OK well not sure my title is good enough really and feel honoured you let me start the thread. So heres to a new month and new start on my cycle! TTC is going to be a very nervous and aprehensive time for me but i know oyu are all in the same boat and with your support im sure i can do it. So im on day 1 of my cycle. Should ov on day 10 although am not certain if D&C has mucked up my ovulation but will guess that. Am almost thinking that im ttc just to lose another baby and i know thats wrong but cant help it. With 2 mc already its hard to believe it will ever happen for me and DH and im almost convinced i will never see a healthy happy 12 week bean. Ok enough doom and gloom.

HERES TO ALL OF US WHO ARE NERVOUSLY TTC AND MAY LUCK AND FAIRY DUST SHOWER OVER US IN THESE COMING MONTHS!

Hi Romilly, feel really silly, I have introduced myself on a different TTC thread but have been lurking quietly on here too, and got them confused! hope you don't mind. I probably don't qualify as a TTC quite yet (now that sounds strange surely you either are or are not? lol) Thanks for the welcome, and hope you don't mind me sitting here quietly. Have a good evening and hope the sun shines for every one tomorrow. x

romilly · 20/03/2005 22:36

good luck with opk's nemo

yes yellowbear - you guessed opk's correctly. don't worry about your early bfn - 7dpo is far too early! apparently the average time for a positive HPT is 13.6 dpo - and although you hear about people getting a + at 7-10 dpo - it is VERY rare and not the norm. i will be testing mid next week if you know what hasnt appeared. not feeling optimistic unfortunately.

harrizeb - no need to apologize sweetie! you are very welcome to lurk

wendy11 · 21/03/2005 09:41

Morning Ladies,

Well still no on OPK. Not sure what is going on as normlly ov on day 11 and now day 12 and still nothing, although temps still haven't gone up so BDing anyway
After a beautiful weekend weather wise, got up this morning to rain, rain and more rain. The dogs didn't even want to go out this morning. Going to be outisde most of the day as well so looks like waterproofs required.

Hope everyone has a good day. Catch up later

Bella23 · 21/03/2005 09:47

Morning all ladies,
Well I survived my weekend with my parents, involved a lot of alcohol though..oops!
DQ - oh honey, sorry AF arrived, bugger! Right well Xmas baby it is then, just got to get this week out of the way and then some more serious bding Your DS will be having a fab time ski-ing so try not to miss him too much. As for your DH feeling a little fragile, well its difficult isn't it, so hard to know what the right thing to say to them is as everything tends to come out wrong in those situations. I hope he is feeling a little better this week.
Rom - so testing this week, what day so? Everything is so spring like, we need a BFP from you, keeping everything sooooo crossed!
Hereshopping, yes am using persona, first month. I am on CD10 and really hoping it is going to show me an OV sign this week. Going to try a different tactic this month and am going to bd every night this week. I suggest you get it unwrapped as even just using it you feel more positive as it feels like you are actuallt doing something to help ttc, I know that sounds a little sad but it does!
Pink Diamond, sorry AF arrives but sounds like there will be lots of Xmas babies so onwards for next month.
Yellowbear - keeping things crossed for you - are you testing this weekend?
Cadmum - still thinking of you and your mum
Right well ladies, better do some work. I have missed you all this weekend........altogether now ARH!!!!!!!

george32 · 21/03/2005 10:00

Morning everyone, welcome to Harrizeb.

Sorry about your AF PinkD and your BFN YellowBear .

DQ so sorry your AF arrived, not been the best of weeks for you this week . Is this your DS skiing trip? I hope he has a fantastic time. How is DP now, any brighter? My DP has suffered from depression for 10 years so I know how hard it can be when the spiral starts. I never know what to say or do to make things better (or not make things worse) so usually just try to keep busy & out of his way. ADs and a shrink have made things better though. We are seeing the shrink together at the mo (following a rough patch after the m/c) and it's working wonders. He is just so clever.

This month I have stopped being so obsessed and started actually enjoying BDing rather than going through the motions (TMI or is this normal after m/c?). Going to BD at least every other day this month & see what happens. Obviously I'm still temping and who knows what will happen if persona comes up with an O but staying calm!!!
Hereshoping- unwrap, unwrap, Persona are fantastic, coloured lights and everything!
Welcome back Bella, you must be well into the stick testing by now, any sign of O yet?

Good luck with the OPKs Nemo & Wendy, hope you see a this week.

Babydust for everyone (Christmas babies for lots of us I think!)
Good luck Rom & Y Bear for testing this week. xx

george32 · 21/03/2005 10:03

Oh Rom, forgot to say, I've just gone back to the gym to start training for this half marathon & I'm not sure whether it's good or bad. (Either way, it's killing me, can't walk today!!)
Shall I start a new thread asking if anyone knows if it can do any harm?

Bella23 · 21/03/2005 10:23

George - am on CD 10 on persona, what are you on?
Am hoping to see O sign this week

george32 · 21/03/2005 10:43

Hi Bella, I'm CD 8 so start the daily testing from tomorrow.
We seem to have started the Persona fan club!!

dramaqueen72 · 21/03/2005 11:00

morning ladies. am not doom and gloom monster today so thought i could check in!
welcome home bella, i missed you.
good luck with the impending O signal.
I'm currently looking on line for those smiley face opks!!!!!!!!! frustratingly, fertilityfriend and conception store disagree about my O day next month, so i had better be well armed. found pack of 7 smiley face ones fro £18.72..think thats the best deal? unless you guys know different??
DETERMINED to get the egg this cycle. and dh is also saying sucha thing. thanks for asking george- hes doing okay, seems to have reached a stop point and is alittle brighter.
yes ds is away skiing now, eek. miss him. managed to track his flights on line and know when he had landed taken off, transferred etc etc.... now just peeking at webcams of his resort to see the place. even at 13 you still think of them as your baby! littlest dd misses him so much, she keeps on and on about him having gone a 'hareplane' bless.
well housework beckons -ugh- so will check in you guys later. have a good morning all.

romilly · 21/03/2005 12:37

hi girls. busier today i see

nice to have you back bella, you are always so chirpy. i really hope you get that 0 on persona this week, it is soooooooo exciting (and scary!).

LOL george at flashing coloured lights! i get a real kick out of opening my persona each day too! and YES to the checking out the exercise effects on ttc'ing thread. i have been wondering for a while what the effect might be, and with your marathon training i think you definitely need to know. let me know if you start one.

wendy - good luck with opk's and where do you live that it is raining? its gorgeous here

hi dqueen - sounds a good price for the smileys - they are 22.99 in boots for 7. glad d/h is a bit brighter this week.

where are u yellowbear - i'm getting nervous that AF is on its way before i'll get a chance to test with you god, i hope not. would so love it to be this month. babydust to us all.

Worriedbev · 21/03/2005 12:49

Hi ladies

Hope you all had a good weekend.

I have started the Oxford Conception Study and using a ditigal opk tester which they sent me. I am on day 8 of cycle and started testing on day 6, on day 6 fertility was low, but on day 8 it went high with a little egg in the top shaded bit. Dos anyone know what this means. It says it is high fertility, but how long does the high fertility bit last. Bedded DH last night but dont want to wear him out as someone said the high fertility bit is guess work to start off with and may last a long time, can anyone enlighten me on this. I thought day 8 would be far too early to be ovulating.

Bev

romilly · 21/03/2005 13:20

hi worriedbev - an opk will peak when it has detected your luteinizing hormone surge which means you will ovulate in the next 48 hours. are there no instructions with your kit?

Bella23 · 21/03/2005 13:44

Afternoon ladies
WorriedBev - sorry no advice, think you need to study the instructions. Day 8 does sound a bit early though!
DQ - bless your little one saying hareplane....arh I want her! I like the sound of your determination, sounds good and I do think a month of the smiley face opks is the way forward. I was sneakily going to use them along side persona but all the Boots near me have sold out...obviously by all the other ttc ladies out there! I just can't face any more "2 line" ones as need something a bit more simple I think. Am going to just stick to Persona and wait for the magic "O" symbol.
Rom - keeping everything crossed for you, what day are you hoping to test?
Well we are getting the garden done starting next week and am very excited. We started off getting quotes for the patio and ended up thinking sod it lets get the whole thing done. Hopefully after about 3 weeks it should look totally different - new patio, different borders, new lawn, trees, plants etc. The drawing looks fab so fingers crossed. We are naughtily using the money that we saved up to pay off our debt left over from our wedding last June but looks like that will have to hold off for a while!

george32 · 21/03/2005 13:52

Rom, I've started a new thread about exercise so hopefully someone will have some idea.

I'm very jealous Bella . I've been trying to plan a garden myself as I don't really like the plants that are in ours so keep digging them up but not replacing them because I don't know what to put in! Can I be nosy & ask how much it is costing you to have done? Won't it be lovely for you to have a whole new garden for the summer.

george32 · 21/03/2005 13:54

Off to the gym now before anyone says it is really bad for me!!

Bella23 · 21/03/2005 14:07

George - garden is going to cost 6k in total. A large proportion of this cost is due to the patio as paving is just so bloody expensive as even if you go for cheaper stone the labour is a lot. We have spent a year doing stuff ourselves, filled in a pond, cut down 15 fir trees etc but then just decided we needed some drastic help as it really is all back breaking work and we wouldn't know where to start in laying a patio etc! We will be living on tins of beans for the rest of the year though as a result!

romilly · 21/03/2005 14:31

thanks for starting that thread george. lets hope someone knows!

bella - i sneakily used the smiley opks alongside persona first couple of months, but each time they agreed on surge time, so i would save yourself some pennies! re: your question: i am trying V. hard not to think about testing yet so i havent decided!

Cadmum · 21/03/2005 15:39

Hello all!
DQ I am sorry. Christmas baby does sound lovely though. Chin up for this cycle.
My mum is still in the hospital and feeling rather low... She may need to be sent back up to OR for the pace maker and I was planning on returning home tomorrow. My dad would like me to extend my visit so that I can help my mum settle back in a home but I am feeling conflicted because I am of little use to anyone here while she is feeling so ill. (I visit 3 times a day for 10-15 minutes and then she begs me to leave so she can rest.) She has not eaten anything as she is constantly nauseated so I can't imagine that she will be home any time soon.
My family, on the other hand, are holding up well without me. They had a very busy week-end and dh is managing beautifully.
I am exhausted but my plan to forget all about ttc seems to have worked! I have forgotted what CD I am on and I have not looked for symptoms at all. (Still wouldn't recommend a crisis to helf the 2ww.)

Cadmum · 21/03/2005 15:48

Just went back through the thread to figure out CD and I am on CD 27...I am just not really sure if/when I OVed... Don't feel pg but don't feel like af is around the corner either. Stress does funny things to fertility so no wonder we are all having this exended wait because what could be more stressful than ttc cautiously?!?

DQ I sure can relate to missing your son! I am desperate to get home to my crew.

wendy11 · 21/03/2005 15:53

Cadmum - Sorry your mum is not recovering as quickly as hoped. Just take it one day at a time. She will need time to build up her strength again and is probably worring about herself. Would it be an option to return home as you had planned tomorrow and then go back to see you Mum when she is out of hospital? Sound like your family are surviving very well in your absence. Dh will probably have them spoit rotten and it will take you ages to get them back in line! Really hope everything works out for you.

Romilly - I live in Northern Ireland and it is misty and literally chucking it down in buckets today. Really of your good weather.

DQ - you have got a good deal on you smiley faced OPK's. I paid £22.99 in semi-chem last week. So far no smiley face, so a bit disappointed but I am detemined to see that so will continue testing.

Cadmum · 21/03/2005 15:58

Wendy. Thanks for the advice...I could think about that option but it is a 4 3/4 hour flight followed by and 1 1/2 hour ferry trip and the price is through the roof at the moment. Spring break and Easter etc etc...I would only be about 50 quid (sorry no poundS sign on my Canadian computer) to change my return flight to a later date... Need to do some serious thinking.

Cadmum · 21/03/2005 15:59

Should say It would only be...

Nemo1977 · 21/03/2005 15:59

hi all
just quick one as adam wants something
Re opks my friend told me today that apparently the best time to test is 2-2.30pm each day and not to have peed b4...hard for some i know but am going to try and do it this month, have also just emailed the oxford conception study to try and sign up so lets hope for some on the opks
good luck all

cadmum..hope ur mum perks up soon
