Well, I'd like to start this thread by saying a BIG FAT CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who has managed to get their BFP so far, and an equally huge dollop of luck to all those of us waiting for our BFP's!

Ses! Mopping! At 9.45!

Lol - it wouldn't happen in my house! But then I'm not selling - don't envy you, I'm not sure how I'd cope with random visitors able to pop in at any time.

Evening Gruffalo, I don't envy you your dissertation writing - what is your subject?

Night Ses! I probably ought to go too, in fact I should have gone ages ago. I'm working from home tomorrow though which allows me a bit of a lie-in, although I normally have to get up and rush around tidying in preparation for the cleaners arriving . Think tomorrow I'll have to ask them to help me tidy and clean . I just haven't had the energy to do anything.

Fingers crossed that DS will sleep through tonight.

Firstly Ses sounds like a good decision to go at it for a while without going at it. As it were . I guess being relaxed is the most important thing. I've not used a thermometer Im afraid. Good luck though. :-)

Secondly Ses- thank you so much for your reassuring words... so nice to get some facts. And that really makes me feel better about the MC risk. I know i need to just get over it and stop taking it but its hard thing to get my head round. Especially after it took me 10 long mths to get used to (made me feel dreadfully sick).

Think I've got so set in my mind that I must take these drugs that I forget that the reason that I take them has just been achieved.

Thanks for the private Gyo psycho clinic today

Gruffalo good luck with the dissertation, I really dont envy. Will chuck some matchsticks over the A331 if you need them

Welcome Kal Welcome Busylady - you will love it here...

GYo · 14/07/2008 22:08

Ses- sorry for abusing your professional knowledge but is Metformin licenced now for PCOS for non-pregnant women? Im sure this was the issue my GP gave me when I first asked for it....

Just curious...

GruffaloSoldier · 14/07/2008 22:14

ahh go on then ses Im sending you a virtual marshmallow - its my last one so enjoy it! You can mop my floor in return if you like - it is very grotty!

Cals - I used preseed for first time yesterday! It was quite comical Probably a bit early to be using it but I am impatient and wanted to give it a try!

GruffaloSoldier · 14/07/2008 22:20

Thanks Gyo I'm ready to catch them

Cals- I am doing MSc in psychology and research methods but my area is autism and education.I love it, but unfortuneately I left the write up to the last minute so now it is a slow painful slog.

2beautifulgirls · 15/07/2008 07:52

Morning everyone

Another early wake for me at 6.30am, boobies are HUGE!!!

POAS this morning, may slightly be a faint BFP however was an internet cheapy and i don't trust them until it is big, fat and clear..... this was not. Will re-test in the morning.

Gruffalo, Good luck with your dissertation, sounds very intersting, my area of interest.
I remember my dissertation and being locked in at my mums for a week straight going to bed at 12am-1am and waking again at 6!!!! I did finish it though. Mine was on Father, child attachments.

Ses - hope the second viewers of your house, make an offer.

Right better get the kiddies dressed and do the school trek.

calsworld · 15/07/2008 07:52

Sorry GS, had to go to bed! The pre-seed added a few comedy moments to our 'routine' and I think helped lighten the mood and take the focus off TTC and emphasise having fun.

Also, I don't get much CM, certainly not compared to when I was in my twenties anyway, so it makes BD very much more comfortable, and if it helps the little fellers on their way, all the better!

I assume you mean early in your cycle? IMO, its never too early - so many people get caught out with early / late OV's that were unexpected that its best to cover all bases .

That's an interesting subject for your dissertation, I did one many years ago now (ummm, 1998 so ten years ago) and found it really hard going. Worth it though, in the end! It really absorbs you doesn't it!

Teuch · 15/07/2008 07:57

Oh, by the way 2bg...sometimes those ebay cheapies just don't get darker!!!

Kalikaroo · 15/07/2008 08:20

Good morning! Thanks for the welcome everyone
I'm thinking about starting to chart my temp, but haven't got around to buying a thermometer yet. Would be useful to know when I ov, since my cycles are a bit crazy.

Spoke to DH last night about how seriously we should try, and he said he needs a while to get used to the idea of not using any protection before we make a major deliberate attempt - he seems to like the idea of trying but is totally freaked out by it at the mo!

I think I should stop talking to him about it since I think he's getting a bit fed up of me whittering on about it all the time!

Have decided not to buy any pg tests until I am seriously late - bit too optimistic??

Cosmogirl · 15/07/2008 08:29

Morning guys,

Just been looking up pre-seed coz wasn't sure what it was. We used some Durex Play some of the times during when we were trying this cycle. Opps. I realise now that maybe this was not the best idea...

If I ov'd on Monday I should be 8dpo today, if Weds then 6 dpo. Thinking of doing an early test on Friday morning maybe.

Welcome to the wagon Kal

tinkhasagorgeousbean · 15/07/2008 08:34

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/07/2008 08:34

Morning all

Welcome to the newbies

Sorry for all the faint lines/BFN's/MIA periods etc.! I can't keep up with each one individually I do know how the waiting feels though...

Well, I am 15+3 or something today, already feeling like 42+ something! LOL And so fed up of people/internet articles saying stupid things like "you are blooming" "you have the most energy" "probably never felt better" "your sex drive will increase" WHEN????????????? I feel worse now than I did in the first trimester! And although hearing the HB on the doppler is reassuring, am a bit worried that I can't feel anything definate, as in movements, by 15 weeks with both the boys I was getting proper kicks, and at the moment I can't hand on heart say I've even felt slight flutterings, there has been a couple of times when I've thought oh that could be it, but then I convince myself it wasn't....

Anyway, sorry for the me me me post, will do better next time! xxx

tinkhasagorgeousbean · 15/07/2008 08:37

hey nat how r u?!

i am 14wks on thurs and look enormous. it is hard disguinshing movements isnt it maybe yours is in a funny position making it harder to feel. i am hoping to get my doppler fri cant wait as havent heard hb yet

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/07/2008 09:05

LOL Seriously, word of warning: don't ask how I am!! LOL I have a moan list as long as the M1, and will happily roll it out for anyone wishing to slit their wrists listen! LOL

I keep meaning to look at my notes from the scan to see if they put the position of the placenta on it, I am guessing that lack of movements = anterior - who knows?

I am smaller (weight wise) than I was when I got pregnant with DS2, and I was feeling the first flutterings with him at 8 weeks, I actually went into the labour ward at 16 weeks because I hadn't felt him move for over 24 hours, so I don't think the whole 'skinnies feel the movements first' thing counts.

Will check my notes now...

Nope, no mention of placenta positioning....

Hooray for your doppler, it is very reassuring

tinkhasagorgeousbean · 15/07/2008 11:07

soz about your worries and moans hope that they arent serious. they said that my placenta is high

tinkhasagorgeousbean · 15/07/2008 11:08

how long r nuchal blood results meant to take had mine a wk mon and still havent got them

babytime · 15/07/2008 11:10

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Just typed a really long message and it deleted itself!

Quick round up now

GS - Goodluck with your dissertation. You deserve a pat on the back managing all that. I just handed in course work for a life skill course and I really struggled getting it done and it would be no-where near as complex as what you are doing. And with all this ttc going round in your head too. Fingers crossed for all your hard work.

GYo - how are you today?

2beautifulgirls - i think you are right, my body is reacting to all this ttc and making my periods lighter. it has to be, it stopped yesterday, started last night, little bit this morning and stopped again. I am going to make a special effort to not think I am pregnant each month

MOnkeynuts - be interesting to hear if you are having a normal period too?

Hello everyone else.

GYo · 15/07/2008 11:23

Good morning all

Hi Nat- sorry youve got a long list of moans-reel them out if you need, thats why we are here

Thanks for asking baby am feeling much better today. Thanks for some sensible advice from Ses yesterday Im back on course and actually feeling great today. Even managed 30mins of walking at the gym this morning

How are you baby- any more testing?

Amused that the blouse I wore last week, no longer really buttons up properly. I thought my boobs were bigger but now I know they are.

I've still not told anyone - My DH has told his friend that he is on hols with, who was apparently really pleased.

Glask- any news from your end? Sorry if I've missed a posting...

Better get on with work before another meeting ( )

Diege · 15/07/2008 11:33

Morning! In office today and hoping to skive off 3ish as I seem to be the only one in!
2BG looking very hopeful on the pregnancy front . Thanks for the reassurannce too about the bean - honestly, if I have nothing to worry about I worry; I am a hopeless case!
Hi nat, good to hear from you. I'm sure you'll feel movement soonn - still very early days 'on paper' and could be well be position of placenta as you say .
TINKs, good luck with nuchal results. When I had my early bloods done last time they came back in 3 days, ready for scan when a calculation could be made taking them into account, but if you are having them done on NHS (???)could take a lot longer I guess. If private, give them a ring maybe?
GRUFFALO - lol about your dissertation. I have sympathy honestly, but had student on the phone yesterday pleading for an extension on hers, so I am getting the cattle prod ready for you...
GYO, glad you're feeling better .
Hello to everyone else!

glaskham · 15/07/2008 11:34

Morning!!

GYo AF arrived this morning

i've currently got the kids 'tidying' the living room but they are making more mess than anything!!

DS's sports day is tomorrow and i have the family coming to the house and coming to watch him so have been busy tidying today!! DH is trying to finish work early to come too so I hope we can have a bbq!!

Collected the car on saturday and the clutch had been fixed, but the cam-belt needs replacing now so thats costing another £180!!!! F*&^"$ car!! We we're gutted, phoned D-MIL and told her and she just said to DH 'i'm sending a cheque to cover the repairs, will £400 do it?' he said he wont accept it, so she said if he didn't she'd just send it him for his birthday anyway!! so we can still go to london.... AND DH's grandparents phoned last night and said they we're also sending a cheque to cover the repairs.... we explained D-MIL was sending one and he said cash his instead!! We're stuck as both of them are almost fighting to pay for it.... we think we're gonna put both in the bank but give them both half back when we visit so they have paid half each!!...... Why are his family so nice???

anyway, the car's going in for the cam belt on thursday, dd has her MMR jab thursday afternoon... not looking forward to it!!

Right i've blabbed far too much- better go rescue my living room and feed the kids before nursery!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/07/2008 11:38

Sorry Tink, I don't know how long the results take, I don't think I've ever had the nuchal, not sure if I did or not with DS1 (different part of the country) and well before my MN time so I didn't have a clue about a lot of it!

Babytime, it is deffo a mind trick this TTC'ing lark, part of me loves the TTC'ing, part of me hates it!

GYo, glad you're feeling more positive Aren't pregnant boobs great? LOL Wait till the milk comes in - DH was in heaven! LOL

My moans are just that, moans! Not fair to bring them here with those that would give anything to have my moans! (Though I can't promise that I won't say "you were warned" when the time comes for everyone on here! )

On the plus side my nails are growing really well Down side so is my hair, only had it cut at the beginning of the month and it already feels like it's lost it's shape

I'm bloody moaning again...... sorry!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/07/2008 11:41

x posts with Diege and Glask

Diege, so whats the plan at 3? You can't skive off and spend it doing mundane things!

Glask, sorry for period You OK?

2beautifulgirls · 15/07/2008 12:13

Teuch - thanks for giving me hope, but the line is almost invisible, ie if i gave it to DH he would say where am i looking?
I have had loads of false hope from the IC so until i see a proper line then i can't get too excited.

Tink- bet your excited about getting the doppler, i had a fetal movement monitor with DD2 but could never really understand what i was hearing? Sorry i know nothing about nuchal results as i didn't have it with either DD's

NJ - sorry that you aren't blooming, i'm sure you will be feeling the bean kicking your ribs and tap dancing on your bladder before long. That is one good thing i enjoy about pregnancy lovely long nails

Babytime - Hopefully your body is just preparing you for your BFP and this month was a test run Have you done aanymore tests?

GYO- glad you are feeling better and a little more relaxed, enjoy your pregnancy.

Diege - i hope you get to skive off early today.

Glask - sorry about the witch.
You definately have a generous and kind Parents and grandparents in-law.
When are you off to London, hope you have a fab time.
Good luck for the sports day this afternoon, DD1 had hers last week and luckily the ran held off until they had finished.
Talking about MMR jabs i'm suppose to have mine on thursday!!! Requirement of the Visa for the US. Poor DD1 has to have a few more aswell. Not looking forward to it!

Think that is everyone, phew!
No i've got to trek back to school to collect DD1 see you all later.

Diege · 15/07/2008 12:58

Afternoon!
Nothing especially exciting for 3pm skive I'm afraid...takes me two hours each way with my commute, so leaving at 3 means I'll get back home about 5.15, which gives me just enough time to clear breakfast things before dh gets back with dds at 6ish . Oh for the lazy days of shopping and lattes etc on the way home...
Oh Galskham, so sorry for af . Really did think that your luck was in this month - I curse my stupid sticks!!!
2bg - did you say it was YOU who was having MMR on Thurs??? Make soure you tell them you are maybe pregnant .
Right, last 'push' then home, although have to say coffee then lunch has been such hard going since I got in at 11
