Welcome to the new thread I only hope I can link it to the old one

RB - As well as all that shopping I figured how to burn cd's on the new macbook. I'll drop you an email to grab your address x

Congrats Flibbity Really pleased to hear your news.

Onion, sorry about your mmc. It is really hard esp when you don't know it's happened. It was me thinking about IVM. You have to produce a good number of eggs, apparently it is good for people with PCOs and the only Clinic to have a licence or in this country is Oxford Fertility Clinic. They basically take the eggs before they are fully mature and mature them in vitro, so you have to take less drugs. I produce quite a few eggs - last count about 12 and I am nudging 40 so I am thinking about it, but I am also conscious we are entering unchartered territory as far as the economy is concerned and I have a DB and his school fees, I really am not sure what to do. I haven't made any plans to do anything before next year I am hoping that I will get some clarity about it all but I am fuzzy. My head says I should stop but my heart would love to have another.

Love to everyone.

Onion - I am so sorry for your loss, that is so tough after what you have been through. I hope you manage to get some peace and tranquility this christmas.

Soosy - thanks for your congrats. I hadnt heard about IVM. IT sounds promising. I hope you manage to think things through and decide what direction you are going to go in. Sometimes you just got to let the heart rule the head. We had a similar dilemma and just thought bugger the economy. DH isn;t working at the moment, I am working full time, so he has to play SAHD. he doesn;t do a bad job, but he is crap at housework, except for a bit of man-hoovering, cooking and putting stuff in a washing machine. He doesn;t actually tidy or clean IYKWIM?

Mowmi - how are you doing today sweetie?

LL and you too? how are you feeling?

I am now officially on the countdown to christmas. Keep wandering around my house and wishing a magic fairy would come and clean it for me, and then paint it too!. Think we are going to move all the crap out to the garage for a couple of days (and then probably leave it there!) Got to get a couple of presents for DH's family today. We will go to France after xmas until the new year so I need to get some bits and pieces for my nieces.

have a great day all
xxxx

mowmi · 20/12/2008 10:16

Hey Flibberty - How you doing? Has it sunk in?
If it's same as last time I'll start spotting today or tomorrow so am on tissues / knicker watch - jusy hoping the witch doesn't show her evil face!
Feeling ok - If it's bad news going to get in to see consultant to see what she has to say about what's next but will probably have a break for a bit - we're hoping we can start to try naturally from May (12 months after his last chemo - still need to wait to see if DH sperm is ok)

hugs x

Lottie, I know what you mean about the posh prams. Everyone seems to have a bugaboo something or a phil and teds these days.
Sounds like a nice morning though.
Flibberty - my house looks like it has been turned upside down and then back several times, I almost can't bear it, but if I look at the computer screen I can't see it!
Oh and DS is shouting and shouting and shouting (and so am I, a bit) - think he/I got up a bit too early this morning.
Mowmi, have fingers crossed for Tuesday.

flibbertywidget · 20/12/2008 21:20

well i got yanked down to earth with a bang this afternoon. I got a letter from my GP telling me my smear had revealed changed cells on my cervix.

I had my smear about 3 weeks ago as the sonographer thought she saw a cyst but told me it was probably a nabothian cyst. So went to get Smear test, asked the nurse if they could fast track and she said NO (wagon), so now I am in a predicament. I am going to go to my GP on monday anyway (I will have yet another fight on my hands to get more meds for the next 8 weeks to sustain my pregnancy).

I need to have a chat about what to do and the reality etc. With my history of cancer I am not taking any chances but I also do not want to lose this baby.

Oh well!!!

ll - yes I will test again tomorrow. I did a trad Clearblue this morning and it came up with a stronger cross, so keeping my fingers crossed. I won't be truly happy until the HB scan in early january. LL my BMI isn't where it should be either. Glad you had a nice evening and got sozzled. know what you mean about all the yummy mummies and buggies. It feels like they are everywhere when you least want them

mowmi - keeping fingers crossed for you darling :-). Sorry to hear your DH has had to go through chemo, horrible experience for you both.

RB we had a day like that today, I am just glad to get my little niblet into bed tonight, I am shattered and my DH is being a useless twerp. He got a snot on cos I asked him to hoover the lounge properly, I had just dusted, cleaned woodwork and cleaned windows. God you'd have thought I had asked him to give me half his brain. sodding men....

I am also most disturbed by my lack of desire for chocolate - it is odd!

Got a sodding sore throat today too. I had my tonsils removed when I was 20, now, according to my GP, it appears a remnant of my tonsil has grown back. I officially have a mutant tonsil FFS! -

Right off to watch gremlins and the xmas oggle box
xxxxxxxxxx to you all xxxxxx

mowmi · 21/12/2008 07:03

oh flibberty - I'm sorry to hear that, hope you get refered to someone quickly who can help you with what needs to be done and when - sorry am painfully aware that I'm probably not saying the right thing here (I so want to) the timing is absolutely shocking! I'll be thinking of you. I'm sending you a big cyber hug!

Well ladies... the reason I am up in what I consider the middle of the night (at the weekend) is I had a really vivid dream I was pregnant and woke up needing the loo. Sat down and thought should I or shouldn't I....was kind of thinking if it's another no I can further get my head round it and sort my self out for Xmas. Guess what - it was BFP (can't believe how long I've wanted to type that!) I used one of the clearblue digital ones (in fact I got it free off this very site!) and it came up with 1-2 week pregnant

Will be off to sainsburys as soon as it opens to buy more tests - can't believe it! Am I getting ahead of myself?

Lots of love to you all and a big thanks for all your support so far!

x

MOWMI ---- WHOOPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I knew it.. you minx. You see 6 days was too early... those digital tests are the best. However, note, the battery doesn't last long. But I am now back on the clearblue traditional ones and the cross is getting stronger and stronger. WELL DONE YOU!!!!!! - what a wonderful christmas present. Please, please, please rest up now and enjoy your pg.

No you are not getting ahead of yourself. You have a BFP -- enjoy it, the next milestone is the HB scan in about 2 weeks. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

LL & Mowmi - thanks for the words of reassurance. I had a read up and it seems this is quite common, so fingers crossed that they go back to normal. I can;t have smears during pg, so will have to wait until Nov timeframe. Unless the doctors decide that a smear test is a better precaution. I am going to see them tomorrow.

LL - hope you have recovered from your hangover

take care ladies xxxx

mowmi · 21/12/2008 13:55

thanks so much ladies - it hasn't sunk in yet!! did another test mid morning (another FR one) at first I could only see the one line...but then a really faint second line appeared! Yipeeeee
I honestly don't remember getting from the loo to the bed - DH thought I'd seen a mouse because I was screaming and crying!
Seriously - don't know what I would have done without you ladies....none of my friends are facing / been down AC route and without you ladies to ask advice and dump down on (!) I think I would have either exploded or had some sort of break down so thank you all again

Flibberty - lots of my friends have had abnormal smears and cells - you are right it is really common so try not to be overly worried. Glad you're seeing the doc tomorrow - waiting around is the worst bit. Let us know how you get on!

LL what is happening on Tues? Have you been on the waiting list long? Is it with a view to starting again soon or early days yet? (hope I've not missed the answer to this in the thread somewhere?!)

Hugs x

rowingboat · 21/12/2008 16:46

Mowmi, that's fantastic news! You are so funny with the screaming! This is certainly a roller coaster ride for you isn't it!
Flibberty, I'm sorry to hear about the bad news arriving hot on the heels of the good news. It sounds like you are on top of it though. I too had a couple of friends who both had abnormal smears, one went for another smear and it was fine the other had a procedure which was fairly unintrusive. I'm hoping it goes away, and the lack of rushing is quite reassuring in a way.
Have you had this type of thing before?
House is a lot tidier than it was, but still sooo tired. It's that start of the holiday syndrome, when you actually feel ill when you stop running around and around in circles and collapse.
Lovely to have a break though.

sootykalucy · 21/12/2008 16:48

Great news mowmi, that first abandoned cycle seems a long way away now . . . interesting what you said about your dream, my sister had the same experience. Best of luck over Xmas . . .. don't drive yourself mad with testing.

Sad to say I had a dream as well - I dreamt I was packing my bags for Australia and I noticed that one of them was a small wooden coffin. It was a really unsettling experience and I haven't been able to shake it . . .

Hey LL I have one tip for you - take a few laxatives and don't eat that morning (just a strong coffee). We carry about 4kgs in our intestines so that should get you through . . . not ideal, but whatever it takes . . . ?

Once again congrats Mowmi

rowingboat · 21/12/2008 17:00

Sooty, that does sound a disturbing dream. I have seen quite a few interpretations of dreams that show that often the symbols are not literal, so the coffin could represent a number of different things, not necessarily death.
Look I looked up a dream analysis site called dreamlover and this is what they had under the symbol coffin:

"Coffin

This dream symbol most likely evokes fear, but before making quick interpretations, carefully consider all of the details in this dream. The coffin could symbolize a lack of energy or vitality in the dreamer. It could represent the death of one stage of life and movement into another. (Not necessarily physical death! In fact, some cultures believe that if you see a person dead and in a coffin, he will most likely live a long and healthy life!) When dreaming about coffins, we may be contemplating the nature of the death experience and may access the state of consciousness that is attuned to the spiritual world. Most simply, and most likely, the coffin in your dreams may represent feelings of confinement and lack of freedom. "

Perhaps it just represents the end of your IVF journey in this country. Or a sense of confinement because of the IVF process.
Who knows, but I hope that gives another take on the dream, which is not so sinister.

sootykalucy · 21/12/2008 18:57

Food for thought rowingboat and yes, obvious isn't always the best interpretation or correct . . . if there is a correct . .

BlueStarOverBethlehem · 21/12/2008 20:53

Hi everyone,

I have been lurking alot and not posting, as I still feel like I'm not really being assisted yet, but...

Lottie - oh my goodness, hun! I am so so sorry! I watched what you went though and I prayed it would all be successful! I am so sorry it wasn't, this time! I hope your NHS appointment goes well! I know you're London based-baed, where abouts?? I am too, but SE London. I love pottering about on my little highstreet too!

Mowmi -yeehaaa! Congratualtions! I am really pleased you got your BFP!!! What a lovely Christmas present.

Flibberty - Congratulations too!!! Yay! Great news!

As for me, we had our first fertility appointment last week and DH has been gievn a list of supplements to atke and then he has to have another sperm assessment (3rd in 4 months) and a blood test. They are talking about IVF with ICSI at the moment. But we never actually got to see the consultant!!! he was running 1.5 hours late at 11.40am - how is that even possible??? We saw some junior doctor who didn't even know what ICSI was...not exactly encouraging. But since it's a wait for more test results, I coould be bothered to kick up a fuss.

Question for you guys....is it weird that they don't seem to want to do any tests on me yet???? or is this just delaying the process, so that IVF (and the costs) are a last resort??

Anyhow, big waves all around!

Bluestar x

BlueStarOverBethlehem · 21/12/2008 20:56

Sorry guys...I need a spell checker on this!!

I meant to say, I couldn't be bother to fuss....

NappyValley · 21/12/2008 21:02

Sorry I am so rubbish at posting. But i have been reading along and lurking away over the last few weeks.

LL sorry it didn't got your way

mowmi how amazing and what wonderful news to start the new year with. I know it has been a long journey for you.

onion so sorry for your loss.

fliberty your friends words moved me to tears too, and I can't blame anything on hormones. What a predicament. trust your heart and the difficult decisions will sort themselves out, but congrats on the BFP though.

If I have left anyone out I am sorry.

I will be heading to the in-laws tomorrow, so I just want to thank everyone for their care and support this year. You are all truly beautiful people and for all those amazing BFPs that have occurred since I came to this thread, Happy Christmas little beans. and Happy Christmas all you potential mums.

NappyValley · 21/12/2008 21:03

Just read that back and thought it didn't read right, Lottie I know what a long and hard journey yours has been so far too, but I am convinced it is not over yet and 2009 is our year! :0)

BlueStarOverBethlehem · 21/12/2008 21:51

Oh, I have to say to Fliberty - thank you for posting the words from your friend - I cried when I read them and read them to my DH. Seems like our babies all need to go to others at the moment...so be it. Like your friend said, our hearts are open, and when the right comes we will love any child with all our hearts. I took heart that she recommended symptom spotting etc.

Hi everyone...sorry not posted over the weekend. We had a big party on Saturday night and consequently Sunday was a bit of a write off
Anyway...Mowmi
How competely AMAZING!! What a wonderful start to Christmas. I am so pleased for you both.
Lottie-I'm glad you went out and got drunk this weekend. Good girl. And good luck tomorrow. Get that AC ball rolling again!
Onion-I'm so sorry. That must have been indescribably hard.
How are you feeling Flibberty?? Try not to worry too much. I think it is really quite common to have some rogue cells but the sooner your mind is put at rest the better.

I'm ok-still sniffing away. Though I didn't appreciate having to set my alarm after the party on Sunday morning to sniff. Ouch.
I also started my bleed on Saturday night. God its heavy. Is that usual. I suppose its clearing everything out? I'm sleeping better anyway thank goodness.
DH has been alot nicer too. I think he was sensing hysteria bubbling under the surface if he didn't start acknowledging what was going on a bit more
I can't believe its Christmas in 4 days. I've just picked up my blardy turkey and I think I'll have to start cooking it tomorrow its so huge!
I've got 3 kids today so we're going to the beach and then going to the flicks, so that should take my mind of things anyway.
Lots of love.

ladylush · 22/12/2008 10:09

The BMI isn't always a reliable way to measure weight. It doesn't take into account muscle or proportion of body fat. I was quite surprised to find that my BMI is 26. I look a normal size iyswim.
