Hi guys - we've had May and June, so may July be third thread lucky. I am a July baby myself. All welcome.

hi littlecheese, sorry, just lurking and saw you asking about cheapie tests. I used 2 ebay cheapies and got such a faint faint line after 5 mins I thought it was my imagination at first. Had to hold it to the light to see it. When I did the clearblue digital it came up pregnant within a few mins and it was so easy to just have a straight yes or no answer.

LittleCheese · 24/10/2008 19:05

Hi Fb thats what i was thinking about the tests, but then i was also thinking maybe i should just wait as even though im never late it could just be AF playing tricks as i have already had 2 negatives and do i want to spend all that money just for the privelage of a BFN

On a happier note we changed DD's cotbed into a bed tonight so she is in her "big girls bed" for the first time and she is so excited, and hasnt climbed or fallen out yet (why is she growing up so quickly )

Issy42 · 24/10/2008 20:31

Starting to wonder whether I've given the correct info for the list. I'm trying to conceive first child and have been trying for 9 cycles, so is that ttc#1 or ttc#9? Sorry am new to this (and sorry for not realising needed to update the cd when I pasted the list).

Littlecheese - the jury's still out for me on tests - came across a thread from a google search a while ago about how people couldn't read FR tests, but that was before the new 6 day early ones, so may have got better and I did a cb digital last month which just didn't work at all (and I've peed on enough sticks this year to know I did it properly lol). The digital ones have higher percentages for detection when testing early than the non-digital ones though. I use cheapy Sainsburys tests to test that hcg has left my system and they seem Ok, although I had one this week where control line only went half way up and second did same even though test line was positive (falsely - due to hcg injection), so I think it's half a dozen of one and six of the other. Never tried the really cheap ones off the internet though, so would be interested to hear from people who have.

Issy42 · 24/10/2008 21:18

OMG - all that talk of tests made my resolve go and just did another cheapy Sainsbury. Got the same again - a line in the test window but very, very faint this time but an incomplete control line. Don't know what to make of that. Can't believe I've had three like that this cycle and never before and a clear negative one yesterday. I'm going to try and ignore it and see what the clearblue digital gives tomorrow. Still feel periody though, definite cramps. I need a 'confused' smiley to end this post.

My rather cynical view on tests now is not to get tempted to interpret faint lines too much. Next time I'm going to stick with a CB digital which, although expensive, at least gives a definite answer. If its meant to be it will be and WILL show up as a BFP on a CB digital! SOrry but I nearly went mental last month with faint BFPs. Determined never to test early or if in doubt again!!!!! Yeah right.

liahGeneMutatedMonster · 24/10/2008 23:07

issy can you put a pic in your profile maybe. We will interpret

I am using cheapies until i'm sure then i'll use my expensive one to keep. However, the digital ones don't keep their readings forever do they?

ttc# as far as i am aware is the number of the child yu are trying to conceive, so in my case ttc#6

Please feel free to correct me anyone.

Officail testing for me is next Sat. God thats a week away. (should be an impatient emoticon)

Wishing · 25/10/2008 00:38

yeah liahGeneMutatedMonster cb digital do lose there screen after 24 hours - you could take a picture?!?!?

and yeah ttc# is for the number of children you already have not months youve been trying - well that what i thought and put down anyway??!?!?!?!

Goodluck in advance for next week!!

LJ29 · 25/10/2008 08:38

well BFN for me this morning. Now on day 33 of unknown cycle length. Definitely think I'm out this month as didn't BD after day 15 and if I had caught I think it would have shown up by now. Really want AF to start now so that I can get on with next month. Only trouble now is that DH is likely to be on nights at my fertile times.

Any news from anyone else?

yellowflowers · 25/10/2008 12:19

More spotting and temp drop today - guess I'll be cd and bottom of list tomorrow. If we manage this month would still be July baby though

OP posts:
Issy42 · 25/10/2008 13:25

No need to post pic liahGeneMutatedMonster, but thanks for the offer. Unfortunately had temp nosedive today and tested anyway but used the last cheap Sainsbury one as I knew I was wasting my time. It was of course BFN and AF now just starting .

With hindsight, the three tests I was unsure about all had (sorry for TMI) a bit of pee splash on the test/control window - difficult to avoid with Sainsbury's test as is a plastic tip with holes in, so this morning I peed in a container and dipped instead and test worked properly.

Now I'm not sure when to start Clomid as I'm sure last month I got told to take first tablet on second full day of period and not to count the first day unless period started before noon. I rang clinic yesterday and got told day 1 is if it starts before 6pm (by the nurse the others all check everything with). Since spotting started just before noon, I'm sure will have full AF before 6pm. Why can't they give you consistent advice? Maybe I'll start a thread to ask what others are told.

Babydust to everyone still waiting.

I will now be testing next around time mc baby was due and is day of my cousin's wedding so is going to be emotional. Am going to try to just test if late though.

Wishing · 25/10/2008 15:54

I still have no af either wishing but did get a 3rd BFN this morning

feel very tired and moody too

madmarriedNika · 25/10/2008 21:52

Hello ladies. Agree wholeheartedly this TTC thing is soooooo frustrating.

Things are very weird here. Had a little brown spotting on Thursday afternoon (CD25, which is when AF came last month)- so assumed AF was on her way. However spotting stopped and no AF appeared- so I did a cheapie EBay test with FMU today- BFN (not even the feintest line)- so again I assume AF must be close. Some brown spotting again this afternoon, but barely there, hasn't increased and still no "proper" AF. My periods are never like this!! If AF hasn't come by tomorrow afternoon (CD28) I might test again- now at the point of wishing she would just start properly and put me out of limbo!!
Anyone have had any similar experiences?

Have been trying not to symptom spot but am exceptionally tired...but saying that we've had a bad week with poorly DCs and I'm full of the cold so I know it's probably nothing more exciting than that!! arghhhhh so frustrating. Just hope I know one way or another before monday as can't bear the suspense anymore!!

Good luck everyone

Wishing · 26/10/2008 00:02

hey madmarried nika, im exactly the same as you and pains that feel like af is coming!! i just had some brown spotting and nothing since - and mine was day af should have come - im testin again tomorrow!!! I think!
