OP posts:
Caitni · 20/10/2008 22:16

MrsH I'm inclined to agree with FF for when you ov'd, based on the other signs like + opk, as I often get a smaller temp rise followed by a proper temp rise. The spotting could well be implantation (sorry, I can't stop looking on the bright side for you) so your temp may only start to really rise from tomorrow once implantation's taken place. If AF does show up then the spotting is definitely something to discuss with mr needles. It could just be your body settling down after your lap surgery, but mr needles sorted out my pre-AF spotting a good bit.

MrsHappy · 20/10/2008 22:37

Hm, then I might be late. Oooooo.
I don't normally have spotting.

I've just been going on to my DH about how nice it is to be getting my period and not to have twinges on the right side of my tum. Sorry if TMI but before the op I used to get sharp pains even when I had a poo right before my period, so I can't help thinking that tube was a mess or getting squashed or something. Anyway I was happy to be having normal period cramps and now I am thinking "what if they're not period cramps?" (and I MUST NOT get my hopes up at all, I'm sure if I do my nasty period will show up later tonight). You're right that I should discuss the spotting with someone if it happens again. Sorry, am rambling, but am finding today a bit confusing. Have just checked and my cervix is v high too.

Aaaargggghhhhhh!

Madoldbird · 21/10/2008 08:45

Morning ladies

MrsH Couldn't help peeking at your chart again (I am more obsessed with other people's cycles than my own ) and your temp is still high, isn't it? Looking again, i have a feeling you may have ov'd a day later than FF say (as i think you may have mentioned yesterday) Still looking good though...

Caitni Had a peek at your chart too! Looks like you may be heading down for an implantation dip??! I really hope it is (Am not trying to encourage obsessive symptom spotting, honest )

Good morning to everyone else - hope you are all well.

I managed my first injection last night, with no problems. TBH, the thought of it is actually worse than doing it. From tonight onwards it will be two injections a night. I am just willing those follicles to grow nicely!

readyfornum2 · 21/10/2008 09:57

MOB Glad the injections arent too bad Its quite exciting following your journey and I really hope it is a success for you x

MRSHAPPY Hope things are good for you, any signs of a bfp? Dont really understand temping but I hope it is an implantation dip

CAITNI I hope that things are good for you too x It would be fab if we had a load of BFPS this month

PnM How are you doing? Is af still staying away for you?

Well its 9DPO for me and still no symptoms to spot! My boobs are still tender but I know full well that they are like this every month so not getting excited about that.

Its hard because DS was a suprise I dont really know what my early symptoms were with him! The only thing that I can remember is that they day after I got my bfp my nipples were agony to touch, I had no sickness or anything so perhaps the fact I have no symptoms is a good thing

I think that next month we will try the sperm meets egg thing, after have a read through it, it sounds quite good (if not tiring lol) and I am sure that I can persuade DP to take part

Caitni · 21/10/2008 10:31

Morning ladies

MOB so glad the first injection went well, though twice nightly injections does sound like a lot. Just think of those egg follicles growing though! I hope that lots of eggs are collected

MrsH how's things this morning? Your temp is looking nice and high! Am getting cautiously excited for you...

RFN2 I'm the exact same with the tender boobs every month! Still let it convince me sometimes though try hard to remember it's more a sign I've ov'ed than anything else . Since your DS was a surprise, I think there's a v good chance you'll get a bfp soon - like maybe even in a few days!! But if not then that sperm meets egg thing does look good (and bet your DH would love it )

Big hello to everyone else - Ei did your AF show up in the end? PnM hope you're enjoying your new kitchen table [smile} and to Bucky (are you in NYC yet?) JG (hope you're not working too hard and [whispers] I'd love if you got broadband at home as I'd love to hear your news!) Mibbes JB and anyone I've forgotten.

I'm 6dpo and despite MOB's hopes that it's an implantation dip, I think this morning's lower temp was more that I woke up with the duvet off me ...though we definitely covered all bases by bd-ing more than usual this month so expect lots of tww madness from me over the next few days! AF is due Mon/Tue and FF's given me a test date of next Tues 28 Oct. Have decided to not test early this month so shall see if I stick to my guns on that

MrsHappy · 21/10/2008 11:03

Yes, temp is still a little high.
Cramps have gone.
No more spotting.
Am terrified either way.
Sorry, self-absorbed, but really am bricking it.

Caitni · 21/10/2008 11:43

oh MrsH, have you tested yet? This must be so stressful for you but try not to worry too much. You've been through the wringer this year, but the statistics of having a healthy pregnancy are overwhelmingly on your side. Didn't the consultant who handled your last EP say he fully expected to see you with a healthy pregancy within months?

Feel free to come on here and rant/rambling/obsess as much as you want. We're here to listen. to you xx

MrsHappy · 21/10/2008 12:29

No, and I sort of don't want to.
It's a combination of fear re chem pregs, concern (if I am up the duff) re planning scans/surgery etc around work again (so soon!) when I have so much on, not wanting to start that dreadful limbo of not knowing if all is ok (inconclusive scans, repeat HCG bloods etc etc) and getting bollocked by the doctors when they realise I have not exactly complied with their rules...

I may just put my fingers in my ears and say "la la la la la"

Caitni · 21/10/2008 15:23

I totally understand your fears about testing - wait til you get 18 high temps and then think about it. That would take you up to Saturday-ish and should rule out the risk of a CP.

JollyBear · 21/10/2008 17:42

Hello ladies,

MrsH I completely understand why you don't want to test but your chart sure looks promising. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you till Saturday.

MOB Golly, things are really kicking off now. How very exciting. Good luck with the injections - do you feel any different?

caitni Good luck with not testing! Your chart looks lovely too

Sorry for not saying hello to everyone but my teas ready and I'm so hungry . Big to everyone.

MrsHappy · 21/10/2008 20:24

Hi all

Well I did test just because I figured it is probably best to know either way, and I got a BFN. I am strangely a little pleased because I have some commitments in 2 weeks that will clash badly with hospital visits!

Now I've just got to find out where my wretched period has gone. Do you think it is possible to have a temp shift and yet not ovulate?

PicknMix · 21/10/2008 21:58

Evening all,

MrsH I'm sorry to read about the bfn but you do know that 1) it possibly doesn't count as you didn't use fmu and 2) sadly it is possible to get a temp shift without ovulating. I'm sure it happens to me all the time - my temp charts look more like the Rock Mountains. But I think that might be more to do with [suspected] PCOS in my case. I think sadly its a case of 'wait and see' for you again this month. Sorry, I'm no help whatsoever, I do really feel for you though as I can only imagine how difficult this is for you after the last few months. Biggest higs xx

MOB I'm sooooooooooooo excited for you!!! Yay for a good scan and even bigger YAY for an ok first injection!! I think it was Caitni who said keep your eyes on the prize - positive thoughts through the twice nightly injections for you!

Caitni my kitchen table it looking lovely in place now! I hasten to add that the £200ish we were going to spend was on a second hand one from eBay as living the 'reclaimed' life (I believe 'reclaimed' is far more fashionable than 2nd hand nowadays isn't it!?) is deffo a lifestyle choice for us - why buy new when you can make use of somebody elses cast offs? Literally everything we own, furniture wise, is 'pre-loved', incl. cooker/fridge etc! Oooooh, I'm off on a waffle now but its a subject fairly close to my heart! We are regulars on the Freecycle website - you should check it out!

Anyway, only a week to go for you - make sure you hide those pregnancy tests so you aren't taunted by them to test early. Have high hopes for you this month lady...

How many days is your lp usually RFN2? I've seen that Sperm Meets Egg plan - would love to partake but my cycles are hidiously erratic so I would end up spending a fortune on opks

Hope your supper was nice JB!! Ei are you ok??? Did I read correct that you are one of the ladies who contributed to this article? Brilliant piece of writing with some very valid points in. Have to say my experience when I miscarried was actually very positive (in terms of NHS care) but the EPAC unit I was at has now been shut down which is the BIGGEST loss to my local hospital as the nurses there were fantastic. I know that my experience is probably not the norm for everybody though. Hope you're ok - has DH found a job yet? Did af make an appearance? Hope not xx

Hi to everyone else - I've waffled an extreme amount this evening and haven't cooked my supper yet so am super hungry (although have been snacking on my Nigella inspired home cooked Rocky Road, yum!).

Quick cycle update - CD 40 today, am doing copious amounts of knicker checking, boob prodding (they're VERY sore but thats not change from most months). Back has started hurting so am expecting af tomorrow or thursday. Did a test this a.m - bfn natch so no hope left here....

PicknMix · 21/10/2008 22:06

Crikey, I waffled so much and yet forgot to say that I've been offered a new role within my current company! I turned down the original job offer (totally new career path in a photography studio - fab but not right with our baby dreams) so played the career game with my company and they have bettered the offer moneywise and given me a new role to boot! Haven't agreed yet but will be moved up to 'Assistant Buyer' for the entire company... Woohoo! In current climate this is much more secure long term and will give me a much better maternity package (obviously I haven't been this candid with my employers!).

Hi to everyone I missed in my mammouth post before

MrsHappy · 22/10/2008 11:02

Hi All

Pinkmix well done on getting that job offer. It sounds like a great opportunity.

Ei were you one of the ladies quoted in the Times? It was a good article. I have always found the hospital staff to be very good when I have had losses, but there are always lapses particularly when resources aren't up to much. For example, with my first ectopic I was shown to an office so I could be away from prying eyes after my scan. I hadn't been told what was wrong and the nurse came in and phoned a Dr to ask them to come and tell me that I had an ectopic. I started crying and the nurse asked "Did my colleague tell you what is wrong then?" I said "No, but I am not deaf, you know." And then she said "I'm sorry you had to find out that way". It makes me laugh to think about it now (like I was in the Fawlty Towers Hospital) but at the time I was really upset? Most of their care was just great though, so I didn?t complain. They just only had one room with a private phone and I happened to be sat in it!

JB It's lovely to see you. I really like it when you guys pop in. How is jollycub coming along?

MOB I am still very impressed with the injecting. It is going to be so worth it in the end! (and you're making me feel like maybe I can do it if I need to).

Well, no further progress from me as my temp is still above the cover line. I did think maybe I haven?t ovulated, but decided that was probably not the case since there is a definite shift in my chart. I think this is either a corpus luteum cyst or (much less likely) another ectopic. Anyway time will tell and I have got the clinic in a couple of weeks so they can have a good look around and tell me what they think if my period is still missing. It does feel rather like it is one thing after another though? I'd give my eye teeth for a straightforwrad, no complications, 10dpo BFP with no flipping ectopics.

I hope that Bucky, JG and our pregnant ladies are still popping in from time to time. Caitni I am pinning my hopes on you this month, so get thinking positive thoughts.

Caitni · 22/10/2008 13:56

Hi ladies

MrsH I'm sorry you don't have a definite answer yet - I'm keeping my fingers crossed you get a + soon. I definitely think you've ovulated btw - the temp shift is clear, as well as CM and OPK signs as well. Your experience during your first EP sounds horrible as well

PnM yay for your new job!!! Big congrats on that, glad to hear it's got such a much better maternity package too . And I love the "reclaimed" lifestyle 0 made a conscious decision to adopt that approach as well - I think my DH would rather gouge out his own eye than go into an Ikea nowadays...though suspect it's less ethical on his part and more that he hates all the queues and the fact that the furniture lasts about five minutes...

Ei god, that Times article was powerful. It's shocking the way some women are treated during miscarriages. Am also gobsmacked at some of the terminology. I hope you didn't have anything too awful during your losses.

MOB how's the injecting going missus? Hope those eggies realise they've got lots of cyber buddies "egging" them

JB hope you had a lovely tea . I can barely be civil when I'm hungry (I turn into swivel-eyed low blood sugar fiend!). Hope you and jollycub are doing splendidly.

Waves to everyone else, including Bucky JG/GG RFN2 & Mibbes

Not much going on here in the way of symptoms...though my temp did rise quite sharply this morning . FF nows tells me I have 45 points on its Early Pregnancy Signs indicator (yet more ). I have no idea what this means - twas 6.45am when I was inputting my temp so a bit bleary eyed and work is busy today, of all inconveniences, so haven't had a chance to log back in and check it out - grrr! Now of course I'm practically muttering to myself "please let it by an implantation dip, please let it go triphasic". Tragic!!

MrsHappy · 22/10/2008 14:37

Gosh Caitni it looks like your temp really whizzed back up this morning. Let's hope this is the start of 9 months of high temperatures!!

I am starting to wonder again whether maybe I ov'd a day later than FF thinks again, in which case I may only have been at 14dpo yesterday. If that spotting was implantation then maybe I have a late implanter that just hasn?t shown up yet. Clutching at straws but I want this resolved either way. Either a nice viable uncomplicated pregnancy (which this does not look like right now, it seems more like another ep to me [grr]) or for my wretched period to begin so that I can get on with trying again...

MrsHappy · 22/10/2008 15:51

I may now have the answer.
More spotting suggests AF is on her way.

My next egg will be .... when I am out of the country on business. Oh good.

Caitni · 22/10/2008 16:11

MrsH sorry to hear you think it's AF, but you sound pragmatic about it. I took another look at your chart and I reckon you and MOB are right and perhaps you did ov a day later...guess it'll be a mystery as to why your period was late. Big to you.

Madoldbird · 22/10/2008 17:30

Caitni Wow, that chart is looking good!! I have high hopes for you Looking forward to seeing your chart tomorrow. I shall have a word with my eggs - and let them know of all the cyber support they are getting

MrsH Sorry to hear you think your period has turned up. (Is it definitely your period??) At least you know where you are, i guess. Will you really be away when you ovulate next month How long are you away for? (Don't forget those swimmers can live a few days)Hope you're ok - thinking of you.

PnM Congratulations on your new job / promotion. That's great news So much better than going to a new company at this stage of ttc. When do you start in your new role? I'm really excited for you.

EI Wow - you are practically famous Well done for getting such an important topic out into the open. You are brilliant - you have such a lot going on in your own life yet you take time to help with something like this that will make a difference long term.

Not much to report here - injections are going fine - for those of you who may have to contemplate doing it at some point, it really is quite straightforward. I have a few twinges on the right hand side, hopefully the meds are having an effect on my follicles already! (Am worrying that the twinge is only one side - maybe i really do only have one ovary - what will i do if i ever have nothing to worry about )

MrsHappy · 22/10/2008 21:44

MOB let's hope those twinges are lots of grade A eggs getting ready. Yes, this has to be my period. It's a bit odd but I think I just have to put this cycle down as the weird post-surgical one and leave it at that.

One the upside my last operation scab came off today so I am starting to look vaguely healed at last.

Next step is the clinic, where I am afraid they are going to laugh at me...

Are you still feeling nice and hot, Caitni? I have a good feeling about you and your fabulous chart this time.

MrsHappy · 22/10/2008 21:48

ps One ovary is all it takes MOB. I bet you have two, but if not so what? Don't we only have two of organs so that we'll have a spare?

PicknMix · 22/10/2008 23:11

MrsH, although I'm sorry to say it, I really do hope this is your period so you can draw a line under this cycle and begin the new one fresh (and scabless !). Bloody ttc is proving to be more of a pain in the arse than I ever invisiged. Big higs to you.

Mob I'm hoping that our collective WIMBEWAI[N]F positive thinking encourages those injections to do their stuff properly!

Wow Caitni you are one hot lady at the moment! I have high hopes for you that you will be waving the bfp flag for us this month!!

I'm off to bed in a sec - had another day of fruitless knicker checking. No af yet. Boobs so sore am scared to remove my bra. Month tastes horrible - has done for days plus sinus' suddenly started hurting today. However wont allow any excitement, have been here before, about 20 times to be exact (tis 22 actual calender months next month, how sobering is that), on the other hand, had major period style cramping yesterday and back has that special pre-af ache going on. Am joining you on the 'who know whats going on with my cycle' bench MrsH.

Night all xx

EisGotASeveredHeadinherHandbag · 22/10/2008 23:27

hi ladies
sorry i have been neglecting you lot of late things have been quite busy here what with DH getting a new job and starting monday and also with AF camping in my pants i have been rather preoccupied trying to get myself into not-thinking-about-TTC mode this is going to be the most relaxed BD for fun filled cycle ever!! aswell as shifting more weight my next plan of action is to relax about things so there!! in your face TTC stress
mrshappy sorry AF arrived for you but we are almost cycle buddies as my AF arrived on sunday which makes me CD4 i think
caitni fingers crossed for you lady
MOB im so excited for you there will be an announcement from you soon i can feel it in my bones
judith i hope you are lurking and that you know we are missing you on here
PnM i hope your AF doesnt arrive and you get a nice BFP
bucky i hope you are lurking and you are enjoying being back to the old you
a big hello to anyone i have inadvertantly miseed
xx ei xx

Caitni · 23/10/2008 10:21

Morning all

Ei so glad to hear about your DH's new job - woo hoo!! And socking one to the stress of ttc by relaxing is a great idea...the one month I got a + result was when I'd be on holidays and not temping or using monitor, just keeping a relaxed eye on CM and regularly pouncing on DH. Hope it means you get a November BFP

MrsH glad to hear that the scabs are healed. But so sorry that AF arrived. And no one at the clinic will laugh at you, they'll understand that you've been on a rollercoaster these past months. And when's your app with ACU?

MOB oooh those twinges sound like the injections are doing the business! Hope you get a nice haul of eggs. We'll be awarding cyber gold stars to them on collection

PnM um, horribly sore boobs, funny taste in mouth, no AF...these all sound suspiciously like symptoms to me young lady!! I really hope AF stays away and you get a BFP

So temp still reasonably high this morning and now have 45 points on the Early Pregnancy signs indicator on FF, which is apparently quite good . Am trying desperately not to get my hopes up, as only 8 dpo so far too early to test yet. And I've just decided to go up to Oxford to see a friend on Saturday night, as an attempt to keep me from obsessing about "symptoms" and knicker-checking all weekend.

MrsHappy · 23/10/2008 12:49

Hi everyone

Ei Yay for your DH! That's great that he's found a new job so soon. Now I seem to remember that one of your recent positives came in a month when you were so relaxed that you forgot to temp and didn't even realise that you were late for a bit. So relaxation is clearly the ticket. November BFPs all round I say.

Caitni the chart is still looking good. I have no idea what these point things mean - only have the basic FF membership. Clearly VIP membership is far more whizzy than I thought...

PnM those symptoms do sound suspiciously sign-like to me. Ok, some of them can be caused by progesterone but I don't think the funny taste is one of them. Hope you don't mind but I am going to be quietly hopeful for you

How are the eggs MOB?

A quiet (ish) day for me. I have a day off and so am looking after my little girl. She has such a packed schedule though, so it is quite hard work (but frequently hilarious)!!
And she reminds me of what I already have which is important.

I'm not too fussed about my period showing. Yes, it would be nice to get pg right away, and I can't help thinking that I should have been about to go on mat leave, but actually this is my first normal period since May. Since then I have only had MC bleeds or post-surgical bleeds. So really it is probably good to give my poor old hormones a break.

The reason I am worried the clinic will laugh is I suspect most people who see them have had tests done/are unable to conceive for a long time etc. I on the other hand might well be fine, but am not prepared to leave everything up to chance forever (the NHS's suggestion). Still, hopefully they will understand I just want to talk about the options and maybe have tests on my remaining tube. Since it is so hard to see anyone decent at my GP I do think I am better off going straight to the clinic. It does seem a bit like overkill and my poor DH will have to go to the wanky porn room, but hopefully all will be ok.

Must run get the offspring up for the afternoon's fun!
