Oh Mowmi darling. I am so so sorry. Theres still a 10% chance so try and hang on to that little bit of hope? And a late implantation would make sense. God-our fucking bodies. It makes me so angry. (bit hormonal again today-sorry ) Hang on in there and take it very very easy.x
I will keep everything its possible to cross crossed for you.

Flibberty-thats wonderful news. And yay for only one! Obviously twins would be a joy but I'm way toooooo old!

LL-the Menopaur is incredibly fiddly. 4 little bottles to mix with a tiny bit of saline. The breakages bill could be huge with DH's sausage fingers First one tonight. I'm wondering whether to just get on with it myself and stop being so wet tbh.
I am sending out ovulation vibes to your body....
And don't hesitate to get in touch for a chat about drugs!

RB-hope you're feeling better and the bleeding has eased up a bit.

flibbertywidget · 07/01/2009 19:47

Mowmi - sending you ((((((huge hugs)))) sweetie, how awful for you and DH. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Tuesday and will be thinking of you. You must be feeling so numb right now. Sending you all my love and hugs.

Bucky2008 · 07/01/2009 20:19

LondonLottie I don't know if you remember me but I was considering Scanhealth ages ago. I got a BFP in the end so did not pursue it but it was quickly followed by a MC. I stayed away from MN for a few weeks as a result.

I just wanted to say I am glad you had what sounds like a good experience albeit it may not have had the outcome you deserved. I have only read the last page of the thread so don't know exactly what happened but the fact you have to go to Guys kind of answers my question.

I am sending you lots of babydust and hope you get the DC you want. x

Onlyaphase · 07/01/2009 21:32

Mowmi - hang in there. My first scan at 6 weeks pregnant wasn't successful, and they didn't know if the pregnancy wasn't viable or if it was just too early to tell. I had to wait another week to have another scan - such a horrible week - when we could see a heartbeat, so my heart goes out to you today. Best of luck anyway

For those having trouble with injections, my top Mumsnet tip is to freeze the area first. I used to use an icecube in a tissue, but have now discovered that a cold can of pepsi or whatever can be used with no drips to contend with. I usually inject in my tummy, so I tuck the cold can into my jeans for 5 mins while I get on and find the puregon pen and needles. Truly, this does work, much less or no pain at all. And I find it easier to do my own injections too, for some bizarrre reason - DH did the first lot a couple of years ago, but I've done my own since then as it lessens the clockwatching stress if he is late

Looks like I'm having EC on Monday, 4 days ahead of schedule. They think I have 9 follicles of reasonable size so far....I usually get around 5 fertilised eggs and then 2 decent embryos, so it doesn't look as though this cycle will be any different

rowingboat · 07/01/2009 22:11

Mowmi, I'm sorry you and your DH have had such a rotten day. I hope you are able to cope with this set-back OK, it can still turn out well. You may need to go bungy-jumping to take your mind off of things, but I hope you find the strength to soldier on until next week. Sending you a big hug and a soggy hankie.
How are you feeling now?
Did you have any other tests today?
I went to the GP this afternoon and she asked me to do a pg test - negative, because she was worried about an ectopic. She has taken blood to check for HCG and I will be going back again on Friday for a second, comparative, test to see if there is more/less or no HGC compared with today's.
I'm still bleeding, but it's like old blood, kind of strange. I think it is a cyst, but seems like too much.
She is going to sort out a scan for me for next week, and said she could feel a swelling to the left of my uterus, and said it was too big for an ectopic.
We were supposed to be bding today, but DP doesn't fancy it (and neither do I).
I agree Lottie the freecycle type of thing would be ideal. I could mention it to the GP when I speak to her, see if she knows anything the legal aspects.

sootykalucy · 08/01/2009 07:33

Hey mowmi I seem to remember my last post to you was 'it's not over until it's over', that still holds . ..

I am crossing my fingers all the way from Australia for you!

I still haven't made my appointment yet . . . surfing has been rather distracting.

Onlyaphase · 08/01/2009 09:35

Mowmi - did they offer you blood tests to see if your HGC levels were doubling every 2-3 days? Thinking back, when I was in a similar situation to you, my clinic gave me blood tests to check the levels were rising, just so we had some sort of clue before the next scan as to whether it was good or bad news.

Hi ladies,

Hope you are all well today, no pr from the fertility conference yet, I was hoping to see some fab new developments and better success rates in the press - oh well

Mowmi - so sorry to read about what has happened, I hope things turnaround for you in the meantime lots of hugs, thinking of you.

LL - thanks for your email, I'll get back to you soon I promise, keep getting caught up in the evenings doing chores etc.

Onion xx

spook · 08/01/2009 13:59

I will most certainly be sticking a can of something down my jammys tonight OAP. Thanks for that! Anything that makes it more bearable.
How exciting about your EC on Monday. You'll be just over a week ahead of me. I've got another scan on Wednesday then provisionally booked in for EC on 20th.
What I don't understand is why I'm still sniffing whilst stimming? Surely the two counteract each other???

Mowmi-hope you're doing ok sweetie. Any news??
RB-how are you feeling today? It does sound like your doctor did a very thorough job. Good luck tomorrow.

What side effects can I look forward to with my Menopur? I have heard that the hormonal juggernaut slows down (which DH will be pleased about) I have been permanently STARVING for a few days now but I think thats more to do with my enforced detox!

pinkie08 · 08/01/2009 14:02

mowmi

Please remain hopeful, the exact same thing happened to me and 10 days later i had another scan and there was the heartbeat. That was 8 years ago after lots of mcs the pg went without a hitch please be strong
((((hugs))))

Onlyaphase · 08/01/2009 14:34

Sppok - sniffing whilst stimming stops you ovulating prematurely I think. And yes, you are right in that they do counteract each other to a certain extent, but the end result is hopefully the desired one - lots of big follicles that haven't yet matured.

I downregged on the pill this time, so haven't taken anything to down reg since I stopped that on 26 Dec. To make up for that now, I am taking a daily injection of Organalutran which serves the same purpose as the downregging sniffing i.e stops me ovulating now the follicles are getting over 15 mm in diameter.

Once you start stimming your mood should improve . My DH said that I became livable with again once the stims started, whereas I was an argumentative bint before when downregging. Hence I downreg on the pill now, not by sniffing or injecting (to save marriage!)

Bucky2008 · 08/01/2009 15:03

LondonLottie I have been put on Clomid now by my NHS fertility clinic. If it doesn't work I get a free round of IVF so as its only a few months wait now I will go that route. i am a little concerned though as I have had 2BFPs and 2 MCs in 3 years so I am wondering if, if I do get a BFP it will go to term anyway . Suppose it is best to try for free before spending thousands only for it all to go wrong.

Great to see you still have such a positive attitude. Keep going it will happen I am sure! {hugs}

Bucky2008 · 08/01/2009 15:04

Oh didn't mention its unexplained infertility for us as all our tests are fine, so not the Clomid is just to increase the odds!

Onlyaphase · 08/01/2009 15:20

Bucky, I had a friend withe exact same situation as you - only 3 MCs - and she was given the same advice as you, 6 months on clomid (which can improve egg quality) and then IVF. So it seems to be the way forward for your situation.

spook · 08/01/2009 16:11

Thanks OAP. Watch this space to see if my mood improves!!!
We are nearing the end of this thread...they only take 1000 posts.
I am going to start a new one girls.
I'll call it the same thing Part 2! See you all there.

rowingboat · 08/01/2009 22:37

Hi everyone, just thought I would post an update, feeling very peculiar, poor old DS, he is a nightmare at the moment and I'm super-weepy. Still bleeding, it's so weird and can't really figure out what's going on.
Unfortunately I didn't get the results from the blood test today, but apparently the nurse will appraise me tomorrow, when I give the second sample.
Probably should go to bed...

sootykalucy · 09/01/2009 07:00

Hey ladies, I made my first move to an appointment over here - but the recommended Dr doesn't work Fridays so no date . . . . typical Aussie slacker!

Hey LL charge up that hot water bottle too - though I have to say I had a scare today, a big sting ray (like the one that killed Steve Irwin) was loitering in the surf near me. I had to get all the kiddies out and raise the alarm!

I think this thread will end at 1000 messages, does anyone know how to create a new one? Also perhaps we should go by it's old name - IVFer's - more succint . . . just a suggestion.

nomoremagnolia · 09/01/2009 09:19

Spook has started a new thread for us here

Kanuck · 09/01/2009 09:56

sootykalucy I agree with the new (old) name for the group - IVFer's. The other group has been started. Should we rename it? Thoughts anyone?

roseca · 15/01/2009 20:01

Hi Ladies and happy new year to all. I have started on drug treatment now am on injections of Buserlin day 13, am suprisingly doing ok with the injections though i wont look at the needles and no side effects as yet that i am aware off apart from i have throbbing sinuses but dont know if that is a side effect. A work colleague commented that my boobs looked big today (could that be a side effect who knows). Go back on 22nd to see the fertility nurses to see how to inject the Puregon ......big hug mowmi

sideshowbob2 · 11/05/2013 19:53
