OK well not sure my title is good enough really and feel honoured you let me start the thread. So heres to a new month and new start on my cycle! TTC is going to be a very nervous and aprehensive time for me but i know oyu are all in the same boat and with your support im sure i can do it. So im on day 1 of my cycle. Should ov on day 10 although am not certain if D&C has mucked up my ovulation but will guess that. Am almost thinking that im ttc just to lose another baby and i know thats wrong but cant help it. With 2 mc already its hard to believe it will ever happen for me and DH and im almost convinced i will never see a healthy happy 12 week bean. Ok enough doom and gloom.

HERES TO ALL OF US WHO ARE NERVOUSLY TTC AND MAY LUCK AND FAIRY DUST SHOWER OVER US IN THESE COMING MONTHS!

cadmum - so sorry about AF hon. welcome to the april club.

yes i second the idea for friday april fools thread! can i start it, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaase please! unless george wants to of course, it was your idea.

ROFL george at pg test because you felt fat!!! nothing to be ashamed of - reckon you're probably fitter than the rest of us put together

cadmum - my results were that no abnormalities were detected. cant help thinking thats actually not a good thing. mind you, they pointed out that it was inconclusive because it was a female karyotype so they couldnt differentiate between maternal tissue and fetal.

Cadmum · 30/03/2005 20:46

George: Am having trouble with that link...and realitly in general today! At least you laughed. A new thread sounds excellent! One small request: Can we please (pretty please) avoid the use of the word lucky in the title?
Romilly: I never know if it is a good thing when no abnormalities are detected...Only makes you wonder why even more iykwim. Inconclusive is even worse. Sorry, How do you feel? I can imagine that it must cause more you more confusion and frustration (not to mention the 3 month wait).
Following our third miscarriage I was assured that they would run every test they could but they were all either negative or inconclusive as well.

Cadmum · 30/03/2005 20:48

George: meant to say that I would have to test nearly every day if my weight gain were the only symptom... Go girl. Sorry it was BFN!

dramaqueen72 · 31/03/2005 00:41

LOL girlies, oderchristmasbaby.com is crashing due to over use....and apparently theres a back order problem......{grinning}
George, think my dhs interest in all this came about due to second m/c, he just kept asking questions at the hospital....'its one of those things' is never good enough for him.....then i began to show him sites -or rather- bits on sites about why it happens, and so he started to ask questions to me about how and when what hormone or whatever does what in my cycle.
trust me there are times when him knowing this well is NOT a good thing. but its a sort of closer bond this time, I felt very much alone after our first m/c trying to get pg and take on the world by myself, iyswim! both he and I just cant stop saying its amazing how ANYONE ever gets pg/gives birth because thats how you feel isnt it? when you find out some facts about it....like roms statistics previously. I'll get him to teach your dhs about it if something they do well rubs off on MY dh....like ooooh, you know, helping out around the home? not eating crap food in front of children just as i'm launching into my healthy eating 'no e numbers' lecture.....? bringing me breakfast in bed? that kinda thing!
Rom, am sorry the results were no help, we were never offered such tests, simply told it wouldnt help until we'd had three -and three in a row, as if having dd2 made this one any less painful!!!-I should imagine after all the waiting 'inconclusive' is a crappy crappy result. BUT, of course, tho it doesnt help the 'whys' in your head, hopefully it means theres no darn reason you cant get og successfully this cycle right?
Gosh george!!! if YOU who haunts the gym feels fat theres no hope for me!!!!
WWEIRD spooky/silly thing happened today, you guys will love this!, went to weymouth for 'day out' and there was old fashioned victorian arcade where we were, so children took great delight in putting pennies in slots and seeing silly things happen, sticking heads thro wooden picture people for funny photos etc etc.......and then my dd1 had a go ona fortune teller machine...(have you seen the film 'Big'? just like that machine.....) and out pops this 'fortune' card that starts off with
'the stork is soon visiting someone you know well and you will be delighted at their happy news of twins! twin baby girls will be born soon.......' I nearly fell on the floor!!!! dhs face was a picture! pmsl!!! i'm not sure i can do twins tho eh?!

Nemo1977 · 31/03/2005 09:19

hi all
well i am officially on my 2ww..ye ha roll on 2 weeks for more stick peeing on..lol I have a really really good feeling this month...dont know y but i just think it will be this month....sound like a right fruit loop dont i...lol
take care all
are we due any testers????

Bella23 · 31/03/2005 09:28

Morning all ladies!
DQ - Lordy Lord, what a fortune to be told, how hilarious!! I bet you nearly fell to the floor!{grin]
George - bless on the testing, this ttc lark really does make us all behave like quackers doesn't it Never mind, you will get one soon.
Right April is a lucky month because its my birthday so guess what I want for a present??? Yep you guessed it, a BFP! So if you ladies want to arrange a collection and then pay it over to whoever is dealing out BFP's these days then that would be fab!
Definately need a new thread tomorrow - who's going to do the honours?

george32 · 31/03/2005 10:12

Morning everyone.
Rom, are you feeling optimistic and surrounded in baby dust?? I've no objections to you starting the new thread - just make it a good one. (No pressure!)
Can you make sure no mention of the word "lucky" in the title through for Cadmum?

DQ, thats it, your fate is sealed by the fortune teller machine! If you do get p/g this month & it's twins, can you imagine how busy the machine is going to be!! Following your luck, I have just opened a fortune cookie left over from DPs Chinese last night. "Happiness is coming to me next weekend"....could it be a sign of O at last or just that DP will speak to me???

Ooh Bella, what date is your birthday?

Right off to the gym again so I can attempt to fit back in my clothes!! Please remember everyone, I am so not fit, I am the official couch potato usually and have managed to put on a stone in weight (not a baby!! ).
I'm getting scared by the whole ½ marathon thing (is it too optimistic for a total non runner to do??) so myself & DP have entered a 5 mile run in May so I can assess how I'm doing (ie, do I collapse half way round??? ) Plus we can make a start on collecting some money for Tommys.
Cup of tea first though I think!!

dramaqueen72 · 31/03/2005 12:11

love hearing from you george, you always make me smile...cup of tea sounds fab, no sugar just milk thanks.
okay Rom start the new thread, (you go girl!) but put a link here for blonde natured people (ie;me!!!) or I'll never find you......
george..if that bloody machine gives me twins ...well not sure what I'll do. thats the thing with just having 'one last baby' what on earth do you do if you get two? we WILL be the waltons here then! but it was so funny to hear the fortune -
hope your fortune cookie means O for you and that dh speaks to you anyhow. they are stubborn old souls arent they??!
been scrapbooking all morning, fabulous skive from actual parenting dh ahs taken 'big' two swimming, cleaner is here and little dd2 is just about sleeping in front of balamory , ah, calm and quiet...lovely!
yey Bella, my dh is also april b-day. when are you?
no smiley face for me yet, due between now and tuesday so need to bite tongue and not argue with dh over anything..eeeek!

Bella23 · 31/03/2005 13:01

Afternoon ladies,
My birthday is on the 26th which makes me a Taurus which is totally me, stubborn to the hilt!
Having a few defeatist thoughts today, have one more week before I can test but already know that it will be a BFN. How do you all feel in the 2 week wait? Do you have similar thoughts rolling round? I know I am being silly, I think its because so many people have told me that they all know people who had m/c and then ERPC and then got pregnant in the next month so am feeling a bit dispondant that I'm not one of them......mmm
Sorry about that, just having a "feeling sorry for myself" moment!
George - from one couch potatoe to another, a 5 mile run is a great achievement - GO GIRL
A couple of my friends who love smoking and drinking and are not your usual runner types did a half marathon recently and they managed it so I have faith that you will do it with great success!

romilly · 31/03/2005 13:25

oh goodie - thanks george!!! just have to work out how to do the link for you all now and LOL, dqueen but i am blonde too!! so if i cock it up someone else may have to direct you all for me..

so girls what shall we call it? we promise to give "lucky" a wide berth cadmum - how about TTC for the chatty!!!

or TTC: www.orderyourbabyhere.com

any other suggestions???

hereshoping · 31/03/2005 14:13

bella - cope with 2ww by bding - (there was a study a few yrs back saying that people dont always ov at d14 but often in first 10 or last 10 days on cycle) Though I suppose the opks that I have never used take the uncertainty away. DQ my DH is pulling out all the stops this time coz i felt v neglected after first mc too. He said last night we should just bd on alternate days thru entire cycle! not sure Ill have the stamina for that
www.orderyour xmas baby.com made me laugh properly for the first time since last mc!
you could always pass one of those twins this way Dq if they are too much to cope with... I now have sad twin fantasies thou my friend who has them told me ' I cant believe how misguided you actually are'..

Cadmum · 31/03/2005 14:26

Can't wait for the new thread! Thank you for being so considerate regarding the word lucky... Doesn't really matter what you call it as long as we can find it (especially the blonde among us!
DQ I can imagine how much of a shock the fortune must have been. I know from experience that it is an immense shock to find out that you are expecting twins (dh and I both nearly fell over!) but not as bad as losing them. Now I long to have had the chance to find out if I could have managed two... Sorry for being a misery...
AF has not properly come on so now I am doing the usual 'could this be an implantation bleed' routine... I am feeling confused because for the last two months I have been certain that I did not ovulate but then my af doesn't really amount to much. I wish I didn't lend my Toni Weshler book to my sil; we aren't close enough that I could ask her to look this up for me. ARGH!

romilly · 31/03/2005 14:49

cadmum - i have the toni weschler book at home - tell me what you want looked up and i will do it for you when i get back from work. she does also have the website

here

romilly · 31/03/2005 14:51

oooh it worked! not so blonde after all

Cadmum · 31/03/2005 15:01

thanks romilly! You are brilliant. I am very impressed that you made the link work.
Not too sure what exactly I would look up. Hmmmm. I remember reading something about anovulatory bleeding but I can't recall if she said that the bleed would appear the same as menstrual period of if would be lighter...
When did I start to care about such things?

romilly · 31/03/2005 17:17

well actually i have to admit the link didnt work first time i tried so still a bit blonde

on way home shortly so will see if i can find anything about anovulatory bleeding cadmum..

dramaqueen72 · 31/03/2005 18:01

afternoon ladies,
Rom, love sound of new thread with funny link in title. bring it on, april is our month!!!
Bella, hun, hang in there, i do the whole roller coaster of emotions, first of all I feel absolutely certain I'm pg, that we got the egg so to speak. thenas the test date approaches i sink, lower and lower until i totally 'know' i'm not pg. infact when i WAS pg with dd2, i nearly didnt even bother testing, thats how crampy and crap i felt. i just 'knew' af was about to arrive...and .......er..she never did!!! my friends still tease me about that.
hereshoping and cadmum, I'm sorry i didnt mean to be flippant about being forecast twins.....it didnt come across how i meant it. of course twins are a blessing. tho I'm 10000% honestly saying that I'd struggle like heck to handle the news if it ever happened. sorry, tactless and blonde, fabulous....
cadmum, i've never had implanting bleeding...or known anyone with it either.so i'm slightly cynical of it, but i also hope its that for you.

uh-oh bella, your b-day is a few days from my dhs, I cant imagine you being that stubborn, hes a nightmare! you sound much more mellow!

dramaqueen72 · 31/03/2005 18:03

p.s. rom, yes, please stay just a little blonde,-mentally that is!whatever your actual hair colour- cause i need the company!

romilly · 31/03/2005 19:53

dont worry dqueen - i'll always have my blonde moments

ok cadmum - this is what toni weschler has to say;

Anovulatory Bleeding and Spotting
Occasionally women don't release an egg, for several reasons. One is that oestrogen doesnt reach the necessary threshold for the egg to be released. When this happens the drop in oestrogen is enough to cause a slight shedding of the lining of the uterus. At other times, oestrogen may continue to stimulate the growth of the uterine lining to such an extent that it cant support itself sufficiently, and breakthrough bleeding occurs. In women over 40, the cause of annovulatory bleeding is often the result of a decreased sensitivity to the hormones FSH and LH. The result is that the woman may not ovulate, and without progesterone to sustain the lining, spotting or bleeding may occur. In all these cases though, the bleeding is not technically menstruation.

The way to determine if a woman did indeed ovulate is through charting the temperature. Remember, ovulatory cycles reflect a classic temp. pattern of low before ovulation followed by high after.

Cadmum - dont know if that is the part you wanted, she then talks about implantation spotting very briefly saying that would happen about a week after ovulation, when a little spotting may occur.

im sure you knew all that stuff, thats all i could find. HTH!

romilly · 31/03/2005 19:56

p.s. do you chart your temps cadmum? guess that would help...

dramaqueen72 · 01/04/2005 00:09

new thread new thread, oh where is the new thread..sorry, being impatient here, it IS april now only by minutes tho!!

Cadmum · 01/04/2005 02:39

Thank you romilly! That is exactly the part that I was thinking of. I don't really know what to think at this stage as this is the second month of light bleeding following no obvious sign of ovulation. Could even be that I am WAY too stressed out! I would love to temp but our youngest has sleep apnea and I have not had a three hour stretch of sleep since he was born. (except when I was in Victoria with my mum...
DQ I am likely being too sensitive about the twins comment. Sorry.
Interestingly, I had implantation bleed with DS1, M/C1, DS2 and M/C2 but not with DD or M/C3... Proving that every pregnancy and every woman is different. I actually bled heavily enough with DS1 that I thought it was af.

See you all on the new thread tomorrow.
