Hi All, have been on a couple of ttc hreads but due to sad arrival of af yesterday and x2 negative pg testa thought I'd start a September one.

We are ttc#2 we already have dd(2) and had a mc in September this will be cycle 3 since mc.

Mc hit me hard, more so than other adverse life events for some reason also head full of other stuff such as trying to complete a Post grad Diploma in Cognitive Therapy!!

Anyway want to try to be optimistic and hopeful and not (too!) obsessive this month!

Anyone else fancy joining?? xx

Congratulations missiemoosmummy .

Sorry AF got you gettingstarted.

HeadFairy · 19/01/2009 08:50

Hi everyone...

Congratulations missy and littlewifey, sorry to hear about af issy and sunnydale. I hope your IVF is successful issy, good luck.

Littlewifey, I'm due for my doc's appt at 9.50 today to register as pg.... so paranoid, I'm going to have a chat with her and see if she thinks an early scan is worth it. We have a fantastic epu here where I can walk in without an appt and have a scan, I don't even need a reason, just being anxious is considered reason enough! I have absolutely no reason to be anxious but it's impossible not to. Good luck with whatever you decide, I hope it all goes well!

Gateau · 19/01/2009 09:01

Congratulations to all you newly pg ladies. I will love you and leave you as my AF arrived on Thursday.
And the rest of you, I hope to see you on the October thread. I'm heading there now.

HeadFairy · 19/01/2009 12:18

Sorry to hear that Gateau

ForcesSweetheart · 19/01/2009 16:32

Have updated list for today and corrected mine as I seemed to have lost a day somewhere along the line. Not had much time to get online in the last week, I've done the mad dash to Blandford camp twice to BD on Wednesday and Friday (the guys in the guardroom are getting to know me now) as DH wasn't getting home this wkend due to going on exercise, then I ov'd on Saturday night (cd19) according to tcoyf software so hopefully those two BDs were within the right window. Been temping religiously to get a better idea of whether the b6 is working to lengthen my luteal phase.

Congrats missieMM and littlewifey, can't believe how lucky this thread has been - here's hoping we get some more.
Headfairy, an early scan really put my mind at rest with DD. Being diabetic and therefore at higher risk of mc they scanned me at just 5 wks and even that early we saw the heartbeat - felt much relief that there was indeed something there, but I confess I still held my breath every time I went to the loo.

Bye gateau and gettingstarted, better luck for October.

MissieMoosMummy · 21/01/2009 20:45

No, you're not alone forces, I'm still lurking when I can. Very determined to see this thread to the end, me .

Fingers crossed that your Bd'ing has worked this month. How long is your luteal phase atm?
Mine has been 9 days since having dd (apparently due to breastfeeding), and I now realise that's short enough to affect implantation. I now feel very very very lucky to have pulled off a conception after finding this out.

If you suceed this month you'll have an October EDD, so why not spend a little time on the oct thread if you're feeling lonley?

MissieMoosMummy · 21/01/2009 20:47

That should be succeed of course

ForcesSweetheart · 21/01/2009 22:06

Hiya MMM, glad to see theres someone still here! My LP is 9 days atm. Was very fortunate to have DD I reckon (especially considering how unhealthy I was - was over 20 stone at time of conception). We spent over a year bd'ing around cd 12-16 then abstaining completely from cd16 for fear of dislodging anything that may have stuck. Wasn't til I bought a Persona machine I discovered I didn't ov til cd 20-22, so we had spent the whole year avoiding bd'ing during my fertile window. I conceived DD on the 2nd cycle of doing it at the right time, so had really hoped that info (and being over 6 stone lighter) would make it a lot easier this time around.
Although my due date will be early october, I'm diabetic and therefore if I'm lucky enough to get pregnant again I'll have my baby (probably by planned cs) at least 2 weeks before the due date, hence sticking with the september thread for now. I also had cholestasis with dd so with the increased risk of stillbirth that brings after 38 wks theres no way they'd let me go past that.
I know it's daft superstition but this threads been so lucky for so many I don't wanna jinx anything by even thinking about the october thread yet, I'll have plenty of time on there if this month doesn't take
Hows things going with you? Are you feeling good or has the dreaded morning sickness kicked in yet?

MissieMoosMummy · 22/01/2009 21:00

Ah, I see why you want to stay on here. Sounds like you've got lots of challenges to contend with, as well as a restricted BD'ing schedule, I'm really really rooting for you now. Did you have to have dd early because of the cholestasis?

Congrats on having shifted so much weight! How long did it take & how did you manage? Because I was determined not to get too dominated by ttc, I took out a 3 month subscription in the new year to Slimming World to try to lose 2 stones. That was a proper tempting of fate. Now the best I can hope for is not to gain too much.

I'm still feeling pretty fine; full of energy, very little nausea or any other symptoms. To be honest it has me a little freaked as I felt a fair bit more grotty at this point last time, and I had a little rant about it on the Oct thread because I was starting to worry that beanie wasn't very strong & wouldn't last. Over the last few days, however, I have felt a bit more like my tummy is 'occupied', and I get nauseous if I'm hungry or brushing my teeth, so I know there's some growing going on now. I'm hoping that all this healthy eating I've been doing will mean that I don't end up with the really bad ms I had last time, 7+ months of vomiting many times a day.

ForcesSweetheart · 23/01/2009 01:49

MMM glad to hear beanie's making their presence felt enough to put your mind at rest but not causing too much discomfort.

I lost the weight with gastric bypass surgery. A week after having DD I was over 23 stone (and i'm only 5ft 3), and for the whole 3rd trimester was wheelchair bound coz my pelvis couldn't cope with the weight. I managed to lose 4 stone by dieting in DDs first 6mths but then regained 2, so was 21 stone when my GP referred me for surgery. As much as for the weight loss benefits the surgery was to try and cure my type 2 diabetes to make a further pregnancy less risky. Many people who have it find their blood sugar has returned to normal within days of the surgery, so much so that they're starting to do the surgery on people with type 2 who aren't obese. My diabetes hasn't yet gone completely but is hugely improved and my diabetic team have given me the go-ahead to start trying.
DD was delivered at exactly 38 weeks because of both the diabetes and cholestasis. I would have been induced at 38 wks anyway because of the diabetes (as diabetics tend to have huge babies because of all the sugar in the blood), the cholestasis just made it all the more urgent. I developed that at 35 wks and had to have daily foetal heart traces and take drugs for it til 38 wks. I had this awful obstetrician whose english was pretty poor and he kept saying, "with cholestasis - after 38 weeks, 1 in 10 - dead baby" He totally freaked me out but I found by googling that he didn't have a clue what he was talking about as the figure is more like 1 in 200 or something, and even that figure is based on those where it wasn't diagnosed in time, as if it's diagnosed you just don't go over 38 weeks at all. Anyway.... I'm rambling now and should get to bed! When i wake up it'll be 6dpo....too soon to test dya think?

MoreThanChocolate · 23/01/2009 10:12

Hi Folks

Have had a few days away in London for our first anniversary. It worked well to take my mind off the 2ww but as soon as I came in the door I was back to analysing my chart...
I think I eventually ovulated on CD 32, I'm now CD37 and normally have a 10/11 day lutal phase so will be a few more days before I get the answer but blimey we worked hard at it this month!
forcessweetheart well done with your weight loss and for being so brave with the surgery. I joined Slimming World last week I have only ever tried weight watchers before. I'm over 18 stone and what with our trip away Slimming World diet has yet to make an impact.

ForcesSweetheart · 24/01/2009 17:56

Hiya morethanchocolate
Happy anniversary! Did you do anything fun while you were in London? I miss London so much. I worked in central London for years in my single days and really miss the buzz, the socializing (obviously wouldn't swap it for my wee angel though).
I know what you mean about obsessing over your chart. Are you using something like ovusoft? Oh that reminds me, haven't entered this morning's temp yet!
Good luck with the slimming world. How much are you aiming to lose? I'm gonna join it myself in a few weeks. My mate just had a baby and when she's 6 weeks she's going back to SW to lose the baby weight so I'm going too. My weight loss from my surgery is very slow now (2-4lb a month) and I'm terrified it's going to stop before I reach a reasonable weight. I need to lose at least 2 stone more to get my bmi out of the obese category and into just overweight. I'll be happy if I can reach that, have no desire to be a stick - just to not be obese anymore. For the year since my surgery I have been able to just eat what I like (in much smaller portions) and the weight has come off - now it's slowing down I think I need something like SW to keep me on track.

waaaaaaah I'm on 8dpo and have just had the teeniest tiniest bit of spotting. Entered it into my tcoyf software and it popped up with "Spotting at this time of your cycle may indicate that you are pregnant. This is referred to as 'implantation spotting'" OMG OMG OMG. I wanna test NOOOOOOW, but I know it'd be pointless yet. This is so frustrating.

ForcesSweetheart · 25/01/2009 13:29

have also had big temp dip today, which I think I read somewhere can also be a sign of implantation?

ForcesSweetheart · 25/01/2009 17:31

Well the teeny tiny bit of spotting has become quite prolific spotting as the day has gone on. I reckon either my LP has shortened (as ovusoft says I'm not due on til Tuesday) or I ov'd earlier than the software thinks I did. Reckon by tomorrow morning AF will be fully here. Oh well.

Issy42 · 25/01/2009 19:41

Sorry to hear that Forces. Hope it is just implantation for you. Fingers crossed.

MoreThanChocolate · 25/01/2009 21:27

Hi Forcessweetheart. What a day you're having, hope it's not AF arriving.

I am a bit lost with my own unusually looooooooong cycle despite the charting (just manual on a graph I got from the family planning nurse). I think my AF due about Wednesday. I'm working on a new project the next two days for a company I used to work for before I became self employed so that will help take my mind off it a bit.

In London we did theatre (Jersey Boys and Billy Elliott), lots of eating, and a ridiculous amount of walking as we explored/came to terms with the fact that with two maps, a sat nav and a google phone my DH and I can still get lost! We just don't know which way up to hold the blooming maps/gadgets. We had a lovely time and were thoroughly spoilt though.

ForcesSweetheart · 26/01/2009 12:13

It was AF, I'm out for this month. Also means my LP this cycle was only 8 days, so have made an appt with my GP for Friday to discuss, as I took B6 all cycle to try and lengthen, but it actually got shorter! Good luck to those of you left, I hope I don't see you in the October thread!
Lis xxx

MissieMoosMummy · 27/01/2009 09:27

Aw sorry to hear you're out now. Hope next cycle proves more fruitful once you get to the bottom of your lp probs. My AF arrived over the week-end, so I've moved to the November thread.

ForcesSweetheart · 27/01/2009 09:44

Oh No! I'm so sorry MMM. That's awful news.

MissieMoosMummy · 28/01/2009 01:27

I'm truely gutted. I kept away from this thread until I heard your AF news as I didn't want to jinx you. It seems that my short lp is also going to be quite a problem. I've been reading more on the subject, and now I keep seeing that if I concieve with a lp shorter than 12 days then I will lose it. I wish I'd seen this info before ttc. It's making me a little reluctant to keep trying until I sort it out.

I've decided to take action to improve my chances of a sticky bean: cut out breastfeeding, copious amounts of B6 (suppliment, Marmite & eggs), and natural progesterone cream. I'm also going to high-tail it down to the GP to see what he can do for me.

Issy42 · 28/01/2009 01:38

(((HUG))) MMM. So sorry you had mc.

I thought a 'normal' LP length was 10 - 14 days so surprised that
