Morning all,

Not much to report here. Just snuggled up with DD on the sofa. Am still bleeding but feeling a lot better.

Fruity I love Zara but I never lookg for myself . I'm always drawn to the kids section - the stuff is gorgeous. Enjoy playgroup.
Ei I think I need to see women I've heard lots of good things about it. Lots and lots of luck to you for today. Don't be scared...be strong. You deserve this appointment and it's about time someone took action. Let me know how it goes.
Kate My DP often under-estimates how p!ssed he is . GET A PUPPY, GET A PUPPY, GET A PUPPY (ahem!). Puppies make me almost as broody as babies. I'd love one but our 2 cats wouldn't be happy and neither would DP .. maybe when DD is a bit older?!
Mibbes Sounds like a busy weekend missy!! Don't forget to post me some pics of your hard work.
Teehee [waves]
Emmsy Hope you're ok. xxx

EisAHandbagaHolic · 22/09/2008 12:30

hi ladies
ok im back from my appointment. i have been told i have a strain of antiphospholipid syndrome called lupus erythemothrombosis. i had to have a repeat blood test to confirm it but that seems to be the cause for my MCs. im not sure whether i feel happy that i have an answer or upset that i have a blood disorder that will make it hard for me carry any babies the consultant was lovely and very sympathetic and answered all of my questions though which was a nice change so what happens next is i have to get up the duff and then start on baby asprin and heparin injection combo alongside 2weekly appointments and scans to keep an eye on the progress of my preg and he also said that i was doing well starting to lose weight and to keep it up as it will help with being able to conceive so i will be keeping that up so that seems to be about the gist of it im feelin a bit weird about it all now and i now have to go to work and act cheerful im off tomorrow on a rest day so i will try and bottle up my weirdness til then
xx ei xx

FruitynNutty · 22/09/2008 13:11

Ei it's great news! You can take meds for the blood disorder which should help you to hold onto the pregnancy so that excellent. Don't be down about it, you finally have an answer!

I was really down about my PCOS when I found out but now I know if I hadn't been able to fall pregnant naturally something could have been done. Much better than having no reason at all for problems TTC. If you were to tell me that while TTC though, I wouldn't have been so optimistic

Sparkly I'm so pleased you are feeling a lot better. I LOVE the pics of your DD and my DS on FB. So cute! We need to get them back together again

cricri · 22/09/2008 14:10

Ei Glad your appt went well. As Fruity says, now that you have an answer it is possible to do something about it. Several of the ladies on the Knickerchecker's thread have taken baby aspirin and had heparin injections to avoid mc and they've gone on to have healthy babies. It's good that you'll be closely monitored when you do get pg too which is good. Fingers crossed it happens for you this month
Sparkly Pleased you're feeling better and taking things easy.
Kate Sorry you didn't have a good evening on Saturday and that DH misbehaved - I'm intrigued so I'm looking forward to your explanation later As for the dog, if you've got the space and the time to devote to a puppy then why not? I'm sure Nemo will be fine - it's easier with dogs than with cats who tend to tolerate new arrivals (at best). He'll be top dog in the pack order won't he? They will be company for one another too, especially when the baby arrives
Mibbes I'm impressed that you've got your nursery all sorted - we're a bit behind with that, although DH did help me put up the wallpaper border yesterday afternoon so that looks nice. And we managed it without him having a strop - DIY is not his strong point and he tends to get very wound up very easily. Looking forward to him putting up the cotbed now
One of the girls from my NCT class gave birth to a little boy yesterday morning - 8 days early The fact that I am actually going to have a baby myself very soon is gradually sinking in
NCT bra and beer evening tonight - the ladies get measured for nursing bras and the boys go to the pub for a drink, despite their offers to help with the measuring
Hope everybody else is OK.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 22/09/2008 16:41

Afternoon one and all.

Thanks for a brill afternoon Fruity, Kate, TeeHee and Cricri. Very, very nice to meet you all. And we will have to arrange a get together for all of us. Think Mollie suggested the Midlands as a half way meeting point. Let's all meet at Cadbury Museum and gorge on choc!!!!!

Well, after my mammoth strop on Friday have taken some time to think (and speak to DH) and we've decided to keep trying, but to try and keep things in perspective. I won't bore you with my long thought process, but suffice to say that I feel I'm in a much better place now and am feeling happy about my life for the first time in ages. I'm celebrating what I have rather than wondering around feeling sad and anxious all the time. I feel as if a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders and am really enjoying being with the DD's.

Fruity I could spend a FORTUNE in Zara Kids. Got Mollie loads of stuff there for summer. it's still in good condition so will get boxed up for Libby when M grows out of it. Looking forward to seeing you on Wed. What time shall we meet?

Ei That's really fab news. Am so pleased for you. Have heard great things about baby asprin and heparin helping pg ladies. Fingers crossed for next time. And no need to bottle up 'weirdness' here. Let it all out .

Mibbes How exciting about your nursery. Can we have details please? What colour? What furniture? Are you getting excited?

Cricri You've got a load of ready made aunties on here. So if it all gets too much, just pack the LO off to one of us and put your feet up! And well done to DH for his DIY skills!

Kate I love Lab's. Think they are gorgeous dogs. Although they do need a lot of exercise. But like Cricri says, if you've got the time and energy, then why not? Nemo will adjust. And there's nothing wrong with a baby substitute if it's going to make you happy. But just think how you'd cope with 2 dogs and a baby before you jump in. Mind you, there's plenty of mums round here that seem to cope perfectly well. I'm just getting flashbacks to being 13 and being made to traipse over soggy feilds on a freezing cold Sunday with my parents whilst taking dog for walk because it was 'family time' .

Sparkly How you doing love? Glad you're taking it easy. Hope bleeding stops soon. Have you gone stir crazy yet watching hours of CBeebies?!

Mollie How's life with you? Hope you're ok.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 22/09/2008 16:42

Cricri Forgot to say that bra and beer night sounds like DH's idea of heaven! Have a good one.

teeheelaydee · 22/09/2008 18:24

Cricri Having someone in your class actually give birth must bring it home and doing the nursery. You'll be fine I have no doubt, you seemed pretty together about it and don't forget if you do mess up Kate and Mollie will be waiting in the wings to steal it!!

Georgie Glad you are feeling better, I felt so much happier when we were trying but not really trying, like a human again.

Fruity I always find Zara clothes too long and thin for me so am looking forward to the option of putting them on a little person.

Mibbes It all sounds really exciting but yes we need details of nursery - I am looking for ideas. (Although obviously I am not thinking of that yet as DP as banned such nonsense at this early stage - yeah right )

Kate Do it, do it! They will sort themselves out and if you have to look after one dog and a baby you might as well look after two. It might take your mind off all the TTC marlarky!

Mollie Hope you had a good weekend away and that going back to work is not too much of a chore.

Sparkly You sounded like you had a nice normal Sunday, I hope that means you are starting to feel more yourself. Still bleeding though? That sucks. Boo!

Ei I think its positive that you've got a cause. Just think when you do get pregnant you will have the comfort that the medication will help. My (horrible) consultant basically said if it was that it was fixable. As for the weirdness - we love it!!

Right, don't think I've forgotton anyone so what's going on here? - Very little, been quite sick yesterday (on a sunday- not fair) and today. I have these good intentions to do stuff when I get home from work and by the time I get back I feel like a wrung out dishrag! I have managed to make a spag bol though (Believe me ladies this is a big achievement at the moment) xx

kate2179 · 22/09/2008 19:18

Teehee spag bol sounds like a huge achievement, I haven't even managed to defrost a chilli! I hope you're right about a puppy taking my mind off all the ttc stuff. I reckon it should def help... This will probably sound really cheesy, but part of me just feels that we have so much love to give, and if we can't put it into a baby maybe we should put it into a puppy. Also it will be good to have something (hopefully) so positive to feel happy about, and something which no stinky doctor can take away either!
Sorry/not sorry you've been feeling so sick! You know what I mean!

Sparkly I'm sorry to hear you're still bleeding. Sounds pretty normal though, which is something. Hopefully it'll stop soon. Was looking at your DD's christening photos on fb, you all look gorgeous!

Ei not good news that you have a blood disorder, but great news that they have found out about it It's so treatable, as the others have said, and hopefully this will mean you get really fantastic care next time round. Think of all the scans! Also probably a good thing that you haven't fallen in the last couple of months (I hope that doesn't sound awful ), because I think you need to start on the heparin straight away ideally don't you? It would have been awful to have to go through it all again after you've been through so much already

Cricri thank you so much for translating that postcard for me, DH was very amused to hear what it said . Am SO impressed at your border-putting-up skills! We do quite a bit of decorating, but I haven't attempted anything even vaguely wallpaper based! Post some piccies for us? Hope the bra measuring goes well, I'm very of your beautiful neat bump! Meant to ask you where you got that top you were wearing on sat from? Twas lovely

Mibbes you too young lady! WE WANT NURSERY PICTURES!!

Fruity glad the shopping went well! The bib was a big hit on saturday, I think you and I were both very restrained in the circumstances!

Georgie so glad you're feeling so much better! I now REALLY want to see The Women, just not sure when or who with - it seems like all my gf's have babies... Oh well, they'll just have to get a sitter won't they?

Oh wise ladies, I have a question for you... AF still hasn't shown her ugly mug round here... My temp dropped on friday and has stayed down, so I'm def not pg... I'm wondering if it could be because of the biopsy and the bleeding after it? What do you reckon? it malingered on lasted for about 6 days but it was VERy light. So do you reckon that was all I'm going to get this month? The biopsy was on 10th btw. Any opinions welcome! It's really playing on my mind!

SparklyPseudonym · 22/09/2008 19:56

Evening ladies,
Had a quiet day today. Met my sister for some lunch and then came home and set our lovely butterflies free. DD wasn't very impressed by this to start with but didn't seem to mind in the end.
Kate Hardly any photos of christening on FB yet. We had a prof photographer there so I'm waiting to have them all back at the end of the week. I think lack of AF is prob due to biopsy messing things up for you..did you also say you started acupuncture? Anyway. I hope things sort themselves out for you v soon.
Teehee Well done for cooking tonight. I made a pasta bake and we ate quite early. Yeh, the bleeding continues but it's very dark (sorry for tmi). I'm hoping it stops soon though . Where is your scan?
HTGG Am taking it fairly easy but have tried not to stay in too much or CBeebies really would drive me mad. I'm sure DD would love a day infront of the tele though .
Fruity That would be lovely. Am going to be snowed under with work from Monday but I'm sure I'll find time for you. Was actually thinking of coming to London before October half term but will have to see how things pan out.
Ei I'm just about to start my lovely chocs. Thank you so much for the cards. You're so very thoughtful and it meant a lot to us both. As I said in my text - I'm so glad you're now under a consultant. It's very shit about the blood disorder but I'm so pleased they've detected it and it's treatable. Lots and lots of luck to you this month, lovely lady.

Hope everyone else is well xxx

cricri · 23/09/2008 09:28

Georgie I'm pleased you're feeling much more positive. Hopefully putting less pressure on yourselves will mean that something will happen - fingers crossed for you.
Thanks for the lovely comment about willing aunties May well take you up on that!
Teehee Sorry you've been feeling sick - perhaps you overdid it a bit by going up to London? I know ms can get worse if you're tired. Hopefully it will start easing up a bit soon anyway. Hope you're not too nervous about your scan...
Kate Thanks for the compliments the top was from the Next summer maternity collection. I will post nursery photos in due course as soon as the cot bed is up and the room is a bit tidier It was our first attempt at wallpapering too - not sure I could manage actual sheets as it was such a faff. I'm not very good with measuring stuff and cutting accurately... I much prefer painting rooms as it's a lot quicker and I don't have to rely on DH to help with that either Hope the AF situation sorts itself out soon.
Sparkly The butterflies sound lovely
Well, the bra and beer evening went well, although I'm disappointed that our AN teacher and bra-fitter thinks I'll only go up 1 cup size (from A to B ) - there I was thinking I might actually have big boobs for the first time in my life Oh well. Bought 3 nice bras and will have a look online to see if there are any other styles I like. The HotMilk ones are lovely but they're very expensive... It was a bit of a late night in the end so I'm quite glad I don't have too much work on at the moment!
Hope everybody else is OK - Scully are you OK? Haven't heard from you for a few days.

scully · 23/09/2008 10:25

Hiya, all good here, no news, just seem to be busy, for something different dd2's christening on Sunday went really well, have a couple of pics on FB, but most of ours inside the church were blurred, so waiting for my sister and the godmother to email me their shots.
School holidays here for 2wks, so had dd1 at home the last 2 days, which has actually been quite enjoyable dh took the day off today and we all went here so dd1 and dh could go horse riding. dd2 and I went to visit my sister who lives near here. Lovely day, we all enjoyed it. Start of my working week tomorrow, but it's hardly stressfull so can't complain.
Good in a way that you have a name for it Ei, hopefully now they know what is causing the m/c's, all will go well next time
All sounds very exciting Cricri, you must be getting excited and apprehensive now, it's such a mixture of wonderful emotions
Hope I've got this right, below, updated it from Tuesday last week.

fruity had a call from RM the other day saying there was a returned parcel for me in their office. im hoping it was the lost parcel of your DS's so i can get it back out to you i dont think there are any others missing better seriously late than never eh!!
teehee was it today your scan?? i hope if it was it went really well
cricri i wouldnt worry about how many cup sizes you go up as when i was preg with DD i got measured and they said a 36DD would suffice and i actually needed a 38E as my (.)(.)'s went HHUUUGGGEEE!!!! i was a 36D to start with so i expected a bit of a rise but i looked like a blow-up doll they were that enormous BTW take it easy on the decorating and let your DH do as much as possible i pulled an abdominal muscle painting the skirting in our living room when i was 8months and had to wear a bump support belt it was that painful!!
hi to everyone else
i went to work to do a couple of hours overtime today and ended up doing an entire 8 hour shift im shattered!! anyway... just a little question oh wise ladies this is my first cycle doing OPKs and i dont have a regular Ov day so when should i start weeing on those little sticks??

Morning all!

Well, af has finally deigned to show her ugly mug round here this morning, accompanied by some lovely cramps But I'm just SO GLAD to see the back of that HIDEOUS cycle and all that went with it, that actually I'm really pleased she's finally here. We really are all mad aren't we...

Teehee Just wanted to say GOOD LUCK to you for today, and happy birthday!!!! But I suspect the birthday will be taking a back seat til after the scan huh? Just wanted to let you know I'll be thinking of you all day. Will text you later xx

Georgie hope the head's feeling better! I get those seomtimes, all that really works for me is sleep...

Ei not sure about the OPKs as never used them. I guess if I had enough I would start them a couple of days before the earliest I thought i'd ever OV'd and carry on til you get a +ve, but keep an eye out for any fertile CD early on and try one if you spot any, that's how Emmsy got pg this time round iirc, fertile CD so POA OPK on CD9 et voila! (Thought as it sounds like a foreign language anyway I'd use some actual foreign words!)

FruitynNutty · 24/09/2008 08:47

Morning,

I can't believe I forgot to wish you a happy birthday teehee How did the scan go?

Ei when's the earliest you think you have ov'd? I would begin from a couple of days before then

Kate Thank heavens AF showed up at last, it's a huge relief to see her when you know you're not pregnant Just think another cycle closer to that BFP!

Sparkly you ok?

Mollie How are you hun? Working hard?

Well I've just demolished two slices of toast and Marmite and now I'm desperate for another slice, I'm sooooo bloody greedy I thought you're only supposed to have an extra 200 calories per day, so why do I crave an extra thousand then? Must be a girl, all those female hormones

We're off to Wacky Warehouse this morning with Georgie, should be fun, let the kiddies get lost in soft play while we gossip over a mug of coffee

Hi ladies,
Not much going on here..had planned to get a lot of work done today but can't get my head around it - don't want to think about it so another day wasted .
Cricri I went up 2/3 sizes once my milk came in. I don't think I was measured for feeding bras until 3 weeks before L was born (I think this is because they like to measure you once your bump has dropped). Don't give on the idea of the big boobs just yet .
HTGG How is the headache today? Hope you're feeling better.
Ei Not suprised you're shattered!! I'd start doing the OPKs a day or 2 before the earliest you would normally ovulate. I did 2 a day..one in the afternoon and one in the evening. How many did you order?
Kate Hope the cramps aren't too bad and that she doesn't stick around for too long.
Fruity Am ok - feeling a lot brighter this week. Fed up of the bleeding as want to get straight back to TTC so the sooner it stops, the better.
Teehee HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOO YOOOUUUUU! And, also lots and lots and lots of luck for your scan today. Am thinking of you.
Mollie Are you back today? Have missed you .

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 24/09/2008 13:07

Hi. God belss nurofen. Feeling much brighter today.

Ei Agree with everyone else re: OPK's. Good luck hon. And remember DO NOT use FMU. I usually test 4pm ish. And hope today not as knackering for you as yesterday.

Mollie Where are you? Come back to us!

Fruity Libs LOVES your DS! Thanks for great morning. Let's do it again soon. Although might give the sandwich a miss next time as am burping like you wouldn't beleive. Ugh .

TeeHee Many happy returns for today. Have eveything crossed for you hon. Let us know as soon as you can.

Kate Kind of glad TEW got you. Like you said, it's another cycle closer to you being able to TTC. Any news on the puppy? What you said makes perfect sense. Why 'waste' all that love.

Sparkly If it makes you feel any better, I'm not doing very much at all. Bored of the all the building work, bored of housework, bored of all the admin I've got to do. Sigh! Must get arse in gear but can't be bothered . It'll all still be there tomorrow. I blame it on pants weather.

Cricri Wait til your milk comes in and then see how big your norks are . Mine were HUGE, rock hard, boiling hot and sore as hell. But don't let that put you off .

Is Yarnie still missing in action?

Emmsy Hope you are well. I won't ask whether you're over doing it because you probably are! But hope you will start slowing down before you fall down. Getting v excited for you.

FruitynNutty · 24/09/2008 13:21

Oh bloody hell, I've got myself all confused with the days this week. Happy Birthday for today Teehee (I'm hopeless) Best of luck for the scan today, not that you need it You'd better post a pic lady!

Georgie Was a lovely lovely morning, yes I can imagine a falafal panini would repeat on you - ah, well you won't forget what it tastes like will you DS had a fab time with Libby. I'm now at home, wishing for Max to fall asleep. Weird when he was practically asleep in the buggy on the way home He's been screaming for 15 mins now, I'm trying to ignore it although I have just checked on him and he's fine so SLEEP GODDAMMIT!

Cricri Unfortunately I also couldn't wait for my tiny little boobies to become these great big, round proper breasts while preg with DS but it never happened It's an effing myth. I was very disappointed But then I never really had much milk so thats probably why - crap body can't do it's job properly I think I went from a B cup to a C, even after the birth.

FruitynNutty · 24/09/2008 13:31

Forgot to say
Ei wouldn't it be funny if it was the missing pressie, I wonder where it's been all this time! haha

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 24/09/2008 13:32

Scully Forgot to say hi. Hope you have nice time with DD whilst she's on school hols. Crappy weather has returned with a vengence in the UK so am most of your summer starting. Bottle me up some sunshine and send it over.

cricri · 24/09/2008 13:33

Teehee Happy birthday and hope the scan went well. Looking forward to a picture later
Georgie Glad you're feeling better and that you and Fruity had a good time this morning. Shame about the sandwich!
Ei I hope you have more luck with the OPKs than I did - I never got a positive! I tested mid-afternoon, followed all the instructions and one month POAS from CD 9 right through to CD25 or something but they just didn't work for me. No idea why...
Kate Glad your cycle is back on track - must be a relief. Any decision about the puppy yet?!
Sparkly Glad you're feeling brighter and hopefully the bleeding will stop very soon so you can get on with ttc. I was the same after my mmc - I just wanted to get on with things once the bleeding had stopped.
I believe Mollie is away at the moment - I seem to remember a post late last week saying she was going away for a few days.
Everything fine here - had to do my GBS swab this morning (hope I've done it right!) and fingers crossed that comes back clear so that we can go ahead with the HB. 34 week scan tomorrow afternoon to check the baby's renal dilation but that should be OK as the sonographer at the 4D scan early last month said it had reduced. MW wasn't too worried about it in any case for the HB as she said we could always take the baby along to the hospital afterwards if necessary.
Pants weather here today - don't know about your builders Georgie but ours keep having to stop and start between showers at the moment!

FruitynNutty · 24/09/2008 13:46

I actually forgot to go to an appointment with the consultant on Friday I can't believe I forgot! I just had a letter through with an alternative day, whoops. I should pay more attention to my appointment card but the appointments seem so few and far between, I've just been counting the days to my 22 week scan and forgot about the ones in between - not nearly as much fun! So, must remember my next appointment is on Thursday 2nd October, someone please remind me!

teeheelaydee · 24/09/2008 14:28

Thanks so much for remembering today was my birthday as well as the scan. Scan went really well. Strong heartbeat and could see it's little stomach which is good apparently. Arms and legs waving about. Picture is a little blurry, will try to get it on profile tonight when DP here, as I am techinical numpty!! Did have increased glucose in my wee, but it doesn't seem like too much to worry about. Got to go back on Tues. No food or anything other than water after midnight mon, then blood test, drink a load of lucozade then test after an hour, then test after another hour - so looks like I'll be there all morning - great!! Nurse said didn't think it was diabetes as I am perfect weight (ha ha! - I love her for that though)

Having a lovely birthday - lunch with Mum and DP, seen my sticky baby, out for dinner later and now about to flop on sofa with film and a cup of tea.

Fruity Can't believe you forgot your appt you naughty girl, probably cos you are feeling good it slipped your mind, who needs doctors hey.
Ei I found that OPK's advised you test way before you ov'ed but I guess this month will be a bit of trial and error for you. Good job you worked 8 hours overtime, you will need the cash now that you have gone down the slippery slope of OPK's
Scully Hope you are enjoying the school hols, seems weird when term has only just started here.
Cricri From what Georgie says the size of your boobs will be the least of your worries - sounds fun huh?
Mibbes What colour changing bag did you get? - we are all dying to know.
Sparkly You sound much better so don't worry about the work - you might feel like it tomorrow.
Georgie Sounds like you had a lovely morning. Fruity's DS seems a real hit with the ladies!

teeheelaydee · 24/09/2008 14:31

Kate I knew I forgotten someone. I know what you mean about the arrival of AF, it's a bit like a full stop. You can start again kind of thing! Still need details of drunk DH. I hate when my gets really pissed - he is so annoying and then is shocked when I don't want to have sex!! Why would you when they are acting like such a prat.
