Fruity How cute?

teeheelaydee · 17/09/2008 20:40

Awwww Fruity he looks so grown up. Bless him.

Well the only thing I have report is that my car is seriously ill - £1900 ill!! I can't quite believe it.

Am really looking forward to Saturday but will probably have to sip water and lick your plates a la posh due to having to spend a f*king fortune of that damn piece of metal!

So actually Fruity may offer you half a tube of Fruit Pastilles and a packet of Ginger Nuts for your car!

FruitynNutty · 17/09/2008 20:50

No way Teehee!!!! By my beautiful car for 1700 instead IT really is lovely. 10 years old lovely but a dream to drive!

EisAHandbagaHolic · 17/09/2008 20:50

FruitynNutty · 17/09/2008 20:50

I meant buy not by

FruitynNutty · 17/09/2008 20:51

Oh bugger it Ei buggery bollocks

FruitynNutty · 17/09/2008 20:52

I've just realised it's not Ugly Betty tonight it's Desperate Housewives Just as good!

teeheelaydee · 17/09/2008 20:52

Aww Ei That is rubbish. Bugger Bugger Bugger. Clearly Mollie and I need to practice our jazz hands for next month

FruitynNutty · 17/09/2008 20:55

Do you realise there are only 90 posts left? We need to think of a new thread title. Come on girls!!

cricri · 17/09/2008 21:07

Fruity Your DS looks so cute in his uniform
Teehee What on earth is wrong with your car for it to cost that much?! Did you take it to a dealer? Might be worth going to an independent garage to get a second opinion... Sounds rather extortionate to me.
Ei So sorry to hear TEW got you Hope next month is your month, especially as you've got your consultant's appt.
No ideas for a thread title I'm afraid - totally lacking inspiration!

teeheelaydee · 17/09/2008 21:18

I know what you mean Cricri but I took it to my normal garage and could kinda tell by the noises it was making that it was bad. Plus as it won't even run at the moment it is hard to take it lots of places for quotes and stuff. Bascially, the thingy that drives the cambelt is broken, which has made the cambelt 'jump' (whatever the hell that means!) which means that the pistons have crashed into the valve, so it needs a new thingy to drive the cambelt, a new cambelt, a new valve and I think new pistons as well (I had gone into shock by the time he got that far!) Pretty much sounds like a new engine really. It's just too horrible to dwell on really.

kate2179 · 18/09/2008 08:50

Teehee £1900 is horrendous and I know I shouldn't laugh, but your report on the cause of the problem really made me chuckle Off you go, dazzling us with your technical mechanic type knowledge. Are you going to take it up professionally?

Ei and , what an EVIL WITCH!! Fingers crossed your consultant's app will help. Would it be worth blackmailing them for some clomid? Have you tried pree-seed yet? Just a thought... Hope the cramps have gone by now

Mmmm Fruity cheesy beans on toast... I am meant to be being restrained but I have NO will power. I tried on a load of my winter clothes yesterday, work suits and trousers I thought were a bit borderline, which I hadn't really worn since I fell pg last september. Good news: 2 pairs of nice black trousers fitted (more or less ) BAD news: THREE suits and one more pair of trousers didn't Will have to change my name to Lardy Kate... Your DS is gorgeous btw

Have been trying to think of a new thread title. Nothing doing so far.

Please help me to have a productive day today ladies, I'm finding things so difficult atm . But back to acupuncture tomorrow so hoping that will help.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 18/09/2008 09:32

Quick one form me before heading off to Little Gym with Libs.

Ei Am blowing rasperberry in the face TEW. Am so sorry that it hasn't worked out this month. For what it's worth, I feel like I'm about to come on too. really thought we'd cracked it this month. But, hey ho. Not due til Mon, so still time for things to change.

Fruity Hooray for DS. He's a big boy now! Glad you're loving the new motor. Now what you mean about your old car smelling like arse! Ours bit manky at the mo!

Kate Just concentrate on what fun we'll have on Saturday lovely lady. And sometimes you don't need to have a productive day, you just need to get thru it anyway you can! As my dear mum always says, 'tomorrow is another day'. .

Right. I'm off. More later. Kisses to one and all. xxxxxxxxx

MollieMooma · 18/09/2008 09:59

EI So sorry my dance didn't work hun Hug x Teehee and I shall practice like mad over the coming weeks for next time
Kate Lol at lardy kate (as if!) Hope your acpuncture goes well and gives you some much needed chill out time
Teehee If it's any consolation my car is on death row too. I had a new gearbox 2 years ago but already there is a bearing going in it, it makes an awful noise but only when the engine is running I've been told I can drive it and sometimes it's lasts for years, but it could break down tomorrow It will cost £650 to repair (I didn't even dare get a quote for the other 4 jobs that need doing!) so not as much as yours but I only bought it for £800 4 yrs ago, so it's just not worth repairing (She's an R reg banger bless) So we will be carless together
Fruity I lurrve desperate housewives! I have recorded last nights can't wait to watch it I love Brie (sp) How is Pheobe doing now, is she still doing your head in?
Sparkly Thinking of you x
Kate & EI There must be something in the air as I feel a little sad today and as if someone says the wrong thing that I will just burst into tears. I have my counselling at lunchtime, probably good timing, let's hope she can sort me out

scully · 18/09/2008 12:37

Hope your counselling helps Mollie No, I'm not due to test soon, on cd8 so due to get down to business very soon
So sorry to here af has arrived Ei, I was equally frustrated last week when mine arrived. Have theoretically been trying since April last year, when you take into account both m/c......
Was quite cross at the world this afternoon for a few hours, doesn't help that dd2 has been a right pain when it comes time to drop her off or pick her up at nursery this week
Or that I am turning 38 next week
Anyway, moan over, went to see my chiropractor, had a lovely massage and a glass of wine when I got home and can cope with the world again
Did get a note home in dd1's schoolbag today from the teacher, asking if I could see her tomorrow morning dd1 has had problems with another dd in her class who she is good friends with, but who is a lot more dominant than her, so dd1 has had difficulty in handling certain social situations as she can be shy at times. Anyway, can't wait to hear what the teacher has to say about this week's events
Teehee that sounds like a lot to fix a car Ours needs a few things done, nothing urgent, should cost around $500, I can cope with that a lot more than £1900
Fruity, we had a Jeep in the UK for the last year that we lived there. Nice car, but financially the worst decision we ever made, we went from a diesel Coralla to a petrol Jeep I still can't believe my dh thought it was a good buy
I know the newer ones are better at petrol usage but our older one sure wasn't. What are you going to buy to replace it?

FruitynNutty · 18/09/2008 14:37

Afternoon girls,

Well I've only just been able to get on the internet. Bloody internet was down.

Scully our Jeep is 10 years old and costs an absolute fortune to run. I'm really scared about the Tax Disc which runs out in November (or it might be Oct) as I've gotta pay out a fortune in Tax anyway for my tax return
I love the car but it's ridiculous to spend so much on a car when we have to scrimp and save on food.
We're hoping to buy a 2000 model Ford Focus . Should get one for about the price we should get for the Jeep. I'll miss all the specs though The good thing about Focus's is they have a proper seat belt int he middle of the back seat so I can get 3 car seats in the back. Plus I'm hoping the passenger airbag will turn off so I can sit a child in the front. Weird to have a smaller car but more seats for the kiddies In fact, because I can't turn off the passenger airbag in the Jeep I'm a seat less than when I had my tiny Peugeot 206!

Is Yarnie coming to the meet up on Sat? She hasn't said, but she only lives in Notting Hill. Are you still there Yarnie?

EisAHandbagaHolic · 18/09/2008 16:55

teeheelaydee · 18/09/2008 17:19

Hi girls

Glad you're feeling better Ei You seem up for a good month of TTC (lucky DP!)Oh and will get my Chicago CD out to practice my jazz hands for Mollie dance!
Georgie Little gym sounds cool - I want to come!
Kate Glad I could make you laugh. Yes I think I may take it up professionally. I think I would explain things in a way that girlies (and my DP) could relate to. Mind you I was more specific than, say a doctor talking about m/c's !!
Scully You sound fed up, my advice is if one glass of wine doesn't do the trick - have another!

I have just had a filling in my tooth and have that horrible numb feeling in the side of my mouth and my ear, which is very strange and feels icky.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 18/09/2008 18:11

Hey Ladies. If you want to go and have a lovely time at the cinema. Go and see The Women. Saw it last night. Came out feeling much ligter and happier.

Everyone ok with getting to The Dog and Fox on Sat?

Mollie I've been having counselling since Jan this year. And I've got to say that, for me, it's been a life saver. Jsut amazing to have the time to let go and just unload to someone else.

Scully Chug, chug, chug that wine . Remember, everything in moderation, including moderation. Hope everything ok with DD1.

Ei Glad you're feeling a little chirpier today. A sicky really can be very theraputic don't you think .

TeeHee Hope you're not dribbling over yourself whenever you drink anything! Not nice having a filling.

Fruity Hey hon. Glad thre's no drama's for you. Just coasting thru the days with little stress is what you need.

Sparkly Hope you're ok lady and taking it easy. Thinking of you.

Hope everyone else ok. Bit quite on the Yarnie, Emmsy, Piper, Mibbes, Cricri front. Hope everything ok with you ladies.

Still on for Saturday Georgie I'm really looking forward to it I think DH is going to drive me to Wimbledon and then go on to see his Mum (or some food festival on the south bank not quite the same thing!) so I'll probably go straight to the pub. I've made a note of your mobile no though so will text if I can't find you all!
Mollie Hope the counselling went well today.
Piper Good to have you back Hope your wedding plans are going OK. When is the actual date?
Ei Pleased you're sounding brighter - fingers crossed the pre-seed etc works.
Sparkly If you're lurking I hope you're OK.
Hi to everyone else

teeheelaydee · 18/09/2008 21:35

Just a quickie as going to get an early night.

Yes, Georgie am very much on for Saturday. I think Kate and I are going to try and meet at Waterloo so should arrive together. DP said tonight that we should try and get on top of the housework and ironing on Saturday until I gleefully reminded him that i was otherwise engaged! So should even come back to nice clean house - hurrah!

Emmsy1 · 18/09/2008 22:58

really starting to feel so tired now, have had extra 2 children to look after Mon-Wed for 9 hours per day. Got very upset with mum & sister yesterday as I am now expected to look after them again from Sunday to Thursday (5 days) next week. The 2 year old is a real hand full, he's very strong and has a very bad temper if he doesn't get his own way, the 3 year old isn't much trouble, but all the picking up early and dropping them off before I pick my own children up is starting to get me down.I feel really stupid as I keep bursting into floods of tears for no apparent reason. I have also upset mum & sister as I phoned social services and told them that the family needed help with the children, placements in a creche or nursery, especially on the days that my sister is in work,as my baby is due in 5 weeks and I won't be able to help them with the children then. I'm afraid to say this girls but my usually long fuse was blown yesterday and I have threatened mum that my help will stop now, and I don't care who I stop speaking to if this problem is not sorted out soon. I don't mind helping for a week or two but certainly not long term. I was also very naughty tonight and wouldn't answer the phone to Neil (brother who is is Butlins)as knew he wanted me to pick him up on Saturday.Thought I may weaken if I speak to him direct so took the cowards way out and ignored the phone call. Have told mum & sister that I am not picking him up for the next two weeks. Have decided that I must try & stand up to mum & I have been bullied into a lot of things in the past, she can be a very selfish, inconsiderate woman at times. Feel as though a part of me wants to fall out with them now, so I can 'get out' of this family once & for all, really pissed off with the lot of them. Don't think any of them really care about me, think it's more a case of how much can they use me to their own advantage.Sorry to moan but really feel as though they have pushed me too far this time!
