Hi All, have been on a couple of ttc hreads but due to sad arrival of af yesterday and x2 negative pg testa thought I'd start a September one.

We are ttc#2 we already have dd(2) and had a mc in September this will be cycle 3 since mc.

Mc hit me hard, more so than other adverse life events for some reason also head full of other stuff such as trying to complete a Post grad Diploma in Cognitive Therapy!!

Anyway want to try to be optimistic and hopeful and not (too!) obsessive this month!

Anyone else fancy joining?? xx

HeadFairy and minx, I hope you are both okay.
The first 12 weeks or so are such a worrying time, partic if you have had previous mc(s).
I too would be severly bricking it if I was pg.

HeadFairy · 14/01/2009 09:55

Sorry to hear you're worrying so much minx, I'm sure it's just normal stretching pains you're feeling. I'm quite happy I can get an early scan at about 8 weeks if I want to. When I had my mc I went to the walk in clinic at the EPU and on the forms you fill in, they ask you your reasons for requesting a scan, and one of the reasons listed was anxiety following previous mc, so they recognise that as a valid reason for having a scan. My debate is whether I'm being silly as I've no reason to think there's anything wrong, and I'd just be using up valuable resources just to ease my concerns.

Aw Gateau, I know how you feel about the 40 thing. DH said I had to get pg by Dec 2009 as he didn't want to be have a new born after the age of 40. I'm not entirely sure what difference he thinks a few months make, instead he'll be 39 with a newborn! Silly boy

2manychips · 14/01/2009 10:04

Hey headfairy and minx My belly seems to constantly be cramping-really painful at times. I dont remember this with dd but maybe my mc is making me paranoid. I habe to say though I had a scan last week (early bleeding)and although seeing the tiny heartbeat reassured me at the time, I'm right back in worry land again now. Plus they worried me about something else!

HeadFairy · 14/01/2009 10:07

That's the thing that worries me 2manychips. My sis went for an early scan after her mc and they said the embryo was too small for her dates and to come back in 2 weeks. She spent those two weeks bricking it, only for it all to be absolutely fine. I don't know what's worse, waiting a whole 12 weeks (it's actually only 7 weeks now) or going in three weeks time and possibly having to face the same thing, it's quite common apparently.

I'm off home to bed now, have a lovely day everyone, and try not to worry about anything

irishmumwannabe · 14/01/2009 10:32

Hey all you Pg ladies - I'm so sorry that you are all worrying about your beans so much. I don't know what you are going through but will be thinking of you all over the next few weeks.

I hope everything goes well for you all and that you get your minds set at ease by the scans as and when they happen.

Good luck and lots of sticky thoughts being sent your way(s)

HeadFairy · 14/01/2009 23:07

ah that's sweet irish, thanks! I've actually worked out what the cramping feeling is for me. It only ever happens at work, it was the same when I was pg with ds. It's to do with sitting at a desk for 12 hours I'm sure. Normally I would get out at lunchtime, pop over to the shopping centre for a wander, but I can't really do that at 3am so hence I think I get a bit crampy when I sit for too long. I'm sure that contributed to why ds was breech too, that and my funny uterus!

I hope everyone's well and the 2ww/ttc rollercoaster is being kind to you x

littlewifey · 15/01/2009 20:09

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is ok today? I did a second first response this morning (decided to save my digi till the weekend) And it was def a BFP! 2nd dark pink line almost straight away!! I'm so excited but also petrified something might go wrong again- why does MC have to take all the joy and innocence out of early pg.
I hope everyone else has had a good day. Headfairy, minx etc, have you been to see doc yet to tell them you are pg? I can't decide whether to wait a few more weeks and pay for an early scan (My MMC had happened at 6.5 weeks although I didn't find out til 12 last time) and then if scan is ok then go to doc and book in with midwife.
Good luck to all those on 2ww, anyone else testing soon? x

Issy42 · 16/01/2009 00:35

Congrats littlewifey

Issy42 · 16/01/2009 14:14

I'm out again. Spotting and low temp today - even with a cold. Knew it was a long shot. Here's hoping the IVF brings better results.

Good luck everyone for a BFP and try not to worry those who got a BFP, I'm sure those beannies are sticky ones. BTW have any of you noticed that 30% of this thread have BFPs - defying the odds - and there's still another week to go to get a September baby.

xx

Sunnydale · 16/01/2009 14:25

Hello all - congrats Littlewifey that's wonderful news. Headfairy and Minx, sorry you are worrying - please try not to, I know easier said than done. Just think: you've done the hard part, you've passed stage 1 and are into stage 2. I'm trying to think of it in stages as it makes it less scary / more manageable.
Sadly, much as I'd love to be at stage 2, unfortunately AF arrived 2 days ago so it's back to square 1 for me. I noticed from the list that out of 28 names, 10 are now PG - that's an average of almost 1 in 3, which surely makes this a very lucky thread! I looked at the odds before AF arrived and was sure I'd be in the "unlucky" two-thirds - someone has to be! I guess I'll see some of you on the October thread, or maybe I'll have a break from MN, I don't know.
Gateau don't worry - I'll be 39 soon and there's already a 3 year age gap between my DC and the next one (if it ever comes along!) - I am gutted about it, as I really want DC not to be an only. I panick and feel sick when I think about it, which doesn't bode well for me getting PG! Oh well, what can you do? It's in the lap of the gods. Baby dust and sticky beans to all xxxx

Issy42 · 16/01/2009 14:33

Sorry AF got you Sunnydale . Looks like we cross posted with the same thoughts there. Let's hope the thread continues to be lucky for everyone left.

MissieMoosMummy · 16/01/2009 16:04

Congratulations littlewifey!
Issy42 and Sunnydale, sorry to hear it didn't work this time. Try not to get too downhearted about it, easier said than done I know, so here's hoping it happens for you soon xx.

I'm still doggedly haunting this thread like a spectre. AF has not arrived yet. I cracked tested today and got a BFN, but no longer have any idea what my cycle length should be. Since getting my AFs back after DD, my cycles started at 26 days but now seem to be 30+ days. Even my LP seems to have lengthened (which is a good thing but doesn't help with the measuring)! Not too many symptoms to report atm, a touch of cramping & flatulence . My temp started drifting down after the shift, but has now started drifting back up again so my chart looks like a rollercoster (reflects my emotions nicely - even though I vowed not to obsess).

Anybody else still waiting? I see some of the ladies at the top of the list have v. long CDs, so I assume they've either moved to an October thread or, hopefully, an ante-natal?

Thanks for the congrats ladies. Issy and Sunnydale, I am sorry that the dreaded AF got you this month. Wishing you both lots of luck for next month and Issy also lots of luck for the IVF. Missie I am keeping my fingers crossed for a BFP for you xx

gettingstarted · 16/01/2009 18:08

Hi All, still lurking around here, but mainly moved to October thread, due to test tomorrow. I seemed to have turned into a complete nutcase symtom spotter but now I'm testing tomorrow (I can't wait til Sunday) I've persuaded myself its going to be a BFN before its happened. Will let you know

Sunnydale · 16/01/2009 18:58

Good luck gettingstarted and Issy, sorry it didn't work out for you this time but good luck with the IVF, see you on the October thread xx

minxofmancunia · 16/01/2009 21:27

Congratulatiosn littlewifey! That's such great news, I can totally understand your worries being pg after a mc I'm happy and terrified at the mo, anxiously checking everything.

just have to hope for the best and pray, sending stickiness to you! x

RipMacWinkle · 16/01/2009 21:45

HI - just checking in.

Congrats to all the BFPs... there's a pretty good graduation list on this thread!

Also noticed that pinkie08 and Warmseabreeze are on this list but are well entrenched in the October thread so AF must have got them.

Fingers crossed for all those still to test x

MissieMoosMummy · 16/01/2009 21:50

So that's where you've all gone!
I think I'll join you all, and keep popping up on this one too. If I get a BFP I'll have a late Sept/early Oct EDD.

MissieMoosMummy · 16/01/2009 22:16

It's a BFN off to IKEA to keep busy

MissieMoosMummy · 17/01/2009 11:58

Sorry to hear that gettingstarted . Maybe tomorrow will get your bfp.

I had a bfn as well today. 2 more days to the end of my 2ww. I'm also going to take my mind off things by going shopping, but to the much less exciting Halfords

MissieMoosMummy · 18/01/2009 06:29

Got my BFP this morning!

Had to use a cleablue digital, as the ebay cheapies were driving me nuts - the +ve line was so very faint I couldn't be sure I if was imagining it.

Provided Beanie sticks, my EDD (based on ov CD23) will be 28th Sept so I may just get my sept baby after all!

Good luck with your testing gettingstarted, and to anyone else still waiting to test!

Congratulations MissieMoosMummy!! This thread has been quite a lucky one

MoreThanChocolate · 18/01/2009 10:51

Wow what a lucky thread! Congratulations MssieMoosMummy.

Well my cycle is shot to pieces I'm CD 32 and think I finally ovulated yesterday.

I never got a true positive on the OPK though got a strong-ish line yesterday (plus some random bleeding) and the same the day before along with ovulation pain and other promising signs.

I'd like an insurance bdance today but daren't ask! We are bdanced out. DH has been fabulous and must be exhausted. I'll keep up with the opks till I am sure there isn't a true positive to come though.

gettingstarted · 18/01/2009 17:32

Congratulations missiemoosmummy

Sadly AF arrived for me today, so I will completely migrate to October now. Good luck all you graduates and see the rest of you over there
