Well, I'd like to start this thread by saying a BIG FAT CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who has managed to get their BFP so far, and an equally huge dollop of luck to all those of us waiting for our BFP's!

Hi Glask- sorry to hear that your AF arrived.
how are you feeling about it?

Good news that the London trip is still on. Something good fun to look fwd to. Did you decide on what you are doing with DH?

Kalikaroo · 15/07/2008 13:34

Just had a look back at my diary and have worked out that my average cycle length is 32-34 days. So I've had a go on an OV calculator online which says that OV day was 8th July. Might not be accurate though. We only started ttc on 11th, so probably nothing has happened?

It also said witch is due to arrive next tuesday (22nd), so interesting to see if it's right!

Trying not to get too obsessive too soon!! (Am I just sad to be getting so obsessed since we only started ttc this month??)

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/07/2008 13:39

Diege I am dissapointed, I was expecting tales of chocolate and shagathons... oh well.

Kal, I think the first cycle TTC'ing can be the most obbsesive one of all.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/07/2008 13:40

tut obsessive even....

2beautifulgirls · 15/07/2008 13:51

Diege - yes I am suppose to be having MMR and something else on Thursday. If AF hasn't arrived then i won't be having it. I know sounds ridiculous that I have to have MMR,But i'm just following US orders.
Poor DD1 has to have (let me find my list) 7!!!! jabs.

2beautifulgirls · 15/07/2008 13:54

Kal - NJ is right that the first Cycle of TTC can be the most obsessive. I think because we put in so much effort not to get pregnant that when we stop not trying we think it will happen asap.

2beautifulgirls · 15/07/2008 14:01

DD2 has just done a poo on the potty, not in her pants, on the sofa or anywhere else. I was thinking yesterday that we were going to have to put her back in nappies!

Kalikaroo · 15/07/2008 14:04

My Mum used to bribe me on to the potty with smarties apparently!

HappyNewYearFeet06 · 15/07/2008 14:04

Hi to everyone. I am on my first cycle of ttc. I am now on the 2ww, I think! Fertility friend predicted possible ovulation on the 12th which was Sat but am not very in tune with my body. Anyway, I think I am on the 2ww now but not feeling hopeful and I don't know why?? Oh well we will see. Its just a long wait now or so it seems!!

I will read through everyone elses posts I promise.

Kalikaroo · 15/07/2008 14:07

Hi Happy! I'm on my first cycle of ttc too. I think we missed my OV, but maybe this month is just a trial run . Have you decided when you'll do a test?

dinkyboysmum · 15/07/2008 14:09

so AF is due (but hopefully wont arrive iykwim!) on Friday, did hpt yesterday with fmu but got BFN.
today i have loads, and i mean LOADS, of cm.
why???? does anyone else note more cm just before af? or (she asks hopefully) any increase in cm before bfp???

HappyNewYearFeet06 · 15/07/2008 14:13

Hi kalikaroo, I am unsure if we have this month, we didn't exactly exert ourselves! However, it only takes one little blighte for it to happen, again!

I may not test and just see what happens? I remember obsessing over it when ttc dc3 and spent a fortune on tests on the first month but it didn't happen and then the 2nd month I just knew but did do one test when I was late to make sure.

Fingers crossed, if not then this was a practice and must try harder next month!

Good luck everyone.

glaskham · 15/07/2008 14:15

Thanks 2BG, GYo, Diege and NJ.... i'm not too gutted, After getting 2 negative tests I kinda thought i wasn't PG- will teach me for fishing tests out of the bin in hope!!!

And only another week or so and i can seduce DH every night for a fortnight!! I've already given him prior warning!! DS keeps telling me I have a baby in my tummy- poor boy, keeps singing baa baa black sheep to my tummy!!- I'll let him get the practice in though!!

I didn't know but My kids we're in the local newspaper yesterday with the baby competition!!- thats how little I dont do it for the comp!!... The nursery teacher saw them and said i can have her copy of the supplement if i want!!

We're going to London on the 1st August 2BG, going to stay with DH's parents for 3 nights and his grandparents for a night. We're getting a day to ourselves while his parents take the kids to a sort of zoo place, so DH and I are going to go and see Batman at the pictures, then go for a lovely meal and a walk by the river only 5mins away from beckingham palace!!! (ooh get me!!)

glaskham · 15/07/2008 14:19

Dinky- I'm afraid to say I get loads just before AF- BUT others who have and are pg have experienced lots of CM.... I had lots this month and last (wasn't looking for it before then) and have obviously had periods a week or so later.

dinkyboysmum · 15/07/2008 14:22

thanks for that...
i've never really noticed it before (never been lookign for it though!). but just now i had LOADS, am sure i would have noticed this much before??!

time will tell...

Kalikaroo · 15/07/2008 14:28

I've noticed a bit of a difference in CM since TTC (seems to have been a bit more than usual).

I remember reading something that said that there's some kind of substance in men's fluid ("man's milk" for Green Wing fans!! ) that can affect the texture of CM.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/07/2008 14:30

2BG, great news on the poo in potty, it's a big step

Dinky I am one of the ones who had loads (and loads and loads) of CM before BFP - good luck

Glask, glad you aren't too downhearted, deffo don't fish tests out of bin, just don't put them in there in the first place! Glad London is still on!

glaskham · 15/07/2008 14:56

Think i'll just not do tests until AF is late from now on- i swear i must be 'seeing' lines.... Either way I have 3x 20miU tests ready for next month!!

I'm glad London is still on too!! can i ask where is a good place to buy a fertility thermometer from? I dont have too much to spend on one, maybe up to £10-20... you think ebay could be a good bet? and how do i know what temp means what???

off to collect DS from nursery but will be back on in a bit!!

2beautifulgirls · 15/07/2008 15:31

Don't know if i have mentioned it before but my DH is adopting our DD1 (from my previous relationship). Well we have just had the court date through for next week July 24th. Its been a long and slow process but glad the end is in sight. I have already changed her surname this is just a formailty and a bit of paper making it all legal.

2beautifulgirls · 15/07/2008 15:36

Glask - sorry have no idea about fertility thermometer, but would think ebay is a good a place as any.

DD2 just did another poo in potty, then another in her pants however think she had a touch of diahorrea and couldn't get there in time.

Dinky since i have been TTC i seem to have an increase in CM before AF, but not every month? No help i know, hopefully yours is because you will have a BFP soon.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/07/2008 15:38

Glask, I don't know very much about the monitors so may be wrong on this, but I don't think the FM keeps a track of your temps, I think it works off POA(OV)S, you put the stick in the machine and it tests the wee for FSH (I think) hormones, when it detects it, it gives you a + sign (or similar) to say that OV is due - is that right??

If you temp (literally with just a thermometre) then you plot the temps on a graph (think fertility friend is most widely used) then you will see your normal temp rise significantly around OV time.

I think that is how it goes!

2BG, how nice to finally get to end of it, my mum fosters, I know it is a different process but I'd guess a similar amount of crap to go through! Are you going to celebrate?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/07/2008 15:38

Sorry Glask meant to say I think eBay would be the best place.

glaskham · 15/07/2008 15:46

Just looked and i can get a digital one for £2.50.... much cheaper than i thought. Think I may have a bash at temping along-side OPK's.... does that sound too desperate for cycle No3???

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/07/2008 15:51

Not too desparate, and can make it very easy to pin point OV, but just remember the more 'active' things you do, can just bring more stress, and higher expectations.

glaskham · 15/07/2008 15:54

thats my problem... i think i'm expecting to get it with temping and OPKing and do worry if doing both will just upset me even more with a BFN.... Think i could just try temping alone this month and then if i can work with it and get a BFN next time, then, maybe try doing both together for cycle 4???
