in september. Its a big worry for a few of us at the school. Have posted about this on another thread. Will try and get a link sorted for anyone who wants to read it. fruity did teach me ages ago, but with being a little on the elderly side, I tend to forget things!

can you remind me how to do it again, I will write it down this time!

BellaHarry · 28/03/2009 15:49

Piper that's brilliant! lol I bet they don't really get all that much practice at telling people!? Is it possible that your cronic pg symptoms are as a result of their being two lo's in there? Bet your belly will be huge! Saw a lady in boots today she must have been nearly ready to drop twins if not triplets and she was masive! I couldn't help staring it was wicked!! check out this link; it's best with sound www.youtube.com/watch?v=YscmusYgiIE

Teehee In actual fact I've just been to the Next sale and bought some cute little pink bits today! Keep smiling! glad you're feeling ready...count down begins eh!

HerNameWasLola · 28/03/2009 17:01

Oh my goodness... I turn my back for FIVE MINUTES!!!!

PiperPeopleCarrier! FANTASTIC NEWS!!! So thrilled for you! Am convinced twins are only given to people who can cope with them - which is maybe why you're having them and I'm not! Can't wait to see your growing bump and more of your amazing scan pics! Do you feel ready to graduate 'officially' yet? How far on are you now? About 8 weeks? Such good news!

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes for Nemo, he seems to be on the mend which is a huge relief. Had to go back to the vets yesterday and today for them to check on him and for further pain killing injections. He's not back to his old self yet, but hopefully he's on the right track. It's just amazing how quickly they deteriorate when something's really wrong Quite scary.

The only other news in the house of Lola is that circumstances seem to be pushing us in the direction of getting ready for the baby to arrive, whether we feel ready or not. First I found out that my lovely car (which would have been fine with a baby seat etc) needs about £1000 spending on it, and that's before the service which is also due! So we decided it was time to get rid, and we're in the process of buying the most ridiculously enormous, most grown up car in-the-world-ever. Gulp. But if we're going to change it we need something big enough for 2 dogs and baby and assorted crap that goes with the above! or at least I hope we do... I hate buying cars, always seems like such a hassle and I always feel I'm about to either get ripped off or encounter some other nightmare... But think we're going ok. [fingers crossed emoticon]

The other thing that's happened is that my dad has taken the double bed from our back spare room, which will hopefully become the nursery, to use in a house he's renovating (don't ask) So the 'nursery' is now looking all empty and sort of expectant... Scary stuff!

Sparkly have you booked it yet??? You'd better watch out or I'll do it for you!

Mibbes so sorry to hear you've had such a scare with Evan, but great that he seems to have bounced right back. but [sadly-not-surprised-emoticon] at the reaction from the hospital . And at your F cup boobs!! Am scared to say I think I might be headed in that direction seeing as I've gone from an A to a D already!

Speaking of scary, Bella that youtube clip is one of the scariest things I've ever seen!! Much scarier than the birth videos! Might make DH watch it later, he'll be TERRIFIED!!

Emmsy I'm glad to hear that your hospital appt went well, and that you didn't have to strip off too much How long do they think you'll have to wait for the results? Glad to hear Amy's continuing to thrive , I hope the whole primary school ordeal isn't too stressful.

Teehee 2 weeks!!! How many weeks were you when we met up in london? I think you were 11? Bet you never thought you'd be typing "2 weeks to go"! Enjoy! You deserve it!

Mollie I'm gutted to hear work's giving you the run around again. Def think the best plan is to be on mat leave before the end of your contract. So do that then. Ok? Really do believe this will all work out for you my love, one way or another, it's just shit waiting though isn't it

Ei how's your DH doing? Lucozade tablets at the ready?!? Bet he's having the time of his life!

Has anyone heard from Scully recently? I have a feeling that she may be away, but on the other hand I may have imagined that?! Hello Scully if you're out there, hope everything's ok

Fruity how was Wimbledon? So glad your DP is being helpful How long til you have mindees back? Another 2 weeks? Seeing as my work seems to have dried up completely () maybe I should come up and help you? Not sure I'd be much use though! Would probably end up you having to help me!

Big wave to CriCri so sorry I missed you! Am so impressed at you being slim enought to wear one of those bf vests, suspect I'll be much too lumpy and bumpy if I ever get that far!

BellaHarry · 28/03/2009 17:18

Lola so glad Nemo is on the mend! Seems it's my turn now, Bella (the beautiful little cat I take my name from) is poorly and not eating! Vet took a look this morning and thinks she's had an accident and hurt her spine/back! Had a £100 bill this morning and have loads of pain killers to give her; hopeing she picks up otherwise they want to x ray her fingers crossed eh!

HerNameWasLola · 28/03/2009 17:24

Bella Hope she's ok I think she's quite young which should be on her side. Fingers crossed for her.

Emmsy1 · 28/03/2009 18:57

kate really pleased Nemo is a little better! I should find out by the end of the week. x

Bella hope little bella is ok. I'm sure she'll be ok if she can walk about!
I had a nasty accident with my cat 2 yrs ago, I ran over it's back end with my peolple carrier Sammy couldn't walk, anyway the vet said they thought he looked ok? They told me they could possibly save him and they took him in over night, they then took xrays and decided to open him up, I had a phone call the next day to say they couldn't do anything and that it was better to put him to sleep while he was sedated! never got to say goodbye, he was 8 yrs old. I then had a hefty bill in the post nearly £350 and a packet of seeds as a remembrance gesture. I grieved more over my cat, than I did for any human that I have known who passed away!
I still haven't learnt my lesson, my yorkie dog has no pet insurance, I dread it every time we go to the vet!

teeheelaydee · 28/03/2009 21:23

Awww Bella Fingers crossed although I would say it sounds quite hopeful - she shouldn't get any worse and so could be on the mend. Don't know if you remember that George limped on his leg for a week and a half - vet thought it was broken, I spent a fortune of x-rays - they found nothing, gave him another pain killing injection and 2 days later he was fine and I was skint!. If she is still walking it is probably just a knock that will heal.

Lola so pleased that Nemo is on the mend and that you are having to board the baby train. I also hate buying new cars - they just don't excite me and seem like such an awful waste of money - also v/scared of being ripped off so know how you feel but you may as well do it now. Yes- I was 11 weeks - well remembered and no as I typed it this morning I thought "I can't believe I am here" Even though baby is kicking and wriggling I just cannot believe it - it's helping me feel better about labour as I just keep reminding myself what a long and painful journey this has been - labour will be a doddle

Emmsy Glad your appt was OK - hope you don't dwell on results too much, but I guess end of week is not too long to wait - yes you have ID'ed me correctly on FB

BellaHarry · 29/03/2009 10:28

teehee they are more hardy than we imagine aren't they!
emmsy what a sad story! I am very fond of my cats, we both are; fruity has seen first hand just how soppy dh is with them! I would be devasted to lose them!

Things seem a lot better with Bella this morning, I've given her the meds for the day and I think they're doing the trick, she's eating again! Luckily we do have insurance so I can claim back some of the costs!

Have a lovely day ladies! X
