Hi All, have been on a couple of ttc hreads but due to sad arrival of af yesterday and x2 negative pg testa thought I'd start a September one.

We are ttc#2 we already have dd(2) and had a mc in September this will be cycle 3 since mc.

Mc hit me hard, more so than other adverse life events for some reason also head full of other stuff such as trying to complete a Post grad Diploma in Cognitive Therapy!!

Anyway want to try to be optimistic and hopeful and not (too!) obsessive this month!

Anyone else fancy joining?? xx

Well, all that BDing seems to have given me a touch of cystitis, which is only mildly annoying (actually, it makes me feel about 15 years younger!). I'm on CD18 of a usually 27/8 -day cycle, managed to BD on CD11, CD13, CD16, and CD17. No opks, no temping, was determined to be casual about this but am now driving myself MENTAL wondering if it happened, and kicking myself for not just biting the bullet and tracking my cycle properly.

AF due on 31/12, ten days from now. I have some First Response EPTs and they say that more than 60% of pg users get a BFP up to 6 days before AF is due. So here I am wondering if it's all possible to get a BFP tomorrow. Logically I know it's a waste of an EPT, but I WANT TO KNOW. Like I said, mental. Must find something else to do, like building a model ship out of matchsticks. Gah.

HeadFairy · 21/12/2008 14:30

Trixie! Get thee to a supermarket to stock up on matches! Good luck with your 2ww!

MoreThanChocolate · 21/12/2008 15:41

Hi All
I've got my sense of humour back now after AF started to subside

Wasn't sure if I should update the whole list or not but I need demoting to the bottom since the witch arrived

morethanchocolate ttc#1 cycle2 after mc cd4

However it is great to see the BFP's appearing and I am hoping to stay with this thread as my cycles vary 24-31 days I am still in with a chance for Sept 09.

Off to look at the slimming world site to try for a healthy christmas week

Fingers crossed for some more BFP's for the Sept 09 thread x

HeadFairy · 21/12/2008 15:44

Good to have you back morethan!

irishmumwannabe · 21/12/2008 23:26

Haven't been on for a while but congratulations to you 2manychips!

Finished work now until a week on Monday so will start bding thi week and hopefully keep it up for at least ten days (every second day for about 2 weeks). DH looking forward to it!

Hope everyone is ready for Christms and to those testing this week hope you get the best Christmas preesnt!

Gateau · 22/12/2008 09:12

Morning ladies,
Sadly my name needs to be taken off the list. My AF arrived this morning.
I got a surprise actually as I wasn't expecting it until later this week. So this cycle has been only 22-23 days long when it's normally 24-25. Is this normal? Maybe my recent ms cycle has messed things up a little, I don't know.
And this may sound like an ignorant question, but is it guaranteed that when you have a period you are still ovulating? Or is it possible to have a period without OV?
I just want to be consoled that as least I am ovulating!!

MoreThanChocolate · 22/12/2008 10:06

Hi Gateau

If you were to chart your basal body temperature for a month you should be able to see a pattern on the chart that confirmed ovulation (it would have a lower first section and higher section of temertures the second part of the month) so it's relatively easy (if not quick) to check.

Good luck for next month ...let me know if you want more info about charting.

gettingstarted · 22/12/2008 10:10

I thought you only got a period because you were ovulating and the egg hasn't implanted in the womb lining (something we're all bloody wishing for here!) I think it's consoling.
Do those of us who have started AF come off this list now or join on the bottom as second time round? (MN virgin still)

Gateau · 22/12/2008 11:01

MOrethan, thank you. I'll get a basal body temp chart, I think. It helps me think I'm doing something positive, I suppose. I used it and then got pg with my DS.
gettingstarted, shall we start a 'trying for an October baby' thread? A fresh start and all that..Better than ligering on this one, I reckon.
So does anyone know if a cycle as short as 22-23 days is normal?

littlepea72 · 22/12/2008 13:44

Gettingstarted, i would see the doc, if you are going mad (inside) then there are things in oral form. Thank godness you have a great donnor who is on "tap" lol....Has your Af came? If so....go luck next month....

Gateau....my cycle was shorter which was strange for me, this time i have ov 5 days early, that for me is just unheard off! I ov on day 17/18, this time day 13. I was lucky that i started the bking on day 10, just decided to do ov kit because i didnt feel right (pain in lower tummy alot earlier) so i got a smiley face on kit last night, 5 days ealier than i should have. Like you i wondered if it was normal. So do look out for your ov to start earlier, just incase. My hubby will be glad if we get pregnant, so he can get some peace! None for at least another 3 nights!!!

bubblebell1 · 22/12/2008 13:44

hi girls!!

hope your all well... still here with no AF. but all of u with AF join the bottom so we can stick together during this ttc business

thinking of you all and hoping that you all get lucky soon x

Snowfalls108 · 22/12/2008 16:00

Hi all, I'm a lurker I'm afraid. Been reading all your posts.
Also TTC for a September baby. Think I might be going a little crazy - I think I have morning sickness, but if we have conceived the earliest it could have been is 5 days ago - is it impossible that I could have morning sickness that quickly?
The smell of chocolate made me feel horribly nauseaus (sp?) earlier, and I have been sick twice, but other than that I feel pretty well in myself.

Am I being crazy?
Thanks,

twoturtledovesplease · 22/12/2008 16:52

hi - gateau - just wanted to say that i have cycles anywhere between 22 and 26 days - i think its normal if its normal for you if you see what i mean? didnt seem to matter when conceiving dd but am having more difficult this time and did wonder if cycles were long enough - gp seemed to think so although am waiting for results of blood tests to confirm ov this month. sorr about af - think i will be joining you on an oct thread soon as pretty sure af is on its way.

hi snowfalls and everyone else

JumpingJellyfish · 22/12/2008 17:11

just quickly checking in- olivo and 2manychips congratulations!! Hope the beans are sticky- what a fab xmas present!

Gateau in the past 6 months my cycles have been 28, 28, 26, 23, 25, 26, 28 days long- which from reading a few posts on here seems to be a pattern quite a few ladies experience, and doesn't mean that ovulation hasn't occurred or that the luteal phase is too short (less than 10 days)- just that ovulation is occurring earlier than the average of cd 14 for a 28-day cycle. It has concerned me a bit that my cycle has been shorter than I recall it being pre-DD but apparently such changes after children are very common and not a cause for concern. HTH.
Also if you conceive this cycle you might be in for an end of Sept baby so please stay on this thread! I'm staying on this I think as find it kind of hard moving on each month to a new thread...and if I did conceive a baby this cycle it should be due around 22 Sept I think.

Good luck all those on the 2WW- snowfalls your symptoms sound very promising, keeping fingers crossed for you!
Any news from katster37?

Decided this cycle to try the grapefruit drinking (I actually like the stuff!) plus will try the sanatogen conception vitamins and get DH to take his too as think we're both quite run down. Does anyone know if anaemia can affect fertility? I'm veggie and do quite often suffer borderline anaemia and wonder if this could affect TTC...might start taking the spatone again...

Oh, I hope people will stay on this thread - I feel like I'm just beginning to know everyone!

Symptom-spotting like mad here. Sore boobs? Well yeah, because I keep poking them to check. Weeping at films about orphans? Of course...because I do that anyway. Tired? You bet. I had to drive my dad to the airport at 5:30 a.m. By the time I can actually test, I'll be so mental be chewing on the stick instead of peeing on it.

Poor bubblebell, with your longer-than-any-human-should-be-subjected-to cycle!

Comma2 · 22/12/2008 23:35

That's why it says on the sticks "for external use only" I always like to have that reminder, too.

Can I join? I have a DD 12 months, mc last month with a chemical pregnancy, and am trying again. It is CD 17 today and I can't believe how nervous I am... With DD it took well over a year, so was sooo glad when it happend (or so I thought) after trying only twice. I'm just afraid it'll take that long again, and I'm not the youngest either.

Gateau · 23/12/2008 09:46

Thanks for all the advice, ladies.
jumpingjellyfish, I didn't work it out that I could still be in with a chance of a baby at the end of Sept. But I doubt it - DH and I will be in different countries from Dec 28 to Jan 4 - my likely fertile phase! . But who knows, I could maybe ovulate this month by CD7. Is that a possibility?

Gateau · 23/12/2008 09:52

Think I'll stick around on this thread, whether I conceive in September or not. I like this thread.
I have made another list as I amended my record slightly. Hope it's right:

do any of u know what the bloodtest is called that checks if you are ovulating??

good luck to those of you testing soon

hope u all have a brill xmas

xxx

HeadFairy · 23/12/2008 17:15

Just dropping in for a second to say hi! I hope everyone is well. Bubble, I think the tests you're referring to are the day 2 and day 21 tests. I'm not sure what hormones they check for but they can confirm if ov has occured for that cycle.

cantwaitforxmas · 23/12/2008 17:58

Hi all,

just popping on to say I hope you all have a fantastic xmas and new year (don't know whether I will be back on before then).

Bubblebell - I hope AF arrives soon and then you can get in some BDing and get back to hoping it doesn't arrive.

AF is due here on xmas eve or xmas day - I'm keeping everything crossed it doesn't put in an appearance but feel a bit bloated and grumpy today which is usually a sure sign it will arrive in the next day or two. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed till it's actually here though and hope for a little xmas magic!

Good luck to everyone else!

bubblebell1 · 23/12/2008 18:01
