Hi everyone

Ei has your egg hatched yet?

Caitni I hope you had a good night out. I've been following the thread about FF VIP membership and am almost convinced to buy. I always think that if I buy it I will get pg and it will be a waste of money (a bit like lighting a cigarette when waiting for the bus). But then I thought that about the mountain of Pre-seed and OPKs in the bottom of my closet! And I guess if I get pg via sod's law it will be worth the money!!

MOB how are the little eggs doing today? Your having your transfer today aren't you? I'll be thinking of you and sending your eggs orders to cling on tight!

News from here... well I have now had a week of EWCM and no egg. I am away with work from Weds to Friday so DH has to load me up before I go just in case! Normally I would expect to ov on Sat/Sun, but all of this EWCM makes me wonder whether it will be earlier, although I don't yet have ov pains which is unusual for me. Am trying the Pre-seed to see if it helps DH's sperm live longer. Not that any of this will make a blind bit of difference if my remaining tube is not working. I guess time will tell...

Higs to you all. Are you ok PNM? Any more news on your sister? Bucky and JG I have no idea if you still pop in from time to time, but I hope everything is ok. And hello to our pregnant ladies too.

HappyandEiknowit · 03/11/2008 09:45

just a quick one to say...
MOB good luck for today just think by the end of the day you will technically be preg with twins im so excited for you
mrshappy i have absolutely no idea if my egg ha hatched or not which is quite liberating feeling after all of the anxiety of my recent cycles i hope your egg hatches soon and you catch it good and proper
hello to everyone else
xx ei xx

Caitni · 03/11/2008 10:22

Morning all

MOB good luck to you today! I'm thinking of you and also sending strict orders for those little embyies to hang on in there . I'm so glad that you've got this week off to take it easy. I was remembering when JG first announced her ICSI plans and all the talk of the importance of heat, so hope you've got a hot water bottle or those heat pad thingys handy?

MrsH I must say that the VIP FF is some of the best money I've spent on ttc (I rate it far more than all of the books I've bought bar TCOYF!) though I don't like seeing the days run out. Seeing the number of days of my VIP membership left is another reminder that time is passing...I think you've got a good plan with the pre-seed, as if you ov before Sat/Sun you're definitely getting action at the right time! And if you don't ov til Sat/Sun then you'll be back from work travel in good time. Either way, I'm with Ei in that I hope you ov soon and you catch it good and proper

Ei love the name change!! And glad to hear you sounding so relaxed about your cycle

Not much going on here - knackered after a lovely but very busy weekend. CD 9 and expecting to ov in the next couple of days. We had such a bd bonanza last month that we're taking things slightly easier this month on the bd front - every other day-ish - though expect to ramp it up a bit once I get a peak reading on my monitor. Am hoping my DH remembers to phone and book in his SA this morning (MrsH he was also moaning about the tiny plastic cup!).

Big hello to everyone else - hope everyone had a good weekend

MrsHappy · 03/11/2008 10:35

Well the tiny plastic cup is a logistical nightmare.
Along with speedy cheap testing centres (that I think Bucky was planning to start) it is time we put our heads together and developed a more user friendly recepticle. As fertility enforcers, that is something for Caitni and MOB to do!! .

Love the name change Ei. I thought we'd attracted a newbie there for a second! (although with our appalling success rates I suspect they take one look and leg it over to Netmums!)

Am going to be hanging around here a lot waiting for MOB to come back and tell us how she is. God it's so exciting.

Keep nice and warm MOB (but not too hot, that can't be good).

Caitni · 03/11/2008 13:47

Am also popping in and out all day to see if MOB's posted - so exciting!!

Well MrsH (and Bucky if you read this ) those speedy test centres can't come along fast enough. I just spoke to my DH - just to hand in his sample for testing he'd have to wait until Feb, and the results would be weeks after that. I must admit my reaction was "WTF? Feb? But that's months away!! Grr!". Luckily by the time he called me he'd booked himself into the Bridge Centre (much handier for his work too as he works near London Bridge) and his SA will be done on the 11th November, with results to follow quite soon after. £105 well spent I say! Does rather make me worry about how long the blood tests/referrals to a gynae will take for me if a simple SA can't even be processed until Feb...

MrsHappy · 03/11/2008 13:54

Crikey Caitni, that's shocking.
My DH's SA was £105 too (must be the going rate, they probably all use the same lab) and the results were available during our consultation, a mere 45 minutes later. That's how it should be.

PicknMix · 03/11/2008 14:29

Just popping my head round the door as well to check up on Mob... Caitni it must be something to do with the south coast (or is your DH still registered in London?). Feb is far too long to wait - yay for a proactive DH who books himself in for a private test though

I've been ill for the past couple of days, in bed by 7.30 each night! Feel bit better now though. My friend has asked me to read a poem at her mums funeral for her. I have said yes but am now REALLY panicking about it... Not sure I'll be able to go through with it but I have to for her.

Found out my sister is probably going through a chemical pregnancy although her Doctor said "oh thats a clever term for it, I've never heard that before" when my sister asked was it a CP... Why are some GPs so completely clueless?!

He's told her that her [one] blood test looks like its on the way down (wtf?! how can he tell that from 1 blood test!??!!) so not to worry even though she's in lots of pain in her side - wouldn't even tell her the actual result of the blood test, said it wasn't important . I've told her to watch the pain and go to A&E if it gets any worse (or if she gets a pain in her shoulder etc). Also to ring her docs in the a.m to talk to the lady doctor who spoke to her originally and sent for blood tests and has scheduled a scan for her.

Sorry, had to get all that off my chest!!!!

Will pop in later to see if MOB has posted...

Hi to everyone!!

Caitni · 03/11/2008 15:18

Sorry to hear you've been ill PnM - hope you're over the worst of it now. Your poor sister, sounds like the GP who spoke to her is an idiot...and try not to worry about the reading, you doing it will mean so much to your friend and her family . And yes, it's the south coast that's being so rubbish about the SA! Though am not sure that London would have been so much better...

readyfornum2 · 03/11/2008 15:23

Hi all x
MOB Things are sounding very exciting for you and I hope you have a couple of sticky beans x

Caitni every other day sounds like a good plan and I hope you catch that egg this month

Mrshappy I know what you mean about paying FF vip I kept thinking that I would get pg if I paid but decided to anyway and it is worth it

Ei Good to see you feeling relaxed this cycle- hope its a good one for you x

Hi to everyone else too x

Well its cd8 for me so we are starting sperm meets egg tonight, hopefully it will work but if it doesnt at least dp will have a smile on his face lol!!

I have gained back nearly 2 stone of the weight I lost in the last 2 months so I am back on the diet as of this morning and hoping to shift a stone in the next 2-3 weeks so that my clothes are comfy again.
I dont mind getting fat again if its for the right reason

Caitni · 03/11/2008 16:46

Hi RFN2 I think using the clothes test - are they comfy or not? - is so much better than obsessing about scales etc. I've also put on quite a bit of weight since Sept - comfort eating plus dark evenings I reckon! I've lost about 4 pounds in the last two weeks as am trying to do the slow and steady weight loss back to being comfy in my clothes! Hope this sperm meets egg malarkey works for you this month . I've not actually tried it, but we've tried so many combos over the past months (bd every day, bd twice a day when we can, bd every other day) that I'm not sure it would help me too much . Still, if it works for you this month then maybe I'll be doing the same thing next month

Hope you're doing well MOB!
xx

Madoldbird · 03/11/2008 19:37

Sorry ladies! I see you have been eagerly awaiting news. We were at the clinic at lunchtime but i have had car trauma, so i have only just got infront of the pc (car is poorly - not an accident or anything awful)

Today went really well - out of the 7 we had 2 really good embryos, one a grade 1 (which they said they don't often see) and another the embryologist gave a grade 2, but the dr said he would give it a grade 1. We saw them on the screen before they went in, it was wonderful. Putting them back was fine, just like a smear test. The other embryos were not good enough to freeze, but she was going to leave them growing for a couple of days to see if they improve. So there we are - 2 embryos in there, all we have to do is wait. It feels great, and it also feels overwhelming. You'll have to help me through this 2ww! I can't believe we have now completed one ivf cycle (well, apart from the waiting) Please hang on in there little ones.

MrsH LOL at your DH "loading you up" before you go away I'm sure the pre-seed will help, and it's certainly not going to do any harm.

EI You always think of such great names! I am loving your relaxed approach this cycle.

Caitni I'm glad it went well at the gp on saturday, but at the wait for a SA! Am glad your DH has booked himself in somewhere else, it's definitely money well spent (can't believe the london prices though) My DH would thoroughly agree with the size of the receptacle! It's not easy for these poor men to "aim" - especially when they are stressed. We must definitely start a campaign

PnM So sorry to hear you have been poorly. Hope you are on the mend now. What a priviledge to be asked to read at the funeral, i can thoroughly understand your anxiety about it though. Your poor sister, she must be worried and frightened. I think the fertility enforcers need to go and have words with that GP!

RFN2 Good to see you. Good luck with the sperm meets egg plan. I think your DH is going to be a very happy bunny

MrsHappy · 03/11/2008 20:07

Oh wow MOB it must have been incredible to see your embryos on the screen. It's so lovely, I really want it to work out for you both.

PNM I am sorry you've been feeling poorly. I know it's going to be hard reading at your friend's mother's funeral but it is really a lovely thing to do for your friend and you are a very strong person so I am sure you will carry it off. As for your sister, it sounds to me as though her HCG levels are simply too low to be a viable pregnancy (hence the Dr's statement), although obviously some unusual pregnancies start off very low and are still turn out to be viable. The most likely scenario is a chemical pregnancy so try not to fret too much about ectopic. I don't know if an ectopic would cause pain this early (she's only about 4-5 weeks, yes?) but she should of course keep an eye on it and if the pain gets to a 7 out of 10 (10 being the worst) or if she has bleeding that looks like prune juice or shoulder tip pain she must get herself to the hospital sharpish. When is her scan? It may be too early for it to be useful but together with a series of blood HCGs should give a proper answer. I hope you're both ok. What a tough week you're having. (((higs)))

Good luck with the Deanna plan, RFN2. That much sex can't be bad!

Well I am very surprised. I am at CD 13 and my opk says . This is going to be the shortest cycle I have ever had at this rate. Even better, assuming that I ov tomorrow, this gives us today and tomorrow to give it a fair whack before my trip. I just have to remember that as I am lopsided my chances are not that great regardless..

HappyandEiknowit · 03/11/2008 21:42

MOB you are now technically preg all we need is for them to burrow their way deep into your womb lining and whammo you are soon to be a mummy again and your DH will be a daddy at last!! im so happy for you
hello to everyone else
xx ei xx

Caitni · 03/11/2008 22:16

MOB wow, grade 1 and practically grade 1 - that's such good news - I'm so glad that it all went well . It must be utterly overwhelming! And we'll be here for you for the whole TWW (and this is officially the most exciting TWW ever ). I'll be keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you xx

MrsH yay for the OPK! If ever there was a month when an early ov was wanted/needed . I hope you catch that egg good and proper

Hi to PnM RFN2 Ei and everyone else.
xx

PicknMix · 04/11/2008 07:12

Wowsers MOB!! A grade 1 and an almost grade 1 is fab! We most certainly will be with you for this 2ww, am sooo excited for you and your family!

Hope your making the most of your smiley face opk MrsH Great news its early before you go away!

Have a lovely day everyone else xx

MrsHappy · 04/11/2008 09:38

Loving the use of "wowsers" BTW. Not a word I've heard for a while.

Madoldbird · 04/11/2008 16:11

Thanks for all your good wishes ladies I'm glad you're all here to help me through the 2ww. I am already mulling over symptoms, such as sore boobs, but of course that is all the progesterone i am taking (have i told you about the lovely pessaries???)DH is watching over what i eat and what i do - he made me have breakfast this morning (i never normally bother with it) all to make sure the embryos are ok! Funnily enough, i sensed the embryos needed a cream scone about an hour ago... )

MrsH so pleased about your +ve opk - how's the bonkathon going?? Really is perfect timing for you.

How is everyone else today?

Bucky2008 · 04/11/2008 16:38

I posted a big old post over the weekend and its not here .

I can't even remember what I wrote but I know I congratulated MOB and did lots of messages for everyone else.

Thanks for remembering me even though I am just lurking around. I have only read since say about Thursday last week, but it seems you are all keeping busy.

I wonder where my post got too .

Mid cycle here...CD19 I think but not much bding went on so BFP unlikely.

Will try and repost later. xx

Bucky2008 · 04/11/2008 16:41

Oh AND i had loads of 'eggstremely' good words too....darn....

OP posts:
Caitni · 04/11/2008 16:43

MOB it's lovely to hear that your DH's taking care of you . And also so glad the embryos are getting all the cream scone goodness they need . While the prog pessaries can't be fun, at least it means that your doing everything you can to help those beans burrow in nice and snug .

PnM I love the word wowsers! It's definitely under-used, it may perhaps become my new WIMBAIF word . Hope you're doing OK lady xx

MrsH Hope you're enjoying the bonkathon (great word MOB ). Are you off tomorrow night, or are you leaving Thurs morning?

Not much going on with me. I'm on CD 10 and still only a high reading on my monitor so am now thinking I'll ov later than my usual CD 11 - still low temps and lots of EWCM. Not too bothered, as would quite like a longer cycle after last month's freaky 21 day cycle . I've also got a DH who's up to his eyeballs in man cold so not too much bd-ing going on. Still, he can cough all he wants but he's getting pounced on tonight (you know you're a ttc desperado when lemsip is an aphrodisiac ).

Am also totally obsessed with the US elections as DH is American so I really really really really want Obama to win and get rid of the awful Republican administration that's done so much harm to the States (and the planet!) over the last 8 years (did I tell you I really want Obama to win? ).

Hope all's well with everyone
xx

Caitni · 04/11/2008 16:45

Bucky hello! [caitni waves furiously]. So good to hear from you though at the MN trickery that means we never saw your weekend post. Eggsasperating!

MrsHappy · 04/11/2008 18:32

Bucky hello my dear. Am v pleased you're still with us. Have you been having any more late night trolley racing eggsploits?

MOB yours is the most eggciting 2WW ever since for once we are sure that sperm and egg have met. I have heard that cream cakes aid implantation so go for your life!

Caitni I hope your DH is back on full form soon. Get him on the echinacea and don't let him make any excuses for not performing his husbandly duties!!

I am about to join MOB on the 2WW since I have ov cramps - bizarrely they are on both sides so maybe I am producing 2 eggs which would be good. Last night I gave the Preseed an outing but did not tell my DH what I had done. The poor man was very confused by it all which led to much hilarity. So ttc is not all doom and gloom then!

Am off on my trip tomorrow afternoon so I may not be around until the weekend - lots of meetings etc leave little time for MN! But will check in on Saturday hopefully.

Caitni · 05/11/2008 09:54

Morning all

MrsH glad to hear of ov pains on both sides - a very good sign for this month . It's great that your ov was perfectly timed with your work trip . Hope you have a good trip.

MOB hope you're doing well today

Hi to Ei Bucky JG PnM and RFN2 - hope everyone's well (and happy with the Obama win!).

MrsHappy · 05/11/2008 11:03

Hi all

Unfortunately my DH wasn't feeling so great last night so there was action the night before the ov pains but not the same day as. Hopefully it's enough (and that tube gets with the programme).

My temp has gone up a bit but I was 40 mins early taking it today so hopefully tomorrow it will be higher and will confirm ovulation as yesterday... And in the meantime I seem to have EWCM. Am confused. Do you think having a cold can mean more EWCM???

Hope you are all well. Any more patisserie-related cravings, MOB?

Caitni · 05/11/2008 12:05

Hi MrsH action the night before the ov pains is plenty, as the EWCM means the little swimmers will have been nice and ready for the egg(s) . I reckon a cold can through things off CM wise, though my own CM seems to have changed this month and last (just when I thought I knew the patterns backwards!) so feeling a lot less assured about CM than I was
