Hi u 2! Issy it doesn't matter that we're out of sync, one of us has to get a bfp first!! are u 9dpo now? try and stay positive what will be will be hey!? at least u know the hcg is out of ur system so if u can hang on for another 5 days.........easier said than done hey? coming from a serial tester. i'm taking the clomid at night time, only symptom so far are headaches! hope i don't get any other side effects.
just to let u know, the doctor i've been seeing/referred to has been suspended!!! so i javen't got any hcg for this month, and can't get a prescription as the GP won't sanction it, and there isn't another fertility doctor in my area at the mo. Typical. Don't suppose u know if u can get hold of it without a script?? Either that or i just have to pray that by the time i need it there's another consultant in his place!! Dramas!!!
Hayzee wish u & ur family well this wkend. x

Hi both. Hope you get good news at the hospital hayzee. Fingers crossed for a successful scan on Wednesday and thanks both so much for your kind words.

Nicci - I can't believe you can just be left in the lurch like that . Are you on NHS? If so can you be seen at another hospital just this once to get your shot? I'm amazed it's so strict - at my hospital the nurses just give it out to you so I don't even see a doctor - not even the first time I had it. If you're being treated as a private patient is there another clinic nearby you could ask to be seen at just this once? You really shouldn't have to go through all those nasty clomid symptoms for them not to follow through the treatment - very unprofessional. What's happening about your scans? Perhaps the nurses there can give you some ideas.

I am 9 dpo and will have to try really hard not to test this weekend. I bought some really cheap ones on the internet so I may allow myself to use those early and wait until Wednesday (or I get a positive on the cheapies which would be great) to use the CB digital. Got the cheapies the day after my IUI, so tried one out and even then only had a faint line. They also don't tell you how long to dip for and have different instructions on the box (any line) than on the packet (line has to be as dark as control line), so I'm not convinced they're that great - but I did only buy the 25mIU as I know when to expect a negative from hcg shot with that strength.

Have been feeling really out of it today so hoping it's pg symptom and not onset of a cold.

Fingers crossed for us all x.

Issy42 · 16/11/2008 19:07

BFNs over weekend for me

I suppose I could be in the 13% of women who wouldn't get a positive yet, but I just don't feel it.

Hope you have better news.

hayzee · 17/11/2008 16:47

hi all
issy im keeping my fingers crossed for you i dont show until im a wk late on a test so dont give up just yet.
nicci cant believe u aint getting hcg i dont see a doc the fertility nurse writes my prescriptions for my clomid and hcg shot so y cant they write 1 4 u.
my husbands cousin is out of the woods we really thought we were going to lose him but he is out of his coma and alert just very weak but that is 2 b expected. He will be in hosp for a while but hopefully he will b out b4 xmas.
I didnt really have a lot of side effects this month which was good. Ill let u no how i get on wednesday good luck both of u xxx

hopefulnicci · 17/11/2008 20:34

Gr8 news about ur DH's cousin i'm really pleased. Izzy fingers and toes crossed, u can't give up hope yet!
As for me, no luck in getting a script for hcg. i've never seen a fertility nurse only the consultant and it was him that wrote my prescriptions. i'm on the NHS not in a position to go private. The hospital aren't giving much away with regards to how long they'll be without a fertility specialist. All they can say is they'll send correspondence via the post! Rubbish. i really hope i haven't taken the clomid in vain. Maybe thinking it won't happen this month will result in BFP wishful thinking!! I'll keep charting regardless, stay in touch girlies. x

hopefully u wont be taking the tabsin vain hopefully u wont need the hcg and will ovulate on ur own. xxx

magnummum · 18/11/2008 12:18

Hi there, thought this might encourage you. With Dd now 2 I got pregnant on 3rd cycle of Clomid (50mg), this time round had 6 cycles in all with dose increased each time (seems to be no rhyme or reason to what the specialist decided to do). On 5th cycle I was also given HCG jab. What my consultant very unhelpfully didn't advise on was when to do a Pregancy test so I ended up with two false positives which was pretty upsetting. I then had a laparoscopy, HSG and ovarian drilling followed by unmonitored 6th cycle of Clomid and found out last week I'm expecting twins

Issy42 · 18/11/2008 18:56

Congratulations magnummum and thanks for the positive story.

Good news about your dh's cousin hayzee and glad you didn't have bad clomid side effects this time. I'm surprised that you get 6 months with clomid and then 3 IUI as usually you take clomid with the IUI and you don't have clomid for more than 6 months. Mind you my m/c was IUI without clomid as I refused to have it initially - too scared of coping with twins on my own.

Really hope you ovulate without the hcg nicci - at least the charting will help you to know what's going on.

Good luck both xxx

My temp dropped right back well below my coverline this morning so that's me definitively out for this cycle . AF should arrive later tonight/tomorrow.

Had a weird day at work. My organisation owns a private fertility clinic based in the same hospital where I get my treatment in the NHS clinic. I got an e-mail from my boss asking me to go to a meeting there next week to discuss some staff issues and turns out my NHS consultant is also the director of the private clinic and is going to be at the meeting. Totally freaked me out. Anyway declared the conflict of interest to my boss and she said that it had already been decided in the meeting she'd just come from that our team is not getting involved. Phew! Really don't want to have to go to meetings in the fertility clinic when I'm about to have my final attempt - there's a limit to how far you can be expected to be professional and having to go there if next time fails and there's no hope left would be heartbreaking. Ah well I suppose I can always go back to hoping on plan A - finding a man who both falls in love with me and instantly wants to start a family with me - that I gave up on when I started this whole donor thing a year and a half ago. Think that's as likely as me not testing early next month .

hopefulnicci · 18/11/2008 19:57

Magnummum, Congratulations to u! that's fantastic news, & u so deserve it after all u've been through. Can i ask why the last cycle was unmonitored (as that's what's happening to me this month!) What dose of clomid were u on? did you have hcg? if so when? sorry for all the questions, i'd just love to be in ur position soon, goodluck!! x
Izzy i'm so sorry your temp dropped, i'll pray it's a one off drop (implantation!) for you, & it rises tomorrow. i'll log on first thing for your progress. What's your occupation then? do u work in a hospital? That's a brave move ur making ttc with a donor, a year and a half is a long time, i hope your wish is answered soon. Thanks for ur kind words x

Thanks for the congratulations. Pretty chuffed but trying to get my head round it all after all the ups and downs. To answer your questions Hopefulnicci, I basically had the drilling, HCG and laparoscopy on 30th July with a follow up with my fertility chap booked for 6 weeks later. (with no instruction as to what to do if AF arrived in the meantime). Suffice to say it did over the August Bank holiday so by the time I could speak to anyone at the clinic it was already day 3 of the cycle. Was told to start Clomid anyway at previous highest dose of 150 followed by 5 days of 50 and that they wouldn't bother with a scan as I was going in for follow up appointment soon anyway! Still all seemed to conspire to produce 2 littlies. Had to laugh as he scanned me at 7 weeks when I told them I was pregnant and he told me that there was definitely only one, hence our slight suprise last week to see two bouncying around. Not sure whether you'll find this inspiring or not... There does not seem to be much rhyme or reason to the whole Clomid thing.

hayzee · 19/11/2008 21:26

hi
congratulations magnummun im so pleased fo you.
well i had my scan and she said that she cant see anything growing although last time i developed slow so i had a blood test to see what is going on in my ovaries. Got another scan booked for friday if nothing has happened by then i have got to have another blood test so not sure what will happen.
If i go for the iui they was talking about injecting myself instead of the clomid but until i go down that route im not really sure.

Issy42 · 20/11/2008 01:14

Hi all. Hayzee - I've previously had nothing developing as I used to have long cycles, but it does happen eventually, so hope things look better on Friday for you.

Thanks for your hope on my behalf Nicci, but AF arrived today as expected, so back to the clomid tomorrow. I work in Human Resources, but not for a hospital, it just happens that my organisation owns the private fertility clinic. Unfortunately that doesn't mean I get reduced price treatment there, lol - in fact the clinic doesn't treat single women. Keep us informed on those temps, really hope your body does the work without the hcg.

Roll on the BFP's for us all for August babies xxx

hopefulnicci · 20/11/2008 16:20

Just got my hcg prescription!!!!!!! i pestered daily, and they've finally got it written up for me.
Grow grow follicles!! & for you Hayzee.
Really sorry AF showed up Issy, it's such a rubbish familiar feeling, join us again, hope this is our month.
BFP's here we all come, an august baby would be lovely. x

Issy42 · 20/11/2008 17:17

Excellent news Nicci.

I'm an August baby. My parents moved house 9 months before I was born, so I was either goodbye old house or hello new one .

If you want to persuade your dh/dp to bd like crazy this month just point out that an August baby means a year less at nursery than a September one .

Injecting some humour today as am . I'm on another clomid thread too and the only person with a BFP this month has just had mc. How cruel can life be?

I can't get hold of my clinic - they never answer the phone - and haven't replied to my e-mails. They're usually good at responding quickly so probably just that the nurse is away, but hope it's not that they don't want me to try again as have to start the clomid tonight. Have had banging head and sore bbs all day, so I'm sure the clomid will help that!

Sending you both lots of babydust for nice big follicles. xxx

Bless you Izzy. Love ur nursery point! :0

hayzee · 21/11/2008 12:20

hi all
had another scan today she said she can see an egg but it is only 8mm whereas last time on day 14 it was 13mm so looks like it might not be working, gotta go back on monday for another scan just to see if it is growing but just taking its time this month. My fertility nurse also said that after my 6 months of clomid i might be able to have ovarian drilling to improve my chances.
nicci im so pleased u managed to get ur precription lets hope it works.
issy lets hope that this is ur lucky month.
xxx

hopefulnicci · 21/11/2008 19:52

Hi girlies. Slowly but surely Hayzee, maybe this folicle will stick??!! fingers crossed again for you. I'm CD 11 today, & am back to using my CBFM. Got a low reading this morning which i was surprised at, thought it'd be at least a high reading being 5 days since my last clomid tablet, & as my temp dipped today. Oh well, it's all a waiting game, isn't it! Still gonna try and steer clear from POAS this month, lets see how long i last. Picked up my HCG this pm
Izzy i read lollipops post, & i have to say it sounds like OHSS, i hope it isn't & hope she's taken all your advise and gone to the DR's. Do you know if she's being monitored? It's spooked me, as i'm not gonna be monitored till i get another referral. Hope she's ok. How are you going on that clomid, do u take it 2-6 aswell? u may have mentioned b4 but memory fails me. Hayzee we may be back on track together? i'm hoping hard we ovulate soon. X

OP posts:
Issy42 · 22/11/2008 00:19

Hope you get good news on Monday Hayzee. Be thinking of you. What is ovarian drilling?

Nicci - sure you'll get your high soon, esp if you have had that dip. I've never used a CBFM, how do they work? Glad you got your hcg and thanks for checking out the post. Lots of people from another clomid thread I'm on have urged her to get it checked out, so let's hope she listens. I think some people are only monitored first cycle and others not at all. I guess unmonitored just increases chance of multiple birth as I would get my treatment cancelled if more than 3 over 1.4 - just scraped in there last time with the fourth at 1.2 - not that it did any good.

Will be having the 'what happens next' conversation when I get scanned on Friday, so see what they say, but they've previously said in passing only option is IVF, which can't afford. I do take day 2-6. First time was treated on day 13 and last time was day 11 - but both hcg triggered. Expect will be day 11 this time as clinic will force it on the Saturday, so they don't miss treating if it happens naturally on the Sunday.

Off to my cousin's wedding tomorrow - really looking forward to it, but hope I don't get too many 'when are you going to settle down and have kids' comments. Also will get asked about my brother, who unbeknown to most of my family is not at all nice and I haven't seen him for over 10 years. At least he wasn't invited to the wedding, so I can go.

Have a nice weekend xx

hayzee · 22/11/2008 11:17

hi all
well ive got my fingers crossed for both of u we could do with some good news on here. im not 100% sure about the ovarian drilling as it was only mentioned briefly to me but she said that they would drill my cysts on the ovaries which gets rid of my pcos for 12-18 months which would give me a better chance of getting pregnant. They are going to look into it after i finish my 6 cycles of clomid so hopefully if they do it and i have to go down the iui route it will give me a better chance but will have to wait until next year.
Well ive got loads of decorating at home to do (was only going to paint living room but ripping out flooring, fire place getting new units etc) so it will take my mind off this cycle but im now in the mind that clomid is not going to work for me my body seems to not like it. They was talking of putting my dosage up if it doesnt work so i hope i dont get really bad side effects.xxx

Issy42 · 24/11/2008 01:44

Hayzee - I read somewhere that increased dosage doesn't increase the side effects. Be careful with that decorating if you're in the 2ww - try and avoid those paint / varnish fumes. If you're anything like I was the other month, you won't be able to stay in the room anyway - it's one of the main reasons that I think the nurse was right about the early mc.

I'm putting off going to bed tonight as I really don't want to wake up tomorrow. It's the day the baby I miscarried in March was due and already I keep bursting into tears. Really don't know how I'm going to get through work and wish I'd taken the day off now.

It must be coming up to ov time for you both so good luck!

hopefulnicci · 24/11/2008 21:47

Oh Izzy i'm so sorry for you. i'm thinking of you. I know how hard it is, having gone through 3 miscarriages myself. I was midwife till feb 07. I had to quit as i was losing the plot! I'd book women from all walks of life, & watch them falling pregnant carrying to term & then i'd visit them at home after. My 3rd miscarriage was dec 06 it was then i dedcided i couldn't go on anymore. It's tuff, but you'll get through tomorrow. Going to work could actually be better for you than sitting at home alone! i've done it both ways, & being on our own is no good. Be strong, it will happen for you, it'll happen for us all!
No signs of impending ovulation for me, monitor is still registering as low!! Hayzee how was ur scan today?

OP posts:
hayzee · 24/11/2008 22:21

hi issy, nicci is right we have all been through the same when my due date came for the baby i lost last xmas i had a cry just for the what might have been.
my scan went crap there was nothing so i dont think its working and the fertility nurse agreed i had a blood test to tell exactly what is going on. The nurse is going to call me tomorrow with the results and then she is going to get in touch with my gyn to see if she wants to increase my dosage or stop with the clomid altogether so i might no longer be on it just have to wait and see what will be will be.
hope u both are doing well im out of the race for the august baby but i will keep my fingers crossed for both of u xxx.

Issy42 · 25/11/2008 00:18

Thanks both. Haven't been too bad today, had the odd moment but at least I held it together at work. One of my colleagues even remembered and bought me some flowers, which was really sweet.

It must have been really tough being a midwife and going through that Nicci. Hope that monitor goes high for you soon.

Sorry about your scan Hayzee. I hope they sort out your dosage soon. Maybe they will try the injections instead for you.

Take care both xx
