Well, I'd like to start this thread by saying a BIG FAT CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who has managed to get their BFP so far, and an equally huge dollop of luck to all those of us waiting for our BFP's!

doh - should say

Right - my period HAS stopped

GYo · 14/07/2008 11:12

Hi BT

Thats sounds really weird seems unlikely to a period to be light for no reason... Strange too that you still have those symptoms. Ive no idea about implanation bleeding but who knows... keeping everything crossed for you. Maybe you should test again in 1 wk, if you can wait?

Thanks for advice re Neals Yard stuff. I will definately get some. Reallllllly dont want any stretch marks. (who does??)

I had better do some work too [sad}

GruffaloSoldier · 14/07/2008 11:13

Gyo, I think that is a good choice. I'm pretty sure it is closer to you, faster roads to get there and FREE parking at Tescos opposite

busylady · 14/07/2008 11:17

babytime · 14/07/2008 11:42

Hello busylady

Welcome to our thread. We are all over the place and full of hormones

2beautifulgirls · 14/07/2008 12:00

Morning everyone,

So finally recovered from the hectic party of 20 4 year olds. Thought it went well, they all enjoyed themselves and no one got hurt?!?

So i'm (let me Check)CD26, No idea when i ovulated, usually get EWCM from around CD10 but none spotted this time, Maybe because we GOF everyday from CD11- CD17 and may have missed it.
AF due anytime between thursday and Monday.
I have had intense cramps CD20- CD24 not continually maybe couple of times a day.
Boobs hurt and are massive, but usually are before AF (but not usually this far in advance) With DD1 sore boobs was my first symptom before i knew i was pregnant. Feeling very very tired, falling asleep in front of TV every night then waking at 6-6.30 every morning
tested today and BFN unless you look in the right light then a very faint +.
Not getting my hopes up as last month i had more symptoms and a BFN.
Going away with some friends and there children at the weekend so won't be testing.

calsworld · 14/07/2008 12:13

GYo - I used the Clarins oil for my bump when pg, my Mum treated me as she'd heard it was the best...I had a tummy that looked like bagpuss by the end .

Actually, I'm not really sad about them at all as its just the mark of a mum!

Babytime - I thought my situation was frustrating but I think I'd be completely loopy if I was in your shoes, sorry its all so confusing for you and fingers tightly crossed, as ever, for BFP's for everyone!

2BG - its sounding very positive for you too - congratulations on the successful birthday party too - bet that was very 'hectotic'!

Welcome to the wagon busylady (good name btw)! Is Zinc good for men to take then?

Morning Playing and Starshine! How are you both feeling?

OP posts:
Playingthe9monthwait · 14/07/2008 12:39

Hi Cal - I am feeling fine . Shouldn't be really but I am! Am tired of course and my boobs hurt but thats about it. If my stomach gets particularly empty I start feeling a bit sick but I just keep topping up the food . Am now 6 weeks at least so should have more symptoms but seem to be getting away with it at the moment. I am aware that tomorrow I could have my head permanently down the loo! Also see the midwife for the first time on Weds so am beginning to get a bit excited!!

Welcome busylady!

Symptoms sounds promosing 2beautiful.

calsworld · 14/07/2008 13:09

Playing, as you say, plenty of time yet for symptoms! I'd advocate writing it all down, if you aren't already, so that when you get to second time around () you know what it was like first time...I know they're all different but I do wish I'd kept better notes!

You might find that being tired makes your tummy queasy too, so take every opportunity you can to rest!

I think my MS kicked in around 7 weeks and hung around till about 38 - so good luck with that!!!

Seeing MW for first time is exciting too, I hope you have a nice one that you get along with, and if you don't like her, don't forget you have the right to change if you want!

Playingthe9monthwait · 14/07/2008 13:35

Thanks Cal. I am not stressing about the lack of symptoms yet. I know its still early so could get them later and I am trying to look after myself, rest when I can, eat relatively heathily so I am sure all that helps. Just had one lady on the March 09 thread whose pg has failed to develop or has a ectopic pg as her scan showed just an empty sack. I feel so sorry for her and makes me very aware that I really can't assume everything is/will be ok yet.

Hi Tink. I know time flies, got my first BFP on CD35 which was nearly 2 weeks ago now. Officially that makes me 6+4 but in reality I don't ov on CD14 so I am probaby about 6 weeks dead on.

calsworld · 14/07/2008 14:06

Oh, that's sad Playing, I can't imagine what it must be like to go through that but am sure you and LO will be absolutely fine - not least of all because you are so clearly not stressing about stuff .

I have an absolutely banging headache, which I strongly suspect is due to the broken nights sleep I had, am trying to ignore it as best I can for the time being and just take on as many fluids as I can - would love some shut eye!

Its very quiet on here today isn't it...

OP posts:
babytime · 14/07/2008 14:18

Right i've had it up to here with tests.

Just used FR and after a couple of minutes, a second line started to appear - you had to really squint to see it in light of the window. But about 10 mins later could not see it.

Another evaporation line? Two in a pack? Both evaporation lines?

Anyway BFN, period stopped and so it looks like my period was 2.5 days long this month instead of 7 days.

Is there something wrong with me then?

I'm so fed up!!!

Playingthe9monthwait · 14/07/2008 14:19

Well, there's no point stressing is there? If its going to go wrong it will go wrong, nothing I can do to stop it!

It is quiet on here today. NJ is still missing, Kay is obvioulsy still having computer problems. Where is everyone else?

babytime · 14/07/2008 14:22

i know you are right - i just hope there is nothing wrong that is getting in the way with me ttc.

I always have long periods so this is weird but if the tests say no then its a no I guess.

If i have a short period again next af then I will go to my gp.

GYo · 14/07/2008 14:29

Hi Playing

Im stressing too... been told to stop taking my meds for PCOS, Metformin. The drug isnt licensed in preg apparently. However taking it means I will have significantly increase risk of miscarriage.

Doctor just rang to tell me. Im gutted as it feels like im flushing my BFp down the loo.

I KNOW im being irrational and will see sense shortly. Just very hard when i never thought I'd be able to get preganant, do something that will increase risk of MC.

Wish DH wasnt on hols. There is no one else I know who can give perspective.

Sorry for rant

Playingthe9monthwait · 14/07/2008 14:29

ok Babytime.

Firstly, you should really be testing with FMU (first morning urine) to get an accurate result and if you can't wait till morning you need to wait at least 4 hours without eating or drinking before you test, otherwise there may not be enough hcg in your urine to make a + result. Secondly, read the test when it tells you to read it. So if it says read after 3 mins but before 5 mins do not read before or after this time. So do the test and put it down and do not look at it until the time it tells you a result will show. Lastly, have you recently come off contraception as this may effect your cycle and period length?

A positive test should stay positive for 48 hours or longer.

GYo · 14/07/2008 14:36

LOL- just read the thread- seems you are not stressing playing

sorry for not reading properly.

GYo · 14/07/2008 14:41

Im also clearly incapable of writing as well as reading

Drug helps PCOS therefore by stopping taking it my MC risk, increases significantly.

Playingthe9monthwait · 14/07/2008 14:42

GYo, I am sure you will be fine. A mc on the antenatal threads will always effect us, makes us realise it could happen to us and feel dreadfully sorry for the person involved. But you know what, it was going to happen to one of us and unfortunately statistically it might happen again and there is nothing we can do about it apart from selfishly hope and pray its not us. I know that sounds bad but it is true. Stressing and worrying will not help.

Oh and re increasing odds of mc, I am still drinking caffiene (although reduced quantities) so maybe thats increasing my risk? On the other hand I need to have a life so I am not worrying about it but I think there are alsorts of things that increase your risks, none of that means you will mc though!

babytime · 14/07/2008 14:42

Playingthe9monthwait - not been on contraception for 7 years or more. I know I should have used fmu but because it is now CD4 I thought that if I was pregnant then it would be easily picked up.

So this short period is unexplained and I guess nothing to really worry about at the moment. Maybe I have had another chemical pregnancy, all the symptoms were and some still are here so that could be an explanation.

Well see.

GYo - sorry to hear you are stressed, start up a new thread to see if anyone can help or advise.

xxxxxxxxxxx

Playingthe9monthwait · 14/07/2008 14:47

Well I am out of ideas Babytime, sorry!!

GYo · 14/07/2008 14:49

Thanks for your kind words Playing- you are right, MC happens for a reason too.

This isnt really related to the Ante-natal MC, but its just arisen today as I called my GP and asked the question.

Baby- thanks too and you are right, this subject doesnt really belong here... will go back to my PCOS thread.

Playingthe9monthwait · 14/07/2008 14:58

Oh GYo, don't stop posting here. We are all here at various stages and all questions can be asked even if we don't know the answers! I think there would be uproar if the wagoneers who would pg left this thread!

GruffaloSoldier · 14/07/2008 15:01

Hi Gyo

Correct me if i have wrong end of stick, but surely if you were left on the drugs then this could equally cause mc??Otherwise you would be not being taken off them in first place? Please try not to worry as stress will not be helping! I would be reluctant to take any drugs whilst pregnant. I'm sure you are doing what is the best, and you cannot possibly do any more than that. My friend has PCOS, and had some spotting in early pregnancy but other than that was trouble free.

Keep thinking positive and try and relax and trust your body to do the job it is built for.

Hope this helps!!
