Ooh, forgot to say - what are the abbreviations 'CD' in your roll call list and how does it work? I've seen references to being 'put back at the bottom...' what's that all about then?? Sorry to be thick. Dont want to add myself and do it wrong and bugger it all up for the rest of you!

squally · 28/10/2008 20:40

MamiMimi - big congratulations on your bfp!,what a fantastic surprise but also v.sorry to hear about your mil, it must be a very difficult time for you and dp.
yellow flowers, i've been and checked on peeonastick and CB tests (the not digital ones) are apparently a bit crap with showing faint +ve lines when there aren't any. something about the dye bleeding into the reagent strip or something. (bit technical). so i did a CB digital this morning and guess what - still bfn. thought it was all in my mind. Although i'm still not due af til sunday, so cant decide whether to test again tomorrow which would be four days before af (when they're supposed to be able to used)and waste another one or wait until thurs or fri?? have absolutely no patience.

liahGeneMutatedMonster · 28/10/2008 20:43

squally, i am so with you.

af due sat but am definately not testing again till then. fed up of seeing bloody single lines. lol

First response on buy one get one free in boots. 4 tests in all. Bargain.

squally · 28/10/2008 20:45

sorry, meant mamamimi of course (it's been a long long day).

squally · 28/10/2008 20:56

will try try try not to test until thursday at earliest, got two tests left one CB and one CB digital, have spent enough this month. But if both bfn and get af then will be hot footing it down to boots for bogof first response for next month.

HomeintheSun · 28/10/2008 21:02

MamiMimi congratulation on your BFP and so sorry to hear of your loss.

Well I'm on cd24, I'm sure my boobs are bigger and they are a bit tender. on Sunday I had a tiny bit of spotting, I'm trying not to get my hopes up because I wasn't even going to symptom spot. I think I can maybe test on Monday.

pinkie08 · 28/10/2008 21:05

Hi liah

thanks for that will def. try one if AF doesnt arrive as usually get small show a couple of days before which gives me an idea that its on its way.

I've cut and pasted you all and added me onto the bottom. Hopefully that's the right thing to do!

Thank you for all the congrats (and the condolences)

I had honestly disregarded being pg this month as I have felt so crap with so many things and I am still wondering which time worked 'cos I didn't think we had BD'd at the right time at all, so maybe I've been wrong about the timing all along.

Or it might be that because I didn't feel up to really going for it this month the times when we have BD'd have been purely for pleasure () rather than with planning and timing in mind - I think there could be something to say for that 'cos I've heard many tales of women getting fed up of trying, forgetting about it and then becoming pg without actively trying.

I think the moral is 'try and stay relaxed about it rather than stressing and fretting'. I know, I know....that's much easier said than done but I believe it could help, it's seems to have been how it has worked for us.

The other thing I wanted to say to those of you continuing ttc is 'don't think it will never happen' - it took us 13 months but it happened.

I am keeping my fingers tightly crossed for all of you and sprinkling baby dust all around to cover everyone.

Thanks yellowflowers and bexaa.

Re the giving birth in 8 months bexaa, I just hope it will be as easy as it was with dd - that was a doddle. I'm wondering this time round whether I will actually feel any pain. It will come as a shock if I do!!

BTW Pinkie08, the CB digi I used was the free one I got through MN with the conception indicator. They have them in 'Bodycare' though(do you have one near you?), in a twin pack for £10.99.

Belgrano · 29/10/2008 22:46

Mamamimi, how did you make giving birth a doddle? I want to hear more!! Congratulations on your BFP, yay! But sorry to hear about your MIL.
Also can someone please tell me - what are these CB tests that tell you how many weeks you are? I see references to them on these boards, but haven't been able to find any in Boots. They sound tempting for someone like me who is a compulsive tester...

Issy42 · 29/10/2008 23:51

Belgrano - this is the link to the clearblue site and they have a bid ad for the tests on the first page: www.clearblue.info/uk/index.php

spats · 30/10/2008 16:06

i have just got a pos on my opk at cd19. later than i thought. i was panicking i wasn't ovulating as thought it would be over weekend so we bd fri-tues. Thought that was over for the month. Did a sneaky opk today for some reason, good job i did as it came up straight away as pos. Will have to bd tonight and tom as well!! Thats quite late to ovulate isn't it?

pinkie08 · 30/10/2008 16:13

Hi spats

sometimes it happens abit later than others, the actual significant bit is that your AF should arrive 14 days after you ov.

(Although consultant told me from 12 days is classed as normal.)

On the sperm meets egg plan it says do HPT 14 days after +ive OPK so start counting yeah you!!

yellowflowers · 30/10/2008 16:44

Can anyone remind me details of sperm meets egg plan - thanks

OP posts:
pinkie08 · 30/10/2008 17:45

Hi yellow

I have followed it this month and really felt that was doing something proactive, even if someone else doesnt agree with it i found it morale boosting.

Basically, you start bding from day 8 every other day. Start OPKs on day 10 and keep testing til get +ive (It says to buy 10) so giving you plenty of scope to get that +ive. You then bd on the day of +ive and 2 more days then have a gap and then do the next day. You then do HPT 14 days after +ive OPK test. It has quite good results listed.

find full details here

Hope it helps, let us know what you think

XX

pinkie08 · 30/10/2008 17:46

sorry its 15 days after for HPT(if you can last that long)

spats · 30/10/2008 18:51

wow pinkie what an informative website, if a little bit scary. 75%of eggs don't make it, how do we ever get pg. Got some serious bd to do now.thanks for that x

pinkie08 · 30/10/2008 18:57

Hi spats

I guess its the other side of "you have a 25%chance of pg each month." which all books and docs seem to quote at me.

I really liked her info hopefully it works. There was someone on another thread that said she used it for 4 months and got pg obviously not sure if it was the plan or just her actual chance to get pg. The way i look at it is i dont care which bit works so long as we get those BFPs

ok have being doing ebay cheapies every morning since Monday, nothing, not a sausage.

Have felt like I have been about to start at any minute, and have been having the strangest dreams.

Anyway on the way to work tonight stopped at sainsburys and bought a 2 pack of their tests....

Have just done one and its positive

Feel awful for doing it now though, and not doing it with dp.

Also think dp thought it would take much longer so slightly worried that he will go into shock.

My head is spinning!
