I'm currently 9 dpo, with high temps (i'll attach chart) i was woken at 4.30 this morning with awful cramps (didn't feel like af cramps almost like trapped wind pain all over my tummy and around my tummy button, was almost certain i'd go to the bathroom and see blood but nothing! My fingers are so tightly crossed Praying this month will be it. How's ur symptom spotting going?

hi girls
i am still on the clomid my gyn just upped my dosage to 150mg of clomid. My period is due anywhere between the 13th (which is my birthday so great)or the 20th so hopefully santa will wave a little of his magic over xmas.
how are you all have you all finished your xmas shopping and what are you up to over the holidays? xxx

hopefulnicci · 09/12/2008 18:54

That's gr8 news Hayzee! Why don't u start charting for this next cycle. all you need to do is take ur temperature each morning. It'll help u pinpoint patterns to ur cycle & could aid the timing of your IUI (i know u'll have scans but it will also confirm ovulation for u or not) Let me know if ur interested i can invite u as a friend so we can both get some free VIP days. U can either do it via my link (previous post) or drop me ur email & i can do it that way! Where is everyone else? I got BFN today 10dpo (i caved in!!!-poas)

Hi everyone

Have started on the clomid again today but am not being monitored this cycle so just gonna have to do lots more BDing, poor dh was given a printout of the sperm meets egg plan last night and told "this is what we will be doing this month" hehe. I was being quite irrational yesterday, I bought him a computer game and then when he stayed up late playing it I told him thats why I was in bits every month It's a good job he understands Am feeling much better today the defeatist attitude has gone and am up for the battle again and this time I'm gonna win!!! I had another hissy fit yesterday coz I have lost my BBT thermometer, bloody typical timing have had it ages and never used it, found it a couple of weeks ago in the kitchen drawer and the minute I want it............!!poof!! it's gone never mind maybe I would drive myself silly with it lol.

So am on CD2 now how is everyone else getting on? Hayzee thats good news about them upping your dose. Hope everyone is well (sprinkles babydust for all)

Moo xx

hopefulnicci · 09/12/2008 20:54

autiemoo, i know exactly where ur coming from, re moods & men and computer games!!! Get urself a bbt thermometer on ebay u'll have it by thursday for under £5. Then you can join me on fertility friend charting (perfect if u aren't being monitored this month).

Hi Nicci your chart looks hopeful and it's very early so try not to get down about the BFN - at least you know the hcg is out of your system so you can trust a BFP now. I'm on fertilityfriend too, but not VIP so can't share my charts. I'm not symptom spotting because will just be the hcg. Day 21 blood test tomorrow, can't believe I'm only half way through the 2ww - feels like forever.

Hope the higher dose works for you Hayzee. I got a lot of my shopping done at the Lincoln Christmas market on Saturday, so just 4 pressies to go. It's secret santa day at work tomorrow and haven't wrapped the present yet. What are you doing for Crimbo?

Have you seen the fertilityfriends.co.uk website? It's quite good for meeting people being treated at the same clinic as you. I've been on it to find out the true cost of IVF and have been chatting with someone on there who also works for my employer and has to hide from colleagues when she goes for treatment. Small world - I wrote to her 2 years ago in my work.

How's it going auntiemoo?

Issy42 · 09/12/2008 21:23

Sorry girls - interrupted writing my post to eat dinner and forgot to check if anyone had posted meanwhile. Lol about the computer game - if he's anything like me he'll play non-stop for a few days and then abandon it. Am getting my dad a computer game for Christmas.

auntiemoo · 09/12/2008 22:45

LOL issy I wish he would give it up after a few days he plays online so he's always playing different people and never gets bored, unlike me who sits watching him play!!! Well am done with the xmas shopping now and everything is wrapped so am going shopping for an outfit tomorrow with my mum and brother and having lunch out with them too. Hopefully will be in for a relaxing december now, have 3 birthdays yet before xmas but am done buying and wrapping for those too, just got the cards to buy now.....woo hoo

Nicci will have a look on ebay but am determined to find the one i have, it's driving me potty because I know I have seen it, even got out of bed a few times coz I'd thought of different places it could be lol, the annoying thing is I took it out of the drawer and put it somewhere that I knew it would be

Has anyone else tried the sperm meets egg plan (aka the deanna plan)?? Wonder if it really is as successful as it says 40% which is better than the 25% you get naturally??? I've only had a quick look at it so am gonna google it again now.

hayzee · 10/12/2008 08:17

hi
im chuffed that im allowed to continue on the clomid as it puts off the iui for a while, you never know it might just work and i wont need the iui. My xmas shopping is finished but my hubby is off work and ill in bed just hoping that i dont get it as we are going lapland uk on sat for my birthday as im a big kid and then we are going out in the evening for a few drinks at a local club.
For xmas im at the in-laws which is great as i cooked for 13 last year so having a nice relaxing day, then boxing day i have my nan as we lost my grandad this year, my dad and 2 brothers and my sister who lives with me. Nicci i might start charting but i will probaby forget to take my temp in the morning as i just jump out of bed with a list of things to do running through my head

bamboostalks · 10/12/2008 08:26

Hi everyone, I posted really early in this thread and then dropped off a bit although I have been following everyone's stories. Just finished my 3rd round of IUI and clomid at 100 and am now waiting for af to arrive. I am going to move onto IVF then but feel that my ovarian reserve must be rubbish as my response to clomid has been poor, never more than one egg. It is such a downer the whole thing and the amount of time off work to go and have all the scans is beginning to get difficult. What does everyone else do? I haven't told my boss.

hopefulnicci · 10/12/2008 10:03

goodness we're all so organised re christmas! i'm done shoppiong too just have 2/3rds of it to wrap. We've got two birthdays b4 then also! there presents are all wrapped and waiting!!
Welcome again Bamboo, i know it must get difficult re taking so much time off work, i've been so fortunate there as i can fit it in around my work as i do 2 24hr shifts a week so have a tues wed fri free. I wish u lots of luck for this cycle.
I'm really flat today as temperature took that all too common nose dive today. I've uncrossed my fingers & am gonna stop praying as it doesn't seem to be helping me in any way. www.fertilityfriend.com/home/139770

Hi All

Am sat here in the bestest shoes in the world trying to break them in because they are sooooooooooooo uncomfortable but very very cool a successful shopping trip today have got a frock and everything I usually stay well away from anyhing that shows leg (or my stumps as DH calls them lol)

Bamboo,I'm really lucky in that I have a very understanding boss and he lets me have time off whenever I need it, he knows what DH and I are going through and he's been really good about it. Maybe if you feel you could tell your boss it might make them a bit more understanding.

Wow hayzee cooking for 13 last year!!! I cooked for 7 and found that a nightmare lol. I hate cooking everyday food never mind the chrimbo dinner, I'm at my ma in laws this year so am looking forward to having it made for me.

Nicci, I'm not sure about anything about BBT just yet but am sat here secrely hoping that you slept outide the covers in the nud!! Other than that am hoping as I think can happen that it's an implantation dip??? Like I said though don't really know anything about it.

Issy, how are you, where are you up to now?

Xmas babydust for everyone

Moo xx

Issy42 · 10/12/2008 23:53

auntiemoo - hope you enjoyed your family dinner. Sadly can't help with SME plan - no dp to try it with! - but lots of people on other threads swear by it. Hope those shoes are nicely stretched.

Hayzee - enjoy Lapland and your birthday. Have lots of citrus fruit and strawberries to boost that zinc and vit c and keep hubby's cold away. I couldn't manage without temping, I find the rise so reassuring, and it doesn't take long to get in the habit. The drop, though infuriating, is also useful as a warning that AF is coming.

Hi bamboo - hope AF stays away for you. I'm moving to IVF if this IUI fails too. I was upfront with my boss and initially she was supportive but more recently less so - even though I arrive at work earlier on days I have scans - luckily I don't start til 10am usually. I've been lucky that most of my treatments have either fallen on Saturday or when I'm on annual leave anyway, so only 2 of my 8 have been in work time.

Sorry your temp dropped today Nicci, but it's still way above your cover line, so fingers crossed it will rise again tomorrow for you.

I have done quite well at not symptom spotting this past week - until today! So here's my observations and the common sense reasons. It's 7 dpo and I have a temp dip - implantation? - Or just that my boiler didn't kick in so was freezing and was up earlier than usual to fit blood test in before work. Walking between car and hospital had strange crampy pains too low for trapped wind - but they didn't last very long. Later in the morning had really itchy nips (sorry) - I was wearing the cheapest bra I've ever bought (but never itchy before). So they could all be something and nothing and should just try to forget about it for a week. Someone tell me to stop!

Good luck all xxx

hopefulnicci · 11/12/2008 10:32

temp dip on 7 dpo sounds really promising Izzy!!!!
Mine stayed down this morning and i have just starting spotting so i'm out yet again, better luck to you x

OP posts:
Issy42 · 11/12/2008 14:16

Sorry Nicci .

My temp rose back a bit this morning, but caved in and tested and got a BFN. The time I had suspected early mc it stayed positive until 10 dpo, so think probably hasn't worked for me. Was really hoping it would this time so don't have to make the IVF decision.

Hope everyone else is having better luck x

Hi Londonlottie - nice to see you on this thread and thanks again for introducing me to the other FF site (confusing that there are two). The only reason I'm concerned about a BFN on 8dpo (10 days after hcg shot) is because a few cycles ago I had a suspected early mc and didn't get a negative until 13 days after the shot, so I have a theory in my head that if I'm pg the test won't go negative. There are lots of different strengths of hcg shot and people metabolise (is that a word?) at different rates, so may not mean anything for you though. Also I've read somewhere that a +ve, -ve, +ve after hcg shot means you're pregnant so it must happen for some people.

If you know your usual temps you could start temping now, which would give you the pre-AF warning.

I can never wait until test date either, I usually give in at day -3 when the cb digital is 87% accurate. Even though the bfns are disappointing, I get carried away thinking I'm pg and the early testing brings me back down to earth more gently. I'm still undecided at what's best.

Now you can all tell me off as I know you should never do it, but ... I was in such a rush this morning I didn't look really closely at the test, didn't accurately time the 5 mins (was just counting in my head) and left the wrapper on the windowsill. When I went to put the wrapper in the bin this evening I picked the test back up again (very bad habit I have - there was nothing yucky in the bin - other than the used pg test of course ), but there was a line there. I know one can appear after a while (there's no don't read after time with the test I used - internet cheapie with poor instructions), but I used these tests last month and no line appeared after a negative result then on any of them. So maybe I jumped the gun thinking I had BFN this morning. Of course still could be from the hcg shot so doesn't mean anything and was very faint but pink not grey. I will try not to test again until next Wednesday (but I said that this morning )!

Really hope the IVF worked for you Lottie and good luck everyone else too xx.

Well I think I'm one of a few guilty culprits of serial testing on here, hey Nicci .

If you look back at the thread I posted a summary of all our thoughts on when hcg leaves your system on page 4 to someone who popped in briefly then got a BFP - maybe we're a good luck charm on this thread.

Please don't be terrified - I didn't mean to worry you - there must be lots of people who test negative then positive after hcg for the question to be out there on the threads. And if my theory were correct for everyone someone would have known about it by now. I tested negative for two days then positive again when had the suspected mc too (tho it was a Sainsburys and there's now a whole thread about them and false positives, so who knows). I guess it's connected with both how quickly you expel the false hcg and how quickly you start producing the natural hcg that determines whether it would go negative before a positive, so it must be different for different people else we'd all test positive on same dpo to confirm pg instead of this whole 55% on day-4, 87% on day-3 etc.. I'd love to see studies on this too.

Yes, I'm 8 dpo today, we are cycle buddies . Really hope you get good news - after going all the way to Norway for treatment you certainly deserve it. BTW, what are the IVF success rates for your clinic? The one I'm looking at is 45% for 35-37 year olds.

Babydust to all

hayzee · 12/12/2008 07:29

hi all
im currently really ill hubby infected me with his cold feel really rubbish so if i done feel better by tomorrow might have to give lapland a miss even though its cost me a fortune. It is supposed to be heavy rain tomorrow and the whole experience is outdoors so just hoping will feel a little better by the morning. What a great birthday im going to have i supposed to be going hairdressers today but really dont feel like it but if i dont get it done today i probably wont be able to get it done before xmas. Im keeping all my fingers crossed for all of you it would be great to hear some good news on here. Im waiting for my period to arrive so that i can get back on the clomid at least i dont have to waste money on tests this month as i didnt ovulate.xxx

hopefulnicci · 12/12/2008 08:23

AF in full flow this morning thinkin of you all! Welcome lottie!! best of luck to u and Izzy for this cycle. I've pondered on whether once the hcg leaves ur system around 8 dpo that it peaks again b4 leaving completly! i've had a couple of occasions recently where i've got bfp once it's supposedly left my system, only to be followed by AF. Who knows??!!
Get well soon Hayzee, especially for ur birthday! Go get ur hair done, it may make u feel better!

OP posts:
Issy42 · 12/12/2008 14:33

Sorry you feel ill Hayzee - really hope you feel better for your birthday tomorrow.

Sorry AF here Nicci . Another BFN for me today and checked an hour later and evap line was starting to appear, so think that must be what happened yesterday, so probably joining you next Wednesday.

Hope you don't mind but I've directed someone over here who has a clomid question and thought you may be able to help.

xx
