OK well not sure my title is good enough really and feel honoured you let me start the thread. So heres to a new month and new start on my cycle! TTC is going to be a very nervous and aprehensive time for me but i know oyu are all in the same boat and with your support im sure i can do it. So im on day 1 of my cycle. Should ov on day 10 although am not certain if D&C has mucked up my ovulation but will guess that. Am almost thinking that im ttc just to lose another baby and i know thats wrong but cant help it. With 2 mc already its hard to believe it will ever happen for me and DH and im almost convinced i will never see a healthy happy 12 week bean. Ok enough doom and gloom.

HERES TO ALL OF US WHO ARE NERVOUSLY TTC AND MAY LUCK AND FAIRY DUST SHOWER OVER US IN THESE COMING MONTHS!

GoodMorning All

Had a crap mothers day as took my mum for a few dringks and an old schoolfriend was there heavily pregnant, this normally wouldn't bother me but feeling obliged to ask i said when are you due. SHe said 7 April which is the date i would have been due if i hadn't M/c. I nearly burts into tears and managed to make my excuses and get to the toilets before the tears came.

Then felt like crap as it wasn't her fault. It took a few Vodkas before I could talk to her again and then I did to explain as i must have been rude, luckily she was fine.

God it gets you when you least expect it.

Apart from that I got a lovely mothers day card of my niece and nephew. And the promise of breakfast in bed when my niece stays with me next! She is fourteen and was really upset when i m/c we share a really special bond.

Oh well ther is always next year.

dyzzidi · 07/03/2005 09:01

Teatime,

I would love to talk to you about the Fibroid thing. let me know when is best for you.

Bella23 · 07/03/2005 09:24

Morning all
Slink , glad is all back on track with your DH. I think we all have to trad a little carefully around the men as teatime is right regarding the "performance" element. It can be so hard sometimes to keep chilled regarding these things. DH and I have tried to keep a sense of humour about it and I don't mind admitting that we've had some seriously bad bding around ov when we've both been knackered and simply had to do it anyway!!
Mishi - sorry AF is messing you around a bit, fingers crosses she shows up soon in order to get her out of the way.
Any more testers this week?

Slink · 07/03/2005 09:49

Thank you to all, sorry about your day dyddi, hang in there my love.

My prob is that dh is not big on sex never has been really so i am trying to be honest, other thing is he wants to make the move and would prefer i didn't but i need to really and it goes on and on ........bless i know he is trying .....god he can be very trying, i thought men thought about sex every 10sec??? or is that just me??

Bella23 · 07/03/2005 10:05

Slink, men are a very sensitive species really.
mmmmm....its very hard for you to wait for him to make the first move when your head is screaming "Its ov time we need to do it now"
Yes I think the men thinking about sex every 10secs probably is a myth. I think the main problem is doing it to order but with a window of a few days a month in order to get up the duff how exactly can it be made spontaneous!!

Nemo1977 · 07/03/2005 10:08

hi all quick one as ds is hyper...
hugs to all the bding hubbies i think are due..lol
dyz poor u with the pg friend its harsh isnt it...we are trying to book a week away for when i would have been due.
still no sign of af but bfn this morning so think she is deffo just being late..sigh
lots of sticky icky baby dst to all
take care

george32 · 07/03/2005 12:34

Hi to all, been away for the weekend so only come back on line this morning.
Not had chance to catch up yet but not much new news from me. No ferning, no temp rise, no positive OPKs - so NO BLOODY OV!!, Really fed up now so I might have to stop obsessing for a while before I go mad. Is anyone else letting this mission to get p/g again rule their life?

(How grumpy am I today??!!!!)
Promise I won't come back til I'm a little bit more positive!!

Nemo1977 · 07/03/2005 12:40

aww george dont leave hun..is it poss u missed ov? i have a friend who did thta thought of was cd day 14 but it was around 10 instead...take care hun and hope u had a nice weekend

Bella23 · 07/03/2005 12:50

yea agree, don't leave us - we need to share the madness around, it dilutes it!
I do think its possible to miss OV, as a real muppet using any device I don't think I've ever actually managed to have a clear green light for ov!
As for getting obsessed - inevitable for me I am afradi, i've just accepted that!

Nemo1977 · 07/03/2005 12:55

lol bella
i agree about obsessed
u know i had 10pg tests at start of month i now have 2 and am on cd32 out of up to 35 i think and still getting bfn my fingers just itch away to test

dyzzidi · 07/03/2005 13:32

I think we all get obsessed although I don't think it is the same for Men

Slink · 07/03/2005 14:06

I am obseesed oh yes sireee, well had some ickie stuff so did a ov test and i am ov but i am not supposed apparetnley till thurs, so met dh for lunch told him that tonites the night.

Just a Q: what supplements do you take?? i am just taking folic acid is that ok??

Bella23 · 07/03/2005 14:15

Slink - I take the Sanatogen pronatal. I don't think you need anything apart from folic acid.
I love the fact you have told your DH that tonight is the night, glad to hear it is not just me

dramaqueen72 · 07/03/2005 14:25

woah ladies stop talking so much! i cant keep up!!
bella, i am now using acon opks -well about to use last one- and have NEVER had a dark line -do you think its them partly? half of me wanted tos ave money and nwo the other half of me wants to buy the most expensive type to use instead! am i mad?
i think EVERYONE needs to rant and rave a few times a month when ttc. the waiting ofr O is ridiculous, the ttc week (which i'm in) is hard and stressful to get the bd-ing right and often enough. the 2ww drives you CRACKERS (and mishi -we all test 50+ times before af shows, its what we do, its my other hobby!) and then of course af depresses you.and then off the cycle goes again! so we are bound to lose it.
at times, yes it does rule my life, but day to day i'm doing fairly well at being busy and such. somethings smack me in the face abit -maternity clthes displays in town this morning got me biting my lip, and feel sad for a moment. but until i get a BFN this cycle aint over! so no point in getting tooo depressed yet. dh has been fab, but worklife has been difficult for him and that does affect our ttc, as hes in a foul mood sometimes and I'm not approaching him when hes like that!!!! thanks for advice on other thread bella. deep breathing as we speak!
well off to do opk, not expecting anything other than a medium coloured line AGAIN!!!!!

dyzzidi · 07/03/2005 14:32

You all keep talking about OPK's I think I will have to try them but I am going to wait until my fibroid removal op I think.

Are they expensive?

dramaqueen72 · 07/03/2005 14:36

no! dont try them!!! they drive you mad!! i currently get mine either from an online chemist or ebay, they are very cheap then you get the dip strip thin paper-y type. or Boots and similar sell one more like pg tests, those are expensive tho! and then you spend forever (and ever) trying to mathc the test line with your LH surge line - if you just get two lines you are NOT Ovulating, the lines must be the same darkness........ so spend several minutes peering under different lights if youre like me!!! they are not good for your health!!!!!

Bella23 · 07/03/2005 14:40

You can get cheapy ones from the internet but the jury seems out on which is best etc. I think most people would like to use the cleablue digital which gives you a smiley face when you ov but they are very expensive

romilly · 07/03/2005 15:06

hi - just been away for weekend and looks like i've got my reading backlog cut out! havent had a chance to catch up with the news yet, but hope you're all busy bd'ing/testing/charting/baking or whatever.

speak soon

wendy11 · 07/03/2005 15:18

Hello ladies,
Popping in quickly as busy at work and Mum is involved in an art exhibition this week so will probably get roped into helping her in the evenings but hopefully get some time to catch up on all the coming and goings of this thread. Hope everyone is in a positive frame of mind and good luck to all whatever stage you are at at the moment.

yingers74 · 07/03/2005 15:20

dyz - as dq says opks can be very expensive and incredibly irritating, I spent a fair amount of the boots and ebay type and never got the surge yet am now pregnant! I have heard someone else talking about a saliva test thing and have seen them on ebay, i think they might be better value for money. I think the boots type can cost up to twenty pounds and only contain 7 sticks.

MizZan · 07/03/2005 15:38

hey - let me be the one voice in favour of OPKs here! I used clearblue ones (line kind, not digital kind) the first month we were TTC #2, got the magic two dark lines around CD 16, did the deed, and bingo - pregnant. Too bad it didn't last. Now trying them again on 2nd cycle post-MC and like you all got very frustrated (and broke) testing day after day and seeing nothing, gave up for a week...then all of a sudden on CD 27 saw some EWCM, decided to try one last ov test even though it seemed totally unlikely given the timing, and amazingly, the two dark lines popped up - so it did happen, just way late. Naturally DH had to leave on bus. trip the next day but we did try...now for the evil 2 week wait.

the big downside of these things is the cost, esp. if you have had a recent miscarriage I guess cycles can be so messed up (like mine) that you have no idea when to test and end up going through many many many of them. am in process of ordering more through my sis in the US, about 1/3 the price of here.

wendy11 · 07/03/2005 15:52

Romilly
Hope I am right that it is you who records their temperature (I get so confused with who does what). I have a Boots BBT pack but I have noticed that my thermometer really only records temperatures ending in 8 or 9 ie 36.49, 36.78 etc. I looked at the reading yesterday morning and it was 36.74 but when I turned it off and back on again it stayed on the memory as 36.69. Totally confused about this and just wondered if you get a different range of readings on yours. Soetimes I wonder am I mad doing all these things to ttc as it just stresses me out most of the time - has my temperature gone up, is it going to fall and those few day before af shows are hell. Needless to say af due tomorrow so probably just completley irrational today.

dramaqueen72 · 07/03/2005 16:18

yes well i'd just like to retract my negative opk commments as just got a very clear two dark lines on my last one!!!!woooohoooo!

Bella23 · 07/03/2005 16:25

YE HA DQ - watch out Hubby, she's a woman on a mission!!
Sympsthies to those on the 2 week wait. I am on CD23 of either a 28 or 32 day cycle. Getting through this weekend coming up without testing is going to be a challenge !!

romilly · 07/03/2005 16:38

ok i'm back and i've caught up with all your news.

firstly, a belated but warm welcome to Teatime,
great to have you with us and i really hope this works out for you (and all of the rest of us too for that matter!)

i agree with bella that the best OPKs are the clearblue digital smiley face ones - no messing around line-guessing. but sadly, they are pricey. thats why i invested in the persona monitor. how are you getting on with yours bella? actually maybe you are waiting for next AF to start come to think of it. be interested to hear what you make of it.

last but not least - found the 'men' as sensitive souls discussion interesting! anyone who knows me on this thread - from previous thread - knows i can relate to that little dilemma. (honey, im ovulating 2nite...) i have to agree its something of a passion-killer dqueen - u r SO lucky your d/h is so into the whole ttc "knowledge" you have no idea!
