Aww Teehee so pleased your scan went so well I cant wait to see the pic later!
My DS is a bit of a ladies man. Good sign so far, but if the next one's a boy I might be pushing him towards the gay scene hahaha - I am kidding

cricri · 24/09/2008 14:49

Teehee I'm so pleased you've had a lovely birthday and that the scan went well. Must be a huge relief - can't wait to see the pic Hope the test next Tuesday goes OK - sounds as though the mw is just being cautious and that it's nothing to worry about.

MollieMooma · 24/09/2008 15:22

Hello lovlies just got back from our break in Tenby feel really refreshed and chilled out but I did miss you guys awfully
TeeHee congrats on scan, can't wait to see the pic, and hope you're having a fantastic birthday
Kate You MUST get a dog, DH would love a lab even knows what he'd call him, but with two cats it's a definate no no. Glad to hear AF arrived to stop you worrying, one cycle nearer being able to TTC
CriCri & Mibbes Would love to see nursery pics
Fruity Glad to see your appetite is still nice and healthy
emmsy Hope you are nesting and resting
EI Posted on other thread but really pleased you have got some answers chick, I've got my appt next Tuesday so keep everything crossed for me. Good luck with the OPK's they are usually really faint for me (I think Sparkly had the same thing) so be warned they may not show as dark as you think they should. Like the others have said start testing about 2 days before you think you normally OV or just start testing from day 10 onwards until you get +ve
Georgie Lovely to hear you are feeling more positive about things and have continued to keep trying
TeeHee Hope your sickness was a one off thing and you're feeling better
Sparkly How are you chick? Have you stopped bleeding yet? How are you feeling in yourself?
Scully You OK?
So now I think I've caught up with everyone, apologies if I have missed anyone Well I'm just waiting for AF to show her face, I did an OPK on 13/09/08 and got the darkest every line I've had and that was the day we had our little slip up [oops] AF usually shows 10/11 days later, but nothing yet, why oh why does that little devil sit on your shoulder going "you might be" "go on test" "you never know" I'm trying to ignore it coz the liklihood of falling pg that easily is about as likely as me winning the Euro Lottery on Friday
I think I know in the back of my mind that I can't be, especially seeing how much alcohol I consumed whilst away

kate2179 · 24/09/2008 18:37

Oh my goodness Teehee, I'm so glad everything's ok! did you get my texts?!? When I didn't hear from you I was starting to be convinced it was bad news... I've been so worried! I sent one at about 10am and one at about 4pm. But thank goodness you're ok!!!! Can't wait to see the pics, you'll have to updaye your stats! It must have been the best birthday present you've ever had Hope you have a lovely evening.

Just back from work, so will be back to catch up properly later. Hope everyone's ok xx

teeheelaydee · 24/09/2008 20:55

Kate Yes I did get your texts and I replied - you were on my group text when I left hosp about 12 and then I replied to your other too. Your phone is obviously not getting them? I'll try one in the morning and see if I have any success? Thank you for being worried? I wondered why you hadn't sent back to say Yippee!!!

Picture on profile - don't think DP would have been bothered but as it is my birthday he has to do as he is told! Mind you I let him take the picture back to school today and he was so smiley he ended up telling his class.

EisAHandbagaHolic · 24/09/2008 22:34

hi ladies
teehee happy birthday and excellent news on your scan!! what a fantastic birthday prezzie
fruity im goin to the RM office on saturday to pick the parcel up so il let u know if it is your DSs parcel
kate im glad AF has arrived for you and you are one cycle closer to being able to TTC
mollie nice to see you back im getting excited for you that you may have gotten caught so quickly when you least expect it i suggest a HPT!!! ASAP!!! also call your consultant unit/clinic you are going to for your blood test results if you are preg as from whatb the consultant said to me alot of 1st trimester mmcs are related to APS which is what i have got so chances are they might be able to tell you what if anything has caused your mmcs and get you on treatment straight away instead of having to wait to see the consultant iyswim if they follow the same guidelines as my RMCU you should be really closely monitored with your next preg aswell good luck
hi to everyone else
sparkly hope you are ok
hi to georgie scully cricri mibbes and anyone else lurking around

FruitynNutty · 25/09/2008 09:05

Morning ladies

How many posts left? ooh 13 to go!

Scully Happy birthday to you lady! Don't think we were going to miss that one, it comes up on FB!

Does anyone have any knowledge about paralyzed vocal cords on a new born?

My friend sent me a text as her 6 week old is in hospital again after she keeps choking. They thought she had a lazy larynx but it turns out her vocal cords are almost completely paralyzed IT means she cant take her milk properly and fluid gets on her lungs. The Doctors are amazed she hasn't already got pneumonia I feel so sorry for my friend because they have tried for 5 years and fell pregnant on the 7th attempt of IVF after an op to remove my friend's fallopian tubes. She had a horrendous birth and had to stay in hospital for a week because the baby kept going blue It's just one thing after another. She was only 6lbs when born (and a week overdue!)
I started a thread about it in parenting but haven't had many replies. I don't really know what it means to have paralyzed vocal cords.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 25/09/2008 12:45

TeeHee Am soooooooo pleased that all went well with your scan. It's fab news that all is going well this time round. Now, just take it easy and try and enjoy the next 6 months. .

Mollie Ooooooooo lady. Am not going to jinx anything by saying something silly. But am whispering good luck to you.

Fruity Afertoon lovely. So sorry to hear about your friend. What a shocker. Hopefully now they know what it is they can treat it properly.

Scully Happy Birthday lovely lady. Hope you are having a bonza day. That the sun is shining and you are being made a fuss of.

Sparkly What you up to today?

Ei How's it going with OPK sticks?

Got Mollie's 'boyfriend' (Tom. He's lovely. I totally approve of him ) coming over for tea tonight with another of her friends, Georgina. M has been sooooooo excited this week. Young love. Sigh!

SparklyPseudonym · 25/09/2008 13:49

Afternoon ladies,

How are we all today? Not very much going on here, but the sun is out so that always makes a difference. Have been to the library this morning with DD and then we stopped for a coffee on the way home. She's painting and sticking now (and is about to make a right mess!).
I've been worrying I'm getting an infection so need to phone the GP. Hopefully won't see the bastard same one as before.

HTGG Are you feeling more productive today? I still haven't done any work - ah well...life goes on . Ohhh, boyfriends. I young love...all those firsts to look forward to and that amazing feeling when you can't wait to see each other.
Teehee Lovely news from your scan and such a cute picture. Congratulations. I'm sure the extra tests are nothing to worry about. Did you have a good birthday?
Mollie Great to have you back mrs xxxxx
Mibbes Have lots of fun at NCT. Remember to take it easy once in a while and don't stay away too long.
Ei Have you started the OPKs yet?
Scully HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Are you doing anyting special to celebrate?
Fruity Sorry I don't know the answer to your question but I hope baba is ok. Your poor friend has a lot of her plate . Hopefully someone will come along soon and be able to answer your questions.

Hello to everyone else. 12 more posts left...let's hope there's lots and lots of BFPs in the next thread.

FruitynNutty · 25/09/2008 13:51

Afternoon,

I'm tearing my bloody hair out. In 11 years of childcare I have never known such a stubborn baby. This one is nearly 7 months, been blood curdling screaming for 48 minutes. I've checked on him every 15 mins and he's fine. Nappy clean, fed, winded, teething gel in. HE NEEDS TO BLOODY SLEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!!! I've never heard such an ear piercing scream. I'm worried my neighbours are going to call social services I hope they're all at work
So much for me getting him into a routine, think I give up with this one.
AAGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

FruitynNutty · 25/09/2008 14:05

Bloody hell, that was one whole hour of major screaming. I gave up. Most babies give up or tire themselves out after 15-20 mins. He's now sitting on my knee and laughing!!!!!!!!!
I think we should all get pets instead of babies, what do you all think?

SparklyPseudonym · 25/09/2008 14:10

LOL Fruity - sounds like L. She was a very stubborn baby and cried lots. I think I might fill my house with baby animals and find a magic potion to inject them with so they stay all cute and small forever .

Right - the new thread...anyone got any ideas?

Yarnie · 25/09/2008 16:22

A flying post just to throw something Fruity's way.

My grandmother has a condition called dystonia which affects her vocal cords. They are in permanent spasm which means she can't speak unless she has regular injections of botulinum toxin into them.

Might be worth suggesting to your friend. I know they puzzled over my grandmother for quite a while.

I have been lurking from time to time and hope everyone is well and happy. All is good here, though busy.

Take care.

cricri · 25/09/2008 16:29

Fruity I hope my baby isn't like the one you're looking after - sounds like a nightmare! My friend's baby is like that - won't sleep during the day and requires constant attention. Hope your friend's baby with the paralysed vocal chords is OK too - must be very worrying.
Mollie So pleased you had a good break - was it your wedding anniversary? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you for you-know-what...
Mibbes Hope you enjoy the NCT classes as much as we have. We're lucky to have met a really nice bunch of people. I found the all-day sessions better than 2hrs here and there tbh and it saves having to go out in the evening
Teehee Lovely scan picture Keep focusing on it if you ever have any wobbly moments...
Sparkly Really hope you don't have an infection and that you don't have to see the horrid GP.
My scan today went OK, baby is growing well (long legs!), head was deep down in my pelvis so couldn't be measured and she is in the correct position for birth, so no longer back-to-back, hurrah! No scrubbing floors for me However, there is still some significant renal pelvis dilation on the right kidney so I have to be re-scanned on Monday by a consultant, who will refer baby to a paediatrician post-birth if required. The sonographer said the measurement could very well change between now and Monday - at my 4D scan it was much lower - and she did struggle to get a measurement because of baby's position. When I saw my MW on Sunday about a home birth she said that renal dilation wasn't a show stopper in terms of home birth as we could always take the baby along to the hospital straight afterwards for scanning if required so fingers crossed!
Hope everybody else is OK
No ideas for a thread title - it needs to have Emmsy's room in it though!

FruitynNutty · 25/09/2008 16:37

Yarnie pleased you're still with us Thanks for that bit of info, probably something they will look into once the worry of choking is over She went in for a brain scan this afternoon, just waiting for my friend to reply with results.

Ok so there are now only 6 posts left.

Emmsy's waiting room......only 7 of you left, no one's going anywhere until we get those BFP's!

Or something along those lines but much better. Ei always comes up with a good'un maybe wait for her

MollieMooma · 25/09/2008 17:26

Scully Happy birthday
TeeHee Love the pic x
Fruity I like the title you've come up with for the new thread, we may have to go with that if EI isn't along soon! So sorry to hear about your friend's baby, sound like she's not having a good "new baby" experience, bless it must be so worrying. Have you finally got rid of whingey (sp) baby? Sounds like a handful
Sparkly Hello lovely, has DD stopped making a mess yet? And more importantly have you phoned the GP as promised?
Mibbes Red bag
Georgie Aahh young love! How sweet, I remember those days (about 100 years ago!)
Yarnie Nice to "see" you, hope you're keeping well
CriCri Glad to hear you baby has moved and growing well, will keep everything crossed for your scan on Monday. At least it won't affect your home birth
Emmsy Hope you're taking it easy lovely
Kate How are you missus?
I think that's everyone Hope you are all well, I'm so enjoying my time off work, not back until week on Monday, such bliss

kate2179 · 25/09/2008 18:48

Aaaarrgghh! Again no time to catch up, just got home and we're off to an amateur dramatics performance.... WHY???

But will hopefully catch up when we're back, though lots of work for tomorrow. Seems my phone isn't sending or receiving texts... Bastard!

Love the new thread title! But how about something about no one going anywhere til we all pop? Don't know about you but for me a bfp is just the first step in a VERY long journey, and there certainly won't be any big celebrations if/when we do finally get one. Though maybe a very small one

FruitynNutty · 25/09/2008 20:31

Verrrrry quiet in here tonight.

Are we all too scared to end this thread?

I think that's a nice idea Kate C'mon with all your suggestions!

Ei we neeeeeed yoooouuuuuuu!!!
